  • It had been months since she had last visited this territory. So much had changed but it still felt like home. Wavewing swooped into a tree and morphed into a cat, jumping down and padding up to the building. The semi-goddess had left this place a while ago for reasons even she didn't know; it was almost as if she had disappeared with no explanation. She could hear the buzz of life that was almost never present when the clan was new. This was great but also worrying because maybe her old friends wouldn't recognize her or even still be in the clan. She hoped at least Grayscale would still be there, maybe even Windchimes. Wavewing walked up to the door and looked in...

Edit: I can't get my little tag that says "The District Nurse" to change so sorry if it confuses the actual current nurse.

also Wavewing is an idiot and doesn't realize that most of her friends have left

  • //Welcome back Wavewing!! It's Nebullama, by the way. <3

-- Unfortunately for the shapeshifter, her friends had left. And replaced by a few other people that were way more determined than Whimsychatter. He hadn't been too active lately, but he was determined to get back on his feet, despite his recent depression. There were people out there in the world who were doing much worse than him and still got around fine, so why shouldn't he? It wasn't like the torturing left him disabled or anything. Just physically, and mentally, scarred. Fun.

The fox trotted over to the door where the stranger's face was visible, assuming she was merely a visitor from who-knows-where, though he couldn't exactly pinpoint a place. She didn't smell like any particular clan, other than this one. A blue feline that seemed to be made out of water...he definitely didn't recognize her. He would fine out what her business was here in a minute, so there wasn't much point in trying to guess. Time to stop standing there awkwardly and actually do something.

"Uh, hey there," he said, his usual grin present (though more dismal than intended), "You aren't a member of the District are you? No, you can't be. In that case, yeah, you're sort of trespassing. No biggie though, most people do that." He gave her a wink before continuing, "Anyway, what brings you here?"

  • ★ — Rose Quartz trailed behind Whimsychatter, her ears pointed towards Wavewing as she smiled softly. She did not recognize the other, but she found herself admiring their watery pelt; it reminded her of her own, shimmering and translucent. This thought circled in her mind as she took a stand beside her clanmate.

Seeing as Whimsychatter had already asked the necessary questions, the principal simply awaited Wavewing’s reply, sweeping her scientific gaze over the other. Perhaps they were joining - that would be lovely. More members were always nice, and although they were moving slowly at the moment, newcomers would be welcome. In fact, she had been hoping some would show up. Smiling at this thought, the spirit gave the other an encouraging grin, swishing her feather-like tail in a friendly manner.

  • She was first greeted by a nice fox who seemed almost familiar in a way she couldn't quite place and then someone else who had a very interesting pelt. In response to the questions, she said "Well, I used to be a member but I'm not sure anymore. I was one of the original District members but I kind of left for a little bit and I thought I would come back and rejoin, I guess." She stood there for a second and realized she had forgotten something important, "Oh, also, my name is Wavewing." The currently feline waited for a response.

// I cannot figure out these colors as usual and hey ffffrrrrriiiieeeennnnddd also a cake llama

  • ★ — Rose Quartz dipped her head respectfully as the water-feline spoke, their words ringing in her ears? An original District member? That sounded like an interesting title, and the spirit made a mental note to inquire about the feline’s backstory later.

Then we welcome you back to The District, Wavewing,” the she-cat purred gently, her pelt shimmering the stars that adorned it twinkled an uplifting melody. “My name is Rose Quartz, the Principal, and a pleasure,” she offered this with a kind smile to the other, but still leaving some room on the stage in case Wavewing had more to say or Whimsychatter wished to contribute.

  • "Oh, I didn't realize there was a new principal. Nice to meet you Rose Ouartz" As she said this, a small beetle started walking up on to her paw, she quickly flicked it off with a stream of water and waited for a response. She looked around a bit more at her old home and noticed that one of her old friends was gone from the forest where he usually loitered around. She also wondered about what had happened to Windchimes. Had she stepped down? Gotten killed? Wavewing was curious to find out. "Also, what happened to Windchimes? She used to be the principal."

//sorry about the color, still trying to figure that out, it used to be a lot easier

  • ★ — / it’s quite alright! Color codes can be tough, and I don’t completely understand them myself, haha.

Rose Quartz nodded in reply to Wavewing, and an amused smile crept onto her maw when the beetle fell onto the soil. She nudged the insect back onto its little legs and pushed it to the side before speaking and making eye contact with the returning member.

We’ve had a few, and its great to meet you too,” she offered first, contemplating answers to the watery feline. “Well, from what I understand, she was really inactive for a couple of months, and eventually Solas -“ she looked around for Windchimes’ adopted son, but continued when she didn’t see him “- her adopted son, took over. Solas stopped down later and so did his deputy, so I stepped up.

  • "Hmm, I didn't know being principle was so difficult." Wavewing pondered this while also thinking about her old home. She had traveled far to get away from the small island. Some would have said it was like heaven but to those who lived there and loved adventure, it felt like a pair of too-tight handcuffs. When she was finally able to get away, the first civilized thing she saw was the school and she decided to stay there. Now her friends were gone, she needed to make new ones but at least the first two people she met were very nice.

  • -- Had Whimsychatter thought of it, he probably would have stepped up to be principal. Darn it. He probably would have regretted it and stepped down anyway, or become so inactive that someone else would step up, like what happened with Windchimes. Windchimes. This stranger was her friend? Small world.

"You were friends with Windchimes? How'd you pull that off? Hell, I hardly even saw her." He wasn't being intentionally rude, of course, but as of late his words had scrambled their way into sentences that often seemed inconsiderate. Maybe it was because of the cold, or his depression. Or both.

  • ★ — Rose Quartz contemplated Wavewing’s statement for a moment, and eventually, she shook her head. “I guess they just had things going on,” she offered blandly and with a quiet sigh. Komaeda hadn’t exactly meant to die, and Solas did deserve a childhood, but what about her? Was the fact that she wasn’t finding leadership a burden mean she was not doing well as a leader? She dismissed the thought, but she would no doubt return to it later.

Whimsychatter’s harsh comment about the former leader caused her a quiver, but she gave the warrior a look of disapproval and left it at that. “Would you like a tour of the school, or maybe an escort to your room?” she purred instead, hopefully changing the subject.

  • "Well, she was a lot more active when I was first here and she was the first person I met so I guess thats how our relationship managed to last." Wavewing finished the sentence and paused. She hadn't really thought about Windchimes since she had left and now there were people who were seemingly rude about her. Turning to the current principle, she said "If it is still possible, I had a room that felt as if the tropics had combined with a space age lab. Is it still there?" She really hoped it was. That room had been hand( or rather, paw) decorated by Wavewing and she hoped her hard work remained.

  • ★ — Rose Quartz nodded as Wavewing spoke about Windchimes, suppressing a sigh. The other hadn’t been such a great leader when she was around, but it was possible they were before then, so there was no need to be rude towards the idea. But the Principal still found reason to smile - Wavewing had had a relationship with Windchimes because she was nice when they met, and perhaps the same thing could be fostered with her.

Hmm...” she purred, thinking about the room the watery feline was describing. It didn’t sound familiar, but she hadn’t exactly found the time to poke through all the rooms yet. Nevertheless, it sounded like a cool place, and she found no reason to think it was taken apart. “I would think so. Do you know where it is?” She held open the door for Wavewing, so they could enter the building and lead the way, if they knew.

  • //I've kind of given up on this thread, if you ever find yourself in Wavewing's room, it's set up like a tropical paradise but it has a bunch of science and medical stuff hidden everywhere
