steve was beyond lost. the domestic feline had decided to go for a short walk outside of camp to explore his new territory and clear his mind. he was enjoying his new life in the shadow veil, but he couldn't fight the guilt of leaving his old home. he didn't leave anything, no note or sign of disappearance. steve had figured it wouldn't matter, but was having second thoughts now that he was away. he knew nancy and jonathan would be more than glad to see him gone, but what would his parents think? they weren't around too much, but it was nonetheless a concern to have your son missing. lost in thought, steve hadn't realized he had exited his own territory and now found himself near what seemed to be the border of some other clan. perfect. seeing as he had only been a part of the shadow veil for a few days, he was unfamiliar with what scents were allies and which were enemies. either way this wasn't good.

the brown tabby couldn't remember from what direction he had come from, after all most of the forest looked exactly the same. maybe he could follow his own scent trail? steve sniffed the ground before realizing the utter stupidity of that idea. the tom was never the brightest, and problem-solving was never his strong suit. hell, the only reason he had come to the clans was to escape his surplus of problems back home. "shit steve, you've done it again! ya done goofed!", he grumbled as his amber optics searched for an answer that wasn't there. the feline froze when he realized he had spoken aloud. at least now he could at least expect to be berated by some stranger.

THERE'S A DANGEROUS KIND OF COOL ABOUT YOU

Steve's expectations were somewhat correct. He was going to be approached by a stranger, though not exactly berated. Had he possessed the scent of an Exile, a Cartelian, or any other enemy of BlizzardClan, he probably would've been royally pissed off. In fact, he probably would have had the nerve to attack the guy. But that wasn't the case today. The feline could detect the vaguely familiar scent of ShadowClan- er, the Shadow Veil on the stranger, and they were on friendly terms as far as he knew.

Jerseyboy actually hadn't been too far from where Steve currently was. He was a few lengths away, leaning against a tree with a bottle of flavored vodka. This is what he did- he sat out in the woods and drank without any interruptions. It was pretty nice to do once in a while, especially since nobody would be bothering you for or about a drink. He pricked his ears, having heard someone say something, and he turned his head to fixate his gaze onto an unfamiliar tom. The deputy was never scared to address strangers, and why should he be? He was on his own territory, anyways. He could do what he wanted whenever he wanted to. "Eh, there somethin' I can do for you, pal?" The New Jerseyan asked with a slight cock of his figurative brow.

a questioning voice turned steve in the direction of the tuxedo cat, who was leaning against a tree with a bottle of something. it was definitely a scene steve could relate to, drinking alone. after all, who thought about their feelings in a healthy way when alone? the lost feline offered him a polite glance before answering, “seems i fucked up and got myself lost”, laughing at his own comment to offset the disappointment he imposed on himself. how could he get lost, he wasn’t a kid anymore.

now standing closer to the blizzardclanner, he noticed the bottle appeared to be some flavor of vodka. the brown tabby found the very sight to be quite tempting. he hadn’t drank, or even smoked, since he showed up at the shadow veil hammered. it was challenging, but he knew it would be good for his health and all that. “-where exactly am i?”, steve added in attempts to fixate his attention back towards his main issue.
