  • hey! so i was thinking about joining a traditional clan. i've never joined one before so-

do i have to do something specific to join a traditional clan? such as contact the leader?

is there a way to join a clan "correctly"?

    can i only join one?

also, may i ask for recommendations on which one to join?

  • If it's a boarded clan (like the main traditional clans; Thunderclan, Skyclan, Shadowclan etc.) then you can either put up a joining thread and hope for the best or an introduction thread (so basically your character has always been there) that you can just automatically join in with no issues. Of course though, you could always just jump into regular roleplay without any threads at all if you're interacting with a boarded clan.

If it's a clan that doesn't have a board though, it would be recommended to either find the signup thread to the clan or to contact the current user who plays the leader so you can get their approval on your character.

Personally I recommend Shadowclan, but that may be a bit bias as I currently roleplay there myself.

Also you can join as many traditional clans as you want (with different characters of course).

  • all the traditional clans are very open and accepting! you may (as ellie stated) make a joining thread, or pretend your character has been there all along! you are more than welcome to be part of multiple traditonal clans, but one character can only have one clan, just like in the books. there's no correct or incorrect way to join a clan; it's all a matter of preference! c:

as far as recommendations go, my absolute favorite traditional clans are shadowclan and thunderclan. shadowclan is a little slower at the moment, but friendly and home to a large variety of characters who will make roleplaying tons of fun! thunderclan is much more active, though still easy to keep up with and extremely welcoming. <3

if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

  • dittoing amy and ellie on the first two questions: there's no "right" or "wrong" way of going about joining a clan. most people have their characters show up at the border in a joining thread, adopt from an open litter in a group of their choice, or pretend their character has been there all along! no need to do anything specific or contact anyone :-) despite a leader bias, i'd definitely recommend riverclan and bloodclan! riverclan is a fantastically diverse group with really interesting characters and a great, welcoming OOC community. bloodclan, as the main villains of the board, always have something new going on + have a great array of characters and really friendly users!

i'm so glad u took interest in the trad. boards and i hope to see you around!!

  • thank you all! i know i asked a bunch of questions already, and i think i already seen this answered on another thread (although i can't find it anymore), i just want to make sure i have all of the facts! so, if you don't mind me asking:

are other animals besides cats allowed? and what about mystical animals? such as kitsunes, etc.?

thank you all for your time!

  • Dittoing Copper and adding that in the traditional game we try to keep it strictly aligned with the world of Warriors. A good thing to remember when it comes to trad. game is, if it wasn't in the Warriors books then it won't be allowed. c:

  • With the exception of the occurrence of some oddities, for example a badger wouldn't be allowed despite Midnight having existed and thrived in the book series. The characters are restricted to all shapes and forms of domestic cats including pure breds but exlcuding hybrids (savannahs, caracats, chauncies, etc.). I hope this helped and if you have any questions feel free to ask away! ♥
