  • //Same!~ Over here it gets to the 100's so a good day for us, if we are lucky, is in the 70's.~The struggle of living in the desert~

Juliette controlled her breathing to calm her nerves. She looked through the aisles watching for anything that caught her attention. A bag of candy drew her towards it and picked it up to look over the various of chocolates. One of the things that haven't changed about her is her sweet tooth. Like any normal teen she kept on looking around with the bag in her hand. 'Do I get something else?' She sensed Kano coming towards her so she stopped walking for him to catch up. "Got everything that we came for?" She asks looking over at him.

  • //Ah man. I remember 120 degree weather. I used to live in El Paso, Texas (military base). It sucked during the summer!

Kano turned to the other aisle. Juliette had a bag of chocolates in her hand. The blonde couldnt help but raise an eyebrow and offer a small smile. Oh? So she liked chocolates. The soldier made a mental note of that.

"Yes, I got everything. Did you?" The male asked, motioning toward the counter, silently asking her if she was ready to pay or not. He still hoped that they could go get some coffee. With the new stress of watching over a new ruler, he could really use some.

  • // Southern part of Arizona is where it gets into the 100's. We've gotten used to it, but it sucks that it gets so hot.

Juliette nods her head at his question. "Yeah I got what I wanted." She looked at what he had and was on the counter," That should be everything..." The purple haired teen heard laughter and slightly moved her head to see a group of teens enter the store goofing around. Her heart clenched as she thought of her friends that she left behind. Feeling nostalgic she turned her attention back towards the counter and gulped. "After this... Let's look around for a bit..." She said softly in a way that made it obvious that she had returned to her numbed state. Adjusting her hood forward she allowed for Kano to pay.

  • Kano payed and grbbed the bag before stepping out into the nice air as quickly as he could. He was quiet happy that she was willing to look around, although it quite honestly sounded like she didnt honestly want to. Still, she said it was okay so he would taker her word for it. The windd still carried traces of the coffee, but much less now. That was slightly disappointing. The blonde faced further into the town, holding the bag of stuff at his side.

"Where would you like to go?"

  • There were two paths they could take. North or South. Usually when you are lost you head towards North or follow the Northern star to safety. However North held more people and was also the direction the enthusiastic lady was in. South held less people, but didn't seem to offer much stores like the drug store and it was more of small shops. North? South? Risk anxiety or risk of boredom? People or no people? Juliette weighed these options in her mind as her feet directed her towards the correct path. 'South it is than.' Juliette lifted her head up abit when she got the faint smell of ground coffee. Thinking of her father who always enjoyed a good cup of coffee in the morning, she followed the smell that led her further down the street.

  • He waited patiently while she was checking which direction she wanted to go. The bag was switched from hand to hand. Then, she chose which way she wanted to go. The road was not as busy as the other direction, almost no people were there. The street was lined with tiny shops that seemed like they werent open anymore. He didnt question her though. After Juliette had taken a couple of steps, Kano followed silently thanking her for picking this way. Kano's attention went to the bag. Without slowing, the soldier grabbed the chocolates out of the bag and offered them to Juliette.

  • She heard the rustling of the bag causing her to look towards the noise only to see Kano offer her the bag of candy. Juliette eyes it for a moment, but reaches her hand over to it to take a hold of it. Opening the bag she takes out a piece of wrapped chocolate and tears off the wrapper and pops it in her mouth. The scent of the caffeine grew and led Juliette to a small cafe shop which had an old couple outside on one of the tables available. She looked at the entrance and watched the displays all the while munching on another sweet.

  • //I'm sorry. I just don't have muse for anything right now so my replies will probably be sucky. um... I don't know if we know eachother well enough for me to tell you this, but I'm just having a hard time with my parents divorce and the sudden moving and such. Not to mention I just got switched into homeschool because my anxiety was way too high to be there? Maybe I'm the reason??

Ill hopefully get to replying in a couple days. I haven't forgotten! I promise!

  • // That's okay you don't have anything to worry about. Just make sure to take this time to help yourself and get better. I understand that things get difficult, but that shouldn't stop you from taking care of yourself. I wish for you the best of luck.

  • //Thank you so much! ^^

They paused by the cafe. The smell that filled the air was heavenly. It smelled like coffee and other assorted sweets. Kano glanced at her and in seeing her interest, made a step closer to one of the outside tables. The male motioned toward it in an offer to settle here for a little. They could always move on afterwards.

  • Juliette moves along with Kano and sets her bag of candy on the table she sits herself on the chair. She didn't want to get anything from inside, since the smell was enough for her. "If you want something, go ahead." JUliette points out as she notices him looking at the cafe longingly. She won't be cruel to prevent him from getting something, and she wanted to be alone with er thoughts for a bit. Juliette turned her attention to the streets and people walking and just observed them. She made up stories of how her life would of turned out to be if she was like them. The chocolate pieces finding it's way into her mouth as she waited for Kano.

    ~It's okay!

  • Kano stood by the chair for a moment. It was risky to leave her alone right now. He tore his eyes from the cafe, pulled the chair out, and sat down. His arms folded over each other on the table. The golden eyes focused on her for a little before switching to look at the passing people. Here and now it seemed calm and like nothing could happen. It was.. oh what did the call it... normal. Kano didnt know what that felt like. Never have never will. At least the now trapped queen had experienced that at one time.. maybe. His mind wandered, though every detail was taken in.

  • Juliette heard the chair being pulled back and felt Kano sit next to her. Her head tilted slightly to watch his profile and thought, 'He won't risk leaving me alone. It is his job to be a soldier and protect the ruler.' Knowing that he won't be getting up anytime soon, she released an audible sigh as she grabbed her bag of sweets and stood up. "Let's go inside and order something." She didn't wait for a reply seeing as she had already opened the door and walked in as if she'd been there million of times. The coffee grain smell was at it's peak and Juliette looked over at the desert panel to wait for Kano. "Order what you want, than we'll sit back outside."

  • Kano frowned as the seemingly irritated female got up and went inside. He followed, eyeing the people that came too near. Although it was busy, it wasnt crowded. Or, at least, that crowded. It was also warm and sweet in the little cafe. Everything a cafe should be in his opinion. She gave him an order, not one that he liked but an order nonetheless. He took a couple steps toward the counter before pausing and looking back.

"Juliette, what do you want me to get you?" Kano asked, glancing back at the growing line of people.

  • "A chocolate muffin." Juliette replied quickly as her sweet tooth came out. Even with the bag of sweets nestled in her hands, she still craved for more sweets. She made no mind to the people, but the mouths however to keen interest. SHe was feeling an immense urge in her stomach and felt like acting on it. But she had more self control than that. Double checking that her hoodie was still up, she stepped aside and waited for Kano to finish with the order. The indigo haired teen, if not paying close attention to, could of blended into the background. Something she didn't mind since that is what she wanted to do. You're so dull. YOu have so many fun toys in front of you and you won't even play with them. The demon showed himself as he as well stood next to her. She ignored him, but that didn't stop him from speaking. I know you feel it. The temptation. It's okay. Just give in. You won't regret it, in fact you'll start seeking for the joy

  • /I cant see it;;

Kano paused for a moment longer, waiting for the rest of the order. Then, he slipped in line. The line steadily moved up. Kano kept glancing over and at the people quickly moving. Hmm...

"Juliette, why dont you come stand in line too? Pick out anything else you want?" The blonde offered, while also offering a smile. He was trying to be nice and good, he really was. It was just hard when every single person that walked by could be led by a demon that may want to kill Juliette and you were trained to be a robot, not a person, it got hard sometimes. At least he was more human than robot.

  • Juliette continued to ignore the demon and watched Kano for a moment when he had called out to her. She looked between him and the people and also how close the demon was. Not wanting to be near it, she moved over to where Kano was. Just reach over and break them Jules. The demon smirked moving behind the counter. Her eyes trained on Kanos smile and eyes finding it odd and weird since all she's seen him sport was a blank look and a frown. Either way she turned her attention to the head board that held all the orders,"Just the muffin and light coffee." She was surprised to find her voice still smooth and not raspy as she had thought it would be.

    ~ Maybe this will help!
