  • He was in a clearing, one he recognized as being part of RiverClan's old territory. Just that direction was the bridge and that way was the tree he had discovered housed a nest of baby birds he liked to watch. And, it was dark. Usually, he'd be in bed right now. But, he wasn't... obviously. That wasn't even the strangest part. The sky was not only black, but had streaks of red in it, something he'd never seen before. There was definitely something weird going on... Wait, how was he even here? It'd been forever since they left for the new territory. At least, that's what it felt like to Valemon.

He was looking around, having trouble comprehending what he was doing or what he should do now when he noticed something that hadn't been there before. Was that...? It was! The rising apprehension he was starting to feel faded just like that as he spotted Anakin. His father wasn't dressed in the white and brown he had been when he died, but the black armor from before. Val hardly noticed this or cared to think about why his dad was here, alive. It didn't matter. Valemon was going to be able to see him again, to feel the cold of his father's armor but know that there was life within it. He wouldn't have to be sad anymore.

Then, he looked on while Anakin left him again. There was a flash of light and the cub closed his eyes. When he opened them again, he saw his father fall to the ground. It was as if things were moving in slow motion. After what seemed like eternity, he heard the thump of armor against the ground. Anakin was still. Everything was eerily quiet.

The cub wailed. He had stood there, watching helplessly. Despite being scared, he wanted to move, to run to his daddy, but couldn't bring his paws to move. He couldn't even look away. Why was this happening? Then, just when he'd thought things couldn't get any worse, the largest creature he'd ever seen rose from behind his father's suit. Val felt a brief sense of relief when he realized that it was a black dragon, almost like Luciferus. But, this dragon was different than Luciferus. It's horns curled around the side of its face and the scales covering its body were dotted with red, almost like blood. When it opened its mouth in a snarl, he discovered that its teeth were similarly stained in scarlet. And, unlike his friend, this dragon didn't just look scary, it was an actual threat. Somehow, Valemon knew his father was gone, but still felt an intense urge to run to him, whether to protect Anakin from the monster or find comfort he wasn't sure. It didn't matter anyways, as he still couldn't move a muscle.

Instead, he was forced to watch as the yellow-eyed beast stared back at him. Although the dragon had done nothing yet, Valemon still found himself completely terrified, as if he knew what was about to come. Then, with one final roar, the creature lifted one of its large talons roughly five times the cub's size and brought it straight towards Val. He closed his eyes, preemptively wincing at the blow to come and then -

Val awoke with a start, finding himself right where he had been when he'd fallen asleep: at the edge of camp. After everything that had happened, Val couldn't bring himself to go inside the family den. It seemed so cold and empty now. Padmè might be worried for him, but he wanted to sleep alone. And, he had his father's cape to keep him warm. Anytime someone were to come across him on their way to their own home, trying to convince him to come inside, he would yell at them until they went away, refusing to move from this spot. Now, he was struggling to breath, to wipe the images he'd just seen from his memory. He'd never felt like this before, not when Sekai had disappeared, not even when his father had gone missing, too. He didn't know what to do. He wanted to be by himself, but at the same time, clutched at the cape wrapped around him as if it were the last thing on earth, desperate for not only the warmth it provided but the company. As he felt the tears begin to slide down his cheek, he buried his face in the fabric. It was as much a part of Anakin as the cyborg lion himself and Valemon felt like, now that he held it, he could never let it go. Sobs shook his body and, curled there, he continued to cry softly, completely at a loss for anything else.

  • ・゚ ✦ ° TRAGEDY BEFORE MY CYNICAL EYES - Sekai didn't think that Valemon, out of all people, would have liked to sleep alone. However, she figured with their father's cape, at the very least, the light-colored cub would have been okay. And Sekai? Well, she hadn't been able to sleep recently, it was very hard to get the sight out of her mind, and she wondered what she could do in order to make sure it never happened again. The muddy-colored cub had been walking around camp quietly, when she heard Valemon's cries. Snapping her head towards him, she ran over, trying to nuzzle him. “Val, Val, its okay.” She whispered gently to him.

  • Shine would have to resume his caretaker duties. Anakin was gone now, leaving behind two of his children in Riverside. He was somewhat confident that Sekai, the older sibling, would be able to handle herself. But Valemon? It was noticeable that the male lion acted slower than normal, not quite having a solid grasp on life. Val needed more time to learn. He was afraid to see how the young Skywalker would react to his father's death...

The Delta had been looking all over, trying to find the kid. Could have been anywhere in the entire territory, or outside it... Had he run off? Shine was beginning to think so, when he spotted Sekai nuzzling against a... black cape. Anakin's cape. He quickly made his way over, ears picking up the sound of Valemon's crying. "Val..." Shine said gently, like Sekai.
