  • //WHY DID I MAKE THIS?

Ashfeather wasn't in the greatest of moods. He was just wandering around the camp, feeling incredibly bored. Yes, he was a warrior now, but he wasn't even especially happy. Had he even wanted to be a warrior in the first place? He hated hunting, he hated fighting, he had no desire to even leave the camp. The only thing the dark tabby really enjoyed doing was putting smiles on the faces of everybody around him. That was why he was pleasant to everyone he met. Sure, not everyone appreciated his kindness, but that was fine. Ashfeather's affectionate personality obviously didn't suit everyone. Perhaps one day he would do something great, like actually cheer someone up who was really upset. Probably not. Ashfeather was happy just being with his Clanmates, though a part of the smoky tom was curious about what lay beyond the borders. He had no prejudice against other Clans after all, not even BloodClan.

Right now, Ashfeather's boredom was getting the better of him. He wanted to do something, and he literally didn't care what it was. Spotting a very sad looking NPC, he padded over to them, and after he offered them a few consoling words, the feline pressed themselves against him, and he felt himself being absorbed by their fluffy fur. Eventually, he drew away, and had an idea. That hug had felt nice - so why not give more hugs? It was the best thing Ashfeather could do with his life.

Feeling a little awkward and embarrassed, he called out in his pathetically quiet voice, "Free hugs!" and murmured, even more quietly, "You'd have to be pretty weird to agree to this."

  • The flame point kitten approached the older tom, but stood at a distance and merely observed him for a moment. "Free hugs?" He asked as he came closer, "Since when were hugs not free?" The kitten would sit down nearby, and tilt his head as he scanned the warrior. "Aren't you a little too old to be offering hugs?" He would appear genuinely confused, "Like... Aren't you supposed to be off fighting!? O-or hunting?!" He seemed to be excited at the very mention of fighting and hunting, so much so, he could barely speak properly. "Oh man, don't you tell me that being a warrior isn't better than being kept up in an old nursery all day!" He would stand, "I'll have to fight you on that one!" The kitten would then lower himself, appearing as though he was preparing to pounce on prey or something.

It is worth mention that the kitten could have easily been mistaken for an apprentice, until he mentioned the nursery... He was quite tall for his age. Oh, and he spoke in a very high-pitched voice thanks to puberty. Eugh.

  • silverspeckle felt an amused pur rumble from her throat. she watched as the tall kit teased the older cat before padding lightly over to the two of them. she yawned as she seated herself next to the large kit. she nodded her head in a greeting to the both of them.

"ashfeather why dont we go hunting?" she asked, pausing before adding "the clan could use some freshkill"

  • Silverpaw trotted past both Aspenkit and Silverspeckle- who had a mighty cool name, by the way, and aimed to embrace Ashfeather in a rather prolonged hug. It felt weird, but oddly comforting. After a few moments of latching onto the warrior, Silver stepped back, giving the warrior an appreciative smile. "That's a really nice idea, Ashfeather!" The kid exclaimed. Hunting and fighting was all clan cats ever seemed focused on. Even in the city they didn't obsess so much over those two aspects. Food was important, yeah, but happy cats were important, too. It was no secret that the cats of the forest usually had a surplus of personal issues- kits who hadn't even been alive for maybe a fraction of their lifespan had already experienced things that full grown warriors would find traumatic. It truly wasn't fair, and Silverpaw found herself wondering if StarClan really was looking out for them. Still, with cats like Ashfeather, it was hard not to believe so. Besides Harrierstrike, Ashfeather was probably one of her favorite warriors.

  • silverspeckle noticed the apprentice and smiled "lets go then" she purred to sandpaw, before turning to silverpaw "care to join us?" she asked. she liked being with the apprentices, she had only been a warrior for a brief few days and had shared a den with the slightly younger cats. she still wasnt used to the idea of her being a warrior but her eyes shined with pride as the thought about serving her clan crossed her mind. she was determined to be the best warrior there was.

  • the pale girl heaved a sigh as she turned look at her kin, not quite sure how they were even remotely related. the thought of touching another so intimately filled her with a hair tingling sense of revulsion and her nose scrunched up as she poked her tongue at him, her teeth peeking out from beneath her lip. she had not been that close with anyone since peachmoon had been around, and even then she hadn't been aggressively affectionate with anyone other than her close family and friends (the latter of which she only had one, now dead for all she knew).

her expression weakened and smoothed over, paving the way for a pensive silence as she stilled. her breaths ceased and the heat pooled in her maw, seeping through her slightly parted lips into the cool air, watching—waiting almost. a child approached him with a criticism that made her pelt crawl with indignance (only she could speak to him in such a dismissive manner), though her brother's pure intentions were soon to be ignored. ignorant, stupid bastards. these rude fuckers were not worthy of him or his love. says the sister who actively tore him down in a feeble attempt to make her grief stricken self feel better. not that it ever worked.

"ey, leave 'im be," before she recognized the words that she spat, she had already crossed the distance to his side. cinnamon mingled with scorched smoke and the scent of rime wreathing around her and bleeding over onto the lean boy's frame. she was an impassive specimen of apricot hued marble beside him, a dangerous disquiet upon her heels and lighting the edges of dagger sharp features. she lifted a lip crookedly, baring a few teeth at them before turning to her shorter kin, still grinning wickedly, though it held less malice than before.

    "spare one for me?"

  • >> Sandpaw perked up as she saw a small group of cats up ahead. She had just come out of the apprentice den after a nap, which she probably shouldn't have been taking, but oh well. She saw Ashfeather and she could just make out something about 'free hugs'. Did she read his lips right? Free hugs? That was a bit odd, but definitely not the strangest thing that a cat could offer up. Plus, they were free! Who didn't like free things? The apprentice trotted over quickly and waited until Silverpaw had successfully detached herself from Ashfeather. Sandpaw awkwardly went up next, hugging the warrior for a few seconds and then backing away, feeling a little more comforted than she had been previously. Hugging wasn't her strong suit, but then again, she rarely gave out hugs.

The apprentice turned to Silverspeckle and could just catch on to the words 'hunting.' Hunting definitely did sound fun! Maybe Ashfeather would feel better if they went as some sort of group activity? "Hunt..ing does sound good!"

//when u delete ur post im an idiot

  • silverspeckle purred with amusement before giving a flick with her tail to follow. she turned around and crept to the entrance, peeking back to make sure the cats followed.
she often forgot that sandpaw couldnt hear her and always felt a pang of sadness when she remembered. her brother had been deaf when he was born but he didnt survive to even become an apprentice. green cough had claimed his life far to young.
as she waited for the shecat to approach she gave her paw a few licks before drawing it over her face. cleaning the dust from her pelt and washing the sorrowful thoughts of her brother away

  • ➳ if you think i'm burning out, i never am!

"I want one!" Emberpaw hollered as he hurried over, his thick long pelt puffed up against the frigid leafbare breeze. The young tortoiseshell would have accepted hugs from any cat in ThunderClan but the fact that it was his handsome warrior crush made the idea of a hug even better. He never declined an opportunity to hang out with Ashfeather anyway. Not since the newly made warrior had left the apprentice den.

Emberpaw brought himself close to Ashfeather, nudging his way past Aspenkit and Cherryburn. He wanted the first hug. Something about him being the first one to embrace Ashfeather made it seem special. The hyper-active apprentice gave a goofy smile and lifted his paws up.

  • Whoa... Ashfeather had attracted more of a crowd than he had expected. That was flattering, to say the least. His nephew, Aspenkit, padded over, questioning Ashfeather's actions. The dark tabby had heard that plenty of times before. Most warriors enjoyed leaving the camp and hunting, but Ashfeather was different, and he didn't understand what was wrong with that. "I actually quite liked being in the nursery," he admitted. "Though it got... just a tiny bit boring."

Silverspeckle came over, asking about hunting. Wow, just the one thing he didn't really feel like doing. Before he could think of a response, Silverpaw hugged him. There was a tiny smile on the young tom's face. Warm and comfortable. "Thank you," he told the she cat gently, glad that someone had taken his offer. Sandpaw also embraced him, and he laughed softly. "Thank you too." This was nice.

Ashfeather was surprised as his sister came over, but he was pretty happy to see her, and even more joyful when he realized that she was asking for a hug too. Or was she? He couldn't be sure, but Cherry would get a hug anyway. But before he did that, Emberpaw pushed forwards. The black tabby felt a weird sensation in his stomach at the sight of the tortoiseshell, but he decided it was nothing. Maybe Ashfeather had just eaten a bad squirrel this morning. That had to be it.

Either way, Emberpaw seemed pretty eager for a hug, and Ashfeather wanted one too. Placing his paws gently on Emberpaw's pelt, he pulled the apprentice into an embrace. Smiling and laughing to himself a little, he found himself closing his eyes for quite a few moments, comforted by the feeling of Emberpaw's pelt underneath his paws. Remembering he had an audience, he drew away, purring, "I didn't want to let go."

Barely able to tear his eyes away from Emberpaw, who was making him feel stranger and stranger by the second, he forced himself to look at Cherryburn. "Of course, I have as many hugs as you want. Anything and everything," he reassured her, giving Cherryburn a somewhat playful hug, ruffling her fur teasingly. "I know you like this." He drew away, eyes gleaming. Well, that had been pleasant. What now?

  • The kit's heart sank as the other warrior approached the few, and asked if Ashfeather wanted to go hunting. Even though that was essentially what Aspen had expected Ashfeather to be doing. Still, the second warrior quieted the flame point down... With help of the third. He sat down once more, deciding to merely observe the scenario for that moment. He watched as Silverpaw, then Sandpaw, and eventually the third warrior hugged Ashfeather. He found the last to be especially odd since Cherryburn had been quite mysterious to him lately. At this point, he decided to participate, but was delayed by Emberpaw. He had just stood up when Emberpaw came forward.

"Sorry for questioning you," He would start as he slowly stepped closer. "I know you're just trying to be polite... May I?" He would ask as he attempted to hug Ashfeather.

  • Ashfeather laughed softly at Aspenkit. "Of course, no need to be sorry." Ashfeather rather liked cats who asked questions - curiosity was a good trait to have, as while some many dismiss it as being annoying, it could lead to the curious one becoming smarter and smarter thanks to the information they gained. He wrapped his paws gently around the kit, his touch barely noticeable due to his gentle paws. He hugged Aspenkit for several moments, before drawing away.

  • Aspenkit offered the warrior a smile before engaging in the hug, which was very gentle. He pulled away from the warrior, "I'll see you around!" He would say before running away from the gathering... Probably to go play.

  • SOMETHING SO MAGIC ABOUT YOU!

    Berrykit - male - 4 moons - kit - Thunderclan - easy

As his brother ran away, Berrykit ran up. He smiled, making sure to look every cat that had gathered in the eye to show off his gleaming silver eyes. He was also large, though a little broader than his brother, but one couldn't mistake him for an apprentice because of clear lack of any composure. The tuxedo tom ran straight up to Ashfeather to hug him right after his brother had, "If he gets one I want one!" Then he giggled a little before trying to leap up and nip at the tom's ear, "I'm Berrykit!"

  • Ashfeather waved farewell to Aspenkit before Aspenkit''s brother, Berrykit, ran over. He offered the young tom a smile before the kit hugged him, and he let out a joyful laugh at the kit's energetic and playful attitude, allowing Berrykit to nip his ear and not even trying to pull away. He didn't care, this kid was honestly adorable. "Hi, Berrykit! That's a nice name! I'm Ashfeather!" Ashfeather was also a decent name, though he didn't have wings, so it was a little weird. Well, at least it hadn't been Ashclaw. The last thing the dark tabby tomcat had wanted was a violent sounding name. Eventually, he pulled away from Berrykit, though he was feeling a lot warmer and happier after the hug. This had truly been a great day, and Ashfeather felt a lot more loved now.

"That's an awfully nice name too! Though, I don't quite get what it means!" He stepped back looking all over Ashfeather for a moment, he appeared to be in deep, deep thought. He seemed to be mumbling for himself for a moment. Then he jumped in the air as he reached in an answer, "It's cause your black colored, which is like Ash. And your floaty, like a feather!" He did expand on what he meant by floaty, because he didn't really know. Something along the lines of friendly. Then he grinned at Ashfeather like he'd just solved the hardest puzzle, his chest a little puffed out with pride.

  • Ashfeather felt a rush of warmth - this really was nice. He was so used to hearing his Clanmates bicker and always being stuck in the middle, so it was nice to see them showing more affection towards him. Ashfeather was no fighter, and all he wanted was to make his friends happy. He hoped he had achieved that. Focusing on Berrykit, he gave a laugh, "Probably means I'm really gentle or something. But I can be tough when I want to be!" he let out a roar, which sounded more like a lion cub than anything else. Well, he had tried, but the dark tabby wasn't intimidating in the slightest. "Yeah, that must be what Ash means. And maybe you're right about the floaty part. Why do you think you're called Berrykit?" Asking questions was a good skill for conversations, wasn't it?

He flicked his tail back and forth as he sat down. His looked up contemplating for a moment. Then coming to a decision he stood back up. "Because i'm sweet like a berry..." As he spoke he walked under the larger cat, having to duck a little because of his already large size, and wound through his legs trailing his tail behind him, then coming out behind Ashfeather he turned and attempted to jump on the warrior's back, claws in of course. If he landed his pounce he would lightly nip the ear he hadn't earlier and growl, "But sometimes poisonous!" Then he would fall off the cat's back giggling, knowing what he had done looked completely ridiculous.

  • Ashfeather's eyes shone at Berrykit's response - something cute, of course. What had he expected from a kit? Well, Berrykit wouldn't remain cute forever, that was sure. One day, Ashfeather was certain that he would see Berrykit grow into someone a lot stronger and tougher, someone who fought to protect their Clan. "Well, you certainly are sweet!" he agreed. Not even knowing what was happening, he watched as Berrykit went underneath him. Ashfeather stayed completely still, waiting to see what would happen next, not making any attempt to move away. Suddenly, Berrykit had jumped onto Ashfeather's back. The, well, rather weak tabby flinched just slightly, but soon adjusted to the kit on his back. The nip on Ashfeather's ear had only hurt a little bit, but he knew that one day, Berrykit would have some pretty dangerous fangs that would easily draw blood. Or maybe Ashfeather was just comparing himself to this rather energetic kit and being overly expectant. He didn't know. "Poisonous? Well, that's sure to scare your enemies, if you ever needed to scare them." Ashfeather didn't want to have to scare any cat ever.
