  • Orchid took a deep breath. No point in lying. He was a kid, but fuck, she'd be pissed as an eleven year old if someone lied to her about something this big. "There's a dead body. Real rotted down, definitely not alive any longer. Hasn't been alive for a long time, I don't think." She shrugged, trying to be nonchalant. It wasn't like her to freak out at danger, at least not immediately. She bit her lower lip, brow furrowed, and looked outside again. Still, no one was around. She wondered if they were the only organic material in the city that wasn't dead bodies.

    But, no, no, she could've sworn she'd heard people, other people. There had to be more than just them. She looked around, then out the window. There were other stores. Restaurants, clothing stores, a sports equipment shop... and they all looked empty. She turned to the kid. "So, Atticus. You don't recognize anything, right?" She hoped he did. It would be much easier to navigate this place if she was with someone who understood it.

    ---

    Lin followed the two inside, and decided to go into the kitchen to check something. He entered, and turned the water faucet on. It ran. There was water and electricity. Maybe there was food in the fridge? Or in the pantry? He checked the fridge, but most of the things in there, besides some ketchup and some pickles, was really gross. Especially the milk. He shut that, and then checked some cabinets. He found some generic corn pops cereal, unopened. Poor guy missed out on his cereal. That would work. He also found a couple cans of soup, and cup ramen. All good things. Food and water was available.

    He found a backpack by the door, and stuffed the goods in there. Just in case. He then turned to the other two. "I grabbed some unspoiled food. We should probably head out, right? Get somewhere high, see if we can see anything significant. Like, destroyed buildings." Maybe this was some sort of terror attack, and the city evacuated. Maybe the city was in a time bubble. As more thoughts came to his head, the idea to see what may have been a cause of death occurred to him. If he found a hospital, or some sort of lab, he could try to dissect a body. Which would be, admittedly, gross and terrible, but he'd seen a human brain before. The problem was these guys were rotting. Maybe if he found a hazmat suit.

  • IM BACK <3 I'm so sorry for the Hiatis guys, I just lost motivation and muse for a while.

    Karolina Edwards || Female || 21

    Karolina nodded, She looked over at the men - although she was skeptical of them, they hadn't done anything odd and it certainly appeared that they were as clueless as she was. She gazed at Kota, a vague hint of amusement crossed her mind. "Monsieur, It seems you have forgotten to grab some shoes. You could lose a foot walking around in the snow with bare feet." She mused "There are some shoes just by the door, i saw them on my way out." She added, knowing he would not be so eager to re-enter the apartment. She rubbed her arms, which stung as the cold seeped through the jacket she was wearing. Turning to Lin she stated "I don't care were we go, as long as there are no bodies and its warm." She sighed, shivering at the memory of the apartment they had just seen.

    Lin and Kota ( siloueta   Undecided )

    Callum O'Donahue || Male || 42

    Callum nodded "I agree about finding shelter, but i'd be wary of anyone out here. You just can't tell who they are." He explained in his strong Irish drawl. "Best of luck to you lass" He chided, and began to trudge away. The cold bit at his arms, his feet were numb but despite everything seemingly going wrong for him he couldn't deny the feeling of hope that he was given a second chance. Although still depressed he could see now that suicide was the cowards way out. He needed to be there for his daughter. As he walked away there was the slow orange haze beyond the fog that hinted to an approaching dawn. The snow failed to let up.

    May ( lilpupin )

  • At the lady's words, Kota blushed and quietly stuttered out a quiet apology and a small word of gratitude before following her advice and stepping inside of the apartment once more. He made sure to cover his mouth with the collar of the sweater as he took the first pair of shoes that he saw, a pair of tennis shoes. Returning to the other two people, Kota hurriedly slipped on and tied the shoes. They were a little bit loose, but they fit well enough.

    Ignoring the sudden pang of hunger from his stomach at the mention of food, Kota voiced his agreement with Lin in a shaky tone."B-being up h-high would be best."

    OOC: Low muse, just got some work done.

    May sighed, believing the man to be a fool to not try to warm up. It was kind of him to let her have his jacket, but he needed to be warm as well. "Good luck to you as well," she called to his leave. She looked about, wondering what she should do herself. But a sudden memory of something she had been told struck her. Someone wanted to kill her. She looked about worridely, but quickly shook off the weariness that followed. Wherever they were, it was no where near where she was before. Her eyes caught on some people rushing in and out of a building. Two boys and a girl. She made her way over to them slowly. She looked to the boy who had rushed out of the building, he was putting on shoes. The smell of death hit her hard, but it barely phased her. She had been around dead animals before, the animals in the forest had to hunt to live and she had been next to the carcasses many times more than once. "Hello there," she started. "Might any of you have any idea what in the world is going on?" She motioned the the man she had been talking with, "because he sure didn't"

  • ooc: lol lin's a dude if ur talkin bout him

    ic: Lin nodded to himself when he noted that all of them had successfully put on warmer clothes. He'd do that too, but he had superstitions about stealing anything from the dead. He pushed his hair away from his face, noticing it was starting to get damp with snowflakes. He tried to think of where he could figure out the name of this city, at least. It would give him a lead as to how to get around, or at least as to how cold they would expect it to get. He glanced around, and noticed-- the sun was rising. That meant that it had to be way early in the morning. Still, there still should be cars on the road. He was about to mention it when he heard another voice, and glanced behind him. Another person. The plot thickens.

    "Hi, there, I don't think any of us know what's going on." He said it in an apologetic way, feeling bad that he couldn't provide any answer to the confusion. He glanced behind her, and noticed the man walking away. Wait, no, that's not right. They should really stick together, or else they could get hurt. It was clear there was something dangerous around here, based on the fact that there were dead bodies around. He started towards the man, who was walking away. "HEY!" he shouted to Callum, "Wait! Don't leave!" He looked concerned. "We have to stick together, I don't think there are many living people here, and he doesn't look like a native to this city, either."

  • (Oh oops, I did. :P I fixed it.)

    May-female-twenty two

    May shook her head, "that's too bad. And good luck with him. I don't take him as one to want to hang around with any one else all that much." She decided it best not to mention that he felt no one should be trusted. But nonetheless she watched him, hoping he would come over. Like the stranger said, it was safer together. As an added bonus, these people seemed to have gotten clothes from some where, she felt a bit bad for taking his coat.

    Columbina

    She looked for Jiro. "Hey, are you coming? Or do you want to freeze to death?" She smiled, walking into the empty apartment. "What are the odds there's heating here?" She muttered, shivering. She looked at the walls. Bare. No signs any humans had lived here.
