Minnie took the hit pretty hard. Staggering back and landing tail first. She took a moment to catch herself. "Earth Power!" Dylan called out, actually getting irritated with Raine and his sneaky moves. Once back to her feet, Minnie drew the rocks up from the ground.

Pip, in - turn, also takes the move hard. The Pokemon loses his footing, crying out as he tumbles into the rocks. Once he can recover enough, he staggers to use the raised rocks as posts to jump to and fro. ❛ grass knot! ❜The move would at least topple the larger Nidoqueen over, even if just for a moment to allow the Pikachu to regain his strength. Though the move wasn't strong against her typing, her weight worked to her disadvantage. ❛ hold - hold out, pip! we can win 'dis! ❜
-
That one Grass Knot finally took Minnie down. Dylan thanked his Pokemon as he called back after fainting. He pulled out the Pokeball containing Jake, his Lycanroc. "Go get him!" The orange Pokemon appeared in the ring. Glancing back and given a casual nod to the boy. Awaiting his next orders.
"Accelerock!" A signature move could do the trick. Jake dashed towards the opposing Pikachu at an impressive speed.
-
The Pikachu was far too exhausted to even have a chance at dodging the move. When he takes the damage from it, Pip wobbles on his feet before thumping to the ground in a fit of dust. Raine rushes forward, frantically picking up his fainted Pokemon much like a parent does their own child. He craddles the Pikachu close to his chest, visibly flinching at the crowds exuberant screams of cheater and constant booing. The man stumbles back up, wishing to just rush off in embarrassment, but whatever remains of his ego doesn't allow it. ❛ fuck you! ❜He actually sobs, eyes watery in either anger or sadness. ❛ you've got everythin'! I hate this! I hate you, and all the fuckin' champions! ❜He knew Dylan was only a kid with a larger than life responsibility, but he couldn't help the spat words. ❛ le's... le's go again! I - ❜
-
Dylan said nothing. He just stood, face falling. He started hating...Hating himself. For being angry at the man crying before him. Seconds passed before the blonde boy turned and ran off. With the Lycanroc following suite. Like any good Pokemon partner, he worried about his Trainer. Plus, Dylan had the tendency to get into trouble when left alone.
(It's here Dylan either spots/communicates with Raikou or is approached by another competitor)
-
Raine wonders for a moment if he should turn and run away on his own. Even with tear stained cheeks and a fainted Pokemon, this wasn't over. ❛ huh - hey! y - ya' brat! get back here! ❜ The man screeches after his competitor, feet kicking up the battlefield's dirt as he craddles Pip close and races behind the kid and his Lycanroc. Though, their progress is interrupted by a sudden creature managing to leap in the gap between them all. With an ear piercing roar, Raine falls back to his arse in terror. His father had once met this monstrous creature, worked closely with it. He knew it by name, the Pokemon sacred to the region close to his own. ❛ raikou! ❜
The legendary dog himself shakes its rather large head, eyes shifting between both Dylan and the Team Rocket member. Though words are of course not spoken by the Pokemon, it once again bellows a thunderous cry. Though the creature's screeched roar may cause most to simply cover their ears to avoid bleeding, it appears he almost... wishes to communicate with the pair. Raine knew from legend that this creature was a sly one, never approaching humans unless seemingly desperate. ❛ 'yer da' champion! deal wid' duh - dis'! ❜
-
Raikou?!
Jake stood in front of Dylan, still as a statue but not preparing to attack. He must've been smart enough to know not to engage random Legendaries in battle. Dylan...Not so much. He moved past his Pokemon to calmly and carefully approach the Thunder Dog. Maybe hoping to see what he wanted. The boy was even visibly shaking.
-
Raikou once again jerks his head about angrily, baring his teeth threateningly at the boy and his Lycanroc. He didn't wish to attack, that much was obvious in his composure, but he still stood rigidly. His heavy gaze looks between Raine and Dylan as he had moments before, now suddenly wild. Though Raine was the electric - type master in the vicinity, even he didn't know what to do in a situation such as this. He simply holds the fainted Pip in his arms, staying where he was on the ground. No need to make the legendary dog even angrier, yeah? ❛ ya' - ya' think he's afraid of somethin'? ❜
It almost sounded like a joke, with a creature like Raikou. Yet... it nearly made sense. Why else would he be here in Orre? If a legendary sensed danger, they generally went to it.
-
In Dylan's honest opinion? "If he's scared, we're all in trouble." Only something really big could scare a Pokemon like Raikou. And now, approaching him seemed like an even worse idea. So, the tall boy stopped in his tracks. Still unsure of how to handle or properly communicate with the legendary dog.
"...Look, Lord Raikou...Why are you here? W-What's going on?"
-
Perhaps if the situation had not been rather dire, Raine would have laughed at the kid's stupid sounding words. Instead, his hazy sight follows the legendary. Raikou didn't seem much too happy with them; or perhaps he was reading into it wrong. Much to the man's displeasure, he once again offers them an ear splitting roar. His paws scrape viciously at the Orreian dirt, as if he was attempting to make a statment to the two humans before him. Raine's hand touches gingerly at his trickling ear. Great.
❛ ow!❜ Raine mumbles in pain, blinking sporadically. ❛ listen! raikou came out of hidin' once to deal with... team rocket. 'dat's gotta' mean somethin' is goin' on here, right? my ol' man met 'im once, to help kanto. I... ❜ He spares a glance to the dog - like Pokemon, and watched its sudden hopping path. As the legends stated, it was here and gone. Yeah, now all they needed was an ominous Absol, right? ❛ fuckin' - help me up, over here! we gotta' - get outta' here or something' - ❜
-
Dylan rushed to help lift Raine off the ground. Grabbing the shorter man and pulling him up onto his feet. He listened carefully while the Rocket grunt gave him some possibly useful information about what they just saw. "Your Dad said Raikou helped him. Doesn't that mean he's here to help us? With...Whatever's gonna happen?" the blonde asked. That was his interpretation of things.
And it was probably wrong, with Jake's anxious expressions and noises were anything to go by.
-
❛ I mean - it'd make sense, ruh - right? ❜ Raine rambles in return, free hand rubbing the back of his head in confusion with the situation. He glances down to Pip with a frown, before his gaze jerks just over his shoulder. Raikou... Clearly, neither of them knew what to do now. ❛ I dunno', I ain't the brightest with shite like dis'. problem solvin' and all. we... we could talk to my pops. that - that would help us, right? 'e knows raikou, or somethin'. ❜ At the least, it may shed some light on the pair's little incident.
-
That sounded like an awesome plan. Better than anything Dylan could think of. But...One thing: "First, we gotta heal up our Pokemon. They...They took a beating." He couldn't let Minnie go without a well-deserved trip to the Pokemon Center. And...And he felt horrible about the Pikachu of Raine's.
-
❛ tch. yeah. here - ❜ the grunt turns away for a moment, before tossing the champion a max revive he'd retrieved from somewhere inside his bag. raine has his own, already held under the pikachu's now twitching nose. once the pokemon decides to peel open his eyes, its trainer tosses the quickly useless revive somewhere behind himself.❛ yeesh - ya' alright, pip? ❜ while waiting for dylan to take care of minnie, his partner clambers back to his rightful perch on the man's shoulder. ❛ ah... think i gotta' warn ya'. my pops... he's quite da' hardass.❜
