half-hidden in the mediterranean sea sits the beautiful island country of cordonia. most of the outside world has never even heard of it, let alone followed the tricky and enigmatic politics happening there. with a population just over five hundred thousand people, the nation has some of the lowest crime and poverty rates in the world. for the cordonian elites, however, life isn't as quiet and content. among assassinations, kidnappings, affairs, and countless scandals, the high society of cordonia knows nothing of peace or safety. it's common practice for children to be sent away to cordonia elite, a private school on a smaller island just offshore from the country's mainland. they go not only to earn a brilliant education, but also for their own safety. but this year, not is all that it seems at cordonia elite.

lord of westara: hailing from westara, a metropolitan territory of cordonia, the lord of westara is what some might call fast-paced. he's always on the move, he's quite brash, and he's excellent at keeping secrets. taken by synth.
lord of asten: hailing from asten, a coastal territory opposite the island from sinertia, the lord of asten is a regular bad boy. he's daring, he's rebellious, and nobody knows him as much as they think they do. taken by qualia.
lord of vanta: hailing from vanta, a territory famous for its fertile farmland, the lord of vanta is an all-around golden boy. he's charming, he's athletic, and he's not entirely what he seems. reserved.
lord of contori: hailing from contori, a sleepy territory closest to cordonia elite, the lord of contori is considered by his peers to be a nerd. he's smart, he's awkward, and he's got his own mysteries just like everybody else. reserved.

Vivienne, at surface level, is your typical party girl. Loud, flirtatious, and all but dripping with confidence, you can often find her at the heart of a party or in the middle of a crowd. A natural star, she draws attention to herself as easily as most people draw air. Beneath this exuberant exterior however, you find someone who isn't quite as appearances make her out to be.

With a manipulative streak in her, Vivienne knows exactly how to get people to do what she wants. Be that through idle flirtations or promises of power, she has a knack for convincing others to play by her rules. Her warm exterior masks someone who's willing to do what it takes to get where she needs to be, even at the cost of friendships and even love. Her experiences have made her far more cold and calculated than she would ever let anyone know, but also far more isolated and lonely. She guards her heart with a wall of steel, and while she's loved by many, very few have ever truly become close to her.

History:

Vivienne's past isn't filled with excitement, but has certainly shaped her into the woman she is today. Growing up in the centre of the limelight, she's always been accustomed to being under scrutiny. With her family having high expectations of her, she often struggled to keep up with the pressure, turning to partying and quick flings. Striking a delicate balance between her personal life and what the publicity see, she began all too good at hiding parts of herself from the world. This included her fondness for women.

Having realised fairly quickly that she wasn't exclusively interested in men, this became another aspect of her life which she had to guard closely. Her family would never accept her being with a woman - as the only daughter, she was expected to eventually have children, and any threat to that would be met only with disapproval. This is what led to Vivienne being so secretive, despite her open demeanor.

Vivienne's family is small, and not very close. Her mother and father are the only immediate relatives, neither of whom were particularly fond of showing much affection to Vivienne, or to each other. She has a few other relatives, cousins and the like, none of which she's particularly close to.

^{marloe is a liar, a cheat, a thief, a heartbreaker, and most importantly, a bitter soul. he's a bit of a daredevil, rebellious at that, and someone who will definitely push your buttons until they break. while this isn't something he particularly hides, he always tries to play it off as if 'he didn't know'. that, or he can get extremely cocky to the point that it becomes pretentious and tasteless. marley's mean, and the reason why he's so good at tearing people down is because he's got the brains to do so. while he isn't a genius, he certainly has some clever wits. when he gets tired of someone, he's not shy in letting them go, and this is something that happens quite frequently considering how unpredictable he really is. it's a debate whether he can really value a person at all, and that probably stems from the fact that he barely values himself. he doesn't like the fact that he's gay, that he does drugs, that he's miserable, and that, in general, he just is the way he is. he finds solace from taking it out on others, and it fuels his sullen heart.}

[trigger warning] it'd usually be considered ironic that an elite such as himself wished he could just be an average citizen of cardonia, but it all had to do with his upbringing. marloe's rough home life revolved around the fact that behind closed doors his father was an abusive alcoholic and his mother's health was flimsy. being a heir meant he was the one who had to adhere to some strict expectations. for such a 'prized possession', it's easy to say he definitely wasn't treated like one. if there was any good to come out of staying at home, it had to be that his sisters were young and oblivious and he found consolation in taking caring of them, something his parents wouldn't do. eventually he'd have to cease relationships with them entirely. even in such a tough environment, he was sure that childhood included some of the better aspects of his life.}

^{his mother's passing didn't come as a surprise, and for as long as she's been dead, he stopped caring entirely about his title. or even himself. marloe steered clear of digging his nose into anymore family business, and that meant he was rarely around home and more prone to getting into some deep shit. clubbing, vandalism, and fighting were one thing altogether. another vexing problem included soliciting older men on the down low, because girls just wouldn't do it for him. he strived to conceal his sexuality under lock and key in fear of the backlash from his father, and continued to do so. the biggest issue, however, was that he was always doped up on some sort of substance. his father was made well aware it one day when he was called down to the police station, only to see his son completely obliterated, barely able to stand on his two feet within one of the cells.}

^{marloe didn't really come to realize the lows he'd hit until he was actually forced to attend private counselling. after all, everything that occurred couldn't be made public. ever. he had to stay home and deal with the madman's wrath for much too long, and hell was an accurate word to describe his living conditions. it was a shame that he didn't care enough to learn any valuable lessons. nothing really changed, and as soon as he was released from what he deemed 'confines', he was back to it. that is, until he was arrested again. this time, it was off to cordonia elite where'd he hopefully be reformed. from here on, there wasn't a way to release his pent up feelings through antics and he had to face the fact that he was a depressed addict, just like daddy. except the difference being he was hiding behind a thick wall of superficiality. and still is.}

Personality Almaz is someone who doesn't fear what the future holds for her. She lives in the moment, and when she isn't fighting for herself she's fighting for her friends and family. She's always been the type of woman to do things other might consider 'unladylike'. Almaz is an absolute ray of sunshine, always working to make things better for those around her taking care of herself. Despite her kindness and selflessness, that isn't to say she's flawless. She can be careless at times and it isn't unusual for the young woman to put herself in situations she really has no business being in. Whether it be getting herself into something bad or simply intruding on something that isn't her job to deal with, she can't keep her nose out of things. She's stubborn and headstrong, often ignoring others opinions because she prefers her own. Almaz is not a woman to joke about fighting with, as she can and will do exactly that.

History [ CW SUICIDE MENT ] Almaz history is not one a great king or queen would have, and is more a sad and plain story. While known as the 'little prince' in her earlier years, she often spoke to her brother about being a female instead. With the help of her eldest brother, Anil, she was able to communicate her thoughts to her parents, who begrudgingly accepted the fact their second eldest was trans. With her coming out however, her family hid her from the public more. Not only were the Mascal not the most accepting of such things, but her family had grown with a rather distaste of the idea as well. The only person Almaz truly had was her eldest brother, who happily accepted her no matter what. A year prior to Almaz being sent off to Cordonia Elite, nasty rumors began to spread about her eldest brother who was to become king. Though none of the rumors were true, it became a great stress to Anil almost immediately. The stress grew so awful and bad that Anil eventually took his own life in the highest tower, leaving a letter addressed to Almaz behind. Though the letter has remained with Almaz for over a year now, it has yet to be read by her.

Family Almaz has quite a large family, though she only keeps close to her immediate family. Her mother and father are in a loving marriage, and then she has three younger brothers. Her late elder brother remains the person she was most close to. Her grandmother from her fathers side is extremely important to her, though they cannot talk much due to the distance geographically between them.

Personality:As a middle child, Indy is often the one that naturally overlooked- his almost childlike yearn for attention presents itself in brashness, and excitability, and lack of ability to pause and step back and actually concentrate. Even when he is still (which is a lot of the time, for his high amounts of physical activity and moving around drains his energy), his mind works overtime, living in the moment even as he carries around heavy family secrets on his shoulders that barely seem to effect him any more.

There is a reason that Indy never lets himself slow down, never lets himself be unoccupied, never lets himself dwell- if he stops and is stuck with his own absent mind, all bad memories and secrets start to get to him, and he grows anxious and tortured in his own head.

Somewhat volatile with his emotions, he can be unpredictable- though of few of his common attributes include that he can be unabashedly selfish, overcritical, non-confrontational when it comes down to it, and very sweet and charming when the occasion calls. Indy gets on very well with most people at a surface level; only those he trusts are disclosed even the tiniest amount of personal information. In closing- Indy, not exactly an open book, though he seems very exuberant and socially inclined, is an unusual young man, with a mercurial presence, a curious nature and an inclination to be brash and spontaneous. He also suffers from the sleeping disorder narcolepsy, the victim of narcoleptic fits in stressful situations that started around the age of 13.

History:There isn’t much to tell about Indy’s younger years- he was raised in luxury, but not spoilt; lived a seemingly sheltered life, but was far from innocent by his teens. At the age of only thirteen, he witnessed his older brother commit triple murder- killing the household’s elderly butler by repeatedly stomping his head before their skull cracked, and then stabbing to death the maid and head chef. Joaquin had been fifteen at the time; he accused the butler of being rude, the maid of being incompetent, and the chef of intentionally cooking a meal he disliked. Indy and Joaquin’s parents were seemingly unaffected; calmly, the coaxed Joaquin back to his room, while Indy sat there in shock, staring at the bloody, plush carpet and shaking violently. Only twenty minutes later, his parents were making phone calls; within a day, with all three sons confined to their expansive rooms, all evidence was gone, and nothing needed to be said. Joaquin, honour roll student, wasn’t going to face consequences. Lorcan was too young to understand. Indiana was expected to be silent, and was told to be so.

Indy never questioned it, but he feels immense guilt to this day, and in consequence grew to loathe his brother for getting away with everything he ever did. Nothing worse than that time back when he was fifteen, but anything from throwing tantrums to theft and assault when he grew older. Their parents barely noticed that Lorcan and Indy existed, so Indy took care of his little brother most of the time. When he turned 16, he was sent to the most prestigious school in the entirety of the area; leaving Lorcan behind, and letting Joaquin out of his careful, judging sight. It wasn’t exactly his decision.

Family: A much younger brother called Lorcan, a mother [Valerie] and a father [Alain] are his only close family he feels are worth mentioning; he has an older brother, Joaquin, with whom he does not get along.
