Mia’s face fell when he explained his reaction, shoulders slumping. She didn’t know what to say in response to that, so she grew silent and glanced at the floor. And that was why he was off limits. Even if she wasn’t available herself, she could never compete, or compare with his wife. She returned a bit to normal when he suggested they peel potatoes. Mia went and looked around in his drawers for a couple of potato peelers and then stood by the sink to pee. ”The pork looked good, how are you making the potatoes?” she asked, going along with the topic change

LOUIS JARETH REYNOLDS
★ ★ ★ The male smiled softly. "Just regular garlic mashed potatoes." He explained as he cleaned a few potatoes off so the two of them could peel them. He handed her one, seeming to warm up more as he interacted with her.
"Cause after loving you, I can never be the same."
-
Mia took the potato from him and started peeling, slowly and being careful not to get any on the floor or make a mess. ”Mm that sounds really good,” she said. ”One of these days I’ll have to make dinner for you guys. I can make really good chicken parm,” she boasted jokingly. She had only ever cooked for a big group of people once, and that was a year or so back. But she had liked it and figured it would be fun to do again, especially for someone she owed.

★ ★ ★ The male chuckled a bit as he began to peel the potato. He looked over at her, his eyes shimmering. "I think that'd be great." Louis admitted with a wide smile, his gaze not leaving her as he noticed small things he had never noticed before. She had dimples when she spoke and when she smiled. He thought it was adorable.
"Cause after loving you, I can never be the same."
-
Mia smiled in return. ”Cool.” she said, since it was the only words she could form with him looking at her. She focused on peeling the potatoes, slowly and carefully so she didn’t accidentally cut her finger off. She placed the potatoes off to the side on the counter. Mia still felt Louis looking at her so she glanced up again to meet his eyes. ”What?” she asked quietly.
-
-
Mia tried not to blush as well but she couldn’t help it. ”Oh. Yeah. I have those,” she laughed nervously and stared at him a little longer while he looked away. What was happening? What were they doing? Mia sighed quietly and focused on the potatoes, trying really hard to distance herself from the connection that was happening. She didn’t want to but it was for the best. She glanced at the time, not sure how late it had gotten and if Naomi was going to be getting out of school soon.

★ ★ ★ The father looked up as he heard the door knob turn. He smiled widely as Naomi stepped in, yawning as she rubbed her eyes. He walked over to her, picking her up and hugging her. He always knew she was tired when she got home from school. She was in advanced classes, even this early in her life. He set her down on the couch, turning on cartoons as he grabbed her teddy. He kissed her forehead as she hugged his arm. He smiled softly and walked back into the kitchen as Naomi sleepily focused on the cartoons.
"Cause after loving you, I can never be the same."
-
Mia glanced over as well when Naomi returned, and she smiled, calling a greeting to the little girl, though stayed in the kitchen while Louis brought her over to the couch. She had been so focused on watching and admiring their relationship, that she ended up cutting her finger. Exactly what she had been trying to avoid. She mumbled to herself in frustration and washed her finger, as well as the peeler thoroughly with soap while she held a paper towel to her thumb, applying pressure.

★ ★ ★ Louis frowned deeply as he saw that Mia had cut her finger. He grabbed band aids from the bathroom and laughed a bit as they were Hello Kitty. "Sorry, it's all we got." He said with a snicker and put the band aid on her finger. "Would you mind keeping Naomi company? She's always exhausted after school cause of her advanced classes and could use a cuddle buddy." Louis smiled softly.
"Cause after loving you, I can never be the same."
-
Mia wasn’t expecting him to go and get her bandaids, her plan was just to let it bleed and when it stopped that was that. But nope, Louis grabbed bandaids, hello kitty ones at that. Mia laughed and watched him put it on whispering a thank you. ”Sure. I should probably keep my blood out of dinner anyways,” she nodded and threw away the papertowel before heading over to the couch, sitting down next to Naom. ”Hey there kiddo. How’re you feeling, how was school?” she asked softly.

★ ★ ★ The male blinked and smiled softly, watching her as she walked into the living room with his daughter. He continued to make dinner. Naomi yawned and looked up at Mia with a sleepy smile. "Pretty boring, just really tired."
"Cause after loving you, I can never be the same."
-
Mia yawned when she yawned - it was contagious, you know? She nodded though, reaching up to run a hand through her messy hair. ”Understandable. I’m tired myself, I even took a little nap,” she sunk down into the couch a bit, turning to face Naomi. ”You want to take a little nap before dinner or just relax and watch tv?” she asked, Mia leaning her head on the headrest of the sofa.
-
-
Mia nodded and reached up to rub her own eyes, and then smiled as the little girl cuddled into her. ”Alright we can do that,” she said quietly and put her arm around Naomi, looking down at her for a bit before turning to watch whatever cartoon they had put on the tv. Dinner smelled really good and every once in a while her stomach made gurgling sounds in hunger
-
-
Mia glanced back at him when he announced it was ready, and then she shifted back to Naomi. She tickled her sides a bit, ”Let’s go princess, I’m starving,” she said and scooped the kid off the couch in a dramatic way before placing her on her feet softly. ”No running, but, first one there gets extra dessert,” she challenged as she started to head to the dining area.

★ ★ ★ The girl squeaked as Mia spoke and fast walked into the kitchen, making sure she moved faster than Mia. Once she got there first, she laughed triumphantly and stuck her tongue out at Mia before climbing in her seat.
"Cause after loving you, I can never be the same."
-
Mia walked a tad slower too, but made it seem like she was disappointed when Naomi one. ”Darn,” she pouted and then stuck her tongue out back at the little girl. She laughed and then slid into her chair as well, but waited for Louis to come back before she started eating, wanting to be polite and have them all there. ”It looks and smells really good Louis,” she complimented
