Constellationdreamer probably should have been spending more time exploring the Shadow Veil's new territory rather than wandering just outside the border in hopes of finding someone she knew other than Jiyu. It was almost obsessive, how she prowled along the border and a little bit beyond, unwilling to stray far from her home, but longing to find someone - anyone - still alive from her time. Perhaps she would find an old friend, or even one of her kids. In such a limited area, it seemed a little unlikely, but she wanted to try. It was only he second day in ShadowClan - the Shadow Veil, she corrected herself - and she was already wandering pretty far from the border, though she could still smell it faintly. She needed to find someone, to feel like her hunts for remaining family weren't in vain. It had taken her so long to find the Shadow Veil's new territory because she had taken frequent breaks to seek out her children or grandchildren. It was something she absolutely needed, to find someone she knew.

The cold had been hateful to him, the sheer impact of the wind itself painful against his short coat of fur. Perhaps that was why he had fallen back to using his old body- the one he had been birthed into the world as. It was only then that he seemed to be able to keep up with the weather that was brought to him. And even though he hadn't the fondest of memories about with his old body, mainly due to the fact it reminded him that he was quite personally the last of his family in terms of immediate relations to others, it was still better than freezing in the body of a doberman.
Shaking out his mildly maned head, the liger would instead look to the horizon as he caught a new scent on the air. The aroma he had caught on the wind smelled.. mildly familiar. The male couldn't quite guess where however, due to the long distance of time that had passed since he had last come into contact with his mother, or anyone really from the era in which he had been birthed into. As far as he was aware, everyone was quite simply dead and there was nothing much he could do about it. The only reason why he himself had lasted this long was due to a petty curse that he had received upon accepting the ranks of Darkclan. Oh it had been quite a horrible choice he had made, but at the time he had thought that immortality would do him better.
Squinting, the striped male would try to see who this stranger was. She had a build similar to him, although he could bet that she wasn't a liger. She was much too small, and it just didn't seem right in his mind. His best guess was that she was instead a tiger. The stripes were there, and she fit the image. What caught him off guard most about her though was her eyes. She had his mother's eyes. Sebastian didn't know how, or if it was just something he had been yearning to chance at seeing, but now that he thought about she sort of resembled his mother. Or what he remembered of her anyways.

Constellationdreamer found that many things had been hateful to her, though it had mostly been fate and her struggle to adjust to the new Shadow Veil. It was strange to have nearly nobody know her, and even fewer respect her like the leader she had once been. Although she would never consider herself particularly arrogant, she had somehow expected... more, when she returned after so long. But at the same time, she had gotten exactly what she deserved - a welcome as a normal member, and a call back to her roots. It had taken her nearly a year to become leader, and it was wrong of her to expect fanfare and tears at her return. This was practically a different world from the one she had died in, and so she would start over and make the best of it.
Starting over didn't apply to her trying to find old friends or children though. The golden tabby tigress wandered through unclaimed land, casting her turquoise and copper gaze around in the hopes of spotting a familiar form. Her search was close to hopeless, but she was still trying. She was a dog with a bone, unable to see past this current obsession as it tugged at her gut. As futile as it sounded logically, Constellationdreamer relied on the feeling in her stomach and throat, leading her forward until she spotted a figure on the horizon. And that scent - it had been so long that the scent was nearly gone from her memory. And it was so diluted, no longer the scent of ShadowClan that had clung to him. But undeniably, she recognized the scent of one of her own, although she was unsure which one.
The figure on the horizon looked so much like Paintbrush that she almost fell to the ground. No, she knew he was long dead. It couldn't be Paintbrush, but it could be another of her sons. Could it be Eden, who she hadn't seen in so long? Constellationdreamer pushed herself to a run towards the liger, begging whatever higher power there was that he wasn't some figment of her imagination, placed there to get her hopes up and then crush them. "Eden?" she called as she drew closer, heterochromatic gaze watery. She had always been an easier crier, and reunions had always pulled at her heartstrings. It was a recipe for happy tears, really.
-
As the stranger upon the horizon approached him, his heart fluttered hopefully as the resemblance grew. Was this.. was this his mother? After all these years, did she return for him? He had heard rumors that she had died, although he had never believed it. To him she had always remained living, even if it hadn't been in this dimension that he called home. And he had known that one day, that one day he just might see her again.
Stepping forwards, the liger would stumble towards the tiger as she called out his name, tears welling at his honey flavored eyes. "Yes m-mother, yes it is me. I'm Eden, a-and I'm so glad to see you" Sebastian would gasp, feeling his body beginning to tremble as he urged himself to go on. He wanted to fall into her arms, to hold her once more. It had been so long, and now it was time to reunite with the one who had always held strong for him and his decisions. When he had left home for Riverclan, she had supported his actions. Even when his loyalty lay to a clan enemy to her own, she hadn't let that change how much she cared for him. And now he got to see her again.
All the memories flooded back to the liger at once. Running wild with his sister Lifecub; discovering his magical power to sprout flowers from grassy surfaces; learning herbs from his big brother Paintbrush. All the happiness he had felt from his days as a cub swept back over him. Spending time with Commonwealth in the medicine den; watching his own mother become leader of Shadowclan; attending his father's funeral (oh he still missed Crookedsmile deeply regardless the fact he had never chanced at meeting the male).
-
It was Eden! It was her little boy! Constellationdreamer let the tears fall freely from her heterochromatic gaze as he stumbled towards her, confirming who he was and how he was glad to see her. She made the move to lean forward and press her head to his chest, as he had grown so much taller than him. He was all grown up now, and it had been so long since she'd last seen him. After he'd gone to RiverClan, she'd hardly gotten chances to visit him, but she was just happy that he was happy where he was. ShadowClan hadn't been for him back then, but RiverClan had, and she would never be upset with him for leaving for an enemy group. It didn't matter, as long as he was alive and happy.
"Eden, I missed you so much," she choked, unable to make herself sound collected and pretty and perfect when he baby was standing right in front of her and was alive. She'd thought that her searching would be useless, and yet she'd found one of her only remaining children, if not the only one. God, he was so grown up. "I'm so sorry for leaving you," she murmured, hoping he wasn't like Jiyu and bitter about her death and how she had abandoned everyone. She hadn't been able to help her death, but she was back now after so long, and wanted nothing more than to hold her child and cry until they both felt better. It had been far too long.
-
As his mother fell into his arms, he couldn't help but shiver slightly. It had been so long since he had last been touched by anyone really, but it was such a nice feeling all the same. Letting her sink into his chest, the liger would rest his head against her own. "I-It's okay mother, I'm sure you didn't mean to die" Sebastian would reassure, his voice still shaking out of astonishment. He was glad she had missed him, he had missed her too. She had been the only family member with at least a bit of respect for him. Sure Paintbrush had respected him too, but it had only lasted when he had been doing things appealing to Paintbrush's status. And then there was Henri, who had gone to so far that he had disowned Sebastian from the Leonidas family name. Of course though Sebastian had refused to drop the name, and instead had thought of the remodel as a dishonor considering those who had joined under Henri's "rule" of the family name hadn't been biological members. Instead they had been helpless followers of Henri who had only joined due to the fact that Henri had brainwashed them and that they wanted to be as close to him as possible. Or so Sebastian liked to put it. Perhaps though he had been pushing it at that point, and had only gone into thinking that due to his hate of being kicked out of the family his mother had started.

Constellationdreamer felt relief wash over her once more as her son told her it was okay, that he didn't blame her for dying. At the time, she hadn't wanted to die. She had wanted to live and get married and have more kids with Radiantmemories because she loved him. She wanted to have a long life with her family by her side, but it seemed like she would never get that. At least she had Jiyu and Eden still. It wasn't even close to everyone, but it was enough for now. At least she had someone. "Where have you been living? How have you been?" the golden tabby tigress finally caught enough breath to say, pulling away so that they could have a proper conversation without her just talking into the fur of his chest. Constellationdreamer wanted to know everything that had been going on with his life and the family since she had left. Who had taken over the family after her death? Were than any other Leonidas members still out there? She wondered if she had great-grandchildren or more.
