Welcome to Camp Half-Blood, a place for young demigods to learn about themselves in a safe, friendly environment! We hope this friendly orientation will answer any and all questions you might have about yourself and the world around you! Now, first things first: what is a demigod, you might ask? Well, you are! A demigod is an individual who is the child of one mortal, or human, parent and one immortal, or godly, parent! This makes you very special! As a demigod, you might find yourself with fantastical powers, or newly enhanced physical skills. You may also be dyslexic, as you are a child of a god from Greek mythology, meaning your brain is trained to read and understand ancient Greek; not so much English. However, your powers and special heritage are not all fun and games. Monsters, creatures straight out of nightmares, will smell your blood and hunt you for no other reason then to eliminate you from this world. Certain things, like cell phones, will draw these beasts right to you. So the mortal world can be a very dangerous place for a demigod like you. But fortunately, Camp Half-Blood is a place that is both safe, and will teach you to hone your powers so that you may defend yourself should the need ever arise.
Here at camp, you will be divided into cabins based on your godly parent. Don't know who that might be? Not to worry! Shortly after arriving to camp, your parent will claim you so that you will know where it is you belong! While at camp, you will be taught fighting skills and control of your powers through many fun and exciting activities! As any summer camp, you will make lots of friends too! At the end of the summer, you will be sent back home with the knowledge and skills to go about your day to day lives in as safe a manner as possible! Obviously, only the basics of being a demigod have been covered in this instructional session, and you are bound to have many more questions. Many of your fellow campers are knowledgeable individuals, and will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have! We hope you enjoy your summer at Camp Half-Blood, and remember; all the stories are true!
