Giving a chance

jasper hated hearing rosie cry, but they couldnt let her walk all over them. he followed back to their room, laying down on the bed, and groaned exhausted, he would do that when he heard rosie cry but he prayed she would sleep the rest of the night. he rolled and cuddled to Clara, "good night dove," he said softly

Charles woke up the next morning his body naturally waking up to do his normal routine of taking care of the kids in the morning. but when he saw James was not in bed he remembered its not like he could do it anymore so he went back to sleep. after a while he woke up and saw the food next to him with his meds. he didnt want to eat, he wasnt feeling it but he forced a bit of food down, waiting a minute before taking his medicine, though he only had three bites before leaving the rest, he couldnt stomach anything else. he was so bored and lonely being in the room by himself all day. he didnt like these walls anymore he didnt like this room just feeling trapped.

Elijah was happily eating and playing with some toys as he ate, having slept through the rest of the night he was his normal happy self. grace was finishing up her breakfast waiting for the car to come around to take her to school she had a few minutes before she had to go. "is dad going to be okay today too?" she asked worried all night that he would die in his sleep

jasper rolled his eyes at her words, yeah a son not any time soon that's for sure. he woke to her crying but after a few she stopped and he passed out. when morning came he woke yawning, he needed to help get rosie ready for the day before work. he didnt want to leave everything to Clara anymore.

grace sighed by his words not really answering her question but took it anyways, "alright bye," she called out and headed out the door heading to school. Elijah watched James with curiosity it was strange that it was James taking care of him and not Charles so his routine was off just a bit by that but he didnt care, he was babbling like always. jasper got up and stretched going to the bathroom before going to rosie, he figured he'd get breakfast going while Clara laid in bed. he just hoped she would stay in bed for too long because he did have to go to work in an hour. he went to rosies room and saw her talking to the cat, "morning baby thank you for not waking us up again," he said picking her up and kissing her

jasper smiled to Rosie's excitement of him greeting her this morning, he loved how she mimicked him and just seemed like a happy baby/ he changed her and got her dressed before bringing her downstairs to the kitchen. "what do you for breakfast rosie?" he asked looking in the fridge thinking of what to make them. "today lets make it a good one and to do that you need a good breakfast," he said cheerfully though he was tired

Charles smiled to Elijah coming in and Elijah squeals when he saw Charles moving on the bed and crawling to him kissing his face like Charles does to him. but he also reached for the tubes again and charels took his hands to stop him and kissed them, "I missed you too," he said his voice harsh from all the coughing. "I slept alright," he said softly trying not to use his voice so much, "how did your first morning go with the kids?" he asked him hoping it wasnt too bad waking up early to do all this

jasper smiled to her words of banana, "banana," he repeated hoping she would one day pick it up. he grabbed it and cut it up for her before giving it to her than getting his and claras breakfast together. "where's mama?" he repeated for her, "mama is still sleeping she's tired," he told her sitting next to her as he ate some eggs going to cook the fresh for Clara when she woke up

Charles nodded glad to hear it went well and figured grace would be worried, she was too smart for her own good sometimes. "he shrugged at the mentioned of his sleeping, Elijah sat in his lap playing with his hands. "well my night medicine has some sleeping stuff, its not strong but I didnt sleep much to begin with last night so that helped," he said looking to him then at the bed, while he slept he still managed to get blood on the sheets and pillows, his was covered with a towel and that was stained but since he moved so much it went to other places. "I dont think there's a point in getting new sheets, im just going to ruin them again," he said with a sigh. "why dont you got to sleep ill watch Elijah," he said feeling down and thinking Elijah could help

jasper smiled at her eating and playing with her food, he went through his emails and he found his brothers number and since he couldnt physically go see him he figured he send him an email and that's what he was doing and hoped that his brother would reach out to him when he read it. he saw the time and he had to go but Clara still wasnt awake. he didnt want to wake her so he figured he was just going to be late and deal with that later, plus he wasnt sure where Charles was he hoped they could meet today and go over the meeting for tomorrow

Charles watched James, he looked so tired and he felt so bad, so he watched him fall asleep, god he wished he could do more. he was a morning person while James wasnt and it hurt him seeing James so tired like this. he sat with Elijah letting him play some educational games on his phone while James slept wanting to keep him quiet

jasper looked over seeing Clara come to the kitchen and get coffee so he started making her breakfast, "I know but I didn't want to wake you, you seem stressed and tired so I wanted to give you a break," he said smiling at her moving and kissing her cheek. "rosie missed you, youre all she ask for," he said smiling at his daughter

Charles was playing with Elijah on his phone and kissing him, trying not to cough or do anything that could wake James. when her finally woke he forced a smile, "you were tired youre doing a lot so why would I wake you?" he asked tired now, Elijah was eating all his energy his throat hurt so much as well as his lungs. "James can I have some water please?" he asked hating to ask him anything but he ran out a long time ago

jasper shrugged, he knew rosie missed him but not as much as she did Clara when she was gone. but that was her mother, normally children have stronger bonds with their mothers. "she'll be more attached to me when she's older," he said smirking remembering how his sister didnt become close to their dad till she was around 6 years old so he wasnt worried. "its fine if im late, im not even sure if Charles is going to show up," he said with a sigh hating that his friend wasnt responding or keeping him up to date with his health.

Charles took the cup and pretty much drank it all. "thanks James," he said shaking his head at needing anything else. he looked around the room, "actually can take take me outside or even to the living room, I feel like a caged animal," he said coughing a bit more.

Jasper looked to clara at her question shaking his head, “still nothing and we have an important meeting tomorrow with the company heads and another company,” he said getting up and kissing Rosie in the head, “alright I’m going call me if anything happens or if you need me,” he said going to clara and kissing her lips though it was a deeper kiss than a normal good bye kiss.

Charles nodded his head and moved to sit on the edge of the bed putting his slippers on and then stood his breathing increased quick and sharp but he wasn’t coughing yet. “Hold my hand,” he said softly reaching out for James. He hated how he could t even walk without feeling like he was going to be sick

Jaspers eyes sparked at her tease he loved when she was flirting like this. He smirked letting her grip onto the front of his shirt, “either if it’s the bed you need me in I’ll be there,” he said winking at her ready to have her call him as soon as he walked down the door he wanted her all the time but today he felt like it’s been a while. He gave her a peck back thought wanted more before pulling away. “Meeting is about my contract I’m going to change it a bit nothing drastic but it’s important,” he told clara a bit worried that if he wasn’t there things might blow up in his face.

Charles gripped his hand hard as he took a step he felt fine but his breathing started to labor more and with each step he was having more trouble breathing before going into a coughing fit when he reached the door. Leaning against the door frame his hand covered in blood and his chest hurting again. He shook his head, “I-I can’t james,” he whizzed out
