  • It had been so long since Cannie had had time to simply admire the beauty of a territory. Even longer since she'd had enough time to search through the plants, trying with all her might to remember their names and scents. Though some did smell familiar, it was difficult for her to recall their exact title. She had spent far too long forgetting the ways of the world in its simplicity.

She may not have been one to get into fights on purpose, but traveling the world often resulted in injury whether one was expecting or not. Plenty of times she had been patched up by some kind soul only to leave soon afterwards, so one would think she would have some idea of what she was looking at. Yet still the plants' functions managed to escape her.

In something akin to frustration, she found herself picking through the plants of the territory and grabbing anything that seemed medicinal. When she had returned to camp she had a sizable bundle of plant varieties which she laid at her feet. With one paw she began examining each of them closely, giving an occassional sniff and taste. "I know these are important somehow, I just have to. . . remember." Self encouragement was an important part of success, even if everyone else just saw it as talking to yourself.

  • wylan, as of late, began to wander more and more just for the sake of taking a walk and clearing his mind instead of staying huddled within his room or secluded at his lab stations, all focused and tense. he had found that.....being among nature was probably one of the best kinds of therapy that was offered by Mother Nature herself. So, that’s what he had found himself doing. Just traveling and letting his minds be free from the troubles that plagued him. He often stayed towards the forested hillsides, as they provided a variety of views of the mountainous areas and distant lands, along with the little town in which they resided as well as the ocean and the rivers. and so, wylan found that to be the most serene places......and when he needed a break, that’s where he headed. and that’s currently where he was, actually. laying among the grassy hill.

as he laid, wylan’s cerulean gaze found annd ewually cerulean creature within the distant that....was pulling various different plants from the ground. wy came to recognize said maned wolf as Canopus, one of their most recent joiners. He watched her from afar for a while, head tilted and a small, confused smile upon his face as he watched the canine hop from place to place. Curiosity growing stronger, the ginger hued tabby feline brought himself to paws to investigate what she was doing. however, as he began to draw near, she started returning to camp. he almost wanted to call out to her, to stop her so he could ask her what she was doing with said plants and just....congregate. but, as she disappeared within the not-so-distant camp, wylan decided against it. he didn’t want to bother her too much, after all. So, he kept quiet when sinoky continued his travels until he reached camp.

the young chemist, once arrived, spotted her near-immediately and without a second though, he drew himself closer to her though at a noticeably slower pace, curiosity lined within his gaze. "I-uh.....don’t want to appear rude," wylan began, adjusting his brown satchel upon his shoulder a bit awkwardly, "but if you don’t know them, it’s not......it’s not safe to taste them." wylan would state as gently as he could. his main concern was that.....one of said plants could have been poisonous. and he didn’t exactly know how to treat poisoning, so he wouldn’t know how to help. after a moment of silence, wylan’s gaze focused upon her again, lips pulled thinly into an awkward smile, hoping to make himself appear as.....well, to put it bluntly, not an ass, as possible. "do you need help with naming? or perhaps the functions? I can help you, if you want," wylan knew his fair share of herbs. anyone who went through chemistry and organic chemistry would have to.

    "Speech." + TAGS

  • Cannie had been completely absorbed in her futile study of the compounds in front of her, so much so that Wylan's appearance caused to her jump for a moment. "Oh!" She blinked several times, reciting his words in her mind. "I- sorry, I was just so curious. I've always wanted to know more about herbs, and they smelled a bit familiar so I thought maybe. . ." She trailed off. Perhaps she had eaten herbs in the past, but Wylan had a point, and furthermore none of them tasted like something she really wanted to put in her mouth at all.

Her expression quickly morphed into a sheepish smile, her ears drawn back in embarrassment. "I would appreciate a bit of help, if you don't mind." Supervision would be a lot safer, all things considered. And Wylan seemed to know more than she did.

Cannie grabbed one of the plants in front of her, a small bunch of blue flowers with short leaves. "What's this one do? The flowers are awfully beautiful."

  • Shining had worked with herbs and medicine for his whole life. Well... almost. His first month or two as an apprentice was spent training to become a Knight; the old Hawkclan term for a warrior. Ichigo, the leader at the time, had attempted to train him. Keyword being 'attempted'- Shining had numerous amounts of trouble trying to learn to fight. Physically because his body had been blind at the time. Mentally, he wasn't in the right mindset. The tom had wanted to do something else.

Fortunately, the path of the Shaman- a medic, a healer- opened up for him, and Shining had immediately taken it. He quickly realized that it was the right road to follow. He had yet to regret his decision. After years of learning (self-taught, for the most part), Shining was very confident in his knowledge and capabilities. But there were always news techniques coming out that he had to familiarize himself with. Better, more efficient methods of healing. But the old tried-and-true techniques would always be around.

Shining had spotted Canopus and Wylan together, looking over a small collection of plants. Naturally, the curious side of him drew him towards the group to see what was going on. They seemed to be discussing the herbs' uses. The Captain sat himself down next to Wylan, his gaze landing on the blue flowers that Canopus was inquiring about. Shining already knew the answer, but he'd keep it down for now, waiting to see what Wylan would have to say.

Instead, he decided to speak up about something else. "Interested in herbs I take it, Canopus? If you want to know more about them, you might consider wanting to join the Medical Guild."

//i obviously have to match muse :^]

  • As Shining approached, Cannie perked up, happy to see the kind leader coming to join her. She nodded at first to his initial question, but at the mention of a guild her face lifted in intense curiosity, her ears perking taller than ever. "A medical guild?" The title was familiar, she was sure the clan her family lived in had something similar, but she wasn't entirely sure what it entailed.

Though despite her lack of knowledge on the subject, Cannie couldn't help but feel this was something she needed to know more about. A guild for medicines could surely teach her more about her interests, and no doubt there were other members of the guild to help her. With an even brighter smile, the blue maned wolf quickly stood in excitement, bringing her face closer to Shining. "Oh you simply must tell me how to join, I so want to know more about this!"

  • The light in his eyes grew a bit brighter, after hearing and seeing the maned wolf's excitement. Canopus definitely had enthusiastic interest in the matter; most others did not. Riverclan had been lacking on the medical side of things; Lessa being the only Nurse, but she had Hawkclan duties as well. And Shining, as Captain, could hardly devote his time to the usual Doctor work. He'd have tryouts soon enough; hopefully some clanmates would be interested.

"It's as simple as asking me. We have three guilds; Warfare, Commune, and of course, Medical. I'm the head of the latter," the feline explained. "So if you wish to join, I'd be more than happy to add your name to the list." A list that was, unfortunately, rather short. But he made sure to bring up the topic of guilds every other meeting, so the newer members had a chance to join. "We meet in the building between the greenhouse and the center High Power building. I'm there from time to time; if you can't find me, then your next best bet is Lessa, our Nurse. Hope to see you there!"
