    He made a mental note of it. Kano awkwardly shuffled forward as people left. He said the only thing that came to mind.


    "So, how are you liking this new... life?" His voice sort of trailed off at the end as he realized how stupid of a question it was. No one liked it and certainly no one picked it. That was for sure. He winced slightly before opening his mouth again to take back his statement. However, curiosity got the best of the boy and he shut his mouth, awaiting an answer from the new ruler.

    Juliette stilled at his question as she narrowed her eyes. "What sort of question is that?" She asked rhetorically, giving out a pained chuckle. "I'm just having the time of my life. Nothing like having something slowly rob you of everything." Juliette spoke in a low tone for only his ears to hear. Her life was taken and although she should be happy to be alive, she isn't finding any joy from constantly fighting the mouths and being bugged by a demon. How could she?! Just a few weeks ago she had everything she wanted! She had a family, friends, and a dream! Oh stop with the dramatic works, you'll learn to deal with it. You're stuck with us even if you don't like. Juliette snapped her hand towards the entity, but her arm just fazed through it. To others it would seem that she has her arm held out, but her intentions were to kill the demon. He released a laugh, This is what I'm talking about! Yes! You should release that emotion that you have. Let it consume you and just give in. Look how much you want to kill me.

    Kano unintentionally narrowed his eyes and stepped up toward the cashier as she threw her arm out. He knew something was happening, so he quickly ordered. Luckily, this was an easy order and it took no time at all for the employees to give them their order. Silently, he began to move to the outside of the little, sweet cafe, holding the coffee and napkin wrapped muffin close to him as to not get spilled if someone wre to bump into him. The soldier glanced behind him, making sure Juliette was fine. No one seemed suspicious, although he spotted the red haired woman in the back of the cafe, glancing at them. A frown came upon his face. Since when did she enter? The boy shrugged it off once he got outside. There were a lot of moving. Its perfectly normal if he missed a person or two. Still...


    "Here." Kano held Juliettes order out, facing her, although she waasnt in arms reach quite yet.

    "Don't you dare..." Juliette hissed lowly at the demon, as she quickly stepped outside. She felt a slight pressure in her eyes, but the anger that was in her made her forget about it as she focused on glaring at the entity. "Make yourself disappear." And the queen commands. He chuckles doing as she said. The irises of her eyes turned into a red hue as the white of her eyes threatened to turn into a black color. The mouths slowly starting to coax her into falling in, but Kano had snapped her out of her inner battle. Exposing her eyes to him she looked down at his hand forgetting that she had ordered something. She tried to control her breathing as her eyes flickered between colors as Juliette struggled to control her emotions. With a shaky hand she grabbed her muffin and coffee and quickly sat on the table.

    Something was very wrong. Juliette didnt seem like herself again. Kano straightened out and stood by her side. Carefully, he placed his hand on her shoulder and bent down slightly. His lowered voice luckily drew no attention to them. A small smile was placed on his face, attempting to make him less suspicious.


    "Are you in control, Ms. Juliette? You can always leave if you need to." The male offered,pulling away from her. The answer didnt really need an audible answer,lucky for her. It was obvious that his smile ws fake as he rounded the table, about to pull out the chair.

    Juliette closed her eyes when she felt his hand on her slightly shaking shoulder. Focusing on his words she breathed out a sigh as she carefully leaned forward with her head hung low. Leaving sounded nice, but she's been locked in for too long, being out felt nice. However... they've been outside for too long someone will be bound to recognize them and she didn't want to draw anymore attention. "Let me finish my coffee and than we'll leave. Don't want to carry to much" Her voice was back to it's neutral tone as before and kept her head down as she took a sip.

    The chair was pulled out and the boy sat down. That seemed like fair. Of course, they could just wander around the forest if she ever wanted to get out instead of being around people. However, the words didnt leave his mouth. As stress inducing it was to be here, it was also very nice. It was different from the normal environment he was typically in. There was suddenly something very wrong. Not the type of wrong of Juliette turning but something else.His eyes narrowed and he searched the streets. No one seemed sketchy. Kano stood abruptly.


    "Ms. Juliette, we need to leave now." A red flash came from the corner of his eye before the entire world turned grey. There was no color in the world except for the three that werent frozen. The red haired woman, now with dark and malious eyes stood with her clawed hands grasped around Juliettes arm. Immediately, a weapon slid in Kanos hand. He had more power in this type of world. However, the woman held upher hand.


    "Oh dont worry. I just want to talk." Her eyes flicked to the girl. "Of course Ill kill the new Queen if you try anything funny." The demon started to change form into something hideous. A red swirling shadow that had random spots of black, including a void for the eyes and mouth. These used to terrify Kano as a child. Not anymore. It was obviously powerful, but he doubted not as powerful as Juliette... when she was fully awakened. Right now? Perhaps she could kill them if she really wanted. His job was to protect her and heck, he had done a pretty poor job of it so far.


    "What do you want to talk about?" Kano voice was dangerously low. His voice was full of venom.


    "I want to be the new ruler. The only way at this point is to kill her or she just peacefully passes it down to me." The figure raised a claw to Juliettes throat. In a sickly sweet voice she continued, "and its all your choice on what happens."

    The mouths screamed louder as time froze. She was shaken away from her daze as she felt pressure on her arms and her eyes turned back to the red and black hue. Juliette didn't have full view of what was holding her back, but through the sides of her face she could tell it wasn't a pretty sight. "Kano..." Juliette spoke in a much deeper and raspy voice, "Why aren't you doing your job?" She stepped forward causing for the monsters claws to knick at her neck. "Kill her." Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Due to the stress of the day, both the mouths and her grew furious at someone questioning her authority. Someone was challenging them and they would be happy to kill. A low chuckle erupted from her lips. Oh, this is interesting. It didn't take long before someone else showed up to take the title. The demon watched Juliette slowly start to lose it. "That's an order"

    Kano let out a growl. The weapon fully formed, a sort of outward pointing kukrui appeared in his hands. In an instant, he was reaching out to catch the figures neck, but caught its arm. The angle of the blade made sure it caught it. It hissed in pain but it couldnt reheal at this moment in time. The blade went up in glowing blue lights and turned into a scythe sort of things. The blonde made sure that he was between the two, making sure that it couldnt get past. Somethign seemed to distract it for a moment in time. Kano swung the blade toward the figure.

    ~You're homeschooled? I have a friend who is also homeschooled.


    Juliette straightened up her figure and allowed for the hood to slide off. Her purple hair flowed as if wind was blowing through it as she turned herself around to face the pair. "There will only be one queen..." It was the mouths talking, but it sounded exactly like Juliette. "One true queen. That not you." Her body walked forward to face the creature halting Kano from completely killing it. Taking in her appearance she scowled," Filthy." Pulling back the mouths gave Juliette back control as she pulled her hood back up, she didn't want others to come after her so she gave the order. "Finish it." Turning her back not wanting to see it happen, she looked down at the ground to notice her muffin on the ground. "My muffin..."

    //Oh really? Thats cool. Ive been homeschooled before but I mostly just went to public schools.

    Juliette went from "Im super awesome" to being sad about her muffin. lol



    The red demon scowled, holding its arms. Even though there was nothing there, Kano could still tell that it was starting to regret its decision. It stumbled back a little, the black smoke pouring out of its wound. While it was distracted, Kano focused on becoming nothing. It worked in a matter of seconds. The tg of his powers was starting to take affect. She went back mumbling something about a muffin. He didnt hear as he hurriedy moved forward, using the power to mask his presence. Soon he was behind the searching firgure and the death for it was quick. He knew that others wouldnt be so nice. With a gurgling screech it vanished into another layer of reality. Hopefully, it would have learned its lesson. The dust collected at his feet. With a sigh, he slowly let the guard down. Welp, it seemed like he needed to get soemthing easier as a job since he clearly wasnt good enough for this one. Kano bowed facing Juliette.


    "Im sorry about this, Ms. Juliette."

    ~One good thing about being homeschooled is that my friend will graduate early. Probably by the end of Dec. Juliette is still coping, so a little humor to lighten what will happen soon will be best.

    The little bubble that surrounded them disappeared and the world around them kept on going as if nothing was a miss. All except her muffin. With a sigh she pulls her hood back up and eats a chocolate. "It's fine. Sort of expected something like that to happen. " Inside, Juliette was breaking and struggled to not cause a scene in front of everyone. Today was too much. She was so afraid of the creature, but what scared her the most was that she didn't actually want to die when the opportunity showed itself. She'd been close to dying and the mouths had almost taken control again. Too much for today. Her throat burned as she remembered that she had earned herself a cut. A little bit of blood oozed from it.     "Let's head back... Been out in the open for too long."

    Kano nodded in agreement, glancing around the grey land. Everyone was still frozen. She stated that they needed to go back and he agreed. This was too much for today. He grabbed the bag before coming closer to the Queen. The male willed himself and the purplehaired female to recede from peoples vision. Quite honestly, he was tired and he was lucky that he could still hold it up. Though it wasnt very strong, it would bee enough. Color started to leak back into the world and people began to move again as if nothing happened. A few confused people kept glancing over as three people just disappeared without a trace, but it was not enough to actually cause anyone much worry. After everything had gone back to what it was before, the red eyed boy waited for Juliette to make the move to go.

    Juliette walked down the road and made sure to avoid the photographer as she hurried to reach the hidden house. Hopefully the hidden house had finally been aired out and the smell of corpse wasn't present anymore. "I need a nap..." She muttered as she popped another piece of chocolate into her mouth. The trees came into view meaning they weren't that far off from the house. "Do you think what we sensed from earlier in the forest was the one that showed up?" Juliette asked Kano as she kept walking, munching on her sweets every once in a while.

    Kano stayed close. He would honestly be better as a scout than a fighter. Its been so long since hes trained. Too long. It was obvious. The boy mulled over the question for a moment when it came up.


    "It is a possibility." Came the simple reply. There was also a possibility that there were two different demons. A definitely a problem that they were already showing up. Well, word traveled quickly in the underworld. Who knows? Maybe the entire world knew already. Hopefully most would just accept the new change and move on. Hopefully, there were not a lot of demons who were angry enough to try and kill them. One could always hope.

    Juliette hums at his reply. He really needed to work on answering better. Once they entered the forest, she dropped her hood and fixed her hair so it wouldn't stand up right.


    You know I've been thinking. Th demon interrupted. Why don't we visit home? It would be great to leave this dreadful place for a few days.


    "Home? I can't go back. I'm dead to everyone or did you forget?" She scoffed at his comment.


    That's not home you fool. I meant where I come from. The one place that everyone is just dying to visit. Juliette froze and she just wished she could wrap her hands around him and just...


    "That's not home, and it never will be!" The demon however paid no mind to her. You need it. You need to get away for a while and if you haven't noticed your servant has been lacking. If I were still around I would of killed him for his poor behavior.


    "Good thing I'm not you, so I won't kill him." He just rolled his eyes, Pity. Anyways, you both need to get your energy and the only way to do that is to head back to the underworld. The place where my energy is from.

    //Uhoh.

    I feel like this is a good time to apologize for not playing the character right? I know Ive never played a quiet character or have written fight scenes but cmon.



    The words that left her mouth sparked some dread in him. The demon was trying to convince her to kill him. Well now. That was some very nice information. However, he kept his mouth shut. And something about the way that she answered him came off as irritated. That worried him too as it could easily influence her decision about killing him. The blonde did realize how he kept messing up though and actually wouldnt be surprised if she did. The bag was being twirled in his hands again. After a small throat clear, Kano tried to strike up some conversation.


    "So.. did you like going out for today? It may have been stressful but a nice change of scenery would have made up for it, right?"
