personality. If one looked up the definition of “trouble-maker” in Olympus, California, one would probably have found a picture of Trystan. Cocky, impossible to control, intensely competitive and prone to anger, Trys has been fighting most of his life, against enemies both real and imagined. Brave to the extreme and never one to back down from a challenge or a fight, Trystan often starts wars for no good reason at all, but, he is also the kind of male who would be willing to have a beer with a guy he had just brawled with, a minute before. He never holds a grudge, even against those that have wronged him. He forgives, but do not ever assume that he forgets, especially if said wrong is against his family or friends. Sarcastic and prickly by nature, he can be a hard-ass coach and an even tougher friend, but that’s only because he only wants what’s best for the people he cares about. Trystan hates laziness, inaction, and procrastination in all their myriad forms. Lying around doing nothing is time wasted for no reason, to his mind, and if Trystan isn’t doing something that could be construed as productive, then he quickly grows more and aggravated. He does, in fact, have A.D.H.D., though he has never been diagnosed with the disorder, because his father never bothered to take him to a doctor for it.

None of that is to say that the man can’t be fun. Adventurous in spirit and always willing to try new things, Trystan can be a blast to be around when he’s in a good mood, as he has the ability to ignite an enthusiastic response in most people around him; He’s an excellent public speaker, and he always manages to rally his football team to victory, during the high school’s football games. He was a member of the team himself, when he was in school, and it shows; Trystan very much understands the power of a group of people working together toward the same goal. Though, conversely, Trystan isn’t one to trust easily. He tends to be rather paranoid of other people’s motives, seeing double-meanings and veiled insults where none actually exist. He has been known to create his own enemies by just assuming that people are just that; Enemies, even when they themselves don’t intend to be. Trystan can come off strong to those who don’t know him, and, if truth be told, even to those who do. He doesn’t regulate his own reactions, and he rather lacks a filter. Unabashedly free of any self-doubt or negative introspection, Trystan isn’t the kind of person who sits around and worries about who he is or what kind of person he may be. He prefers to go out into the world and figure it out via the best way to learn anything at all; By doing it.

Nevertheless, Trystan is also loyal to a fault, and, though he may be unpredictable, one can always count on him if they need him. Calling on Trys for help can often be seen as a last-ditch solution, simply because of his tendency to come at any problem from the “Punch it” style of problem-solving, but friends and family can always count on his unconditional support when they need it. Although... It must also be noted that Trystan drinks far more heavily than he should, and a few people he knows have thrown around the word “alcoholic”, though thus far he hasn’t listened to them.

history. Trystan is one of those people who, to people on the outside, would seem to have had the perfect childhood. Though his mother died giving birth to him, his father married again only two years later, so he only ever knew his step mother. His parents were wealthy, well known around Olympus, and gave their son everything he wanted, be it clothes, books, games, or anything else. He was the golden boy in his elementary school; Athletic, funny, and charming, if a bit temperamental. His teachers weren’t so enamored of young Trystan, though; He could barely pay attention in class, and his grades were consistently dismal. It turns out that a large part of that problem was his A.D.H.D., but no one ever knew about it. Middle school was the much the same, with Trystan growing ever more popular, and then, in high school, he made the football team in his Sophomore year, and became Captain (but not Quarterback, he never particularly wanted that job) in his Junior year. The handsome jock who apparently got everything he wanted, it was hard to ignore Trystan, even for the people who didn’t so much approve of his cocky, anger-prone attitude. Yes, it’s easy to assume that he had the ideal childhood.

What most people in Olympus didn’t know, until much later, was that Trystan’s father, Maxwell, was a cruel, vain man who built his fortune off of the drug and human trafficking trades. Trystan’s step-mother, Leeann, was a petty, deceitful woman who cared about no one but herself; Spending her days buying herself anything she wanted and sleeping with any man who crossed her eye, often not even bothering to hide her affairs from her son. Trystan grew up in a toxic household of two parents who hated each other, carried on affairs, conducted criminal dealings, and even started giving Trystan alcohol as early as nine; Hence his thus-far uncured alcoholism. Not so much physically abusive as simply emotionally abusive and utterly toxic for a child, Trystan’s upbringing made him into the man he is today; Prickly, distrustful, and a total skeptic when it comes to marriage. The whole sordid story came out, however, when Trystan’s mother overdosed on heroine, and she was brought to the hospital. An investigation into where she had gotten the drugs revealed everything, and Trystan’s father was sent to prison when Try’s was seventeen. His step-mother died from her overdose a few days after she was brought in. He spent the next nine months in a foster home

family. Maxwell, his father, currently incarcerated, and his step-mother, Leeann, dead from a drug overdose. His biological mother died in childbirth.

allies. Trystan and Lennox would likely get along, Hera and Ares were always close in the myths, but it’s fine if that doesn’t fit with your character, Maycie! Also, maybe it would be interesting if Trystan was fostered with one of the existing families for nine months before he turned eighteen? Just a thought. ^.^
