//Your form can be a whole lot simpler than mine if you wish, for example you don't have to have the entire outfit your character is wearing, etc.
Name: Kay
Age: 18
Gender: Female she/her
Elemental type: Fire
Physical Description: Kay is small, only being around 5'2 in height and 130lbs, but her body is built to be lean and powerful.
Personality: She is very fiery and passionate. She is known to be headstrong, stubborn, and naive, which makes it hard to get along with her at times. She stands up for what she believes in and is very outspoken. Kay will often get frustrated or mad very quickly. Her emotions overwhelm her at times.
Outfit:

With her lips curled into a triumphant style the young fire elemental crossed the border into water elemental territory. It gained a few exasperated "oohs" and "ahhs" from the other young fire elementals who were watching her. It was almost like a dare for the warrior like fire elementals, going into their strongest enemies territory. After all, fire and water don't get along very well. Kay not one for letting herself be called a coward by the others, and genuinely curious, boldly walked into the water elemental territory. Kay honestly didn't know what she expected when nothing happened. Did she expect a bunch of water elementals to come bursting from the trees to reprimand her? Probably not, after all, the water elementals were for the most part peaceful folk.
So, instead of listening to her comrades cry out to her for her to come back from the safety of their own territory (and hidden behind trees and rocks) Kay wandered further into the territory. The only other elemental territory she had been in was the wind elemental territory. The wind and the fire elementals got along fairly well, they traded and the like. Now, the water elemental territory was much different from the wind, or even the fire. The wind elementals had rolling plains and stretches of flatland. The fire elementals had rocky plateaus and sparse forests. The water elementals territory was lush and beautiful, filled with animals that darted along Kay's path and small pools of water that dotted the forest. Kay smiled, this place was wonderful.
She continued further into the territory, out of view from the fire territory now. She couldn't even here her friends calling to her anymore. That was probably for the best, Kay though, she liked the quiet. She liked this place. It was so alive and almost everything seemed to be moving. It was unlike the stagnant territory of the fire elementals where everything was the same. Grey and dying. No wonder why they relied on the wind elementals so much. Kay stopped for a moment to peer into a pool of water. It was unlike any water she had ever seen, it was a beautiful turquoise color and it seemed to shimmer and dance as if waving hello to Kay. The water back at home was well, grey and dull. She reached out a hand to touch it and giggled as the cool water rippled under her touch. She straightened and froze. It was like she almost heard a noise coming from somewhere in the forest. Not the noise of one of the animals, no, this was heavier. Kay stood her ground, she would hate using her fire in a beautiful place like this, but she would use it if she had to.
"Show yourself!" Kay demanded. She knew that the water folk were peaceful, but she didn't intend for them to be sneaking around her like she was some kind of dangerous animal. Kay kept her vibrant eyes locked on where she last seen movement, each muscle in her body was ready for whatever came next.

Name: Serena
Age: 18
Gender: Female she/her
Elemental type: Ice/Water
Physical Description: Serena is average sized, around 5'6" in height and 135 pounds, built for quick, agile movements but not very powerful in strength.
Personality: Serena is seemingly laid-back, always finding ways to relax or get into a good mood. She loves to read at times and she is very quick-witted, knowing how to get herself in and out of situations on most occasions. She was always told to do as her father says but she'd rather do as she wanted since she loved to go out and see nature from time to time.
Outfit: Usually skinny jeans and a depending on the day, she would wear either a long-sleeved sweater or a short-sleeved t-shirt, being the cold doesn't bother her. Her footwear usually entails loafers or sneakers, also depending on the day she feels like wearing either one.
Serena loved nature since she had been a small child, always wondering around the outskirts of the forests as her father had told her not to. Though of course, she didn't really care that much. Instead, she went as she pleased as long as she was within their own territory and not intruding anywhere else. She, as well as every other elemental, took the boundaries very seriously and so she never even thought to try and cross one. Instead, she stayed to her own area, heading through the lovely forests that grew nicely with such pure water. The flowers had always bloomed in nearby bushes and the grass was green, making it very clear to where their border ended, and another one began.
Their sanctity had always been a peaceful one, attempting to keep their own territory to their liking and abiding by the peace treaty set between the clans. It was made in attempts to live peacefully, instead of always fighting one another over what they wanted or what was already theirs. This didn't matter much to Serena, however, since she had always been taught to abide by the laws and so she did it naturally without having to think an extra moment.
Serena had her focus set on the nature around her. The birds were sitting in their nests, the foliage had been swaying in the breeze and water, setting still around them. She looked up at the sky, a chill smile on her face as her gaze trailed downwards into the field in front of her, her smile slowly beginning to fade. Who is that? she pondered to herself as she looked over at the girl sitting by the lake nearby the forest she was in. She then walked towards the tree for cover as she tried to not make any sudden movements to attract attention as she did so.
Focusing on the girl, her foot then became caught on a root beneath her, stumbling forwards as she ran into a bush, quickly shuffling behind the tree for cover once more. She knew she had made noise though she had hoped that it didn't attract the girls' attention. It was fairly peculiar to see someone out as close to the border as she was. Usually, water elementals didn't want to set foot within almost a mile of their border to stay far away from any others that may have been nearby the borders. She didn't get a good view of the girl, not knowing who she was though as she heard the voice call out from the distance, she knew she was caught.
Slowly, she turned herself from behind the tree, slowly moving out into the open as she caught sight of the female that had spotted her earlier. I-is that a fire elemental? She nearly panicked to herself as she stood out where she could see her. Having many questions going through her head, she decided not to say any of them, and instead stood waiting for something to be said from the other girl. She had hoped she didn't have to see her opposite in her lifetime but, trailing where others didn't, she should've seen it coming. Instead she was taken aback by the presence and the questions jumbled in her head relentlessly.
ooc: I hope it was good ^^'. I don't think my skill dropped that much since I last did an rp which is good. I didn't want to have to take forever to readjust myself
-
//Ahh it's wonderful! Don't worry! By the way, I love the name Serena! So pretty!
||Kay||
Kay gazed at the girl who stepped out from where she had originally heard the noise before. She was pretty, but what caught Kay's attention the most was the girl's blue colored hair. It was unlike the fire elementals with their bold orange and red colors. This girl was softer, in a way. Kay blinked, well of course her hair would be blue. The girl was a water elemental. Each elemental's color corresponded with the element they were. Fire elementals are sheds of red, orange, and occasionally yellow. The wind elementals were light and airy colors, pale in nature and in color. The earth elementals had earthy and darker tones. So, it only made sense that water elementals would have blue tones to them. Kay had never seen a water elemental before, so she was almost in a sort of trance as she stared at the girl. But her eyes soon hardened as she observed the girl from a tactical standpoint. The girl was taller than Kay, by at least 3 or 4 inches, she was built but Kay knew how peaceful the water folk were and wasn't intimidated. She almost smirked.
Kay took a few experimental steps towards the water elemental before stopping. What to say to her? Kay furrowed her brow in frustration. She was at a lose. She didn't think she would encounter a water elemental, but then again she had wandered a little ways from the fire elemental border. Suddenly, she thought that this was a really bad mistake. But she wouldn't let the water elemental know she was slightly afraid with a pit forming in her stomach.
"Who are you?" Kay questioned, but her tone was lighter than before. It was still firm, still threatening an attack if the water elemental stepped her boundaries, but it was cushioned by a layer of curiosity.
It was an almost silly question, and Kay bit her tongue the moments the words spilled out of her mouth. Who are you? Who are you!? What a dumb thing to say. Kay reached for her necklace and the little red gemstone attached to it. She toyed with it, as she often did when she was confused, upset, nervous, or frustrated. And at the moment, Kay was probably feeling all of them at once. She just hoped that the water elemental knew not to provoke or even toy with a fire elemental. Kay glanced around at the beautiful landscape surrounding them, she would hate if this beautiful place got damaged because of her.
-
ooc: I knoooow I thought that too when it popped in my head! And you work fast, I'm jealous x3
Serena didn't know what to do in the situation, her standing there as the fire elemental had been nearby the lake. She didn't like the position she was in for one second, even as the girl had started to approach her, she had felt the sudden need to step away, her leg moving behind her as if to back up though she knew it wouldn't have been a good idea. Even showing her intimidation had been a bad sign for her. She had seen a lot of her own kind and knew a lot of people that live around their territory, though having someone unbeknownst her to her approach in such a fashion made her uneasy.
Her fingers clenched against the seam of her pant leg, nervousness traveling throughout her body as she tried to get her words together. The girl had asked her who she was and yet she was still trying to recollect her thoughts before things had gotten worse for her. The fire elementals had surely been intimidating at that and as much as she didn't want to be, she was surely feeling the effects of it. It's just a simple question. You can answer that, right? she asked herself as her lips began to part, attempting to get her words out in a way that she wanted them to.
W-who am I? You're in our territory, I should be asking you that" she talked back to the girl, though hating herself as soon as the words had left her mouth. Of course, her slight nervousness had shown in her speech, not much of an appealing way of speaking in her eyes. She tapped on her leg anxiously, wondering how the girl would react to such a comment, though being a fire elemental, she wasn't sure it would be too well.
She peered down at the girls necklace for a quick moment, now seeing it more clearly when it had been messed with, going in between the small fingers and messed with in idle moments. She had figured it was a simple force of habit, no real reason being behind it rather than just to keep her hands busy or out of the way. It had been a pretty necklace and it complimented her well though it hadn't been the time for her to be looking at alluring features that the girl possessed.
-
//I got them speedy fingers ;) Take that as you will lol
||Kay||
Kay almost giggled when she saw the water elemental took a step back then her lips curled in a triumphant smile as she saw the girl nervously grab onto the hem of her pants. The water elemental was scared of her? Scared of a fire elemental? Didn't the girl realize that technically she had the upper hand? Either way, Kay wasn't going to tell her. Instead, she started advancing towards the water elemental, her hands dropped to her side and she squared her shoulders back. She advanced in the firm and strong walk that was known of the fire elementals and the earth elementals.
Kay's eyes lit up when she heard the question. So this water elemental wanted a challenge, huh? Well, Kay could definitely deliver that. The snarky and cynical fire elemental loved toying with others, even if she didn't like being toyed with herself. Her blue eyes danced around playfully, like the hungry flames of a blue fire. Kay shrugged at the question.
"But you didn't ask, did you?" Kay said with a grin. She stopped a few paces away from the girl. Kay crossed her arms, almost annoyed that she had to look up to see the girl's face properly. "True, I am in your territory," Kay admitted and straightened her dress, "But I asked you a question, and I'm not going to ask it again."
Her blue eyes, once light and playful, hardened and almost glared at the girl. Kay knew the girl was nervous, good, if Kay could keep her like that then Kay could get out of this without using her fire. Again, she glanced at the surrounding landscape. Though, perhaps, if she did use her fire that the water elementals could put it out rather quickly and Kay was sure that this lush landscape would recover much quicker than her own fire elemental territory. Kay was no longer nervous, instead her once nervous feelings were replaced with fiery confidence.

Omg
I totally don't like you even more nowSerena started to become more uneasy, wanting to stay at a further distance from the girl though she had only continued moving closer. She had wanted to back away again, to move away from the one who looked to be capable of blowing her across the forest. She tried to channel her breathing, her heart racing fast as the intimidation grew. The situation could move in various directions and yet she didn't know how to react with any of them. Instead, she stood still, frozen in place as the small figure came closer to her, looking more as though she had become more confident and all the more threatening.
Serena could already see why the two elementals didn't match. Why they were polar opposites from one another and stayed in their own separate borders. She had finally encountered her first element of this kind and she could already feel the difference. She bit down on her lip, trying not to freeze up her voice when she needed it most. She could only imagine what this girl could do if things didn't go right and what was imagined, she didn't want any of it to happen.
"I-I'm Serena." she answered finally, stuttering as she did so. Why did you tell her who you are?! she yelled at herself in her head, already regretting her decision. Her mouth didn't follow a single thing she had wanted it to and yet she couldn't really blame herself, her shaking hands proving how nervous she was during the entirety of their meeting. I'm so dead if she tells anyone.she thought, knowing that if her name had got out even once through a fire elementals name to anyone in her territory, they would surely punish her harshly. She was taught not to look or even speak to any of them and here she was, doing the exact opposite of everything she was learned to do. Maybe it was the girl or maybe it was her own fear, but she knew that either way, it was bad for her in the end.

//Lmao
||Kay||
Kay rolled Serena's name over and over again in her head and mouthed it a few times to herself. Serena. It flowed, almost like a river. How cliche, Kay though after making that analogy. Still, she thought the name was pretty. It fitted the strange blue haired water elemental. Now that Kay knew her name, what now? On one hand, Serena could go back to her people and tell about the fire elemental that trespassed on their territory and Kay could already see that not ending well between the two elementals. As if tensions weren't high enough. On the other hand, Kay could go back to her people and tell her about Serena and how she talked to a fire elemental. She could brag about her fearless encounter with the nervous and shaking Serena. Again, that wouldn't end well between the two territories. Kay didn't want things to get worse. She didn't care for the water folk, but she would hate to see this beautiful place torched down. The best thing to do was to keep both of their mouths shut, but could Serena be trusted? After all, fire elementals and water elementals were sworn enemies. And messing with the water elementals will raise tensions with the Earth elementals and then the wind elementals would get involved to help the fire elementals. It was bad news, either way.
Kay eyed Serena, looked her up and down then let out an exasperated sigh. After a small pause, Kay said, "Well, look Serena. I won't tell my people about you as long as you don't tell your people about my trespassing. After all I would hate for such a beautiful place to be destroyed." Kay shrugged. "It's up to you, really."
Kay then held out her hand towards Serena and smiled up at the girl. "Since I know your name, it's only fair you know mine. I'm Kay."
At this point Kay didn't see the harm in telling Serena her name, after all, Kay could make Serena keep quiet. It wouldn't be hard. Kay thought for a moment, in fact, where all the water elementals like this? Was the only reason the fire elementals were enemies with the water elementals because they had the power and manipulation of water? It sure seemed that way, now that Kay was thinking about it. Kay's eyes softened for a brief moment as she lost herself in thought, but shook her head and focused her gaze back at Serena, but instinctively she reached for her necklace and began to toy with it. Her other hand still outstretched towards Serena.
-
Serena heard the words come out of the girls mouth, her eyes softening at them as she felt a small relief fall out of her. The last thing she had wanted was to escalate things from the small encounter and it would seem that she wouldn't have to worry about that. Though, being that they had been enemies, she didn't know whether or not she could actually trust the girl to keep the words that she said. Even as the fire elemental's eyes had seemed to soften towards her, she couldn't help but feel a small doubt within her that told her not to trust what the girl had been saying. Though her thoughts had been clouded by her small peak of interest towards who she actually was. Her eyes gazed upon the small figure, for a brief moment seeming to be more approachable than she had just a second ago, a questionable feeling forming inside of her.
Kayshe thought to herself, now feeling better that she knew the girls name as well. But is Kay really her name or was that just an alibi created to keep her out of trouble? Serena couldn't help but think this, regardless of what she had seen. From how she grew up, she was always told to stay away from them, that they were destructive and they were killers of every living thing. Everything she was taught had clouded her mind relentlessly, making the girl seem even more trustworthy and yet the face she had seen had shown a form of kindness. She had always pictured fire elementals to be monsters and complete opposites and yet she thought there may have been another side than that.
Serena looked down at the girl's hand. Not only did she look and talk to a fire elemental but she was going to touch one. It had broken rules that she was told constantly and yet they could be so easily broken. It hadn't been her fault that she was approached by one and conversed with, though she knew that it shouldn't be spoken of. If Kay had kept her promise, she wouldn't need to worry. With a slightly shaking hand, she grasped a hold of the one in front of her, a forced smile coming onto her face. She had wanted to get rid of it, to go back to the fear that she held inside as Kay's face had shown the intimidation once more. Though, she merely tried to calm herself, to get rid of the anxiety and the thoughts that flooded her emotions and her mind.
Edit: hehe 14 minutes. Looks like I got fast fingers too~
-
//Ooooo we got some fast fingers up in here! Sorry for my semi-late(?) reply. I just got out of the shower.
||Kay||
Kay grasped Serena's hand. It felt oddly cold, Kay looked down at Serena's hand in surprise. Her hand was normal, just like anyone's hand. It was just colder. Why? Kay assumed it was because she was so used to the warm blooded fire elementals. They had a body temperature that was higher than most average elementals. So perhaps water elementals just had a colder body temperature. It was odd, but refreshing and almost nice at the same time. Kay squeezed Serena's hand gently, keeping her in Kay's grasp.
"So, do we have a deal, Serena?" Kay said in a low, warm voice.
Kay liked saying Serena's name, it rolled off her tongue easily. Kay continued to grasp Serena's hand. She could tell the water elemental was uncomfortable. Kay grinned. "What? Scared that you're breaking the rules by taking the hand of a fire elemental?" Kay teased. Kay pulled Serena closer to her, not taking her grip off her arm. "Afraid someone will find out?" Kay smirked. Her eyes were back to glimmering playfully, two warm dancing pools of blue fire.
She examined Serena's hand for a moment before chuckling. She clicked her tongue a few times. "Let me guess, is your father some powerful person in your territory?" Her grin grew wider, "Don't want to make daddy mad, do you Serena? What would he think of you if he knew? Touching a fire elemental? What would your entire people think?"
The differences between the two couldn't be more obvious. Kay, with her headstrong and confident, snarky, and cynical personality and Serena's more nervous and cool headed personality. Kay honestly wanted to see how far she could go with teasing Serena, she was told that water elemental's were incredibly patient. Kay wanted to find out if this were true. She meant her teasings in good fun. Its how the fire elementals bonded more or less, along with the normal roughhousing and fire battles. Kay noticed something else about Serena, how she smelled. As odd as it sounded, Serena smelled like right before it would rain. Kay could only imagine that she smelled of fire and smoke.
"What's the matter, Serena?" Kay continued, "Are you afraid of me?"
-
ooc: It's fine, I should probably shower soon too x3. And my replies after today would be less frequent cause of all the stuff I usually have going on on a daily basis.
Serena felt the gentle grasp of the female, much less forceful than she may have thought and also, much warmer. It had been slightly calming to feel a warmer grasp than what she was used to and for a brief moment, she had forgotten where she was. Her focus was on the warmth of the girls hand, warming her own as the two body temperatures collided with one another. She had blinked a few times when she heard Kay's voice again, asking to confirm the deal that she so quickly doubted.
"It's a deal." she replied, a more sincere smile spreading across her features as the warm voice made her feel more comfortable. She had thought that maybe they didn't have so much different about them or at least they had some things in common. The girl's skin had felt so warm and soft, drawing her attention to it every other moment, though she managed to keep her head up towards Kay instead of towards the grasp farther down.
"M-maybe..." she answered, her eyes lowering slightly, knowing that she didn't want anyone else to find out what she was doing. Her gaze had widened again as she was pulled closer, the girl teasing her again but Serena being unsure of how to take it. Instead she stood speechless to the next question, knowing it would be the same as the first and thinking to stay as she was instead of reiterating herself.
Her eyes grew frantic for a brief moment, coming back to reality as she remember who her father was and how forbidden it was for her to do what she had been doing just then. "W-well no. I mean, yes. I mean, if they found out they would kill me and lock me in my room and not let me come out for...I don't even know how long and everybody would-" her panicked rant had been cut short as fear grew into her once more. Kay asking if she had been afraid only reminded her of her own fear, her hand slowly tightening around the girls' as she looked down at her. "I-I'm not scared..." she tried to lie, her gaze drifting elsewhere as she said so. She didn't want to be scared but her emotions had been conflicting ever since she first saw the girl. All of the fear and anxiety had kept her trapped in a mix of thoughts and feelings and she didn't know how to deal with it.
-
//Hey that's alright its probably going to be the same for me because of school and everything~
||Kay||
Kay's eyes widened with surprise and almost sorrow for the girl as she quickly spilled out what would happen to her if her people found out. Kay's grip loosened a bit, so now she was just holding Serena's hand gently. She couldn't believe what Serena was telling her. Lock her in a room? Why? It just seemed so cruel. The water elementals were supposed to be peaceful people and Kay certainly did not think them to be the kinds that locked their own people into their rooms. Kay knew that Serena was lying when she said she wasn't afraid, but what was she afraid of exactly? Something told Kay that Serena was not afraid of the fire elemental that had ahold of her hand, but rather what would happen to her for being seen with a fire elemental. Kay reached back up to toy with her necklace.
"They would really do that to you?" Kay asked gently, "Lock you in a room, I mean?"
Kay couldn't wrap her head around it. Sure, the fire elementals were known for being aggressive and warrior like and dare she say it, barbaric. However, they were family orientated. The well being of the people were the top priority of the territory. Everyone helped everyone. Certainly no one got locked up in their rooms for simply touching another elemental's skin. Hell, if Kay went back and told them about Serena they would celebrate her bravery and courageousness. They wouldn't shun her for it.
Kay had simply meant to tease the girl, not make her into a shaking mess. Kay could feel a slow anger start to bubble in her stomach. How dare the water folk treat their people poorly! And what else were they doing to their people?
"You don't have to be scared..." Kay said softly, Kay wasn't one for comforting others, nor was she used to being so soft. "I won't tell anyone, no one will know. Okay?"
Kay realized she was holding onto her hand. She cleared her throat and let go, letting her arm drop to her side while she still played with her necklace in her other hand, the red gemstone glinting in the dappled light that spilled through the lush trees.
-
ooc: I really went in-depth with this x3
Serena looked back over at the girl, almost regretting her big mouth spurting too many things at once. Kay had seemed to change, once looking intimidating and now looking sincere to what she had said. Are fire elementals really that bad or are they just portrayed bad? she thought to herself but she then remembered the history lessons. All the things they had done in the past that only brought them to this situation and what they were truly capable of. She couldn't help but to doubt herself about this girl no matter what she remembered in her head.
"It's just that...water isn't always so calm and peaceful...not when it's pushed too much. Small issues are like little ripples in the water and don't do much because they settle quickly. But the heavier the impact, the bigger the ripples are and they turn into waves. If those waves are big enough, they will come rushing in harshly and that's what I'm afraid of. My dad, being the whole leader of water elementals, he tries to keep the peace in the land to keep things steady. And then there's me that goes out here like he tells me not to and goes wherever. He always tells me how much you guys are trouble and to stay away from you at all costs. I'm guessing because he doesn't want to disturb the peace." Serena's eyes grew darker as she thought about this, trying to take a breath as she spoke more.
"Water essentially comes in three forms depending on the temperature. If we're kept at peace, then we're just still water with no qualms and no issues. If we become cold-hearted then we're more like ice, which can be very deadly if carved right. And if we become too heated in our emotions, we become like steam and lose control over ourselves. And with me breaking a rule like this, I essentially dropped a giant problem to my dad and his wave is not what I'm looking forward to. I have a responsibility as the leader's child to strictly follow the rules and help lead the people since I have his power as well but I chose to ignore that. We choose not to hurt our own kind so he'll find a way to punish me so that I can learn and he can keep the peace..." she took in a deep breath before letting out a sigh, looking over at the girl and forcing a smile onto her face. "But I guess a promise is a promise, right? So I'll try not to be scared."
Serena had surprised herself by how she was slowly getting more comfortable around the girl, seeing that she had been more than just intimidation. Though she had hoped that it wouldn't cause any problems for her later on as she knew it would be more than what she could deal with at the time. She could feel Kay's hand loosen before falling back down to her side, awkwardly realizing they had been holding the grasp for quite a while. She could still feel the lingering warmth from the hand she had held onto though she could only hope that she didn't want that comforting feeling again.
-
//I can so see Kay going to confront Serena's dad and Kay basically losing her shit and turn into an angry flaming mess because she cares so much for Serena~
||Kay||
Kay listened intently to what Serena was saying. Each word that Serena spoke Kay held onto. She had never heard of the water elementals this way. In fact, Kay didn't realize that they were so complicated. She just thought they were simple, peaceful folk. Obviously, she was wrong. But then again, that was like the fire elementals. They were misunderstood as well. After Serena was finished speaking and after Kay realized how much weight Serena had on her shoulders, Kay spoke.
"Fire isn't always destructive," she commented, "We aren't just barbarians. We can be warm and welcoming. We are warriors because we have to be, we need to fight to survive. All the other elements benefit from one another, you see. Water benefits earth, you give them the ability to grow strong and healthy. The wind carves the path for your streams and rivers and carries your currents. Where does fire fit in? It doesn't. We are enemies to all. We burn up the earth, we evaporate water, we choke the winds with our smoke and ash. So, all the elements rebel against us for good reason, they tried to wipe us out. The winds can blow us out, the earth can crush and smother us, and the water can reduce us to a pile of wet ashes. The only option we had, to get the other elements to leave us alone, was to make them fear us. We established dominance and therefore, no one messes with us. The earth elementals leave us alone for the most part. The winds joined us and help us grow stronger. It's you, the water folk, that keep pushing against us. That's why we are enemies." Kay sighed.
"I suppose, that's why you think we are monsters, isn't it? Why your father hates us? Why he would punish you for even seeing me? I'm sorry you have so much pressure on your shoulders, and that you have to fear your own father. It isn't right," Kay's last sentence came out as a low growl and heat began coming off of her in waves. She took a deep breath, and the heat faded. "Well, we made a promise. We will both keep our mouths shut and no harm will come to you or your reputation among your people." Kay murmured, "And please, don't be afraid of me. This place is so beautiful. I wouldn't dare burn it down."
Kay's lips spread into a playful grin. It was nice to talk to someone who wasn't a fire elemental. The water elementals were interesting folk, unlike the bland wind elementals. Kay looked up at the sky, but couldn't tell what time it was. It was hard to determine the position of the sun through the thick greenery. However, Kay was sure that she had been here with Serena for a long time. Kay's people were probably wondering where she was and vise versa for Serena...
-
ooc: Omg I can kinda see that too. Also I didn't know whether to call him a leader or the ruler or the king or something else so I went with leader cause that sounds the least like a dictatorship because water elementals are peaceful. What if they got in a relationship and then later on she said something by accident to her dad while they were eating dinner and then he got furious so she ran before he could do anything and then she ran to the fire territory calling out to Kay and her father gets into a fight with some of them trying to chase after her.
Serena could feel the air become slightly more humid around her, not knowing if it had come from the sun or from Kay herself, though as it had simmered suddenly, she knew what it was. She didn't know what could have triggered the girl to have done that though it had intrigued her. She would keep her curiosity to herself at the time, instead hearing her through on all that she wanted to say. It was interesting how the fire elementals had chosen to live and who they really were, completely different from what she was told. Of course, it may have been exaggerated for the sake of her staying away though it couldn't be exaggerated enough to hide what she had told her. She didn't know they had been fighting as they were for that reason. It had almost made her feel bad for being afraid.
"I'm sorry...for being afraid. I didn't know." she spoke shamefully, wanting to apologize for how she felt and how she had treated her earlier in fear. She let out a sigh as she looked to Kay, almost becoming hypnotized in her warm gaze, though blinking a few times to snap herself out of it. "W-well I think I should be going now." she told the girl, attempting to bury any further feelings she may have felt in the pit of her stomach. "I don't want to be out too late or my dad would get upset again. I'm already away where he doesn't want me to be. I don't want to keep him waiting." she told her beginning to turn her body away. "It was nice meeting you, Kay." she told her, not wanting to say that they probably wouldn't be able to meet ever again. It had been risky enough that they had met this one time.
Serena turned her body fully around, starting to walk back into the forest she had come out of initially. She didn't want to leave though she knew she had to. Getting too close to a fire elemental could mean bad things for her and so she took that to mind, trying to find ways to throwing away any thoughts of wanting to stay with Kay. She could see in the girls' eyes that she hadn't been lying, and yet it was all she told herself as she walked away from her, attempting to save them both by throwing her out of her mind and convincing herself that she was still just as bad.

//Sorry for the late reply but I ended up watching two movies with my family~ Omygosh I love that idea! I just love Daddy water and itty bitty firecracker getting into a fight! And I like the approach of Serina saying something on accident during dinner or something! Also sorry for the long post but I'm putting a slight time jump in here if that's okay.

Kay shrugged and smiled softly. "It's alright, most people are afraid of us. Even the wind folk who are our allies," she said gently. Kay nodded in agreement, "Yeah, my people are probably already looking for me." Kay chuckled lightly, she would have to make up some story to keep the others off of Serena's trail.
Kay watched for a moment as Serena turned to walk away. "Hey!" Kay called out, "Meet me at the border tomorrow at sunrise. Okay?"
With that Kay turned and walked briskly back towards fire elemental territory, the whole time she was biting her lip to the point where a small bead of blood dripped from her lip down to her chin. What was she thinking? Asking a water elemental to come to the fire elemental border! It would only put both of them in more danger, and yet, something in Kay wanted to see the blue haired girl again. As Kay walked she was sure that Serena wouldn't come, with the pressure from her father and all. However, Kay wanted to show Serena her territory. Although it was not as spectacular as the water elemental's territory. She licked the blood of her lip without a second thought, something she had gotten used to was literally licking her wounds. As she was nearing the border she found a beautiful flower. A type of flower she had never seen before and therefore could not put a name on it. It was a vibrant red orange with six petals. It was flecked with dark orange around the center of it. Kay was mesmerized by the flower and even though she was sure she couldn't keep it alive, she plucked the flower at the base of the stem anyway. She pressed it to her nose, the petals were soft and the scent was faint and delicate. She smiled softly and twirled the flower in her fingers, touching the soft delicate petals with her free hand.
She reached the border and as she walked through her territory she could only wince at how barren and grey everything looked. Even the trunks of trees that had survived here with minimal water or managed to dodge one of the fire sparring sessions were ashen, twisted, and grey. The foliage even seemed to be tinged with grey. The color of ash, the color of smoke. The color of the fire elemental's aftermath.
The flower she held stood out against the grey landscape and Kay would ask Serena what it was if she even saw Serena again, given that Serena had even heard her to begin with. When Kay met up with her friends and they questioned where she had been and if she had seen any water elementals Kay simply told them she had lost track of time and no, she had not come across any of the water folk. They asked her about the flower and they all wanted to touch it and hold it. They, too, had never seen a flower so beautiful and vibrant. When Kay got back home she found an old clay vase that used to hold the dull flowers of the landscape and filled it with dull grey water. She placed it on her windowsill where she gazed at it until she fell asleep, the girl with the blue hair in her mind.
The next morning, Kay woke up early and snuck out of the camp without anyone noticing her. She couldn't have her friends following her to the border. She took the flower with her, keeping it in the vase so that she could ask Serena about it. She sat down on a rock at the border and gazed into the beautiful green landscape, it was even more beautiful in the morning light and she wondered what it would look like at sunset. As time passed, she toyed with her necklace and was afraid that Serena wouldn't show up. What was she expecting anyway? Did she just think that Serena would come? Did Kay even think that Serena wanted to see her again? Kay groaned, why was she so stupid? Why was she stupid enough to get her hopes up in thoughts that a water elemental, her people's sworn enemy, would come to see her again willingly? Kay stood up, searched the border for any movement, then turned to head back home.

ooc: I'm going to be heading off to sleep~
What if I gave her a brother that ended up following her one day and seeing it and telling her dad when they were all there in the room. Hm...possibilities...
Serena had begun to head back home, keeping her head straight as she was then stopped short before she had gotten very far. The fire elemental had wanted her to meet her back at the border at sunrise. Is she crazy? We can't be seen with one another... she thought to herself, her mind being glad for the offer but knowing what would come of it if she had actually gone the next morning. She let out a sigh before continuing forward back into the forest without saying a word. She didn't want to reply to get Kay's hopes up and she didn't want to get her own hopes up. Instead, she heading back towards her home, the day already having gotten late before she knew it.
The people around the village always knew where Serena had gone and so it wasn't anything new that she had re-entered town from that direction, nearly everyone knowing who she was. Being the daughter of the leader hadn't given her much subtlety and instead, just made her all the more noticeable and popular. She headed through quickly, attempting to make it back before anyone approached her. She simply wanted to get back to her house and see what her father had cooked for dinner and so she took the shortcut, cutting through the back of a few of the houses and past the row of trees that laid beside them. Easily, she had gotten back to the house, closing the door behind her as she stepped in softly.
"You didn't go out near the border again, did you?" her father asked, already knowing what the answer had been.
"No...I didn't." Serena replied, watching him place the food on the table before them.
He had his own way of getting the information he wanted, knowing that his daughter frequently lied about going out, and so he found out from people who had seen her come back into town, though not mentioning this to her. They had a quiet dinner at the table, Serena leaving to go to her room once she had finished and leaving him in silence. She wasn't much of a conversationalist with him, especially with the way he had tried to shape her into someone she wasn't.
Laying in her bed, Serena stared up at the ceiling with her hands folded across her belly, not thinking much and only waiting for herself to fall asleep. She had an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach, wondering where it had been coming from but ignoring it altogether. Her eyes had slowly closed as she laid, still awake for a few minutes more before she fell asleep.
Serena's eyelids began to open as the sun crept into the window beside her bed. Sunrise... she thought to herself as she turned her head towards the open pane. Sunrise...she thought again, the word seeming familiar without her knowing why. Her eyes then widened as she quickly sat up in bed. Kay wanted to meet me at sunrise! she quickly thought though she tried to denounce the feeling. She had known that she wasn't supposed to be around her and forgetting that she existed would be better for the both of them.
She gritted her teeth, resisting the urge as she sat in her bed, trying to think of other things to get the girl out of her head. "Ugh!" she exclaimed silently to herself as she threw herself out of bed. Quickly, she threw on a shirt and jeans, sliding into her loafers as she headed out the door without a word. She rushed through the awakening village, making sure to not draw any attention to herself as she headed into the forest behind it, cutting through the trees as she made her way towards the clearing.
Serena ran into the open, looking out into the distance as she saw the figure heading back into the other territory. She could tell who it was though she had been out of breath, trying to collect her rasped voice. "Kay!" she struggled to call out to the girl, slightly hunched over from her running. She could only hope the elemental had heard her, not knowing how much more she'd be able to go with it.

//Yeah I'm going to head to bed as well. Oh! A brother would be an interesting dynamic. We shall see how the plot goes! Oh oh oh, or there could be a plot line where the fire elementals capture Serena and use her to try and gain more territory from the water elementals. A sort of, we won't hurt your daughter as long as we get this much of your territory sort of thing? I'm not sure about that one though haha, just something that popped into my head that I'd figure I'd bring up.
||Kay||
Kay had almost been walking home, she toyed with her necklace and her frustration with herself grew. How could she have been so stupid? Of course Serena wouldn't come. She had more important things to do. She probably didn't want to see Kay again. Serena would probably be happy if she never saw another fire elemental in her entire life. Kay bit her lip again in the same spot she did the other day and was almost surprised to feel a sizeable scab there. Had she really bit herself that hard? Kay almost didn't hear Serena call out to her. At first the fire elemental thought it was the wind whispering through the trees, but no, the voice was too familiar and wonderful for Kay to forget.
Hope swelled inside Kay along with something else that Kay couldn't fathom or understand. She turned around and saw the blue haired girl. She grinned broadly and waited for Serena to reach the border. Kay walked to meet her. She was almost self conscious of the scab on her lip and resisted the urge to brush her fingers against it or hide it. Why did she care so much about the way she looked all of a sudden? They stood on separate sides of the border. Kay on the fire territory and Serena on the water territory. Technically, they weren't breaking any rules. Kay was painfully aware of the grey background she was set against, while Serena was against a beautiful lush background that made her soft features and blue hair stand out even more.
"You came," Kay breathed. Kay really didn't know why she wanted to see Serena again. To learn more about the water folk maybe? To learn more about Serena? Kay smiled playfully and teased Serenia, "I'm surprised Daddy Turbulent didn't stop you." Kay then frowned and gazed at Serena with a concerned and warm look. "He didn't give you a hard time at all, did he?" Concern shook in her voice, something that was unfamiliar with Kay. Concern for someone who wasn't one of her people. It was odd and surprising. Her voice almost came out as a growl, almost like yesterday. She, however, kept her cool this time and choked down the heat that suddenly swelled inside of her. She didn't want to frighten Serena again.
The weight of the vase suddenly reminded her about the strange flower. Before Serena could say anything, Kay thrusted the vase towards Serena, her eyes wide and filled with a childlike curiosity. "Oh oh!" Kay said almost bouncing up and down. "I found this flower the other day on my way back to my territory. What kind of flower is it? It's so pretty! Do you have flowers like this all over your territory?" Kay grinned, eagerness plainly written across her face.
-
ooc: Hmm...that seems interesting. Maybe when her dad is chasing after her and she's calling for Kay, other fire elementals get to her first and tie her up, drag her away in front of Kay and throw her into a cage.
Serena attempted to catch her breath, standing straight as she headed towards the border with an unexpected grin on her face. Why am I smiling? I'm not even supposed to be here! she thought to herself as she headed over, only glad that she hadn't been overwhelmed with fear the second time around. She didn't know what it was about the fire elemental that made her feel this way, but she kind of liked it. She knew that the fire elementals couldn't be that bad and so he fear of them had gone down significantly almost overnight. Though of course, she was still afraid of anyone she didn't know.
Serena felt as if she had known Kay though, learning more from her about fire elementals than what she was taught. No matter how much her brain had wanted to tell her that the girl was lying, she simply had to believe it.The girl had genuine, kind eyes and she couldn't seem to mistrust them even knowing the consequences if she was caught talking to her. She wanted to learn more, or rather, it was what she told herself. She couldn't quite put her finger on why she really wanted to go out and see the girl again but now that she was here, she at least knew she was content.
Serena led herself towards the border, stopping short of the edge as she looked towards Kay. She gave a smile at the words, know that they were at least both happy that she had come. She had only hoped that her father wouldn't grow too suspicious for her leaving too early. That was, when he found out the time she left, if he ever did. Though Kay seemed to show the same amount of concern towards him almost surprising her from the question. Does she really care that much about what he does when I'm not around? she opened her mouth the answer the question, suddenly being taken aback as a vase was shoved out in front of her, looking down at the flower in the excited girls' eyes.
Serena looked up from the vase, peering into Kay's dancing pupils as she gave a small giggle in response. "That's a Tiger Lily, silly. They usually don't grow very much out here but we have all kinds back at home," she told her with a smile. So this is a girl of flowers? she thought to herself, seeing the similarity between them. "And no, my dad didn't give me any trouble. He can't get upset if he doesn't really know I'm gone." she told the fire elemental with a nervous laugh. She was used to going against his word on countless occasions but usually not as early in the morning as this.

//Ooooh~ That could be interesting!
||Kay||
Kay touched the petal of the bright orange flower and grinned. She murmured the name of the flower to herself. Kay almost felt smug that no one in the fire elemental territory knew what this flower was, that she was the only fire elemental that could hold the beauty of this flower's name.
"We don't have flowers like this in my home," Kay said almost absentmindedly, her voice was soft and almost small. She snapped eyes up to meet Serena's gaze, her gestured to the barren landscape behind her and scoffed. "As you can see, not much grows around here." She shrugged, Kay was used to it. The greys. The only way the fire elemental territory was colorful was through the red hues the fire elementals wore and the destructive ability that turned everything this ugly, dusty grey.
Kay nodded, satisfied after hearing that Daddy Turbulent (this is what Kay had decided to call him after the brief information she was given on him) didn't give Serena a hard time. "Well that's good," Kay breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at Serena, her eyes were warm and soft.
Kay thought for a moment. Her eyes hard and focused as she thought of what she wanted to say, no, what she wanted to ask. She had this new found curiosity for her enemies. But, here she was, standing with a supposed enemy and not fighting. Just standing, talking. It was... nice. Kay was compelled by the water folk, they were just as complex as her own people. They were hardly the peaceful and simple folk that Kay was taught. But. That raised a question. What did that mean for the fire elementals? What if Serena was a spy sent by her father to gain information on the fire people? No, that was silly and childish. From what Kay could see, Serena didn't have a mean bone in her body.
"I want to know," Kay murmured, almost inaudibly she looked up at Serena and continued, louder this time, "I want to know more about your people, your territory. These plants and animals and flowers. I want to know more about your family. I want to know more about you..."
Kay trailed off and her cheeks flushed as hot waves of embarrassment spilled off of her small frame like trembling, quivering heat waves. She drew the face towards her chest and bit her lip once more as she shifted her gaze from Serena on something else, anything else! Her eyes landed on a rock sitting at the base of a tree. Wow, Kay thought to herself, you are stupid aren't you?
