  • waste time with a masterpiece

    Mommy wouldn't be happy with you right now.

    She wouldn't. He'd gotten into a scuffle with another apprentice and he'd lost. Taunted by them--You know your mom's a crazy bitch, right? Not surprised your sister went psycho--they wouldn't have dared to speak like that if she was alive. Nathanael didn't remember what he'd said back but the next moment, he was kicked into the dirt.

    Covered in muck, he limped back to camp and tasted blood in his mouth. Now came the arduous task of cleaning himself and the long-limbed catsune craned his head, using his teeth to pick out the leaf litter and twigs tangled with his jet colored fur.

    yinami hatake.

  • Littlestar was still a sore, raw open wound for most of the clan. Aron hadn't moved on so much as he had just... purposefully forgotten, like all other bad things that happened to him. He always conveniently forgot when he had been beaten half to death, tumbled off a cliff, had an anxiety attack that proved to be more embarrassing than anything else. It was all locked away and he didn't even bother to throw out the key. He missed her. He honestly had not gotten the chance to really be her friend, and if anything that was his only regret even before she had died. He'd lost his chance. He cared for her just as much as she cared for him, only out of pure obligation, and he knew he had no right to bitch and moan about how much he missed her when - god, how were her own kids holding up? Technokit was gone, and he hardly saw much of Nathanael or Aubrey or whoever else she had spawned. He didn't have the energy to feel bad for them, but the thought was still there, a look of concern clear upon the leopard's face as he wandered into camp. "Nathanael," he muttered as he approached the beaten catsune, tail thrashing behind him. "What happened to you?" Aron asked, taking a seat beside the male as he cleaned himself up.

    The next to approach was the direwolf. She gave a nod towards Aron, both in understanding and acknowledgement before trotting over to Nathanael in order to help him pick out the muck and everything. “Are you okay?” The Hatake asked, attempting to get out a twig.

        i swear i lived

    Nathanael seemed to be getting into quite a bit of mischief lately. Poe wandered over after spotting the younger male covered in mud and plodding back into camp. The guy looked angry and defeated, and the monarch was curious as to what exactly he had been doing. Aron and Yinami seemed curious as well, since they beat him to asking what was up. Poe stood nearby just in case, brown eyes narrowed slightly. Hopefully it wasn't another death; one due to self defense they could handle but two was a little more suspicious. However, since Nathanael wasn't freaking out, Poe doubted it was something as big as that.

    "I tripped," he answered back easily. He spat out the dried leaf in his teeth before his gaze turned towards Aron. "It's nothing to be worried about, really. Just dirt." As if to reassure the older HawkClanner, the catsune offered a small smile towards the leopard before he turned towards Yinami, who was the next to approach.

    Nathan shrank away from the girl as she tried to clean him as well. "Don't touch me, please," he stated sharply, drawing away from the young wolf. As he turned back towards his own ministrations, he spotted the leader in the corner of his gaze. Nathanael would offer Poe a small nod of greeting before getting back to cleaning himself.

    //Granted! Sorry about the late reply.

    Yinami backed off. What was wrong with him? She just wanted to help. Oh well. Maybe she could get him a rag of water or something. The child tilted her head, a confused look on her face, “Uh, then can I get you water or something?”

    His elongated canines were useful for something, thank goodness. The dark creature would run his tongue across his fur, rasping, and feel out chunks of mud and debris. Then, he used his teeth to extricate it. An ear twitched as he glanced over back at Yinami when she spoke and he was about to accept the offer at least, until he noted something awfully off about the wolf.

    His eyes narrowed slightly and then his ears flattened. Outside of that one incident with the loner at the border, Nathanael had never been spooked like this before and the catsune's ears flattened against his skull suddenly. Did anyone else notice it? He glanced over at Poe and Aron questioningly as if gauging their reaction as he backed away from Yinami one step or two.

    // no worries

    Yinami was waiting patiently for Nath’s response, flicking her ears back and forth. He appeared to be scared, almost. What was wrong with him? That’s when she realized: whatever was inside of her, the catsune just saw. And she remembered Percy’s words: “you might as well not even try to meet new people... they'll just reject you.” The direwolf shook her head, angrily growling at herself as she watched the actions— eyes narrowing, ears flattened. She attempted to have a friendly stance, tails up, ears perked, and eyes open. “C’mon! You really need water.

    "Please don't touch me," Nathanael finally managed as he continued to edge away from the wolf. There was an almost begging tone in his voice. Whatever she was, it made his skin crawl and brought an unpleasant sensation into his gut. It was as if he could feel his insides being churned slowly, guts being twisted together on a stick.
