Patrick is open to interaction as well. He's just entering the city so he can bump into someone on there way somewhere, or new arrivals from the Caravan can try to approach him with questions/asking for instructions or something, not realizing that he's new there, as well.

i was thinking that the first professor that he was going to work with had a legitimate reason to cancel, and all the rest just canceled when they found out they'd have oswell (he's made a name for himself, but not exactly in a good way. he's a brilliant student, but reckless, very nosy and exceedingly stubborn)

i was thinking of making a female bandit that lives on her own outside Pestil and a male guard who is there to protect the caravan as well as help protect Pestil.

overall description: jakob is a shadow; silent, unnoticed, but always there. he is a sizable foe for mutant and human alike. he doesn't speak much, but when he does, his words are often cold. he isn't afraid of much, including death. most see him as a heartless man, but when he cares for someone, he'd put his life on the line for them. he doesn't care for most people, though, and will only protect you if its part of his job. even then, if you're not someone he cares for, he'd save himself first.

he grew up poor as a child and became a thief to feed his family. he got good at hiding from the law and sneaking around. his mother was crippled and his father left them when he was a toddler. since his mother couldn't find a job, his older brother worked a low paying one to get them by. it wasn't enough though, so once he was old enough, he took what little money he had and bought a gun. he then went beyond the border, which was dangerous and illegal, to hunt so he could feed them. he learned to track animals and, eventually, people. one day his mother grew ill and, without enough money for medicine, she passed away. his older brother, grief-stricken, left him and the town behind. jakob stayed behind and continued to steal as a living. though, still mourning, he grew lazy and was caught by a guard. the guard took him in, but told him that he would let him off if he let him train him. apparently he saw a "warrior" in jakob, so jakob agreed and trained under the man known as julian diaz. this man became like a father to him, so jakob joined the guard and became one of the best.

now he is being sent to pestil to help protect it since it is under siege from mutants.

overall description: holly is a stubborn- excuse me, determined young lady. once she sets her mind to something, it happens. she also has a bit of a temper, though few things really set her off. this girl can hold a grudge, trust me. you won't be easily forgiven by her. she's also very intelligent; good with medical and herbal practices, reading, and writing. she has a lot of pride, though, so never bruise her ego.

holly grew up with a doctor as a father and a spiritual leader as a mother. while her father focused on the black and white, scientific aspect, her mother focused on the spiritual and abstract way of thinking. she wanted to be a doctor like her father, so she leaned as much as she could growing up. though she also learned how to use herbal remedies and meditate from her mother. her older brother took more after her mother in a lot of ways. holly lived a rather normal life, as normal as could be, until her mother got the virus. her father did everything he could to save her but, in the end, his attempts were futile. she was turned and her father couldn't put her down. holly ended up having to kill her which has stuck with her since then, when she was fourteen. her father was bit by her mom, though, and refused medical treatment. he let himself turn and her older brother let him; keeping him chained up in the basement until he could find a cure. which was difficult since he had been studying under their mom and not their dad like holly. he refused to ask for holly's help, though, since he blamed her for their mother's death. "we could have saved her!" he had said and told her to leave and never come back. so she did. she gave up on being a doctor and left the borders with no intention of ever coming back. not but seven miles out did she come across some bandits. they took everything she had. one of those bandits was wilson knox. in a rage, holly had attacked wilson and ended up scratching his face with her dagger; leaving a scar they would laugh about in years to come. wilson came to like her and the bandits took her in; teaching her their ways. a couple of years later, wilson became holly's first love. the two were planning a future together when he was killed by a guard when they were raiding a caravan. he was shot in the head right in front of holly. after he was buried, holly left their group; unable to be around anyone.

for a year now she has been on her own, now closer to pestil hoping to raid the next caravan or unlucky traveler.
