  • Mika had been padding through the streets of Solar City, easily weaving her way through the crowds of NPCs, alert as usual. She could recognize a few people by their scents, and noticed Doll's. "Doll?" Mika called. Doll had been the first one to greet the blind kitsune, and had a disability as well, which meant she knew what it was like to be treated as if she were made of glass.

*:・゚✦ The young female's ears would perk as she heard her name, ruby eye blinking. Turning to look to Mika- the one who had called out her name- the feline would focus on the other. Normally she tended to walk blindly regardless the fact she still had one of her eyes, but now it was time to focus on what she was doing.

"Yes, Mika?" Doll would ask soundly, her head tilting to the side slightly as she awaited an answer. She was mildly curious why the kitsune had singled her out in particular, although it wasn't as though she weren't interested in speaking with the other. Perhaps they held an interesting conversation for her.

    "Speech."

  • //Mika's rper has no idea how to actually make friends and writes this awkwardly

The kitsune easily caught up. "How are you?" Mika asked. The kitsune was also curious on how Doll saw the world, compared to how Mika did.

*:・゚✦ //Doll's roleplayer has never made a real friend in their life either so they're pretty much in the same boat at this point

Stalling slightly so that they would be able to meet at the same walking pace, the feline would take a small breath before responding. "I'm good, and how are you? Are you settling into Sunclan alright?" she would respond curiously, her tail giving a flick.

    "Speech."

  • "Fine. It's a bit too crowded for my tastes. I usually lived by myself, able to detect any dangers, and left before they reached me." Mika said. It was sometimes disorienting, learning everybody's scents and what sounds they made.

*:・゚✦ Doll allowed the other to voice their opinions on Sunclan, taking in what they had to say. So it was a bit crowded.. the feline understood that. Sometimes she too was finding herself growing a bit uncomfortable with the bustle of Sunclan. That was why she preferred to take long walks, usually in less frequented parts of the territory. Sometimes she even wandered out to explore the great unknown. Perhaps that was simply the detective in her showing off, but she was always interested in what was beyond her feeble sight.

"Well there's no real reason to fear danger here. Yes, sometimes we do have enemies trying to fight us- but we're also a clan that protects each other from harm" Doll would reassure, a small hum escaping her jaws.

    "Speech."

  • "True. Still, old habits are hard to break, right?" The white kitsune could fight, sure, to defend herself, but never really had others to rely on. "Most loners would think I wasn't able to defend myself due to my blindness, even my own parents ditched me after I lost my sight."

*:・゚✦ "Understandable" Doll would nod as the kitsune spoke of old habits being hard to break. Well that was certainly true. She herself still acted as though a detective, even if that wasn't her job anymore. Like she didn't have to spy on people and observe their actions, or search for little clues that were rather nonexistant at the moment.

Hearing the other go on about how many thought they were defenseless due to their blindness, Doll couldn't help but nod in agreement. She knew the other wouldn't see her doing so, but she couldn't help but relate to the statement. "I get what you mean. My father left me and my mother when I was born because of a tumor in my left eye. And not even my mother really treats me like I can defend myself. She treats me as though.. as though a doll. I suppose that's why I have that as my name. I'm just a porcelain doll to her. I'm to be looked at but not touched. Although it's not too bad. And I can still partially see. I just have one eye instead of two. And technically speaking I can sort of see out of both my eyes. It's just that one is glass.. and doesn't see how normal eyes see" the feline would voice, suddenly realizing she might have just spilled more information to a basic stranger than she was comfortable with. Perhaps she just felt safe with the other. How silly was that though? She wasn't supposed to feel safe with strangers. Quite honestly that was a stupid choice- they could easily betray her at any second.

    "Speech."

  • Not many liked to share information with the kitsune, often lying to her face. Of course, most didn't know she knew they were lying by listening to their heartbeat. "I understand. People dance around me as well, either because I'm considered delicate or I just unnerve them. Used to have normal eyes, until I got some sort of substance in them." She flicked one of her tails in irritation. Mika had to learn how to use her blindness to her advantage on her own. Nobody bothered to help her as a kit. "How do you 'see' out of your glass eye, exactly?" The kitsune asked.

*:・゚✦ It almost seemed as though the female however was thankful for her honesty. They didn't seem unhappy at all from the information they gained. Of course though it wasn't sad news. It was neutral. For some reason though Doll felt the other had been judging her truth in her words. It seemed she had passed however, so perhaps she could go on to not worry about things. Yet.

"Oh, so you weren't born blind? Hmm.. So how did you adapt to seeing? Clearly you know how most things should look. You just can't see them as they are now" the feline would ask, single eye blinking.

    "Speech."

  • "After I lost my sight, I worked on honing my other senses, and learned to build a picture of the world around me. My hearing became much better, as well as my sensitivity to temperatures. I could tell how big prey was from the body heat, scent, and sounds they made, as well as how far away. Same for intruders on my territory. My senses became like a radar, and all I had to do was pick out what I needed to focus on, and I could almost see them. What I see is..." the kitsune paused, trying to think of a way to describe it, "everything is red."

*:・゚✦ "Oh well that's interesting. So everything is just red for you? But otherwise things look the same?" Doll would inquire, her tail flicking. If they could see and everything was just red for them, then did it really count as being blind? Doll didn't really think so. In her mind you were blind if you couldn't see at all, but Mika actually seemed to be quite well off in her opinion.

    "Speech."

  • "Well, it's what I can picture really. It's all based on everything I pick up. When I don't focus on it, no, I don't see anything. I usually don't focus unless I'm fighting or navigating." The kitsune gestured to the large crowd with one of her tails. "But when I do, I can tell that that person-" she pointed to an NPC, "Had a run in with Thea, two, no three days ago. His fur's still singed. And I thought she was doing better than what she told me before." The kitsune sighed, but directed her attention to another NPC. "That person has fractured ribs. It sounds like an old ship when his bones shift instead of horrible grating. So yeah, I learn a lot about my Clanmates just by listening close enough. Almost makes up for sight. And not detecting Beck. How does he do that, anyway?"
