    //Continuation of this thread!

She was just training for the future medicine apprentice. That's when an apprentice harassed her, calling her names. Eventually, she grew tired, snapping at him. He snapped back. He eventually grew so tired, that he tossed her in the river. "That's where you belong, Half-Clan scum!" Quite obviously, the WindClan-RiverClan kitten was not having a good day.

Despite her having the body of a RiverClanner, she hadn't been taught to swim yet, and the current kept sweeping her under as her paws feebly tried to keep her head up. "HELP!" The kitten called out, before she went under again.

    Purepaw / Riverclan & Apprentice/ female [♀] / sweetheart

*:・゚✦ Purepaw had never been a great swimmer. She really would label herself as a good one either, but her love of the water always drew her back. She never ventured too far, always staying close to the edge and just enjoying the cool mists of the water as it hit the rocks.

She had been resting there for only a few moments before a sudden shriek for help startled her. She stood, only to gasp at the form of. Young kit bobbing up and down as the swift currents pulled it along.

"NO! Hang on! I'm comin'!" she called as she hesitated to leap into the water. It hadn't been but a few days since she too had fallen in, almost loosing her life as well. Sudden flashes of the day played in her mind as she tried to blink them away.

    "Speech."

  • Swiftrise was pacing the riverbank, looking for some bright feathers or shiny shells to decorate the nursery when a loud cry for help drew his attention. Pricking his ears, the ginger calico tom looked around, his intense green eyes searching for the source of the cry, when he caught a glimpse of a small shape sinking down into the river. It was a kit.

Panic flooded his limbs and, without hesitation, Swiftrise lept into the water, swimming strongly towards where the shape had sunk. He didn't care if this kit belonged to another clan, or a rogue, or even a kittypet. It was a kit, and he knew he absolutely had to save it.

Diving down, the long-legged tom spotted the kit feebly trying to swim, but it's movements were slow and weak. The warrior quickly sank his teeth into the small kit's scruff and hauled it over to the bank.

Dragging the waterlogged lump onto shore, the drenched tom quickly began licking the kit, trying to warm it up and get its airways going.

Oh please, please don't be dead!

Moments before the two had arrived, her leg slammed into a rock, which certainly wasn't helping her circumstances. As she heard what sounded to be a muffled call to hang on, the calico's head bobbed up again.

But, before the apprentice who had nearly died days earlier could grasp her, another long-legged too grasped her scruff. At first, thinking it was Daypaw, the one who tossed her into the water, she coughed and struggled weakly. She was dragged onto shore, and as her eyes opened, the sunlight blinded them and she closed them.

That's when she felt warm licks on her, warming her up. It also allowed her to breathe more and she coughed up water, looking at Swiftrise and (possibly) Purepaw. "Wha...?" She started to ask.

  • ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Oh StarClan oh StarClan oh StarClan. How many times could she grasp at the names of her ancestors with trembling limbs pointed towards the sky, her honey-colored eyes bugging from her skull, eyelids peeled back to allow for the widest view possible? This had happened before. The river was a source of the most awesome proportions of life-sustaining materials as well as a void of agony, where Clan cats and rogues alike screamed in silence as they fell below the waves. Doestar was... running through the grasses. There were screams up ahead. It was like she was teleporting, blinking with lightning-quick paws, her short legs flying across the shore. Purepaw and Swiftrise clustered about a small bundle. Oh, no. Oh no no no no.

She skidded to a halt at Twilightkit's side. Blink. He was speaking. Her heart was consumed by beat after beat, thunderous beats clutching her, her chest and throat seizing with relief and the aftermath of a terrible panic. The leader's anxiety was impossible to be controlled. It was a beast. Doepaw and Doepelt and Doestar would careen into a frenzy of fear with birdsong and strange smells and GOOD STARCLAN, a kit that had nearly drowned! She leaned closer, forgetting to allow the poor child some room to breathe in her haste, eyes darting about his soaking-wet face, the thinness of his features revealing itself as the water was absorbed by fur. Purepaw and Swiftrise were dripping with water as well. Oh StarClan they had saved the kit. Her breaths were coming out in trembling puffs, her entire body shivering with gratefulness. "Thank y-yo-you b-both. Th-thank y-you." the words escaped her jaws, gritted with anxiety.

"We'll get you some help. Don't worry, dear. Don't worry. It's going to be all right." she leaned back, raising her rumbling voice to an adequate volume, a herculean effort for the soft-spoken she-cat. "Larkthroat! Wildpaw! Sirenpaw!"

    Purepaw / Riverclan Apprentice / female [♀]

*:・゚✦ Why did everything have to scare her? Why couldn't she just jump in the water and save the day? With wide eyes the apprentice watched with anticipation as Swiftrise dove in, resurfacing only moments later with the water logged kit.

Bouncing over, Purepaw helped the warrior up onto the banks. She watched as he began to wake, and her heart slowed with relief. He was alive.

As Doestar rushed in, Purepaw made sure to stay out of the way. Doestar would know what to do, and hopefully she would be much more braver about it then she had.

    "Speech."

//Not to be rude but Twilight is a she!

She looked around, once the stinging light of the sun didn't totally blind her. Icy luminaries focused on the warrior first, and then suddenly the leader who rushed forward, telling her that she would get herbs before calling out names. She didn't know those names. Which lead her to believe one thing. " Thank you... Is this... StarClan? I'm... I'm Twilightkit... from WindClan." She says, weakly. After all, she could've very well died after an apprentice from her own Clan decided to chuck her in here.

  • Swiftrise gave a small sigh of relief as he realized the little she-cat was alive. He continued to lick the kit as she stirred, knowing good and well that a kit as small as her could die from the cold that river water brought. Doestar called out for the medicine cats while Purepaw looked on, a worried look on her face.

The tall warrior paused his licks as the kit spoke.

"No, you aren't in Starclan, little one," he rumbled. "You're in Riverclan territory. What on earth were you thinking, taking a dip in the river? It's very dangerous for a Riverclan kit, and even more so for a Windclan one."

  • lingering in the last light of dusk

lies within the shadows of trust

What was she doing by taking a dip in the river? Well. That wasn't really her choice now, was it? She frowned, though a very tiny smile made it's way into her face upon not being... dead. She moved her head during the licks, though grateful they had stopped once he spoke. "I...I wasn't taking a dip! An apprentice... Daypaw, he threw me in. Said it was where I... belonged?" She meowed.

  • "oh dear," she hummed to herself as she sprinted through the swaying grasses and rolling reeds and moors towards the river where her name was echoed through the jaws of doestar. where the hell was her comrades wildpaw and larkthroat great starclan she had to learn all this nonsense on her own and was asking peachmoon for help and starclan for help too. good grief.

"i'm here, i'm here!" she yowled, it was unusual for her to be so loud as she slipped forward, trembling and nervous did her paws shake as she slipped beside doestar. "what's wrong?" her gaze fell upon the kit who was wet and shivering from the cold. she was talking, by the looks of it the water was already flushed from his stomach and his lungs.

//can you give me a rundown of any wounds, etc. so siren can help. thanks! :^)

  • //hate to interrupt, but y'all twilight is girl sorry, i hope that didn't sound rude, just pointing get that out for everyone

  • Wildpaw

Words hurt more than battle wounds. It was true. And Wildpaw knew from experience. She used to be a kittypet, living her 'fat and lazy kittypet life'. When she moved to RiverClan, most of the cats welcomed her. Larkthroat on the other hand made sure to spit a few mean words here and there. It got especially worse as they both became medicine cats. But she never thought to jump into a river. She kinda wanted to keep bugging Larkthroat who honestly just wanted her dead.

Wildpaw had been dozing off near a tree. She found there to be less and less work as Sirenpaw came. Part of her liked Sirenpaw. The apprentice was kind and hard working. But part of her felt scared, like her was taking everything away from her. She never thought that her would have to share or compete for the role of medicine cat. The whole situation was quite unusual and confusing to Wildpaw but she sucked it up. Whatever. Honestly, it doesn't matter.

As a yowl ripped through the sky, she opened her eyes and bolted up. It was Doestar by the river and she had called for all of the medicine cats. She wondered who was in trouble. Racing over to Doestar, she found a wet kit lying in the middle of a bunch of RiverClanners. Sirenpaw was already there so she sighed in relief. "What happened?" She asked as she raced to scene. It looked as if the cat had taken a bath in the river. But she didn't look like a RiverClanner so that seemed like trouble. Turning to the kit, she looked at her wet fur. She looked fine but she might have swallowed some water. "Sirenpaw, can you run back and get me some yarrow. Just in case. And some moss." She hated giving a kit yarrow but she needed to get rid of the water.

//Day! Don't be mean, but yes, Twili is a female. Also since the water's gone, she's just cold and has a mildly bleeding hind leg.

The kit looked up upon hearing the yowl. What in StarClan was going on? Twilightkit looked up at the medicine apprentice, trying to offer a small smile. Her icy gaze focused on the young apprentice.

"I got tossed in the river?" She replies.

  • Swiftrise felt sick. What kind of cat would dare throw a kit- a helpless kit- into the river? Rage began flooding into him, but the calico tom kept his expression neutral.

"So someone... threw you... into the river..." he said slowly, doing his best to keep his anger in check. Gritting his teeth, Swiftrise turned to his clanmates.

"I think we should bring this to Jasperstar's attention," he said monotonously to Doestar, his claws digging into the muddy earth.

    .

He had heard some manner of commotion and naturally, had moved to investigate the assortment of worried voices. Tigerscar slipped along the river bank with pebbles pressing into his pads and water lapping at strong paws. What he found was a WindClan kitten surrounded by the former leader's own clan-mates, explaining that she had been tossed into the dark depths of the river. Harsh. The powerful warrior recognized Twilightkit immediately, his burning gaze almost soul piercing as it settled across her form.

"Well now, WindClan seems to love being dramatic, don't they? First one of their members murders a RiverClan apprentice, and now they're trying murder each other! Not even BloodClan had that much internal discourse. I'd recommend a clan-wide therapy session." Tigerscar's words rang with amusement as he took a seat nearby. His eyes shifted from the kitten to Wildpaw, and then slid over towards the other medicine cat apprentice. "I could get those herbs for ya, if Sirenpaw doesn't want to." He knew exactly what to look for. He was a healer himself, though not by any official rank. "I don't think yarrow is necessary though. She seems to be doing fine. No harm in getting it just in case, I suppose."

Once more, Tigerscar's attention focused itself on Twilightkit, "How's yer breathing? Can you take a deep breath without coughing?" Swallowing too much water could cause some discomfort, but that was a secondary problem. It wasn't as important as insuring that the young female could breathe. "Does yer stomach feel full?" He had arrived late to the scene, so in truth, he shouldn't be trying to take control of the situation, but Larkthroat wasn't around, and Wild and Siren were just apprentices who still had plenty to learn. Tigerscar paused mentally at that, glancing at Sirenpaw. He should offer her a bit of extra training. The medicine cat didn't seem like the best teacher, with his rather hostile attitude. Ironically, the former BloodClan leader was certain that he could do better, and what harm was there in offering a bit of advice?

She nodded. The HalfClan kit got tossed into the river. How fun would that be. Her eyes flickered and her ears perked upon hearing Tigerscar. After all... training was fun! He said nothing about their nightly training sessions, which was nice.

Yeah, WindClan was starting to want to kill each other. Many felt like the purebred pedigree of WindClanners was at stake. So being HalfClan didn't help that matter. "I can breathe, and my stomach doesn't feel full." She answered calmly.

At her response, he nodded with a small smile. He had been right in assuming that yarrow would not be needed. "That's excellent, little lass. Yer a tough one, aren't ya? Heh." Of course she was, they had met in the Dark Forest before. "Now then, I need you tell me the name of the cat who did this to ya. Who tossed you into the river?" Hopefully she'd be comfortable enough with him to respond without any amount of stubbornness.

  • yikes- okay day it was a mistake :^) thank you, twilight for the run down <33

dear goodness starclan, tigerscar was better at her job than she was, it was only accurate considering she was quite new and well, wasn't trained. she'd have to ask that bloodclan scum to train her, that just meant she had to be nice to him- she nearly puked in her mouth at the thought. "oh," came her words softly as wildpaw arrived, asking her to grab some yarrow. she swallowed, she wasn't needed here. there it was, that insecurity again. insecure about her work, insecure that she wasn't good enough, but she was oh so young.

blinking, she clenched her jaws to push everything back as she glanced up at the brute once more. "it's fine, tiger- i'll get it," she murmured, slinking away from the scene softly, "thank you," came her next words towards the bloodclanner before she sprinted off towards camp.

grabbing a swob of cobwebs, a bit of wet moss, yarrow as wildpaw asked for it, and golden rod to heal the wound. slipping back to the scene after several passing moments, she was out of breath as she came to take a seat, passing the yarrow to wildpaw before the medicine cat apprentice moved to the kit's wounded hind leg where it bled ever so slightly. "looks like she hit her leg upon a sharp rock in the river," she speculated softly, dapping away at the blood with the wet moss to make the wound clearer, nothing but a bit of deep cut. chewing the goldenrod up to make a poultice sirenpaw applied it within the wound as the leaves were quite wonderful to heal. it would be unlikely she'd get an infection with such a mild cut. next, she swabbed some cobwebs upon it and she was done. she glanced up at tigerscar in hopes she was correct, then to wildpaw as the apprentice would know some more perhaps being that he was with larkthroat longer.

the female's claws coiled within the ground, little barbs they were as she ground her teeth upon the matter of who threw her within the river. she wanted payback. damn windclan, someone needed to push them back in like, what the hell was jasperstar doing over there? getting fat and sitting in the sun as he watched his clanmates kill people? she never felt such hate in her heart before, but she'd seen so much death this past moon, it wasn't good for someone as innocent as she. "someone needs to put windclan in their place," she growled, words barely audible.

  • Who had done this? Who could possibly throw a kitten into the river to drown? The thought of it made her sick. The younger feline seemed to be okay, despite her near-death experience. Nightgaze came to a stop beside her clanmates as they gathered arouns, collecting herbs and the necessary herbs to help the WindClan kitten.
