  • Hello hello! So I've recently gotten into the practice of minimalist landscapes, which has proven to be fun as hell, and I've created these three art pieces as follows in the order of their conception.

    A Day's End

    The Island

    [image='1869','original'][/image]

    Impending Doom

    [image='1892','original'][/image]

    The last one is the darkest of the three, and my most recent, and taken altogether, they tell a story of sorts: a beauteous island, full of wonder and mystery, sitting on the edge of destruction. I really want to turn this into a roleplay somehow, so any ideas?

  • Interesting, it could be the story of the end of an island, or perhaps the backstory of the lands calamity before the rp starts maybe. Would you be making it as a dragon rp as you seem to have an affinity for dragons?

    I feel as though Impending Doom could infact be the birth of some dragon, as once the moon was an egg the volcano could be a huge incubator for a parent-less egg, but upon the hatching of the egg or something else perhaps the volcano erupted or overflowed?

  • Perhaps the impending doom represents a prophecy of a fire dragon which will be awoken at the eruption of the volcano. Its intent is to destroy the race of humans, and a cult believing in the rightness of ending their species has come to worship it.

    Perhaps the rp is the plot of the 'good people' fighting this cult?

  • I like both Jester's and Shadow's ideas, they're really good. One of my other friends suggested a similar idea to Shadow's regarding a 'shipwrecked' plot, as well. Maybe the castaways could learn secrets of the island regarding the birth of the fire dragon, and how to prevent it from destroying the island.

    In regards to the island itself, I'm thinking the idea of a time capsule of sorts: there are dragons, yes, but also various other creatures inhabiting it, both part of Earth's scientific and mythical history.

  • Perhaps there are a small town/clan of people on the island, and even though the folk shipwrecked want to get home, they get attached to the ways of the people?(perhaps they have a unique code or strangely peaceful views since theyre the only inhabitants?)

  • maybe the island fit into the ecosystem perfect like the dodo birds did till we brought them rats and mice they suddenly didn't fit in and they ended up getting hunted down and just plain dying off, so maybe something should come to the island that just throw everything off and suddenly things on the island are dying and as a last resort to save the place the dragons agree to leave the island after "purifying" it by fire A.k.a Valcano only to return to it years later.

  • In a world full of beauty and mystique, creatures more alluring than any other roamed the earth. Dragons were massive and graceful, more elegant than even the nimblest of elves. Their scales would glimmer under the light like iridescent stones, but they were as strong as any metal- stronger, actually. Bullets and knifes couldn't penetrate them, and dragons responded with lethal force, their speed and agility combining to make them a deadly foe. Their claws could rip their flesh and earth alike, and their molten breath burned cities to the ground.

    Humans waged war on them, tearing their nests and pods apart with fire and blood. The dragons defended themselves, turning from once docile creatures to snarling beasts equipped for war.

    Their island, once a place of magic and grandeur, was attacked, and eggs were stolen, broken, destroyed. Dragons raged from the loss of a generation, for they were hard to breed- they lived long, but reproduced slowly. The island burned as the fire inside them did, and it changed, burning rather than glowing with their former beauty. The mountains erupted, lava flowed freely, and the forests burned. Dragons had more eggs, but as they hatched the beasts were feral, destroying humans and their homes as they saw fit.

    People took refuge, and humans shielded themselves from attacks, and the war went cold. Years passed, and tensions died down, but people still feared the beasts.

    Few dragons strayed from that of their species, but they had hatched from the eggs that had been stolen. Kingdoms commanded them, used them in war, and the beasts had grown loyal to humans, protecting them from others of their own kind.

    Eggs became a black market item, and as nations grew stronger, it became an occupation to steal more.

    From this the Riders were created, a group of fearless warriors ready to defend the dragons and their young, even if it cost them their lives. They were born with the qualities, magic running through their their veins and dancing across their skin. They could control the fiercest of beasts, claim them as their own mounts, and battle together like brothers of war.

    These Riders were feared among the armies of the kingdoms, for their gifts were well known, and their hostility in battle struck terror in their enemies. They stole eggs and returned them to the island, and freed the beasts humans managed to capture.

    Riders were born human, but as they grew older they changed, and the Rider Clans adopted these special few. They took on Elvish appearances, and naturally mimicked their beauty and strength. They could fight the best of any beast, and outsmart any trickster with their wit.

    Riders were dreaded for good reason, because their abilities went beyond that of any other. A single man could kill fleets of others with ease, and they didn't stray from their duties.

    A bond was formed between man and dragon as these Riders came together, and from this the Dragon Riders were born.

  • Okay ig it's done heh the end kinda sucky.

    Just an idea i was going to use for one of my own threads, but didn't really know how to put it down. I was going to incorprates features from the Avatar world called Pandora.
