the small black and white feline lay in her next, half lidded hazel eyes darting around the nursery as she shifted slight, careful not to crush her sleeping kit. shadowfire lay with her large, fluffy tail curled protectively around her only surviving kitten. with the death of her other children came a protectively nature with it, one shadowfire didn't realize she had. feeling the almost identical kitten shifting next to her stomach, pressing her front paws into her mother's belly as she stretched. watching the kitten's blue eyes snap open reminded the queen of her missing mate, harpwing, who disappeared not even a full moon ago. the tiny kitten jumped to her paws, nudging her mother's shoulder with her nose and gesturing towards the nursery exit. "be careful," shadowfire huffed as an answer, watching as her daughter scampered out of the nursery.
he tabby warrior's green eyes fluttered open as she woke from her dreamless slumber, her jaw stretching out in a yawn. when she noticed that most of the warriors were gone, creekheart pushed herself to her paws, pausing to nudge her brother a few times, before navigating her way out of the den.
littlewing grunted as he felt his sister's paw nudge him, hoping to wake him. the brown and cream tom rolled away as he heard his sister's paw steps fading as she left the warrior's den.
the retired white feline blinked open her beautiful blue eyes to darkness, the all consuming force. hollyburr stumbled to her paws before making her way out of the den, where she was greeted with the sunlight warming her fur.
