  • It was yet another crisp day in the enchanted forest of BlizzardClan. The feline had decided to explore this area of the territory due to its amount of natural elements. Plants, water, types of sediments, and various other things. Things that made her feel more at home.

Every since Lierre's mother passed away she hadn't felt the same. She suffered from nightmares, depression, and some anxiety. Though her smile was bright and cheerful, her mind sometimes wasn't. She never really would show it though as she had gotten used to hiding it. After all, she wouldn't show her mother her fear when she was so sick. She wanted her mother to see kindness and the beauty of nature before she passed. So, she made it her purpose to show the same thing to her clanmates. She wasn't sure sometimes if it would work, but she still tried.

With that said, the feline soon came upon a small stream making its way through the forest. She could easily see the small minnows going in the more shallow areas, and the plants seemed to flourish a little more near the water. The scene was quite peaceful. A faint smile crossed her maw as she came closer to the water's edge.

Soon enough she made it to the edge of the water though was careful not to touch it. She didn't want to disturbed the minuscule fish as they swam through the water. After a brief moment she brought up her paw and move it over the water. When she lifted it though a small orb of water began to form and rise with her.

When she raised the orb to a decent height she looked at it carefully. Inside was a slightly panicked minnow swimming around. She watched as it swam around before calming down a bit after realizing it couldn't do anything to escape. The soft smile still rested upon her face as she looked into the orb letting memories of her childhood slip into her mind in those moments.

*:・゚✦ It was through no fault of his own that Cannon knew nothing of the fates of any member of his family, for the curse of his misfortune was not a recent development. When he was quite young, just old enough to learn how to hunt, his mother had taken his siblings and left him to fend for himself. He supposed that this was fair. After all, he did seem to cause an unfair amount of trouble for those around him, even more so when he was a puppy. Still, Cannon did miss the thought of having a family. He not-so-secretly longed for one now, even going so far as to put it on his Christmas list. But he was not one to let the more negative aspects of his life rule his existence, and so Cannon's lack of a family was perfectly fine by him. Well, acceptable.

Having a place in BlizzardClan did help, though. The sense of purpose that being in a group such as BlizzardClan gave him was rather fufilling, and he appreaciated that he had been allowed to stay when he was so horridly injured and unable to contribute much to anything. It was similar, he supposed, to having a family. It gave him a place to sleep, people to talk to, quick medical access for when he was attacked or ended up in unfortunate situations. And he had met a significant amount of good people. He had to say, he had been in another group before, BloodClan. And it was nowhere near as good of a fit for him as this was.

Still unable to walk, Cannon had found himself yet again pulling himself around the territory, dragging himself through the forest in hopes of finding some prey to catch or someone to talk to. It wasn't long before he came across something matching his criteria- for there was Lierre, sitting by a stream. Curious, Cannon watched her for a moment, his eyes widening slightly in shock as she caused an orb to rise up from the water. He saw light flashing off of something, recognizing it soon as a small fish. Well, if that wasn't interesting- and, they had to say, sort of cute.

Maybe he should go talk to her? With a small nod of confirmation - that was really only to himself, as nobody else was around to see it other than Lierre, who had her back turned - the canine made his way over to her, coming over from the side to avoid scaring her. After all, if he was doing something that seemed this peaceful, he wouldn't want to be shocked. "Hello," Cannon greeted, smiling his signature smile. "Lierre, isn't it? I don't think I've seen much of you since you joined. How have you been?"

    "Speech."

  • Luckily Lierre wasn't as oblivious as she normally could be and notice the canine coming up beside her. She couldn't deny though that she was a bit nervous upon seeing him. She had never shown anyone her special ability to manipulate nature except her mother. The feline wasn't sure if anyone else would appreciate her ability like the dying female had.

"Hello!" She greeted cheerfully with a bright smile to hide her inner anxiety. She knew it was unlikely he would react poorly to her powers due to him not saying anything initially about it. That and he smiled at her so he surely wouldn't be fearful of it or anything, right? For now she brushed off these questions as she focused on the conversation she was having with the male.

"I've been doing well. Your name is Cannon right? I believe you were to first to greet me when I joined," Lierre recalled glancing over at him while still keeping some of her gaze on the orb of water. When she finished speaking though she turned her attention back to it lowering it slowly back into its rightful place in the stream. The small minnow inside sped away as it finally regained its sense of freedom. To most it would be such a little thing, but to her the simple image of the minnow leaving meant more. Every piece of nature reminded her of herself and of her mother whether it be the good and the bad parts of it.

She looked back over at him after a moment of watching the fish. "What are you doing out in the forest?" She asked in an attempt to make some conversation.

*:・゚✦ Cannon smiled cheerfully, glad to hear that Lierre was doing well. He would've hated to think that anyone who seemed so positive could possibly have any problems with BlizzardClan. After all, it was a great place to live, as far as he could tell. There were hardly any political problems, with it being such a neutral clan (though there was the unfortunate scenario of a Thuderlander skinning a member, and that member's corpse landing on and likely traumatizing poor Ladon, and the few captures that had happened as of late). Things seemed to be good enough. "Yes, that would be me," he confirmed with a nod. "If you're ever not doing so well, please let me know and I'll try to help out."

Cannon's soft gaze followed Lierre's actions, and he watched as she released the minnow back into the stream. Somewhat distracted, it took him a moment to respond to her question. "Oh. Well, y'know. Just... being out," he admitted. "I've always thought that if one has nothing to do, it's better to be up and about in search of a task than it is to sit around waiting to be given one." Of course, there weren't too many tasks he could do, with his only remaining back leg mangled, but he could still keep an eye out for joiners, and strike up conversations. "What about you?"

    "Speech."

  • The feline smiled as she listened to his words. He was right, it was better to do something then to do nothing. After all, there was always something that could be done somewhere. It could be welcoming a joiner, helping a clanmate, or even just doing something to make everyone else feel better.

"That is a fair thought," She said before he asked what she was doing out. "I just am exploring more of the forest. I was thinking about making a home out here instead of in camp," She answered which was a true statement. She preferred it out here instead of in the camp. It was relatively quiet, peaceful, and had all the qualities of nature she liked to use for projects and such of the sort. So, if there was anywhere to put her home it would have to be in this very forest.

*:・゚✦ Cannon smiled, glad to hear that Lierre agreed with his ideaology. He understood why some might disagree. A lot of people were not quite as interested as remaining productive and helpful as he was. He truly loved working, though, and his free time was not something he wanted to spend doing nothing. It was always nice to meet someone who felt the same way. They seemed to be a rare type of person.

Cannon's head tilted curiously upon hearing Lierre's proclamation that she might decide to set up a house outside of camp. He had to say, it was nice out here, and he couldn't blame her for wanting to be out where the view was this amazing. "Well, if you do that, you'd need to make sure whatever shelter you set up is good and sturdy. Weather's a bitch, and it would suck for you to end up getting soaked in your sleep and catching a cold. Plus, The Cartel and The Thunderlands are being problematic lately." Wow. The more he heard himself talk, the more ridiculously paranoid he sounded. He hoped that he hadn't freaked Lierre out, but it was just the way he thought. Someone with the type of bad luck he had been cursed with had to think that way.

Clearing his throat, Cannon tacked on more cheerfully, "Not to mention you'd probably get lonely living all the way out here, isolated from the rest of us. I'd have to come visit you, make sure you don't lose your mind from being in solitude. And so I'd get to see you, of course." He chuckled, although in all seriousness, if Lierre did live outside of camp, he would make a habit of coming to visit her. "Really though, if you do end up doing that, and you need help making a house of some sort, I'd be more than happy to help."

    "Speech."

  • Lierre listened about his warning of the other groups. Honestly, she had never heard of the two. From what she could tell though they seemed to have caused a lot of trouble for the entire clan. Though she wasn't much of a fighter she still didn't like the thought of someone messing with her newfound clanmates. Not in the slightest.

The feline smiled brightly as he continued talking about her becoming lonely. Honestly, she probably would be a bit initially since she hadn't gotten to know the clan as much as she would have liked. The security of being in the forest though where she could have her powers more available though was much more tempting to her. Her powers were all she had left of her mother except for the green ribbon around her neck.

"I would love for you to visit," She said before getting an idea when he offered to help her with making her home. "Actually, do you mind helping me pick a good spot to put it?" Lierre questioned with a bit of a hopeful look in her ivy green hues. She really needed to set up a home soon since she basically was just sleeping in places that seemed to be good enough to stay in just for a night. It would be nice to have a home to set up and make her own.

*:・゚✦ Cannon's grin widened slightly when Lierre said she'd like him visiting. That was cool. Not only would he want to make sure that she was okay being away from the security that living in the same area as the rest of the clan provided, but Lierre also just seemed nice to be around in general. He would hate missing getting to see her just because she lived outside of camp. Listening as she started to speak again, Cannon nodded somewhat enthusiastically. He had been looking for something to do, after all, and helping Lierre out was loads better than just walking around like he had been doing.

"Well, first things first, you'd have to find a spot with enough space between the trees to set up a decent-sized shelter. That, or you could build a shelter into the trees. Either way would be good. Putting it a little above ground wouldn't be too bad of an idea either, but definitely not too important. Also, would you want to keep it along this stream? Because not only would it be a nice view, but it'd be a nice spot to cool off during the summer." Of course, after spending so much time alone, Cannon had become practically an expert at shelters, whether it be building them or finding the best location.

    "Speech."

  • Lierre smiled as she listened to his suggestions. Honestly, a house in the trees would take a bit of time, but to her it would be quite worth it. After all, she knew how she could manipulate the trees using her powers so she could make the house. Then there was the stream. He did have a point, the stream would be nice for in the summer time.

"We can make some sort of tree house, and I would like to keep it by the stream," She decided after a brief moment of thought. She then began to think about the different trees around the forest. The sturdiest one would probably be the oak tree, and since the forest was quite old she should be able to find one big enough to hold her tree house. That or she could find two close ones and use them to create her home.

As the plans began to form in her head she began to get even more excited. She would be able to finally have a stable home, and one she could make her own. Being that she had lived as a loner she had to pretty much be nomadic. There was no choice to live in a stable environment. The feline was not bothered by it as a kit, but as she grew older she longed for a forever place. Now she had the chance to have one.
