For the new year, a calendar concept still new to Octavian, it seemed that all of his clanmates were looking forward to a new phase of their lives. Having been tasked with organising an activity for the new year, the direwolf had determined that a bonfire was in order. A cleansing bonfire in which animals could toss in old items they no longer wanted to hold onto, reminders of all the unfortunate developments of the previous year. He had invited the Riverside to the event, and after returning to BlizzardClan, the Paladin had quickly arranged for a bonfire. Currently, he stood in front of the tall blaze, his thick tail swaying quietly as he examined the glowing embers.

  • Chesspieces always loved a bonfire especially when it was below 30 degrees and snowing. The head medic was little hesitant about the roaring inferno as he approached. Watching Callingcosmos' house burn recently had left him somewhat scarred. But, after a moment and watching Octavian stand beside it without a second care, the fear of his disappeared. The canine stood a seat beside the direwolf. "A bonfire, uh?" Chesspieces inquired, peering gently at the male. "Any special reason?"

  • I'VE FALLEN AND I CHOOSE NOT TO GET UP —

Ah, this warmth was just what he needed. Carefully making his way forwards, the old canine hummed cheerfully to himself as he took a seat right next to the fire; tail thumping gently against the ground. "Ah... warms the old bones..." he'd sigh as he closed his eyes to bask in the warmth. Hopefully the smell of the fire would mask his smell, since he hadn't been able to... bathe in quite a long time. HIs fur was dirty and matted, and he probably had fleas but he lived alone so it was alright?

"Hey." Octavian offered a simple greeting as the other two males approached. He didn't know the Head Medic very well on a personal level, but he was a familiar face around the clan. Whereas Nicklaus was a newer member of BlizzardClan and Octavian recalled meeting him when he had first come to BlizzardClan. "Yep - New Years bonfire. I don't know if you got the word but you were free to bring any old items to throw into the fire - burn away the bad memories, that sort of thing." His black nose twitched, but the Paladin didn't comment on the new, foreign smell suddenly present. It was probably how all old animals smelled. And he didn't feel like getting chewed out for being ageist today. Not on New Years.

  • I'LL TAKE ANY DARE ivylee x. blizzardclan member samoyed she/her tags

A bonfire, for the new year? Ivylee wandered over, her curiosity peeked by the 'cleansing fire' event that was taking place. She couldn't help but approach, cozying up near the warm heat with a gentle smile visible on her muzzle. Quite honestly, she didn't really have anything to burn. Sure, she had some memories which she wish she could forget, but none of them reminded her through physical items. As for the items that she did have in her possession, well, she knew that she'd want to continue to keep those memories. But for now, the samoyed was happy sitting by the fire. Maybe she'd get to watch others burn things so that their burdens could be lifted? "This is really nice," she'd comment, offering a grateful nod towards Octavian. Even though she didn't have anything to burn, it would be enough to watch others overcome their terrible memories.

  • Fadingmoon

Fadingmoon padded forward, blinking at Octavian. So they were supposed to burn the bad memories? How did they do that, when they were so entangled in her brain? She offered him a tight smile, her gaze reflecting that she was kind of lost in thought about that. Suddenly awareness flashed in her eyes, as if she was just waking up. "I don't have anything to burn, but it's a lovely idea."

  • Did Shine have anything worth burning? Worth forgetting about? He hardly owned anything to begin with. A scarf, gifted from an old friend; he still used that from time to time. A necklace, which had originally been a gift to Heather... No way he'd ever let that go. Never let it burn in a fire. A flower crown, from Lessa... She'd definitely kill him for burning it. Not like he'd ever want to get rid of it.

Nothing to burn, it seemed. He'd be okay with simply sitting by the fire, to stay warm. Short fur didn't help combat the cold, after all. "Thanks for this, Octavian," the Riverside Delta stated, arriving to join the crowd.

  • Sugar lost track of time. If it hadn't been for everyone talking about the new year, she wouldn't of even noticed. She hadn't planned any resolutions. There were plenty of things that she could forget about, but at this point, she just counted them as a part of her life now. She grew up. She moved on. She didn't need to forget.

She still had one thing she wanted to burn, though. Sugar had opened up her inventory, conjuring up the remains of her old scarf. She collected what she could after she ripped it up. She didn't know why she really ruined it, and she wasn't here to dwell on it. She just wanted to get rid of it. The wolf hesitated a moment before throwing the tattered fabric in. She had the scarf for so long, and now she was just burning it. After hesitating for a few moments, she tossed it in the fire. Her eyes moved away from the fire, as she didn't really want to watch it burn. "Happy new year everyone." she decided to actually say something, even if it really wasn't much. She also decided to actually hang out by the fire for the time being. She was curious about what other things people might burn.

  • BABY PINK AND VERY EXPENSIVE —

hope would head over as well, observing the bonfire with wide eyes. the concept of an ally event was entirely new to her, given the fact that she had barely even adjusted to life with the riverside. still, the she-cat had been interested in life with other clans, and the only way to satisfy that curiosity was to interact with them. so, here she was.

she hadn't brought anything to burn, as the only things she owned were the earrings she was always wearing and a few trinkets from her kithood. she'd rather not part with the memories associated with those, and she really enjoyed the earrings. so she had come just to satisfy her curiosity about other groups and their members. still, hope couldn't help but cling to a familiar face, which was what led to her seated position beside shininglight, enjoying the warmth from the fire on her pelt. there was a pleasant atmospere and everyone seemed nice enough; she hoped she could strike up a conversation soon, grill someone about life with their given group, but she'd be content to simply sit and listen if that wasn't the case.

  • Ivan had followed closely behind Shine on the journey here. It just made him feel safer. He felt in danger and lost without Anakin- left his last orders to be served.

Perhaps, Ivan was a dog without a master.

But he was too stupid to think that.

Ivan, though, being told this was suppose to be a...cleansing. Removed his eyepatch. That side of his face was still damaged and scarred, yes, but Anakin had given him this eyepatch. The blue triangle.

Ivan threw it in the fire, and laid down, watching it burn. He’d get a new one.
