HENRY WEST - 26 YEARS - MALE - MEDICAL INTERN, SEMI-PROFESSIONAL VILLAIN OR WHATEVER

pretend the picture has glasses. i couldnt find someone who looked right and also had glasses. theyre dorky round wireframe glasses. this is incredibly important to the plot.

  • ooc: gonna start out w them encountering each other in fighting against each other context

ic: The 28-hour shifts at the hospital were fascinating, but they were absolutely killing him. Henry felt drained, and was absolutely ready to get back to his apartment. Except, he found out he was needed elsewhere.

The second internship he was doing was probably less morally right and socially acceptable than being a doctor. Also, it had shifts that were significantly shorter. Which was good, unless they took place right after he'd been dealing with blood and guts and other things that came out of the human body for the past 24 plus 4 hours. The Doctor, whose name had no relation to the much loved BBC character, usually invited him over if he needed a little help tweaking some sort of experiment. Today, however, instead of working on something, he was waiting at the door for Henry.

"I need some more materials. You know what to do." He was right about that. The Doctor was an imposing figure, with dark hair, brows that shadowed his eyes. In disguise, he looked just as scary. Henry just wore a mask, some dark clothes cobbled together. He felt a little silly, actually, but with his whole self disguised, he wasn't often seen, even by the press. He was more of a sidekick.

The Doctor was quick in entering the hospital, and quick to make a scene. Green light flashed in the lobby, and people began to scream as he slid around to the back. There were some things that they needed, and he knew where to find them.

  • ∞♧ jasper as usual was feeling tired. he loved helping out at the library, it was a great job, exactly what he’d wanted to do his whole life. but he also felt like he was missing something st times. only occasionally, librarians didn’t get to do the most exciting work. they usually helped children, people wanting to find books. and if jasper had another person ask him where the fifty shades of grey books were because they were too embarrassed to look it up on the computer, the dark haired boy may or may not end up quitting. surely it was an exaggeration, but at times it felt as if it may be true.

the boy was walking home from the library, just wanting to sleep. he passed a few quiet buildings. it was early evening, which was nice. it was peaceful, it was beautiful out as well. the boy pushed some of his dark hair out of his face, yawning softly. when he closed his eyes for a moment, he could feel the contact lenses sitting behind his eyelids. and he could hear... was that screaming?

the brunette realized it was screaming. at first, he felt anxious. he should call someone shouldn’t he? wasn’t that what you were supposed to do when you heard screaming? he tried to detect where the noise was coming from as he walked, it became faintly louder. and then he realized where it was coming from. the hospital. the boy was hesitant, but walked closer. it was the residential hospital he supposed, in the center of downtown and near everything. wait. he could do something. he was able to at this point. he had started to be some kind of half-assed hero he supposed. he didn’t really do much, but when stuff like this happened, he tried to help out. and no worries he was actually kind of good at stuff like this.

  • ooc: it's all good! oh btw theyre roommates right??

ic: Henry took a second to watch the Doctor do his work. He was kind of impressed by it, although he wouldn't admit it, because it was mostly just flashy lights. The green lightning flickered around the waiting room, and he heard him speaking. Although Henry couldn't hear, he knew what he was doing. Asking to be taken to the area where the injured criminals were kept. It wasn't actually a need of his, to free some random thieves, but it was good at throwing them off to their true motives. Henry moved away from the main entrance along the side of the hospital.

He wanted to be much less conspicuous than his boss was being. He kept his face towards the wall, as he knew if he was spotted with a mask on, that would be suspicious. He took out his keys from his pocket, and opened a staff-only door. He knew no one went through this door, as it was in an inconvenient place from the parking lot. He stepped into the stairwell, and climbed up a floor. Conveniently, the first door on the left was what he needed. The blood bank.

He wasn't sure if his boss was a vampire or something. He had monitored his behavior, he had asked, but he didn't say. However, with the way he bragged about his powers, and the drama with which he presented his projects, this mysterious blood thing was probably about some sort of... study? Plan? Not a vampire thing. He had to unlock another door before entering the room. It was cooler in here. He glanced around, then spotted the AB+ fridge, red blood cells. He opened it, and began taking some of the bags out. This felt incredibly suspicious. He worked quickly.

  • ∞♧ jasper hesitated before he entered the hospital. there was a woman crying, and a few people just standing in a corner. the boy pulled the hood of his blue hoodie over his head, obscuring any clear view of his face. he glanced around, noticing the man holding something? maybe? no? jasper wondered how’s he made the lights turn green, but he instantly reminded himself to focus.

jasper was hesitant, he had powers. they were grossly cliche and he had no idea how he had gotten them. they just showed up one day. they were ice powers. yaaaaaay. he was like fucking elsa, but on a lower note. he next few minutes passed by in a blur. the boy had frozen the one man’s hand and then run. the man had seemed rather upset, but he also didn’t seem like he would allow it to stop him.

jasper waited, the two kind of fought and kind of just hid from each other and then he was gone. the man with the green lights was gone. jasper had run out of the hospital, leaving. he slid off his blue sweatshirt once he was in an alleyway alone. it had some blood on it, but he didn’t care. he shoved it into a trash can and then sighed softly. he had a few cuts on his shoulder, but ignored it. he walked back to his apartment, just wanting to relax.

    :: yeah they are :)

  • Henry shoved the blood in the cooler he had brought. He had made sure to get AB+ because the least amount of other blood types could use it. The hospital should thank him for his charity. He checked that the coast was clear before sliding out through the door, and half-walking, half-jogging to the exit. He glimpsed someone coming up behind him, and heard a shout, and he went full speed. There was no way they could recognize him, but he didn't want them anywhere near him anyway.

He shoved his way out the door, and turned towards where he knew the car was, when the Doctor interrupted him. One hand was bright pink, a little gray on the ends. Signs of frostbite, but not advanced. "What--" He snatched the cooler away from Henry. "Go home," he said, shortly. "I have something to discuss with you next time we meet."

Okay, thought Henry, I guess I'll just wait for your command, good sir. Not like I have any medical knowledge. Bitterly, he ripped away his mask, his black hoodie, and tossed them into the hidden car of the Doctor. He had to go home, but the Doctor wouldn't give him a ride. For his own good, he said. So Henry crossed his arms, tucking his hands into his pockets, and made his way back to his apartment. As he did, he noticed something. Was that Jasper, walking ahead of him? Maybe. Henry wasn't the one to make conversation when he didn't have to. Jasper was okay, but Henry would probably get pissy at him or something. So, he just followed after him.

  • ∞♧ jasper walked back to the apartment, glancing down at his phone once or twice. he found himself back at his shared apartment soon enough though. the boy entered the apartment quietly. he let out a quiet sigh and walked into his rather small room. the brunette sat down on his bed, pulling on a grey sweatshirt over his pale pink t-shirt. he heard the door open once more after five or six minutes. it meant that henry was probably just coming back from his internship or whatever.

jasper walked out of his bedroom after maybe a half an hour. his dark eyes landed on henry, who was sitting in the main room of their apartment. he remembered the moment in the hospital with the man and the green lights and him pretty much freezing his hand. jasper hoped that henry had been okay. he remembered that his roommate interned at the hospital, which meant that the boy was potentially there when the robbery happened. maybe. he hoped the other hadn’t seen him there. he didn’t mention it or anything though, jasper just went to go get a glass of water.

  • Henry made it into the apartment, feeling simultaneously like he really needed sleep and like he was damn hungry. He decided to address the latter before the former. He'd already made it for this long, he could do it for another 30 minutes. He took off his wool coat and hung in up, and headed into the kitchen, his gait a little uneven. He supposed he would just get a bowl of cereal. Sate his grumbling stomach. He grabbed a bowl, put some random sugary-ass cereal, and poured in some milk (checking the expiration date, because he wasn't sure when the last time they bought milk was). He brought this to the little table and grabbed himself a spoon to eat it with.

Then, Jasper walking into the room make him jerk awake. He nearly bumped his bowl and spilled some of the milk. He wondered if Jasper and heard him whisper "fuck" when he was startled. He didn't seem to have. He watched him go and get a glass of water, not really realizing he was staring at Jasper. He suddenly realized that Jasper was cut. On his shoulder, there were cuts. They looked pretty bad, actually. "The fuck happened to you?" he asked. Although his voice didn't sound it, he was concerned. He put down his spoon. "Those are some wicked paper cuts," he muttered, getting to his feet, wondering if he could do something.

  • ∞♧ the dark haired boy had still been holding the glass of water when he heard his roommate speak. to be honest, henry was nice, sure he rarely showed an excessive amount of emotion, at least towards jasper. but he still found the other nice, he wasn't extremely obnoxious and put up with jasper's late nights doing nothing. so when the other boy asked him if he was alright in a rather sarcastic way, jasper was at a loss for words for a moment. "yeah, i guess so." then he realized what he had said. "shit, i actually don't know how that happened. i think i was... shit. i don't know." to be completely honest, jasper had little to no medical knowledge and figured since most of the pain had subsided from the scratches that he was alright.

the boy looked at the other boy quietly. "fuck, is it bad? do you think i have to go to the hospital or something?" jasper's voice was somewhat steady, although the prospect of having to get stitche sor something worried him.

  • Henry felt his brain starting up like an old computer, trying to go through this whole evaluation one more time. He washed his hands quickly before going over to Jasper, and gently as he could, moving the fabric away from the wounds in order to see how bad they were. "You forgot?" Henry asked, somewhat incredulously. "You trying to avoid telling me you got in a fight dealing drugs or something? I'm not an undercover cop, don't worry." As he joked, in a deadpan matter, he tried to remember where the hell he'd seen wounds like this before.

The way the scratches spread out, they seemed... familiar. Somehow. He couldn't remember one scarring pattern from a sea of injuries. Weird. He noted it for later. "Dunno if you need stitches. It doesn't seem too deep. Maybe just..." Henry yawned. "Maybe just bandages. 'N some disinfectant. Hey, do you have health insurance?" He was pretty sure he couldn't afford to lose a roommate and pay for an apartment all alone, and if he had to pay full for the hospital, well... Henry knew too intimately the cost of stitches. But, he had some materials in a first aid kid, in the bathroom, maybe. He was practically an expert-- he was given stitching duty for being snarky at the more experienced doctors sometimes. "I mean... I'm like, great at stitches, if you need it. Can you just... move your arm back and forth? A little bit?" He watched the wounds carefully. If the edges stayed together, no stitches were needed.

  • ∞♧ when he heard henry ask him and mention how he forgot, jasper rolled his eyes. “i just forgot, okay?” the boy pushed some of his dark colored hair out of his face and then held sill as the other touched the shoulder and moved the fabric away. the boy’s dark eyes landed on henry, wondering what went through the other voy’s head as he looked at his injury.

“yeah, i do have health insurance, is it that bad?” the boy felt worry course through him. he had thought it was a small injury. scratches, like he had gotten from his cat when he was a kid. but henry’s tone, and the questions he asked made the boy feel more than a bit worried. when the other asked him to move his arm, jasper nodded silently. he moved his arm a little, not necessarily a wild and wide movement, he just moved it enough to move it. that didn’t even make sense, but his mind was a little messed up right now. he was still in a bit of shock from how he had frozen the man’s hand, how he had gotten injured. it was all too surreal, but he pushed it away, more concerned with his own injury at the moment.

  • Henry watched the wound. Oh, fucking Christ, it was totally opening when he moved his arm. He shrugged to Jasper. "Looks like it might need some stitches. Just a coupla them." He straightened up from looking at the injury. His hands were hurting, but he wanted to help Jasper out of the good of his heart. No, just kidding, he just kind of wanted to show off to Jasper. Look, he hadn't wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars on just nothing. He had to be able to pick up dudes with this, somehow.

He went down to the bathroom, which was quite near, and grabbed the first aid kit he'd packed up before coming back out into the kitchen. "It's really simple, honest. Only hurts a bit." He placed it on the counter, and looked around, grabbing a cloth from a cabinet. He'd need to wash the blood away no matter what Jasper wanted, anyway. Important step. He turned on the sink and waited until it ran warm to wet the cloth. He was pretty sure this was one of the newer washcloths he'd bought after... having a similar incident which involved tossing away some bloody towels so he wouldn't be under suspicion. He turned back to Jasper, trying not to be too threatening about it. "Whaddya say?"

  • ∞♧ when henry mentioned stitches, jasper immediately felt anxious. it wasn’t that he didn’t trust his friend, or roommate, not necessarily friend. but he wanted to be friends. he watched the other leave the room, and jasper glanced down at the ground, knowing that he couldn’t rusty henry. he could trust the other boy to give him a few stitches, couldn’t he? when henry returned with a washcloth and he turned on the sink. jasper realized the other boy had asked him what he thought about this all happenings. “yeah, okay. just um... do it fast. i fucking hate needles.”

which was true, but jasper hated admitting it. he didn’t like the fear, especially since it was such a childish fear. the pushed some of his dark hair out of his face when henry walked back over to him. “you promise that it won’t hurt too bad?" then jasper realized how childish his words had sounded. “you know what, that doesn’t matter. just fucking stitch up my arm or whatever.”

  • Henry nodded at his approval to go on, and took his wet washcloth, wiping away the blood that had collected. As soon as the red was gone from the wounds, he could see them starting to well up again. He worked very methodically, almost reflexively, to clean the wound with some disinfectant. He then pulled out a little bottle of... Advil? Yeah, that was it. He'd dealt with many, many people who hated needles. He was told that there was one particular way to keep them calm. He handed the pill bottle to Jasper. "I need you to read the ingredients out loud," he explained, taking out a pair of rubber gloves, and a small packet. "And try to pronounce it right."

He tore it open to get at the sterile needle inside. This was a good investment. He had used the packets quite a few times before. He took the needle, and holding Jamie's shoulder steady, started closing up the wound. It made his fingers ache like when he wrote too much with pencil, but he could deal with the soreness perfectly well. He just tried to close it up quick, to be efficient. It only took a few minutes. He nearly got into too steady a rhythm of it, and had to jerk himself back to awareness when it was closed. He tied off the end with slightly clumsier fingers because of fatigue, and stepped back to check his handiwork. "Fuckin' done." He looked up at Jasper, and grinned, in a slightly crooked manner. "Did it hurt? I've never had stitches done before."

  • ∞♧ jasper glanced at henry. the process had felt long to him, but maybe because he was the once receiving stitches. he smiled faintly at his roommate’s crooked grin. for someone who wasn’t always expressive, henry sure let everyone know when he was proud of himself. “i mean, at first yeah. you’re lucky you’ve never gotten stitches before.” jasper had only gotten them once, right now. but his sister had gotten them multiple times. she was always doing stupid stuff. he had been glad that he hadn’t needed stitches as a child.

jasper looked at the other boy, a bit of his dark hair falling into his face. “so um, how was your day?” the question was asked because they usually asked each other, even on days where they both didn’t care about the other’s day. jasper just didn’t want to look at the news. he had seen that they were talking about him and the green lights guy and the green lights guy’s sidekick or something? and it freaked him out, he didn’t like people knowing who he was, so he was glad that you couldn’t tell who he was at all on the news.

  • Henry's grin had originally been kinda joking, but when Jasper smiled a little back, it softened into something more genuine. He must be feeling a little soft because he was sleep deprived, or whatever. He just put some basic bandages over the stitches to keep them clean, then tore away his gloves, tossing them in the garbage. He nodded to Jasper. "'M surprised I never needed them. Got into a lot of shit as a teenager." He went to grab his bowl of cereal. It was all gross and soggy, but if he didn't eat something he would feel dizzy, so he shoved it reluctantly in his mouth.

He sat own next to Jasper, and noticed that he seemed kind of freaked out. He wasn't sure if it was needles, because he had said he was scared of needles, or whatever it was that gave him the wounds. He leaned on the table as he replied to his question. "It was really long, but pretty good," He said, fatigue seeping into his voice. "Someone got severe gangrene in their foot 'cause they left their shoe on for too long and their toe fell off. That was cool." He put his chin in one hand, and looked up at Jasper. "How about you? Besides the whole getting injured and then having to get stitched up thing."

  • ∞♧ the dark haired boy smiled faintly. the boy’s description of his day was interesting, and pretty gross. "that’s actually fucking disgusting. i could never do any sort of medical work. it’s gross." although it was gross, it was a necessary thing for the human population for some reason. but jasper was glad that he wasn’t required to do any sort of medical work or anything.

when the other asked about his day, aside from his injury (which the other still didn’t and would hopefully never know how it happened) jasper wasn’t at all hesitant to answer. "oh, it was pretty nice i guess. nothing special happened, which was nice i guess."

:: low quality post bc i’ve had a low quality day smh
