  • SOMETHING SO MAGIC ABOUT YOU!

    Berrykit - male - 4 moons - kit - Thunderclan - easy

It was cold, cold, cold. And everyone was so hungry because they hadn't been able to really make it out of camp, and when they did prey was scarce. Berrykit was growing more and more anxious when he looked around at his siblings and saw them growing smaller from hunger. He was sitting outside the nursery, staring a spot in the snow by the entrance, just big enough for a kit to wiggle through. He needed someone to go with him, but he didn't want to bring any of his siblings because if they got hurt that would break his mother's heart. Thinking for a moment he peeked his head back into the nursery. It was very early morning, so everyone was still asleep. He padded over to the nest where Squirrelkit lay and prodded at her gently, then he whispered, "Squirrelkit...Squirrelkit. I'm going to sneak out to hunt. Do you want to come with me?" How could anyone turn down his offer, when he had such a charm to his voice, and a cute smile plastered on his face.

  • At the prodding of Berrykit, Squirrelkit awoke to find him speaking to her. What he said didn't quite register at first, due to her just having woke up. She'd had an odd dream about playing with the other kits, except she dreamed that the kits were all little foxes. This was probably due to a recent event happening, about a fox attacking the nursery. With a short, suspicious glance towards the hole that the fox had out on the bottom of the nursery wall - now looking much better due to the efforts of other cats to repair it - she realized that Berrykit had asked her to go hunting. Blinking the sleep out of her eyes and slowly sitting up, the she-kit had a curious but doubtful expression on her face. "But we're not supposed to," she mewed. That's what the apprentices and warriors are for! But still, she couldn't help but feel interested. The other kit had a certain charm about him that struck Squirrelkit's kit-like curiosity. Her ears were perked, showing interest, though she didn't voice said interest. Still, her curious gaze silently prompted Berrykit to keep talking. She'd never been hunting before, and she didn't really spend much time with other cats aside from her (NPC) mother, either. So this could be a pretty cool experience.

He nodded along with her words to put her at ease, that he understood the concerns. "You're right we aren't suppoooooseed to. But right now, the camp is snowed and barely anyone has been able to make it out! The clan is starving! And I found a little hole just big enough for a kit to get through...so if we could catch something and bring it back, it would help a lot! And I don't want to go alone, my mommy tells me to always have a buddy. And I want you to be my buddy" He winked softly at the end of his long speech, though he had been whispering so they wouldn't wake anyone up.

  • OOC: Sorry about the late reply! Was busy with school things, but now that we're on break, I should be fine!

IC: The thought of helping others was able to spark even more visible interest from the kit. If she could be of service to her clan, it'd be great! She pondered the idea in her head for a bit, jaw moving around and eyes rolling as she thought. Then she stopped moving around and looked straight at Berrykit, finding her answer. "As... As long as you promise that we won't get caught," the she-kit mewed quietly, glancing around at the sleeping kits and queens as if she were checking to see if anyone had heard. Fortunately, everybody still appeared to be fast asleep. The kit wondered what kind of dreams they were having, or if they were even dreaming at all.

//lol it ok my reply later

"I promise we won't get caught. We just have to go now!" He whispered urgently. He nosed his fur a little before turning and heading out of the nursery, assuming she would follow him after agreeing to his plan. He peeked out of the nursery and looked around, no one was awake yet, or if they were they were staying in their dens for warmth. With that he pelted towards the hole he knew was there and was suddenly out of camp. This was the first time he had ever been out of camp. He kept running for a moment, so if anyone came out of camp they wouldn't see him right away. Veering off, he unknowingly headed towards the Riverclan border. He finally stopped, when he deemed they were a safe enough distance away from the camp. Now he sniffed the air, looking for Squirrelkit and saying, "We just need to smell for anything that smells like freshkill! Then we can stalk it like we do our siblings! We can probably team up on it too. That sounds like a plan?" He looked at her eyes sparkling with excitement.

  • OOC: Oh, so it's a competition now? I'll win. I always forget to check lol

IC: The small brown kit tensed for half a second, fighting off the voices in her head that screamed that leaving camp and going hunting was a bad idea. After a short moment that seemed to last forever, she forced her muscles to work, and she sprinted after Berrykit. She was fast, so she caught up in a decent amount of time. When she did, she listened to him speak, and nodded at his proposal. "Sounds like a plan," she mewed back. Her face and voice both showed a bit of doubt. What if their prey ended up being stronger than them? What if they came across a fox? She recalled the scent of the fox that had attacked the nursery not long before. What if it had a family nearby? She glanced around nervously, mouth open so she could drink in the air and scent for anything. But she probably wouldn't know prey if she smelled it, she'd never been trained on what smelled like what.

//now that it is break you will win, but after that...man i get bussssyyyy

Berrykit grinned when she agreed. He could sense that she was nervous so he walked towards her to smash their pelts together in a semi-comforting way. Then he did give her cheek a small lick and from that distance from her face he looked at her, and there was that mischievous look in his eyes, a little twinkle in his big grays. He softly whispered, "It'll be fun." It might strange for her to see this sort of dangerous side of Berrykit as he was usually such a fun loving guy. But, that danger it ran in his blood he couldn't deny it, but he also really did want to help the clan. This was just a time the two sides of him went hand in hand. Now he began to walk away, tail high and sniffing the air. He too, had no idea what prey smelled like, but he did know what it smelled like when he ate, so it couldn't be that much different. The two kittens would just have to get really close for them to smell anything. "I want to do my part for the clan." He began talking as he walked, "Imagine walking into camp with freshkill in your jaws, providing for them and then-" He stopped suddenly, signaling with his tail for her to do the same if she caught onto it. There had been a twig snap. For the first time since they left camp he felt fear creep up his spine. He remembered for a moment the jaws of the fox flashing in his mind. He tasted the air as deep as he could, while trying not to make any noise. His heartbeat grew so loud in his ear he set to flicking them to the beat to avoid hearing it. He smelled nothing like what the fox smelled like, but something similar to something he had eaten. "I think there is something up ahead." Even though they had no knowledge they needed to be the kittens were down wind, and there was a prey animal nibbling near some roots of a tree.
