  • Bryan didn't know how to explain that he's not an evil spirit to her if she starts to freak out from that, but thankfully, she didn't. He immediately dropped the subject and didn't bring it up again, happy to get over it. He didn't deny the idea that it was too dangerous to return, but again, they couldn't bring too much attention to themselves. If they do bring too much attention, it might lead to more than the current number of shadows hunting her. "We go back. Keep the Scythe close to you. I'll try my best to not be useless as I have been so far." He mumbled, his hand subconsciously going to wear his sword is hanging by his side. It had became the normal handle now. "And you don't have to look through everybody's past, there are nearly 700 student in your school, and it might exhaust you too much, so let's just watch our backs for any suspicious people. Problem is, I am not really allowed to say who the owner is if I find them, It's a silly rule from the Heavens." He said with a sigh.

  • Aleigh frowned. “I hope I never have to say this again... don’t ever call yourself useless. You’re not. If you do, say it in your head or not around me. I don’t wanna hear that..” she hissed. She sighed. “I don’t mean to bark orders, but don’t ever say that about yourself again.” She shrugged her shoulders. She sighed, putting the scythe in her belt loop, keeping it close as he instructed. “Well.. I know that it’ll exhaust me.. but if I don’t figure it out for myself, you won’t be able to tell me anyway.”

  • "I'll still protect you from them, you could know who they are fron the way I act around them." He said, rubbing his hand on the back of his neck awkwardly. He looked at the watch around his wrist, it was near lunch now, 2 or 3 minutes until the bell rings for it, which means it'll be exactly lunch when they go there. "We better start walking." He mumbled, stroking his dark hair to try and make it less dishevelled than it already is. "I'm curious what Alex will say, what'd think he'll say?" He said, putting his hand in his pocket and changing the subject.

  • “That probably would be easier.” She shrugged, glancing to bryan. “Huh? Oh.. right.” She began heading back. She was trying to think about it logically. Who could the shadow have been attached to..? She shrugged it off, hearing Bryan mention Alex. Before she answered, she turned her head towards him. “You.. didn’t see anything attached to Alex right?” She asked, a bit worried. “Someone like him doesn’t deserve to have something happen like the shadow in the classroom.” She mumbled. She really did did care for Alex, maybe even liked him a little. Though, she always denied it.

  • Bryan shrugged, he didn't have any specific feelings or emotions towards Alex, you could say he's neutral about him. "It's not really our choice whether somebody deserves something or not, it's truely in destinys hands. Even the Heavens can't predict the future, they just guess it and it mostly turns out to be correct." He said, shaking his head. "It's his choice of who he wants to be his Mu'suul, or Guardian, you could find multiple Mu'suuls and they will either be like me or the shadow. In the end, you have to choose one to stay with you and be your Loyal Guardian." He continued, looking at the Scythe that is in Aleigh's belt. He wasn't sure if Aleigh will stumble against any other Mu'suuls, and he certainly can't stop her, but it would probably feel odd to have another person like him around since they'll both know what brought them there.

  • Aleigh bit her lip. “Well.. I meant he just doesn’t... need a shadow in his life. Someone like you would be fine.” She shrugged it off. She continued walking, glancing to Bryan. “Will.. I have to pick..?” She asked. “Not now, but like... eventually?” She tilted her head. Though, they reached the school. She walked in. She checked the time, it was time for her lunch. The school had divided lunch into 4 different times based on the type of classes (ex: Any Reading/Lit and Foreign language classes would be together etc). Aleigh didn’t want to eat, so she headed straight for the library and went back to her corner.

  • Bryan was just walking around, looking at everybody in the library and making sure non of them are the holder of the shadow. He sat down beside Aleigh cross-legged after a while of pacing around, sighing and looking at the shelves of books before Alex approached them. "Hey, Aleigh. I guessed you'd be here." He said softly, adjusting his black rimmed glasses onto his nose. Bryan looked up at him but didn't move and just kept watching him to see what he'll do. He soon took his glasses off and just held it in his hands. "Are you okay? You seemed panicked today." He asked. Bryan's black hair fell over his aqua colored eyes and he didn't bother to move them.

  • Aleigh sighed, just getting nuzzled into her seat before Alex approached her. “Yeah I guess I’m always here...” she shrugged. She looked at him watching him take his glasses off. “Huh? Oh.. panicked I guess is an understatement..” she rubbed the back of her neck. “I’m just kinda.. paranoid.. I got attacked yesterday by.. something. When the lockdown happened.. I panicked..” She took her jacket off to reveal the bandages, which had completely through with blood. She tensed. “oh shoot! I didn’t even realize.. oh god..” she stood up. “I gotta go to the nurse, now.” She stood up, grabbing her things. She looked to Alex, or past Alex kinda to Bryan for a moment before back to Alex. “Come with me.. I don’t like hospitals or nurses.. they freak me out.” She pouted.

  • Alex's eyes slightly widened at the sight of the blood and the bandages. "Yeah, sure." He nodded when she asked him to go with her, helping her grab some of her stuff too. "Let me help you with some of that." He said with a soft smile, taking more of the things she was holding into his grip and holding them. Bryan couldn't help but released muffled laugh at the moment when she asked Alex, that was completely unexpected, especially after she denied that she liked him. He just stayed by them, not wanting to leave Aleigh's side too in case the shadow returned or anything else came to attack her.

  • Aleigh pouted. “I can carry my things Alex..” She didn’t exactly forcefully try to stop him. She turned back, mainly to look at Bryan, before making it look like she was making sure she had everything. “Okay let’s go..” She began walking that way. She looked to Alex, then back to her bandages. “Shoot! I didn’t even feel my stitches rip... it must’ve happened when..” she mumbled to herself, her voice trailing at the end. “Must’ve happened when that smoke surrounded me...” she continued to walk. The reached the nurse eventually. She walked in, and the nurse was able to patch her stitches enough to make it to the end of the day, if she chose to stay. Aleigh thought about it. “No.. I think I’ll call my mom and have her come get me.. so I can go get them patched..” she got her phone out, dialing her moms number.

  • Alex glanced at Aleigh with an unreadable expression when she mentioned the shadow, his eyes the same way and it was almost impossible to try and guess what he was thinking of. He turned his head around again after mere moments, he hadn't even asked "when what?" When her voice trailed off. Alex stayed beside her for the whole ordeal, watching silently as she was patched up temporarily. Bryan just kept throwing second glances at Alex, he felt really unsure of him for some reason, and he didn't know why. Alex was looking around the room when Bryan thought their eyes had met for a split second.

"Hello? Aleigh? Is everything okay?" Aleighs's mom's voice said at the other line of the telephone, concern overwhelming it. You can't really blame her for being concerned either; it's not everyday that your daughter calls you in the middle of a school day..

  • Aleigh has decided to tell Alex not to worry about it before they entered. She bit her lip, “Mom? Uh.. can you come get me..? We had a lockdown earlier. With the events of yesterday, I freaked out. Somewhere in the middle of that, I tore my stitches. My bandage was soaked in blood. The nurse has it patched enough that it won’t bleed on the bandages.. but I need to get my stitches repaired.” She spoke quietly. She kept glanced at Bryan’s feet, but also to Alex.

  • "Okay, I'll be there in a few minutes." She said before hanging up. Bryan had leaned on the counter with his arms crossed, glancing around the room and at Aleigh and Alex. "Aleigh, is there anything else you need me to do?" A familiar voice said, but even though it's more likely to come out of Bryan's mouth, it came out of Alex's. He had stood by the seat she's on with his hands in his pocket. "Same here Aleigh." Bryan said, nodding in agreement even though Alex couldn't see him.

  • Aleigh put her phone back into her pocket. She looked to Alex first, “There’s a blanket in my backpack.. if you could hand me that, It’d be most appreciated..” She shrugged. She looked at Bryan. “I’m just a Little cold is all...”

  • Without thinking twice, Bryan went and grabbed the blanket, he had materialized too without realizing it. "Here." He said before his gaze flickered to Alex and he realized what he just did, and he can't just turn to a ghost again now, Alex hadn't asked any questions and was just looking at Bryan with the same unreadable expression as before. Bryan and him locked gazes for the next moments before Alex broke the tension. "Who are you and when did you come in?" He asked, not turning around, flinching or even blinking. "I was just coming by to grab something when I heard that she needed it, so I didn't think it'll hurt to help." Bryan replied nonchalantly, leaning on the counters that were around the room again. "So, what happened to you?" He asked Aleigh, acting as if he doesn't know what's happening.

  • Aleigh tensed, turning to Bryan. “Bryan what the heck?! When did you..?!” she tensed. She hadn’t expected him to materialize. “the hell is he doing?! God! He’s gonna get himself caught..!” She thought. She hesitantly took the blanket, wrapping it around herself. She was noticably pale too. She’d lost a fair amount of blood from her stitches ripping. She watched Alex and Bryan for a moment, before turning to Bryan. “I got attacked by something, I don’t really know what it was, yesterday. I had to get stitches at the hospital. And then today, with the lockdown and everything, I kinda panicked.. well you saw that in first period. Somewhere in the middle of my panicking I ripped my stitches. Thank you for getting my blanket, Bryan.” she turned to Alex after a moment. “this is Bryan, he’s in my first class.”

  • Alex and Bryan nodded at each other in greeting. "Well, I hope you get better soon." Bryan said with a soft smile, he was obviously still tense from the fatal mistake he did, and was more than glad when the nurse entered the room again. "Aleigh, your mother's here. You can go to her in the reception now." She said calmly as she glanced at both Alex and Bryan. "You boys better get back to your classes." She said and waved her hand at both of them. Bryan reached for Aleigh's bag and put it iver his shoulder. "I'll help her get her stuff to the car." He said, and Alex just nodded and was about to go out of the door and back to his class before he paused midway and turned back to face Aleigh. "Just be careful, Aleigh." He said before waving and going away.

  • Aleigh looked to Bryan. “thank you, Bryan.” she smiled. She snuggled her blanket close, then looked up as the nurse entered. She gave a soft nod, before standing up slowly. She was about to grab her things but Bryan beat her. She blushed faintly, “I could’ve gotten it. Thank you, though.” she watched Alex head towards the door before he turned to face her. She raised an eyebrow for a moment, before nodding. “of course, Alex. Thank you. I’ll see you tomorrow..”

  • They walked in silence until they reached the reception and saw Aleigh's mom, she was passing around worriedly and had speed-walked to Aleigh in her heels and hugged her tightly. She works as a Lawyer which doesn't allow her to spend much time at home which explains why she's mostly out, and she had stopped in the middle to come and pick Aleigh up now. Her eyes soon landed on Bryan, who was still in his normal form and was holding Aleigh's stuff. "Thank you for helping my daughter." She said without making an effort to know his name as she grabbed the stuff from him. Bryan nodded in acknowledgement of he gratitude and acted as if he walked back to the classes before he turned back to his ghost figure and stood again beside Aleigh. "Sorry for that last move, I had to get any excuse to why I went with you in front of Alex." He whisperwd to her even though nobody could hear him other than her. "The car's right outside, which is good and it will save us time as we get to the hospital to path you up." She said as she walked out of the doors and towards the cars.

  • Aleigh felt bad. She hated pulling her mother from Work, especially when she knew she had a lot of work to do. Aleigh hugged her mom back for a long moment, before pulling back. She wanted to be so much closer to her mom. With her father no longer in the picture, she was all she had left and just wanted to see her more. She looked back to Bryan. “yes, thank you Bryan. I appreciate the help.” she waved at him as he walked out the door. She looked to her mom. “that was the boy who saved me yesterday.. anyway mom, lets go. I know you have to get back to work. I’m really sorry for calling you..” she glanced to Bryan for a moment, shrugging her shoulders. She walked with her mom to the car. She got in the passengers seat, glancing back in the mirror. “Bryan I need to talk to mom in private.. meet me at the hospital.” she mumbled before her mom got in the car. “mom can I talk to you..?” she said after a moment.
