The kitten was starting to learn about the terrible nature of leaf-bare; her weakest brother was always sick, Copperkit was always sick, and her own father had fainted from hunger just a day ago. And now her mother was sick. Well, Asterkit was tired of being told to do nothing but sit in the nursery all day, by the same warriors that could do nothing to stop the cascading reactions. Her home was starving, and these RiverClan intruders, periodically wasting their time over quarrels and stealing prey, were partly to blame. With determination in her heart, the young lilac point resolved to not be a burden to her home anymore.
If RiverClan thought they could steal prey from ThunderClan, then she would steal prey from RiverClan!
Being almost a moon shy of being apprentice-aged and already knowing the way to Sunning Rocks after a previous exploration trip, the young girl had an easy matter of retracing her steps and crossing the frozen waters. Stupidly brave? Most certainly, but she had enough cleverness in her to keep from getting herself killed. And it helped that her small size wasn't enough to crack the ice.
Now that she was on the other bank, though, catching prey turned out to be another challenge entirely. After all, the girl had never been properly taught how to hunt prey -- she'd only observed the apprentices as they practiced or playfully tried to mimic her uncle Harrierstrike as a game. Still, the girl was in a hunter's crouch and scurrying through the land, trying to find something to kill and worth taking back all the way to ThunderClan.
