  • Winter had been in a boat for days, drifting aimlessly along the currents. She was starving. The snow leopard had not eaten ever since she started this crazy trip, and was beginning to think that there were no groups that took anybody in as long as they were peaceful. So when she saw the island covered with snow and with black sand, Winter did her best to paddle with her paws to get there.

    When her boat hit the beach, she was out in a flash. Stretching, she called, "Is anybody here?"

    //Sorry for the lousy post, I'm doing this in-between assignments.

  • rounded ears heard a voice. it was a voice she did not recognize, and no familiar scent reached her. the smilodon paused, stiffening. cautiously, the large feline padded forward to the edge of the cliff, looking down at the dark sand with narrowed blue eyes. a stranger stood near the water, a raggedy boat behind them. who are you? the queen would call, leaping down the short distance and padding warily forward.

  • The snow leopard looked up and saw a cat that she had only heard in stories. "I'm Winter. Can you tell me were I am exactly?" Winter asked. The place had mountains and snow, like her own home, and the cold didn't bother her much thanks to her fur.

  • the creamy feline ran her tongue over her patruding teeth as she eyed the snow leopard. their fur would be ideal for adapting to a territory like this. you are on the black isle’s territory. luciddreams would state, her eyes narrowing. why are you here? the sabre toothed cat inquired, tilting her chin into the air and narrowing her pale eyes.

  • "I was driven out of my previous home by others who wanted my territory. Found a boat and just set off." Winter said. Her stomach growled. "Kind of forgot to bring food." She added. She really had no ties left to her old territory. Her parents were dead, siblings left for their own territories a while back, and just too much competition for her to defend her territory against.

  • lucid listened intently, gaze softening with understanding. she knew what it was like to feel like you belonged no where. to feel like your life has no meaning, no point, no reason. well... the queen began. your welcome to stay here, get some food in your stomach, rest up a bit. the smilodon offered with a cautious smile, dipping her head to the smaller female.

  • "Thank you." Honestly, the snow leopard was afraid she'd be turned away. She didn't know how much longer she would have survived in that boat. "Is there anyplace I could stay, possibly?" If the answer was no, Winter could probably turn the boat into a makeshift shelter.

  • Not wanting to interrupt since Lucid seemed to be handling it just fine, the ferret scrambled over by the smilodon before turning a curious gaze toward the snow leopard. And to think that at one time she thought the smaller felines were bigger than her. "Hello!" She said, shaking black sand from her forepaws and tilting her head. "What's your name? Sorry if you already said it before, but would you mind repeating it if you did? My name's Xylia." Had Lucid introduced herself? Did the snow leopard want a tour? She honestly couldn't remember the last time she felt this relaxed, and she couldn't have felt more excited because of that feeling.

  • "My name's Winter." she told the ferret, who introduced herself as Xylia. The snow leopard was still amazed by the island.

    //Low muse

  • lucid dipped her head to xylia as they arrived, offering a smirk at the others appearance. the body still amused the much larger smilodon with its teenie paws and cute little face... we make our home in a castle on the other side of the island. you’re welcome to stay there or in one of the empty houses within the village. the pirate queen would inform, returning her attention to winter.

  • "Thank you." Winter was grateful. Most people wouldn't give a damn where she slept. The snow leopard began to make her way to the said castle, leaving pawprints in the snow. She could get used to living here. Winter loved snow, and the whole island kind of seemed like a playground at the moment. Her blue eyes took everything in, memorizing every single detail.

    • Bolting in the opposite direction Winter was going was Wei, running off from the castle grounds to do a bit of exploring. Climbing, discovering new areas, possibly finding the kinds of treasures and monsters they spoke of in fairy tales- that was what she aimed to find. Instead, she nearly crashed straight into Winter, skidding to a sudden stop a few steps away from the snow leopard with a soft exclamation of surprise. "Ah-! ... hello?" Well, that was a bit embarrassing. Coughing lightly and straightening up her posture, she spoke up a bit more, head ducking down and shoulders hunching slightly despite her efforts. "Whoops... uhm, I haven't seen you around before. Are you new?" She was simply saying the first question that came to mind to act as a little distraction from her blundering, curiosity swimming in her gaze as she looked up at the larger feline. She looked like the kind of creature that would already be living here, not a joiner from afar, but she had already blurted out her query, not knowing that she was actually correct. Oh, well.

  • "Yep." The snow leopard gestured to the old boat she had been in. Winter had no idea how it managed to survive all this time. "Arrived today, actually. I'm Winter." She mewed to the domestic feline.
