  • (okay got it!)

Auriana sighed slightly, pulling out a small piece of paper which was hidden in the back pocket of her jeans. The sigh itself wasn't a bad one, but a good one. Currently, her best friend Dylan was walking next to her, the two of them were the welcoming commite for two new people that moved into their neighborhood, "Thanks for coming with me, Dyl, you didn't have to." She thanked, smiling shyly as she looked over at her best friend.

  • "Not a problem!"

It came as a surprise that new people moved to their sleepy little town. But not an unwelcome one. Dylan offered to come with Auriana when he found out the new arrivals would also be her neighbors. The two walked together towards the usually-empty, rather fancy-ish house that shared her street.

  • approaching doorway, the young woman smiled as she faced her best friend, "What do you think they're like?" she asked letting the excited butterflies in her stomach out.

  • Dismounting her motorcycle, Emerald looked up at the house they would be calling home for a while. She could appreciate its elegance, yet could also see the simplicities in its design as well. She had been there first to arrive at the new home, her brother, Leo, was supposed to be there shortly. She vaguely wondered what was taking him so long.

  • Dylan planned on answering, just as he heard the roar of a motorcycle. Well: "I think I hear one of them." That was just a wild guess. It could've been anyone driving by on a bike. He looked over his shoulder in the direction of the noise. Trying to spot who just arrived.

  • "That could've been anyone, Dyl, I think you're just as excited to meet them as I am!" she chirped happily, nonetheless following his eyes to see for herself who had arrived.

  • Clad in black jeggings, biker boots, and a riding jacket, Emerald set her helmet on her seat as she headed to the front porch of the large house. Reaching down to grab the keys, she realized too late that she hadn't grabbed her spare from her brother, and she sighed in frustration. That meant she would have to wait until he got there to go inside. Pulling out her phone, she scrolled through her contacts, looking for Leo's number.

  • "Oh!" auriana mused, watching the seemingly edgy girl dismount from her bike, looks like her best friend was right after all, and suddenly she felt a bit stupid, at least it wasn't the first mistake she had made during the duration of their friendship, "Looks like you were right, Dylan, looks like our new neighbor's a girlie!" she said, nudging him slightly, wiggling her eyebrows.

  • Dylan blinked, not responding completely to his friends gibbing. "Um, yeah." he responded distractedly. A good chunk of his current focus was on the other girl. The new neighbor. Trying to figure out...Whatever it was that made him interested in her. Not that her beauty wasn't one of them. "Good for me."

  • Emerald tensed as her instincts told her she was no longer alone. She could feel eyes on her, and she quickly dialed her brother's number. Holding the phone to her ear, she casually glanced around to find the source of her unease. It didn't take her long to find the two humans on the sidewalk, watching her.

"Sup?" Came the familiar male voice of her brother through the line.

"Leo," her own voice dripped of disapproval, "where are you? I thought you said you would be right behind me."

"I was, but I had to stop for gas. Look, go on inside without me, I'll be there in just a few."

"I can't. You have the keys, I never got a spare."

A chuckle, "Sounds about right. All right, all right. I'm almost there, just be patient."

"I would be, if there weren't two humans gawking at me." she hissed lowly for only him to hear.

"Hm," Leo retorted, "I wonder why a couple of humans could possibly be watching you." His tone dripped with sarcasm, "You don't exactly try to blend in."

"Just hurry up!" Was the last thing she said before hanging up.

  • auriana couldn't help but listen in to the conversation, she had tried to but atlas the curiosity was just to strong, we just wanna say hello. she frowned, feeling the girls uneasiness, they really meant no harm, she waited until the girl was finished on the phone before introducing herself, since dylan was still gawking at the girl. she laughed nervously before speaking, "uh, hi there. my name is auriana, and this is dylan. we just wanted to welcome you to the neighborhood! sorry if we startled you." auriana apologized.

  • Emerald gave a tight-lipped smile at the girl as she stepped up and introduced herself and her friend. She gave a nod in greeting, "Thank you. My name is Emerald. Pleasure to make your acquaintance, the both of you."

The roar of an engine sounded around them as a black Mustang GT rolled down the street, pulling into the driveway before them. Opening the door, Leo stepped out, pulling his sunglasses away from his eyes as he peered at the front porch of him and his sister's new home.

  • "Nice to meet you Emerald!" auriana beamed, clearly still having to do all the talking since dylan was still gawking, she didn't even think that this was possible. she rolled her eyes slightly and snapped her fingers in front of his face, "earth to dyl!" she said, annoyance dripping from her words. suddenly, auriana's attention was averted to the car that had stopped in front of the house, a boy had stepped out and suddenly she was just like dylan, she couldn't pinpoint it, but she was drawn to this boy.

  • Emerald didn't even glance at the boy, her attention was on the girl who was obviously the talker of the two. Upon Leo's arrival, she let out a small sigh of relief as she watched him exit the car and slowly make his way towards them.

"Well good evening." Leo called, stepping up on the porch with his sister. He turned to the human girl and... His smile faltered. A sense of familiarity hit him. It was as if... He knew her. From... Somewhere. He couldn't quite explain it. Nonetheless, he continued to smile at the two, "Can we help the two of you?"

Clearing her throat, Emerald spoke to her brother, "Leo, this is, um, Auriana, and Dylan. They came to welcome us to the neighborhood."

"Oh. Well how... Neighborly, of you."

  • a few moments pass before auriana snaps out of her trance, focusing on emerald instead of leo, what was it? did she have a crush on him, she had just met him? love at first sight am i right? she thought before listening to emerald speak, leo, even the name sound familiar. god, auriana snap out of it leo's a common boys name! she mentally slapped herself, refraining from doing the same in real life as well. she glanced at leo once again before clearing her throat, listening to him speak, "yup! that's us...neighborly." she offered a nervous smile, nailed it!

  • "Mmwha?"

Dylan had to quickly snap himself out of distraction. Blinking, he gave a 'proper' answer that wasn't gibberish, "What she said!" He agreed with Auriana and smiled awkwardly, as well. Great: Now they'd look like creepers.

  • Pursing her lips, Emerald tried her best to at least be polite and patient with the humans as she attempted to excuse Leo and herself.

"Um, right, well, we just moved in so we'd better start unpacking and settling in. Um, Leo? The key?"

Smiling at his sister, he took out the house keys and unlocked the door, making sure to give her the spare before turning back to the humans, "Right, what Emerald said. We should start unpacking. It was very nice meeting the two of you, thank you for your... Neighborliness."

  • come on! auriana thought, smiling nervously once more as she nodded, "o-oh of course!" she dismissed it, "i know how it is." she said, referencing the whole packing ordeal, she was completely oblivious as to the two siblings intentions, "well maybe when you're done we can all hang?" she suggested, shrugging her shoulders a bit, nailed it again.

  • Sharing a look, the siblings smiled politely, "Um, perhaps. It's starting to get late and we're not sure how long it'll take to get unpacked..." Emerald explained.

Leo held up his hand to his sister, smiling at Auriana, "We will certainly let you know if we get the time."
