Silent Night (A Reindeer Herd Survival Thread, with a Christmas Twist)

• Nothing too inappropriate.
• No fighting OOC, you can IC.
• You cannot have a relationship or kill anyone else’s character without the owner of said character’s permission.
• No goddmodding, Mary Sues, or other OP characters.
• The thread will start off with Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph. As the thread goes on and relationships start developing, then there can be original characters.
• Despite the stupid premise, this is not a goofy, silly holiday thread. This will be more along the lines of a herd survival thread like horse or deer RPs.
• Deer are not the same as reindeer. (Main difference being their appearance and the fact that both boy and girl reindeer have antlers)
• Try to be as realistic as possible.
• Despite the above mentioned rule, any reindeer can be any gender you want.
• LGBTQ are welcomed.
• I would prefer if your pictures were either semirealistic looking drawings or real life photographs of reindeer. No overly cartoony clipart or anything like that. (Sorry if it seems like I’m taking this random and dumb idea too seriously)
• Any gender can be any rank.
• At the beginning of the thread, all of Santa’s reindeer are either young adults or adults, with the exception of Rudolph, who is an adolescent.
• The thread will start off when the reindeer first wake up after the crash.
• Have fun!
• Write your favorite holiday snack in the Other section if you read all of the rules.

Herd Leader(s):
The Herd Leader is the head of the reindeer herd. Their job is to make decisions that determine if the herd will survive or not. They organize meetings, assign ranks, and give orders. They are the ones to lead the herd on expeditions to find new territories. Usually there are two Herd Leaders, because usually the first Herd Leader has a mate who becomes the second leader.

Second in Command:

Like the title suggests, the second in command is the next in line once the Head Leader dies. In the mean time, they help out around the herd, making appointments, leading warriors into battle. They can even serve as a watchman, making sure no predators are coming their way.

Healers:

Healers are the medics of the tribe, finding plants, roots, herbs, and spices to heal the sick and the injured. They are heavily protected by the herd, as they are an important asset.

Warriors:

A warrior’s job is to protect the herd from invaders, enemies, rivals, and predators. They will even fight in battle if necessary. Warriors are also usually the ones to travel out in search parties for a missing teammate or to find herbs for healers. They also surround the rest of the herd when traveling, to protect them.

Guardians:

Guardians are reindeer that will watch over and take care of fawns whose parents are too busy, or dead in some cases, to take care of them.

Elders:

Elders are the old and respected reindeer, usually spending time telling legends and stories to fawns.

Apprentices:

Apprentices are adolescent reindeer, who train to either become a healer or a warrior. Some even train to become a guardian in some rare and desperate cases.

Fawns:

The youngsters of the herd, they play and are heavily protected by the rest of the herd, but they otherwise don’t have jobs until they are older.

Personality: Vixen is cunning, manipulative, and quick on her hooves. She’s very intelligent and has a feisty spirit. She may have a snarky sense of humor and she may be a bit stubborn, but she will always come through and protect her herd.

History: Vixen was the very first female reindeer to be put on Santa’s sleigh team. She has a history with all of the other members and has grown to care for her teammates. She used to playfully tease Rudolph’s nose, but once she found out they were genuinely hurt from her and the other reindeer’s teasing, she became incredibly guilty and is now fiercely protective of the youngest member of the team.
