  • The elf continued to stare at the man curiously, but did not press him on his explanation. He looked down at the apple core of his finished apple. Although he was still hungry, he felt a bit content of finally having something to eat. He wished he could give more in gratitude, but he didn't have anything of value on him. A dagger that was used for magic and defense was not worth much to a guard. The necklace around his neck was given to him by his mother, but was probably worth little to nothing. "I..." He muttered under his breath.

  • Tristan raised his hand, "Allow me to stop you there: No! I appreciate the thought, I truly do. But you do not. Have to give me. Anything! Merely saying 'thank you' is enough." He didn't mean or want to offend. And yet...What was with the other male?! He was practically giving Tristan things. Things he didn't want or obviously need.

  • The elf continued to stare at the human. Not sure what to make of the taller individual. "Th-Thank you...?" He stuttered, not sure if that sufficed as payment. He was about to say something else, but his vision suddenly blurred. He rubbed his right hand over his eyes. That was not a good sign.

  • "What's wrong?" He couldn't have been hungry again. He must've been sick. Or worse...

Seeing as Elaine was only half-elf, the only information Tristan knew of the full species came in sparse passages from books. The guard had no idea what to do if a real elf suddenly fell ill. "Are you sick? Shall I take you to a doctor?" He reached out to the thief. Unsure if this was a good idea or if he could do anything.

  • (WOAH! Okay I’m so sorry. I had to work all day. I wasn’t planning on it but I needed hours. I’ll read everything and then post!! I’m sorry for the delay!! They didn’t get give me a break even though I worked 11 hours...)

  • The half elf had decided to go out late in the evening. She wanted a break from her studying. The female was desperately trying to connect with her magical side, though it was difficult. It seemed she was more human than elf at times, even though that wasn’t true. Being a halfbreed wasn’t easy. It took a lot more energy to produce spells and such, which was a pain. Elaine absolutely despised her human self.

She made her way into the town, going to a few shops. She was hoping to run into Tristan at some point, but knowing he was on duty she doubted that would be true. As she left a clothing store, she heard a commotion down the block. She turned, seeing a vendor chasing a supposed thief. Though, she squinted her eyes and could tell the thief was an elf. Her whole entire body tensed. Before she could move, she saw Tristan. She had to help.

The female made a dash to the vendor. She paid for the apple, then bought two more. She went to the closest bakery and bought some bread as well. She also got a cup of hot tea from a café. She hurried down the block, quickly approaching the elf and her lover. “Um.. excuse me?” She smiled with her sweet voice. “I’ve paid for the apple for you, sir. As well as gotten you something to eat.” She added, kneeling and presenting the elf with the items she’d purchased. She set them next to him, standing. She looked to Tristan. “I hope this helps the situation, officer.” She smiled.

  • (It's fine, don't worry.)

"I'm fine." The elf tried to say in a steady voice, but it came out more meek. It also helped that his brain was causing the world around him to spin around. He knew he had been sick for quite a bit of time, but it didn't start to him until now. The elf wasn't sure if he should tell the man. "I can't afford an apple and you've already done too much for me already." He folded his arms, trying to keep himself warm.

At the sudden appearance of a girl, he nearly jumped out of his skin. He nearly drooled at the sight of a warm beverage and more food. He gently reached out for the items, giving the girl a wary glance. However, he seemed thankful and began drinking the hot tea. How long had it been since he had last had a drink. He did not have the energy to produce drinkable water magic and the water that he had access to wasn't exactly sterile (and he didn't need to make himself more sick). It wasn't long before the drink was gone. "Th-Thank you." He stuttered, his face warm from the tea but also from embarrassment.

  • It was a relief to hear the elf truly say "thank you." And it was even better than Elaine had arrived on the scene. Bearing more food and the news that she had paid for the apple. "Now that you have arrived, yes." Tristan agreed, smiling. The young magic-user and him shared a...Special relationship. Okay: They were lovers. He cared deeply about her and she cared deeply about him.

"You're welcome...I never caught your name, sir." Guards usually didn't ask the names of their suspects. Seeing as they'd be briefed before hand; On occasion.

  • Elaine smiled to the elf. “You’re very welcome. I do hope that soon you find a source of income.” She bit her lip. He was an elf. Maybe he could teach her? She’d pay him to tutor her. She thought about it, though looked to Tristan. “Trista- I mean.. officer. Can he be free to go? His fine has been paid, I’m sure he won’t do it again.” She pleaded with her famous puppy dog eyes.

  • How could Tristan resist the puppy dog eyes? "Ah, sure! So long as our friend promises to be on his best behavior." With the laugh that came with and a jovial tone, you'd assume he was joking. But he was serious about letting the elf go. And serious in his hope that the white-haired one didn't go back to stealing. Elves like him did not have to be forced into crime.

  • Aleigh smiled. She looked to the elf, offering her hand to help him up. “Mmm.. before I go can I ask you something, sir?” She hesitantly tucked her hair behind her pointed ear to reveal it. “I.. i need some help.. connecting with my magic. Could you tutor me? Please?! I’ll pay you...!” She pleaded, once again using her puppy dog eyes. She glanced to Tristan. “Don’t leave..” she mumbled.

  • The elf stared at the other man, wondering if he should tell them his name. "Ashur. My name is Ashur." He decided that it would be better for him to best honest with them. They had basically paid for his crime and for his food.

He was about to leave, but suddenly the girl had caught his attention. She had obviously wanted to ask him something and who was he to deny her request. At hearing her words, he just stared at her with a rather shocked expression. "I'm not a recognized magic-user. Besides, there are better magic-users in the university and-" However, he cut himself off when another feeling of disequilibrium hit him. However, this time it couldn't be stopped. He suddenly collapsed to the ground.

  • Elaine tensed as the Ashur fell to the ground. She quickly grabbed him, at least to soften the males fall. She looked to Tristan. “Radio for medical or something..!” She snapped. She gulped, laying the male down. She started muttering different healing spells, but none worked. It started to frustrate her. “Why isn’t this working...?!” She growled under her breath, continuing.

  • (How much do either of you know of the wild west? Or sci-fi?)

Tristan reached for the enchanted glass figure meant to serve as a communication means between guards and the related facilities. "I need a medic! An elf has collapsed and I'm unsure of what to do! I cannot tell whether his sickness is fatal." Being a member of the guard didn't make you immune to fear. This situation further proved that.
