  • Green dragons were often the kind of dragons you would not dare associate with. They were cunning tricksters who told riddles and cheated others out of gold. They were looked down upon from other colored dragons, especially in vastly populated caves. Caves were sanctuaries for dragons- since being out in the open to long would Attract dragon hunters looking to sell their hides. But since Faron was a green drake, he was almost instantly turned away at the caves entrance.

He was used to this treatment. The color of his green scales gave him a bad name. As a couple green dragons awhile back made deals with dragon hunters for the locations of caves. He understood why everyone turned him away. But now it was becoming tiresome. This was the fourteenth cave he tried to enter to take refugee for a couple weeks. He has been recently having bad luck with dragon hunters- he never made a deal with them, but they sure were hunting him down. The safest place he could hide out were the sanctuaries in the caves. He let out a sigh and prepared to leave, when he heard another drake throwing a rather aggressive fit when he as well could not get in. Faron looked over, eyeing the other dragon as he watched him fuss.

A feral growl came from the large drake’s maw his teeth and scales glinting in the sunlight in a harsh blinding sheen. He looked about ready to rip out the throats of the dragons that were blocking his entrance to the cave. He couldn’t get into to any of the caves he had gone to and he was utterly frustrated with it. It was all because of a brand that a dragon hunter had burned into his wing when he was caught in a trap. He had managed to get free, but the mark meant all other dragons thought he must be working with the dragon hunters. Hissing an insult under his breath he turned and slammed his heavy tail into the chest of one of the dragons blocking the Chavez this sent the creature straggering back. Giving another growl the silver dragon turned to leave knowing he had to get out of the open. His silver scales already made him noticeable enough as it were. Opened hislarge wings his pale eyes looked back at the cave entrance with pure malice.

  • Faron now seen why the other was being denied entrance. He has seen that mark before- not often but enough to recognize it. He felt badly for the drake. Sure he was being denied for the color of his scales- but the aggressive male was denied over a simple brand. He was a bit taken back when he saw the guard be smacked with a tail. He understood the frustration. For once he decided maybe he should try to help someone else instead of himself, so he opened his mouth and turned towards the guards." Excuse me, great guardians of this cave entrance..." he cleared his throat trying to flatter the already annoyed dragons." But I think it would be beneficial to the two of you and this drake if you let him in. Its been quite a long day and I'm sure we've all had our own frustrating days- so could you be a bit more forgiving and cut some dragons in need of sanctuary for the night and let us in" he paused thinking of how it would be actually beneficial to let the other in."He's clearly strong, so if any invaders managed to get in he'd be a great ally." Faron gave a little smile. The bigger guard sighed and nodded his head in agreement." But if either of you are caught causing trouble I will beat you down myself." He stepped aside, even toe smaller guard moved out of the way reluctantly. Faron gave a cheeky grin and lifted his head." Your welcome." He said.

  • The large dragon had its leathery wings still outstretched ready to fly away. If he had noticed the other dragon come up he didn't acknowledge him now until he heard the voice trying to flatter the guards. Slightly confused the male turned himself around to watch the drake curiously. His pale eyes did widen slightly seeing that it was a green dragon trying to talk his way in. He hadn't really ever seen many green dragons around. Any he had seen were pretty quickly run off for their reputations as tricksters and vile creatures that helped the hunter. What surprised him even more was the other drake was talking on his behalf. Rajat slowly folded his wings to his sides trying to best he possibly could to hide the brand, although it could still be seen despite his best efforts. Giving a loud sigh of relief that he wouldn't have to find some kind of shelter for the knight at least. Hearing the other drake and looking to his toothy smile Rajat bowed his head slightly grumbling a very short "Thank You." He hugged his wings closer to his body.

  • Faron didnt usually help others out at all. And usually he wouldnt have talked his way in, even though he could have easily done that for the past couple of caves he was denied entry to. He was good at it, but it often felt like he was using his Charismatic nature against others, which made him feel slightly bad. This time he felt it was for a good cause, though.

The green dragon nodded his head and let his smile fall to a simple indifferent look. Now Faron turned back toward the entrance and walked inside- being stopped for a brief moment by the larger Drake." Don't cause any trouble, or you will regret it, understand?" A threatening tone murmured to him. The green dragon nodded in response." Of course not." He gave a curt response and the Guard moved out of the way again. Faron continued inside, lowering his head and soon hearing the busy dragons inside the cave, trading treasures, eating freshly hunted sheep, chatting amongst eachother. It was like a city in these giant caves. There were nooks, crannies and openings where dragons slept, usually there was always somewhere you could slump down for the night. But his green eyes scanne the cave walls, seeing taken spots, and reserved areas. It was rude to be found in anothers sleeping spot, and could cause a ruckus depending on who you encountered- And dragons were very, very territorial. Sanctuary or not, fights were common.

But in the corner of his eye, he seen one open area. It was large, but vacant. It also looked rather uncomfortable. But it was something. This space was probably meant for a small family of dragons. Faron made his way over, looking to get comfortable, but by now others were noticing his existence, and eyed him down. A strong looking female approached, stating him down." What, do I have something in my teeth? Maybe that rabbit I had last week." He stood up, prepared to actually defend himself." The guards actually let a trickster In here? You do realize youre not welcome here- or anywhere." She grumbled." Listen, I'm not in here to cause you any," he paused." Disturbance-" "You are disturbing me by even coming in here." She snapped. Faron cleared his throat, but before he could speak she was walking away." Wouldn't sleep tonight, If i were you." And she was gone. The drake scowled and sat back down. Indeed he might stay up.

  • Rajat didn’t even look back at the large drake’s warning. He probably wouldn’t even be seen again if he could help it. The silver dragon preferred his own company to the company of large groups of dragons, but there weren’t any caves to be found that hadn’t been claimed by larger dragons. Rajat lost the green dragon somewhere in mass of dragons. Pale eyes tried to find somewhere, that he could disappear to. There was no where that he could possibly find though, which sent a deep growl through his throat. With a narrowed gaze he perked up catching sight of the ruckus off up in one of the books. He spotted the green dragon’s scales from where he was. Rajat mumbled under his breath surprised that the green dragon had found a space and it was so much larger than the dragon needed. He spotted a low hanging area that looked like it might possibly work. Walking over as he got close it became very obvious that it would fit him or anyone. Although the mouth of the cave was big enough inside it was an utter wreck, stony floor that he could possibly squeeze into. No wonder it was empty. Sitting back on his haunches he closed his eyes trying to decide what to do next.

  • As night began to fall, dragons resided back into the crevices where they slept, only a few murmurs here and there, snoring and quiet bickering could be heard. It was somewhat dark in the cave now, but fires lit up small areas. Faron couldnt sleep much at all, not with a threat hanging over his head. A few dragons were also still up, and this included the night guards. It was a nice warm cave, comforting and not at all cold at anytime of the day, so dragons slept soundly. This truely was a blissful sanctuary, despite there being aggressive large reptiles around every corner. Dazing off, Faron lowered his head, listening quietly. But peace never lasted forever. It wasnt often that humans found caves like this- they were fairly well protected. But when they did it was a mass panic. So when the caves ceiling dropped a couple stones before ripping open to reveal moonlight, dragons stirred beneath. It was a rather small hole, nothing too worrisome- that was until the cave above rumbled and began to collapse. Faron heard of humans having access to exploding fire, but it was the first he witnessed in his lifetime. The cave was awake now, in a frenzy to get out, but smaller dragons were trampled and dragons were pushed to go out through the caves entrances. Faron himself was scared, Large rocks were falling from above like meteors, but soon stopped. The explosion was barely powerful enough to do much besides drop a couple stalactites, thankfully.

At this time others felt relief, but anger rose up as to how these people could have found this sanctuary. Accusations were thrown around, Guards were criticized. At this moment, for Faron and any dragon who could have been associated with humans in their life, this was a nightmare. Punishments, guilty or not, were brutal. Imprisonment or a good thrashing were the usual. But for something like this, the punishment weighed more. Exile was not just a permanent sentence, it was cruel, especially nowadays with the inventions of man. Outcasting wasn't only leaving the proximity of popular caves, it was being harrassed everywhere you went, because before being sent off alone, a lashing would be given to the culprit.

Faron thought of the branded dragon now. He was going to get out now, but he knew that the silver drake didnt deserve all the punishment at all. Huffing, he stood up, looking around through the rubble. Theres something he could forget, that somewhat familiar face. It took a bit of maneuvering through the crowd, trying not to gain any attention before he reached his goal. Lowering his voice to a murmur he tried for the others attention. “You need to leave, now.”

  • The silver beast found a place, near the back of the cave near a huddle of other dragons. Even though he didn't enjoy having other dragons that close he didn't have many other options either. Curling up somewhat grudgingly his pale eyes were lit in the low fire light. He kept his eyes open in case anyone spotted his brand and decided to start something. It seemed though that everything was relatively quiet and the drake started to lull into a sleep keeping his wings close to his body the entire time. Having dropped into some kind of dreamless rest he was snapped away when the first stones started to fall. For the dragons around him that was enough. They stood up and started to scramble up. He hissed as one dragon needlessly stepped on his wing. Quickly he got to his feet to keep from getting trampled to death. His body was tense he didn't move right away until the rumbling began before bits of it came down. There were loud cried of panic and alarm where it had come down. Eyes narrowed the moonlight forced itself in through a small hole and the blood in the silver dragon's veins ran completely cold. Humans. The most vile creatures that had ever existed. His teeth barred he whipped his head back as dragons began roughly shoving past him.

As soon as he stopped to think for a moment he knew all at once that if anyone saw the brand they would think he'd done this. Tucking his wing as tight as he physically could he started to try and snake his way through the crowds. Dragons were flocking this way and that. The main entrance to the cave he strained to look see and it was backed-up with dragons trying to either fly or run out. The large dragon nearly missed the green dragon beside him. It was only when he happened to see the flash of green out of the corner of his eye did Rajat turn to look at the dragon. He frowned slightly motioning towards the entrance. The guards were already starting to gather there to get control of the situation. "How? I don't know if there's another exit." He mumbled lowly looking around straining to see over the mass of dragon. Glancing down he realized that the green dragon was trying to help him, again. The large dragon flicked a silver wing open slightly to cover the green drake a little from being seen. Rajat still kept the branded wing clutched to his side eyeing the dragons around him.

  • This was a question he had yet to ask himself too. How? The exits were crowded. Then his mind thought of a different way. It wouldnt be a stealthy escape. And it wasn't one he was exactly eager to go through with." I dont think anyone in their right mind would want to do this. But It beats the alternative of taking the blame." He looked up towards the new hole in the ceiling."That is the only exit open. Its risky, but the hole is big enough to fly through. And as soon as we're out dont stop till you're in the clouds." he cleared his throat."but thats unless you want to try slipping by a bunch of angry dragons trying to find someone to blame."

  • The drake had been looked around, but his head whipped back to the smaller drake. "The hole that just got created by humans and their exploding fire?" He questioned keeping his voice as quiet as he could manage in the moment. Then he glanced briefly towards the exit where he caught a flash of the larger dragon from earlier that had been guarding the entrance. They would probably get picked out pretty quickly if they tried to get out that way. Raking his claws into the stony floor of the cave he gave a loud sigh slowly unfurling his other wing. The brand becoming much more visible. "Let's go then." He hissed softly. A dragon looked at him at the moonlight made the mark on his wing very obvious. The dragon let out a growl seeming to already be thinking he was to blame. Without wasting another second he shoved some dragons to give himself some space before starting his upward descent. He did look briefly down to see if the green drake was able to get up before flying quickly towards the opening hoping that they could get through.

  • Faron followed in pursuit, rushing to the escape and hearing the angry roars behind him. The hole was a bit smaller than expected, but they would be able to get through with a bit of force. Pushing himself through the opening wasn't hard, it was uncomfortable but easy. As soon as he was out he looked around, expecting to see humans. But... He didnt. He landed beside the hole, narrowing his green eyes. There was no sign of a human. But there was sign of something familiar. Large claw marks and prints. This wasnt human. And it made him sick to say it out loud." This is a dragons doing." The surface was scorched, and there was a hot liquid on some areas. Magma. The trees around the area were ablaze. This was bigger than just some dragon hunters.

  • Rajat had to tuck his legs close to his body to fit through the whole. Grunting slightly he winced as he managed to get through. Hovering in the air he looked down at the caves and dragons far below. He was surprised not to see any humans or their traps he would normally expect. Slowly he landed near the hole. Touching a claw to the edge of the charred rock he glanced up with a clear frown. "What would a dragon gain by doing this?" He asked out loud looking around very cautiously. The drake was confused as to what could be gain from breaking into the caves. He wondered if the dragon was still around here somewhere. From the claw marks it was a massive dragon he did not want to have to meet in a fight. He tucked his wing back up out of habit pale eyes gazing the shadows and then the sky to see if they could catch any movement. The blazing trees cast an eerie glow around everything.

  • "A very, very vengeful Dragon." He wondered what had happened to motivate this." But as far as anyone else knows, this is Just a bunch of dragon hunters." He looked at the blazing trees."and that the explosion caused a fire." He frowned."Luckily, I dont think anyone would recognize our faces. Besides a few." But outside at night, this was a bad place to be alone. And the fire must have already attracted some attention." I think its best if we stick together for the time being. Especially now that we're not in the sanctuary." He suggested, unsure if the silver drake would oblige. He just didnt want to stick around for an angry group of dragons or a really, really massive beast, or quite possibly humans.

  • “Vengeful indeed.” He mummered very quietly eyes focusing on the flames coming from the trees. Actual dragon hunters might be attracted with all the commotion the thought made him shiver as he glanced down at the brand shivering again out of habit. Hunters were the one thing that terrified him. Turning to face the green drake he weighed his options. Traveling alone just made them both very easy targets. Even though green dragons were typically avoided like the plague. This drake though had been helpful twice already. “I think you’re right. Let’s go before something comes.” Rajat said finally with a deep breath. They didn’t have much time to waste. Unfurling his wings he looked towards the sky. The dragon started to make his way up into the sky.

  • Faron lifted himself off the ground as well, flying well high enough to see over the smoky forest. He too was not fond of being with other dragons, since he was automatically pinned as a bad character to be around, and most green dragon familys arent close at all. Including his. Green Mothers only stayed with their hatchlings for so long, way shorter than usual. He wondered how it was for the silver drake. Speaking of silver drake, he flapped his wings and turned his long neck a bit to glance at the other." So, who are you anyway?" He was definitely not going to ask him about the mark, not yet at least." I'm Faron." He started.

  • Flying up higher to clear the smoke he cleared his throat with the smoke drifting in his lungs. The silver dragon had his eyes focused downwards as the fire seemed to already be spreading. The drake shook his head thinking the dragon had done a great job dupilcating the destruction of the hunters. Snapped out of his reflection he glanced over at the green dragon. It only now seemed to dawn on him that he had no idea what the green drake’s name was. It hadn’t mattered up until now. Rajat hadn’t imagined he would be traveling with another dragon. He flew slightly above the green drake. “Rajat. Nice to meet you Farron.” The silver drake rumbled trying to be as polite as possible, even though it wasn’t typical for him at all.

  • "Its a pleasure to meet you too Rajat." He gazed forward, luckily the fire was not too widespread now, and the smoke died down. He cleared his throat, maybe it wasnt best to sleep in a cave tonight, or maybe they fould find a smaller one to hide out. But for now he wanted to keep flying, far away from the sanctuary and fire.

It didnt take too long to make a good distance between the fire and them, and he was getting a bit tired. Luckily in the distance he could see an opening on the side of a cliff." We can stop there, it looks pretty vacant from here."

  • Letting more silence fall he kept his eyes straight ahead trying first to get away from the fire before he did much else. He could eventually start to feel his wings ache at first and then it got progressively more painful to keep flying. Rajat didn't say anything about it, not wanting to slow them down when they had already traveled a good distance. Glancing at Farron every now and again he rumbled an agreement at the suggestion to land. He looked at the cliff in the distance. The drake slowly decreased his altitude and aimed to land in the opening. The dragon took a look around clearly cautious on whether it was truly empty or not. Folding up his exhausted wings he peered into the darkness. It looked big enough for both of them at least.

  • He landed, feeling a great relief wash over him. It was vacant, any animla who lived here before had really faint smells. Usually he was way more cautious, but he just curled up in a comfortable spot and kept his mouth shut, as well as his eyes. It was a tiring journey, and he didnt have the energy or will to talk. He did, however, let a faint grumble out to at least give an indication he was going to sleep. In the morning he would try to scrounge some prey for them to eat.

  • Even despite how tired he was the dragon did still seem a bit more cautious until it was made clear that nothing lived here. Sighing he slipped in after the other drake. The silver dragon put himself close to the entrance in case of something happening. Curling himself up Rajat curled himself up as tightly as physically possible. Giving a stout loud yawn he stared out into the horizon for a while longer before finally giving in and letting sleep overtake him for now.
