History:

Out of all the unfortunate children that were sired by the devil, Itami supposes that she could consider herself one of the luckier ones, considering that she didn’t have a too terrible of a childhood. Her mother, to her understanding, had fallen in love with the Devil when he was in the real world for a short time. When he left, she came with him, and Itami ended up being born in the underworld. It was—and still isn’t—uncommon for mothers to die during or after childbirth when they are carrying a child that isn’t fully human, and Itami’s mother died due to health complications when she was quite young. Despite everything, Itami was not unhappy growing up, even though she was surrounding by suffering. After all, she had never known anything different.

She did not have a close relationship with her father, due to him being rather busy with the whole running-purgatory thing, but she did find companionship with the lesser demons that served him; and created herself a make-shift family of sorts that helped raise her. Through this, she was eventually made aware of the extent of the atrocities that her father committed on the daily, which shifted her viewpoint on the world as well as her place in it considerably.

As soon as she was able, Itami left for the outside world, determined to leave the reality of her heritage behind her. She jumped from place to place often, but ended up living with a forest witch who helped her learn to glamour herself to appear more normal to regular humans.

And now, after receiving a mysterious letter about the enigmatic Grimm High, Itami—after much persuasion from the witch—set off to learn a bit more about magic and others who were like her.
