    ( sunstar )

    there was darkness, not even the sun glaring in his face would disrupt this isolation. nothing was around him, not even the tree where he sleeps. looking around the maine coon tried to figure out where he was. that is when it hit him. he was dreaming. sunstar started to walk in the dark void, ending up in a clearing where it showed his beloved mate. around her were three small balls of fur, which created a loving feeling in him that he haven't felt in a long time. the closer he got the more whole his heart felt. that was until his eyes flutter open and all there was is the dark den in a tree. with a heavy sigh the large tom stretched out his body before stalking out of his den to greet his cats.

    ( rosepetal )

    everything was bright as always for the feline, her sleek body escaping the warrior den for which she slept. blinking her forest eyes, she searched the area for something to occupy her active mind. seeing nothing much was needed, she walked over to the prey pile to start grooming herself. each stride of her tongue pulled her fur out, untangling the mess of her bed fur. after a good few moments of grooming her head twisted around to eye the pile of prey. there were some fish and rodents, which were her favorite. picking up a mouse, average sized, she started to eat her morning meal before heading out to do her duties.

    ( cloudpaw )

    still sleeping, cause he is a lazy bum.

  • Kestrel-light || Medicine cat || Interacting w/ open

    It was hard to keep her eyes open as she sorted through her herb storage. Due to her curiosity and racing mind, Kestrel-light had remained awake the whole night and well into the morning. Now, here she was, eyelids drooping as she finished putting her unused herbs back into their rightful place. The medicine cat was always thinking of ways to combine herbs to yield better results, though half the time nothing seemed to work. Letting out a soft sigh, the molly rose to her paws, stretching her legs before escaping the den and emerging into the pale morning light. It seemed some of the other clan members had already awaken; Sunstar, Rosepetal and Wildheart among them.

    Wildheart || Warrior || Interacting w/ Rosepetal

    His leaf green optics flashed open as he felt the warmth of dawn creep into the den. His sandy colored coat dappled with light that filtered in through the walls - looked like the dens would need some patching up soon. Releasing a yawn, the massive tom rose to a crouch end exited the den. It was rather annoying that he couldn't enter or exit the den without needing to crawl, but it the entrance was any bigger, it would let even more cold air in. Shaking out his short pelt, the tall tom made his way towards the fresh kill pile, noting that a fellow warrior was already there. With a smile on his muzzle, Wildheart greeted her.

    "Good morning, Rosepetal. Did you sleep well?" the tom inquired, his claws hooking into a fish and pulling it towards himself to eat.

    Asterpaw || Apprentice || Interacting w/ noticing Cloudpaw

    The blue tom grumbled as he heard commotion within camp. It already seemed some of the warriors were awake and ready to begin their day; which meant Asterpaw and the other apprentices would have to be up and out of the den before their mentors came for them. With an annoyed sigh, Asterpaw sat up in his nest, blue eyes narrowed with annoyance as he quickly groomed his short coat. Once finished, the tom peered around the den, noticing a white sleeping forming not far from himself. The right thing to do in this situation would be to awake Cloudpaw, but knowing who Asterpaw was, one could assume that wouldn't happen. With a sneer, the older apprentice rose to his paws and exited the den, the bright morning light assaulting his optics, causing him to take a moment and allow them to adjust.

  • In the thickly wooded conifers that made up clan territory, sunlight was typically blocked from reaching the forest floor. Within the shelter of Evergreenclan's secure dens, the protrusion of light was even less likely. And yet, somehow, one lone beam managed to make just the right angle to directly shine upon Darkpaw's eyelids, evoking his awakening from a very deep sleep. With one heterochromic eye sliding open, followed momentarily by the other, the apprentice glared pointedly at the light in question before it hurt too much to continue to stare into.

    With a groan of reluctance, he rose up on two short legs, arching his back in an unnecessarily long stretch. A shiver ran through his spine, ending with a lash of his tail once it reached its tip. The little tom peered around the apprentice's den lazily, before his mismatched gaze fell upon a ball of white, still curled up asleep. Mischief gleaming in his eyes, Darkpaw slowly crept to the edge of the nest before pouncing upon Whitepaw with a shout of: "Fox attack!"

    the feline glanced over to the other warrior, her green optics blinking to the sudden scenery. turning back to her meal, she ate the last final bites before cleaning off her maw. it was nice having small conversations with others, since she never did have much time to do so. bowing her head in acknowledgement to the other, she answered his inquisition. "good morning to you too, wildheart. i had a splendid rest last night as always. being in such a den full of cats makes it warm to the touch." looking over to the apprentice den, she already heard some meows of excited beings. shaking her head lightly, the felines gave her pelt one last grooming before continuing the talk. "i hope you had the same experience? being such a larger cat you might be giving us smaller cats all the heat." with a small chuckle the feline knew all too well that wasn't the case. unlike the other, she had a longer pelt while he had much shorter fur.

    ♛cloudpaw

    the apprentice enjoyed his rest, always away from other within his dream but that wasn't always the case. he would have frequent nightmares of the death of his family, and himself if he was lucky. though today was one of those days he wished he was dead. being awoken from another tom cat, a very prankster one, all he did was open his blue eyes and stared at him. "darkpaw, you think i am mouse brained to believe that? there is no scents or other cats yowling of foxes." taking this chance as a wake up call, the feline stretched out his pure white body to finally stand up. looking at the other one last time, all he did was give a small sigh. "if you have so much energy to wake me up and not get ready for training, then you really are mouse brained." letting that linger in the air, the feline walked outside of the apprentice den to be greeted with much larger rays of sun. the tom flinched in this light, for his blue optics particularly did not like such a bright gaze in one go. over time his vision got used to the light and simply waited for his own mentor to wake from his slumber.

  • The brief pleasure Darkpaw feels in disrupting Whitepaw's rest is promptly forgotten as he's reprimanded, annoyance triggering the angry twitching of his whiskers as the other apprentice leaves the den. His maw drops open to yell something in response, only for his voice to come out in a dry, rasping cough. Heat washing over him self consciously, the cat stormed in one big circle, fur rippling as he cleared his throat.

    Popping his head out of the den did little to get him anywhere, for he'd already been left behind. With a sweeping glare about the camp, Darkpaw took up residence in the entryway to the space beneath the boulder, muttering to himself fiercely; "Cats like me don't need to get ready, I'm ready all the time!"

  • Thistlestalk

    Tom | Warrior | Mate: Open | Apprentice: Cloudpaw

    Thistlestalk woke up upon hearing other cats stirring, including the commotion in the apprentice's den. He gave a soft groan as he stretched his body, then sat to groom himself. He twisted to get the knots from sleeping out of his long coat, working patiently and not entirely wanting to handle whatever shenanigans the apprentices were up to. Soon he was done though, and with a sigh, he stood to his paws and exited the den to see what Cloudpaw was up to.

    Chivepaw

    Tom | Med. Cat App. | Crush: Open?

    As he exited his den, Chivepaw took quick notice of his mentor's tired state. One ear fell back as he approached her, curious and worried. He tilted his head slightly before asking, "Kestrel-light are you alright?" She seemed exhausted, and he couldn't help but feel like perhaps a nap was in order. He waited for her answer though, wanting to hear what she had to say about it before he began trying to make her rest some.

    ((Seeing as she's the only queen on the roster, should I assume that in addition to any kits of her own she's fostered Stormeyes's kits?))

  • Kestrel-light || Medicine cat || Interacting w/ Chivepaw

    The molly watched as the warriors went about their morning. Eating some fresh kill before their long day of patrolling and hunting for the clan. It was an honor to be any rank within the clan, because everyone played an important role in keeping the clan going. As she passed her tongue over her maw, a voice could be heard from behind her. It seemed that her apprentice, Chivepaw, was awake and ready to begin his day. Smiling, Kestrel-light peered over at the dilute calico tom, her green eyes meeting his own. "I am perfectly fine, Chivepaw, there's no need to worry" the medicine cat purred as she licked the top of the apprentice's head affectionately.

    Wildheart || Warrior || Interacting w/ Rosepetal

    The warrior smiled fondly at her response, happy to hear that she was well rested "I've rested well myself, though entering and exiting the den has become a bit of a hassle as of late" the tom chuckled before biting into the flesh of the fish he had chosen for his morning meal. Wildheart chewed slowly, savoring the first bite before quickly finishing the rest of his prey. "I'd have to say, the cats giving the most heat would have to be you and the other long coated warriors"

    the feline couldn't help but chuckle about his height, which in deed was taller than most cats. watching his body move in every direction intimidated her in the slightest. her sight landed on her apprentice, which seem upset over something that happened. ``my dear darkpaw, come here.`` her tail swayed lightly to only lay to her side, before her optics gazed at the warrior she was talking to before. ``i agree with such inquiry, but with such a large mass of body you could produce a lot of heat.`` standing up slowly, the molly stretched out her frame to only shiver from the cold chills she had. ``if you have no things plan, why don't you come with darkpaw and i with training. im sure the young feline would love seeing two cats par.``

    ♛cloudpaw

    seeing his mentor stalk outside of the warrior den, the white cat walked over in a low stance. his tail was swaying at a low pace and his blue optics starring at the other. ``good morning,`` he muttered. silently he sat down near the other, thistlestalk, and stared at his build. of course, he was taller than the feline but again the warrior is older than himself. pressing his paw against his ears, slowly he groomed himself as he spoke once more. ``so what is the duties today,`` he questioned.

    Waiting on chivepaw

    Wildheart || Warrior || Interacting w/ Rosepetal

    He couldn't help but chuckle at her statement. Indeed, it was true that the tom was on the larger side - seeing that he was a hybrid and all. It was most certainly a fact that he produced enough body heat to warm the whole den, though seeing that others were significantly smaller than he was, it meant that the den itself was smaller as well. Wildheart had been contemplating on just sleeping out of the den on his own, just so he wouldn't have to strain his back. Upon hearing her inquiry, the tom lifted his muzzle from his meal that he had just polished off "As of yet, it seems I have nothing planned for my day other than a border patrol around sun high" the tom mused in reply "So, I'd love to venture out with yourself and Darkpaw, it would a pleasant experience seeing that I have yet to be given an apprentice of my own." A smile graced his features as he spoke to the red molly, admiring how the sun caused her pelt to seem like a burning flame. No, Wildheart was not bitter of the fact that he lacked an apprentice - he assumed it was due to his size and how he could accidentally harm apprentices while training them.

    Kind of waiting on Stormeyes to make an appearance

  • ♚rosepetal

    the feline nods her head, seeing how the tom actually agreed to her request. her gaze slowly glanced away from him, not wanting to stare too much at his much bigger form. the sun gave her the warmth that she loved, giving her fur one last shake before looking over at the other again. ``there are kittens that will be apprenticed soon, maybe you will have one for yourself then.`` with a small chuckle she walked around the other in a fun and playful manner. ``i can teach you have to be a mentor, so you can easily teach one when you do get it.`` walking towards her apprentice, her tail flicked at his maw playfully. ``come on little one,`` she teased.

  • Hearing the elegant call of his mentor, Darkpaw snorted half heartedly, critically observing her from his stance near his den. What did she want him over there for, next to that mountainous tom, Wildheart? What business did he have with such a hulking warrior, neither relative nor a fellow mentor? With a 'hmmph', he ground his paws against the forest floor before creeping sullenly into the open campground, feathery tail carving a path through littered pine needles as it dragged after him.

    Halfway in his trudge to Rosepetal, Darkpaw noted the tone of her voice as she lead the warrior towards him. Narrowing his eyes, he paused to let them come towards him instead, whiskers twitching with growing sourness. And what's with that? Are they flirting? Am I supposed to focus on training while they moon over each other? I don't want that! Take me seriously!

  • ♚rosepetal

    darkpaw my dear, jealously will get you no where.

    the she-cat looked over to her apprentice, seeing how his behavior changed about her little actions. even a she-cat like herself needs some time to fool around with others. ``darkpaw, chin up. you keep sulking like you are now i will send you on elder duty.`` as if her whole personality changed she glanced over her apprentice one last time. his stance was one she did not accept, nor will she let him have such a stance. ``correct your posture, you are to be warrior yet you can't even look proud enough to be an apprentice?`` lashing her tail she flicked one of her ears before continuing her scolding. ``wildheart will be attending us with training, a few pars will help you with your battle strategy.`` her fluffed tail sweeped the ground below her, the feline's stance tall and proud with little submission seen in her. despite her harsh come out she still loved the apprentice, but there are times she knew they had to be rough to teach the little ones.

    taking a bit of breath she looked at the two toms, whom were very different. one was a dark pelted feline with shortness added, while the other is fairly tall with bright colors. it almost made her chuckle to the appearances, though she quickly hid the urge as she looked at darkpaw one last time. ``now come on, i dont have all day.``

  • With an incredible amount of disdain, Darkpaw lashed his tail violently once more, tilting his chin up to squint at Wildheart. With little regard for the initial commands he'd received, the apprentice gave a soft scoff before pacing to Rosepetal's side. Everybody seemed to be in the mood to pick on him today for such minor things; What was next? A scolding for his ears being set at the wrong angle? Peering up at the ginger she-cat, he made a point of flashing a disapproving look to his apparent opponent for the day.

    "But Rosepetal," Came out Darkpaw's voice in a whine, purposefully failing to acknowledge Wildheart. "There's no way this is a fair match-up! Look at how big he is! How am I supposed to strategize when he could flatten me?! I can't move faster than his size can cover, and he's a fully trained warrior, too- It won't be the same if I fight something else big, like a fox!"

  • ((Apologies, I was busy and fell asleep early.))

    Thistlestalk

    Tom | Warrior | Mate: Open | Apprentice: Cloudpaw

    Thistlestalk didn't take much time to think about what to tell his apprentice, having had decided it much earlier. "Have you eaten? I was planning on training for a bit and then going for a hunt," the older tom replied simply. He almost purposefully made himself seem taller than the smaller white tom, trying to maintain the posture of a proud warrior. Really, he was using training to decide where he wanted to take his apprentice to go hunt. He would also drop by the fresh kill pile soon to see what wasn't there.

    Chivepaw

    Tom | Med. Cat App. | Crush: Open?

    Chivepaw's curled ears fall back slightly as his mentor licked his head. Though he tried to muster up a purr or some other positive indication in response to the affectionate gesture, he couldn't help but give her a concerned look. "If you say so," he responded, trying for a smile anyway. He knew he shouldn't doubt his mentor, but he also couldn't help but worry about her. That was part of the job, he supposed. He would just have to keep an eye on her throughout the day, and take notice of any unusual behavior. Then, hopefully, he'd be able to help.

  • Kestrel-light || Medicine cat || Interacting w/ Chivepaw

    A purr rumbled within her chest as she noticed her apprentice's concern for her well being. Rising to her paws, the tabby smiled down at the tom, obviously proud to have him as her apprentice "Now, no need to worry about me right now. Lets get something to eat and them head out - we need more yarrow, tancy and cobwebs" the molly mewed as she turned towards the fresh kill pile, her tail waving in the air.

    Wildheart || Warrior || Interacting w/ Rosepetal & Darkpaw

    The tom smiled when the warrior offered to teach him how to mentor, though when he was going to reply, the molly seemed distracted with speaking to her apprentice. He noticed the looks Darkpaw gave him and automatically knew what was bothering the young tom - his stature. No one really wanted to spar with Wildheart due to his immense size and height, but they don't realize how helpful it actually is.

    "My size and stature may be larger than your own, but you have to realize that there will be times you face a much larger opponent - be it an enemy cat, or a fox. Being your size, take advantage that you are much more swift and agile than someone of my size. You could easily get around me, yet all I have in my favor his heigh and weight, you have yhe element of surpirse and swiftness aiding you"

    Wildheart sent a soft smile towards the apprentice, hoping he'd discontinue with his bitter feelings and perk up a bit.

  • Sorry for inactivity, just been busy with the holidays and family.

    Gay Tea yes, Firecloud can have nursed Stormeyes kits if you would like.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Stormeyes had been awake long before the clan started waking, having had yet another dream about his birth family. He had been trying to move on from what had happened several moons ago, but the memories were still fresh in his mind. He got to his paws as other cats started to emerge from the Warriors den, and made his way towards the freshkill pile to get something to eat for his kits before he started his duties.
    Riverkit was curled up with her two siblings, still asleep in Firecloud's nest. Even though the three weren't the queens kits, they were still well taken care of.
  • The patient way in which he was received drew Darkpaw's attention back to Wildheart, now somewhat curious. Almost self consciously, his eyes flickered up to Rosepetal before sliding down to his paws. Paws much too close to him to say much for his leg length. Having been talked down from a tantrum into a safer stage of simply pouting, he let out a sulky murmur, anxious to confirm the comment. "I am pretty fast. Faster than I look."
  • Chivepaw
    Tom | Med. Cat App. | Crush: Open?
    Chivepaw cheered up a bit and nodded at her words, remembering that they had other duties they had to attend to. He followed his mentor towards the fresh kill pile with his tail high, being very proud of his position. At the fresh kill pile he quickly plucked up a mouse and ventured closer to the medicine cat den to eat his morning meal. He couldn't help but purr to himself, as he was actually looking forward to gathering the things they needed. He liked being able to wander out of the camp, and it was also a good time to keep an eye on his mentor. He had somewhat of a plan, but it was more of a precaution. Curiously, he waited to see if Kestrel-light would come eat with him before eating his mouse.
    Firecloud woke up and yawned silently, trying to shake the sleep from her body without disturbing the kits. With sleep still in her eyes, she leaned over to lick the kits at her side, purring affectionately as she watched over them. It gave her a great satisfaction to know that the kits were safe, and she felt at ease. From inside the nursery she couldn't quite detect the time of day, but by the sound of cats stirring outside, she assumed it was relatively early. The camp was coming to life after a night of sleep, and she expected to see Stormeyes come to visit his kits.
    the feline sighed, seeing how this was getting no where. ``come on kittens,`` she meowed before dashing out of sight through the entrance of the camp. her eyes flashed, and with her dark red colors, it almost blended with the dark colored trees. she gave no warning of her random rush, but in hopes the two toms would figure out that she wasn't going to slow down for them to catch up. before she knew it the warrior was in the field, where she first learn how to fight and hunt. taking in a deep breath, she scented the area around here. rodents filtered the air, each having a different smell than the other. mice tend to smell more earthy than squirrels, and birds had little scent on them as well.
    turning around, she waited for the two as she sat in the middle of the clearing. her tail was elegantly curled around her paws as her green eyes narrowed in the direction they were coming from. rosepetal was in full mentor mode, not the motherly cat she always in the camp. being outside camp is a life or death situation, and she was not going to be easy on the younger cat for him to learn that.
    ♛cloudpaw
    the apprentice glanced at the pile, seeing how many started to make their meals from prey that has been caught the day before. pressing his ears back, the tom took a small huff to explain himself. ``no, nor do i feel like eating.`` pressing forward, he ran his side against his mentor, wanting to go along with this training. getting out of this camp made him feel safer, able to control his fear of being with others. with a small meow, the younger cat tried to nudge the older cat near the entrance of the camp. ``i will eat when we return, so let's go train already.`` the white feline puffed his fur out, being stubborn on this one topic.
