    My Character:

Caspian sighed as she looked out the window of a small house that she had bought when she returned to the capitol.

"Do you remember your task?" The voice came behind her, the young woman looked over her shoulder at her mentor, who was an older lady.

"Yes Mara, I am to befriend the princess, I shall not forget the path laid in front of me," she said nodding.

Caspian then turned and walked to grab the items to sell at the market, most were crops, but some were baskets that Mara had dug out of the cellar. She then made her way out of the house and into the town square.

  • - currently on mobile so I'm sorry if this sucks it if there are any errors c: and since i can't post pictures correctly, just know that her face claim is selena gomez

  • "Catch me Codella! Catch me!" The young six year old yelled as she ran down the grand staircase, her blonde hair billowing behind her as she ran around in her pink dress.

"Wait up Mary," the princess called to her niece. Codella's older sister Jane was visiting whileher husband, Duke Howard Cantover had visitors at their home and Jane had brought along their only child Maryelle, known more commonly as Mary.

The twenty-three tear old princess scooped the child up in her arms once she had caught up, spinning the two of the around. Mary giggled loudly, her laugh echoing through the practically empty foyer.

When Codella put the young girl down, Mary tugged at Codella's flowy red dress. "Ellie, may we visit the market?" The young child squeaked, eyes wide with hope.

Codella bent down so that she was eye level with her niece. "Only if you ask your mother." Mary nodded and took off to find Jane.

Merely thirty minutes later and the two arrived at the market. Of course being royalty meant they had to have bodyguards so a few knights followed the two royals, keeping a little distance away.

The market was always Codella's favorite place to be when she needed to get away from the palace and the royal life. Mary held tightly onto Codella's hand as the two of them walked through the market, getting stopped here and there by the people of the village who wouldn't pass up an opportunity to speak with the princess and the duchess's daughter.

  • Caspian reached a good spot to set up, she had placed the crops in the baskets and put everything in order. The market was buzzing, she loved it here, many people of different backgrounds mingling, as if boundaries and titles didn't exist.

The brown haired girl had missed the old town, her aunt had lived in a small village on a farm, so Caspian didn't socialize much with other people. She recognized a few people from when she was a kid, elder James and his wife Diane, their hair had grown more grey since the last time she saw them.

She noticed the knights from a distance and smiled before returning her gaze back to a young man in front of her.

  • Codella stopped at a few booths, paying extra for the few goods she bought. She knew the townspeople needed the money more than she did so she often paid in the little gold coins her father gave her instead of silver.

"Its a beautiful day," Codella commented to no one in particular, see I as her niece had wandered off to a booth that had just been set up, selling fresh crops. The princess followed suit, her gaze traveling over all the crops that were for sell. "Hello," Codella greeted politely at the seller, a brunette girl.

  • "Good day, your highness," Caspian replied, she looked down at the child

"Would you care for some fresh vegetables? It maybe sooner fruits?" She suggested. She then looked at Codella, she had changed quite a bit since the last time she saw her, she looked more mature, less like the scruffy girl she used to play with.

The young child was a new face, but not a surprise as Caspian knew there princess had many elder siblings.

  • The princess did not recognize girl. It had, after all, been ten years since their last meetings and neither of them looked like the young girls they once had been.

The little blonde six year old point at a few of the apples, a favorite of both Mary and Codella. "Well take two apples," Codella said, nodding towards the pile of apples. "And please, formalities are not needed." Codella didnt like being addressed as royalty when out in the market, she hated having such a high status that everyone felt she was superior when she felt that she shouldn't be.

  • Caspian nodded and handed the apples to the to girls "Well, then miss. I should be polite," she stated

"The name is Caspian, it has been a pleasure," she introduced. Hoping the princess had recognized her by her name rather that her face.

Not many woman in the city had shared names of their fathers, so Caspian wasn't a common name and amongst women.

  • "Caspian?" Codella mused, her eyes looking the woman in front of her over. "As in Caspian Stone?"

Now that she said something, the woman looked rather familiar, her facial structure, while slightly more matured, looked the she as it did in her old memories of her child. She was taller, obviously it ha been ten years, and she looked more beautiful than she had before.

She doubt that if this was her old friend that she wouldn't be as shallow as the princess had just been and would recognize her, she was the only princess left in the castle since both of her sisters were married and moved out.

  • "At your service," Caspian said slightly bowing. She smiled at the princess "it's been a long time, Codella," she added.

In all those years Caspian always wondered what became if the young Royal, what she looked like, what she learned. She almost forgot who her old friend was, but one thing she had never forgotten was her free spirit.

  • Codella nodded her head respectfully at Caspian's bow. "A long time indeed," Codella agreeded with a small, wistful smile as she remembered running around with the older orphan girl. "How have you been?" Codella asked curiously. She wondered why Caspian was back but she didn't voice her curiosity. Her attention was drawn to the six year at her side who was rocking back and forth on her heels, looking bored. "Oh, Caspian, this is my niece, the young duchess Maryelle."

  • "I have been well, and as for you?" Caspian asked, she then looked at the young girl and smiled. "Pleasure to meet you miss Maryelle," she added with a small nod of her head. "I do hope you've been keeping Codella on her toes?" she asked the duchess, children weren't her favorite thing. But she at least knew to be civil with them, and even more with the princess' niece.

  • - sorry, I went to the covered Bridge Festival in Indiana and then went to see Happy Death Day last night -

"I've been well too," the princess said with a tight lipped smile. It wasn't that she disliked being a highly respected princess, but more so the fact that everyone acted like she was above them all the time. While that may have been true, Codella didn't see it that way.

At Codella's side, the six year old flashed a toothy smile. "Please, call me Mary," she said, falling into a clumsy curtsy that Codella had been trying to teach her as a sigh of respect. "It's nice to meet you Caspin," she said, mispronouncing the woman's name. "I try my hardest to keep Codi busy chasing me," the six year old giggled.

  • "pleasure to meet you, Mary," Caspian said. She then smiled and laughed at the duchess' statement. "Someone has to keep her busy," she added, "it's nice to see you again," she admitted to the younger woman.

She surely had changed, but Caspian felt overjoyed to see her old friend again. Though she seemed like a stranger, as she knew nothing about what had gone on in the village since she left, she hoped that nothing too drastic happened amongst the royal family.

((It's quite alright, I hope you had fun))

  • - i did. I have an obsession with owls and at the festival there were a lot of owl themed things and i just wanted to buy everything! -

"As with you," Codella admitted with a smile, laying a hand on the young duchess' shoulder. Codella had missed her old friend dearly and during the first few years she had stayed up late wondering what had happened to her.

"Oh, how is your aunt?" The princess questioned. She didn't want to leave quiet yet and deep down she feared that if she left she would never see her old friend again. She remembered Caspian leaving to live with her aunt ten years ago.

  • "She is well, my cousins keep her busy and make sure she is healthy," Caspian reported as she spoke about her aunt's two sons, Johnathan and Nicholas. Both young boys, but hard workers and great men. "How are your parents? Last time I saw them I was very little, your dad was very intimidating back then," she said. She remembered after her mother died seeing the queen and king, the queen looked gentle and kind, but the king was large and to the small Caspian, quite scary.

((I'm glad to hear, owls are so fascinating))
