personality. Regarding other people, Ledge enjoys being around them. It reminds him of a time when humanity was actually human and whole. Being alone for too long sends anxiety his way and he fears that everyone else had been hurt or killed. Though in this way he can lend his hand with medical expertise to help those in need.
He’s a pleasant man to be around, trying to bring out the best in people, but sometimes can get a little solemn when family is mentioned or something reminds him of his past. He lives in constant fear there will be a repeat.
He’s not afraid of fighting, but will avoid it at all costs saying it’s against his morales to fight another person when there’s enough death. Now fighting the dead, it gets his heart pumping, but he does what needs to be done.
history. Legend had an enjoyable childhood from what he could remember. He grew up in Chicago with only his mother and got along with almost everyone. He had no issues as a kid; no anxiety, no physical problems, he was just a normal, happy kid.
He didn’t play any sports in school, but he made friends with almost everyone. His first dream wasn’t to become a doctor as he is today, but rather to be someone famous. Like a singer. The dream was far off though considering how many actually got into that industry.
In his late teen years he got into an accident that ended up in several broken bones in his left leg. He was out with some friends riding bikes through the streets and ended up getting hit by a car. He almost had to get the leg taken off, but the doctors saved it and helped nurse him back to health. That’s when he decided to become a doctor. To help others.
His early years in college he spent with General classes and soon transferred to a medical school, where he stayed for many years to earn a PhD. He met his first love there; Jane Heralds. It took a year to work up the nerve to ask her out and for years afterwards, they remained together. They never ended up marrying, but did end up living together until the outbreak.
family. He was an only child growing up. His parent divorced when he was two and ended up living with his mother for his childhood. As an adult, he did find a relationship with a young woman named Jane Heralds, whom he met in medical school. They never married nor had any kids, but were very close for the years until the outbreak. He still hadn’t worked up the courage to ask for her hand before she was killed.

- The inability to walk correctly. As a teenager he suffered an injury to his left leg that ended up breaking several of the bones. It never fully healed and has lost full functionality of it, unable to bend it all the way and move as fast as everyone else.
- He is not built for strength and so isn’t a very strong man.
- He does suffer from some anxiety from being alone for too long. It makes him worry that something went wrong and his thoughts always go back to his family.
- After the outbreak, he’s gained a habit for alcohol and smoking, saying it’s a way to cope with his memories.
