  • //so sorry this is late and kinda rushed KHA-BELETH.

Val had found his stuffed bird. In reality, it hadn't really been lost. He'd found it easily when he looked among the rocks on RiverClan's red beach, right where he'd left it. Now, he was playing in the sand with his toy, burying it before uncovering it once more. Pretty soon, that got boring, so the cub shook off as much red sand as he could from his stuffed animal's fur and carried him toward the ocean. Valemon was still fearful of stepping foot in the waves, but he liked to see what creatures made their way out of the water and into the tide pools. This time, he discovered a nice looking shell that looked perfect for his sister. Sekai liked shells. As he thought about all of this, he passed the shell between his paws, rubbing the grooved surface of it absentmindedly.

"found some buried treasure?" was the casual if hesitant and quiet query from the dark scaled child currently walking through the sand, in an attempt to be less startling - grimacing slightly when it caught in his scales, ugh sand was awful, coarse and irritating and it got everywhere!

The dragon child snorted slightly - ugh he'd have to clean this out later - his attanetion returned back to the cub he remembered from when he first came here - he ah, wasn't sure. If he'd be welcomed so kept his distance - the cub did seem to have something against him although possibly it was dragons in general.

Maybe he should ask about that.

    Maybe later

Still Khabeleth shifted, talons sinking into the beach as the young dragon shuffled quietly.

////I'm sorry I can't not reference that quote in relation to sand |D

  • Of course, Val hadn't been paying attention and jumped in surprise, dropping the shell as he heard the somewhat familiar voice. He managed to stay where he sat, though, despite his every indict screaming at him to get away. This wasn't End Game. It couldn't be, right? This was a baby. The dragon who had attacked him had been one of the biggest creatures Val had ever seen. Still, he couldn't remove his gaze from Khabeleth, even as he retrieved the shell he'd found. Then, he held it out to the dragon in order to show him what he had. "Shell for Sekai. Like shells?"

//even before I read your ic response, I knew what you were talking about cx

Khabeleth inclined his head curious as he shuffled closer to glance at the shell - seemingly analysing the curves and design, truly nature could be fascinating in truth before his eyes turned back to Valemon and he leaned away so as not to disturb the other too much.

"-I, I don't know really" the devil child answered in response to that question - he wasn't really sure what he disliked or liked anymore "I can't remember if I did" what an awful thing to not even remember the small parts of your own identity.

Maybe one day he would regain what he lost, maybe.

He blinked out of his thoughts briefly, shrugging lightly - the action caused his wings to shuffle "they are pretty though - perhaps we should find more? For Sekai?" he offered, trying to be more friendly since Valemon still seemed uneasy with him and he didn't know if it was impolite to ask (or would dredge up bad memories) - eyes flickere to the water, maybe in the shallows there were some untouched ones? He was fairly confident he could swim underwater long enough to reach some if they were a tad further out if need be.

Though not too far, deep waters were dangerous and all that.

  • Can't remember? A familiar feeling for Val, yet he'd never been reincarnated. Still, he was in agreement with Khabeleth about something else, too. "Pretty," he said with a nod. Just like his sister. Although, she seemed a bit fonder for seashells than he. Did Khabeleth know Sekai? He couldn't remember - there it was - if she had been there when they'd discovered the baby dragon. They might've met since then, though.

It was becoming clear to him that the other meant him no harm. Plus, he wanted to help him. "Thank." The cub began to turn back to the tide pool when he noticed his clanmate dying the ocean. "Swim?" Why would he want to do that now? He had just promised that he'd look for shells with Valemon.

//same, if you couldn't already tell

at the question Kha would simply shrug "Just thinking there might be some pretty ones under the waves still" not that he'd outright jump in the water first - there were plenty hidden shells left to find on the beach and in the rock pools.

idly he wondered if this form might have gills and then wondered why he thought that, huh some random memory again it seemed.

idly his long tail swished behind him before he spoke again "Where should we start?" he asked eying some of the other rockpools and the distant outline of a more shelled region of the beach.

  • There were shells under the water? Valemon hadn't really known that. The farthest he'd ever been out to sea was to dip his legs in up to his knees. And, even that was scary sometimes.

But, he was glad Khabeleth decided against that for now. After all, then he'd be alone once more on the beach, which wasn't as fun as being here with someone else. He followed the dragon's gaze to one of the larger tide pools. In this one, there were actually creatures moving around, such as tiny crabs and water slugs. Even a few small fish swam in the shallow pool. The cub pointed to the tide pool with a paw, a questioning look on his face, before he went ahead and scampered over to it. What were all of these things? There were weird spiky purple things and other creatures that looked like they were laying down on their backs, arms outstretched. Maybe Khabeleth would know. "Fish?" he asked, pointing to one of the starfish with a claw.

Then again, that wasn't really what they were supposed to be doing, now was it? Trying to take his mind off of the colorful fish, Val set down his stuffed animal next to the pool and instead use his paw to reach down into the warm water. After shifting the sand around a bit, he able to uncover a pretty white shell. Lifting it from the water, he placed it down on the red sand to dry.

  • TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ — Kha followed Valemon as he investigated the rock pool, leaning over next to the cub to peer into the water and spy the creatures - though he scrunched his snout when one of the crabs attempted to climb onto him.

crimson eyes turned to what valemon had pointed out, a vague recollection had him saying the name of the creature "mm, a starfish" before he too dipped a taloned paw into the water in an attempt to sift out a seashell.

a singular small curved shell got caught up in his talons as he brought it out and cleared the remaining sand from it - the shell was an off-white cream colour, he offered it to valemon for inspection, seemingly to ask if it passed muster.

  • //apologizes that my replies have been so late!

Starfish? Star, like those shiny dots in the sky at night. Although this thing hardly looked like that, he believed that Khabeleth knew what he was talking about. The dragon was probably almost as smart or as smart as Sekai was. Val dipped his paw into the water once more, pads skimming the bottom as he looked at the shell Khabeleth showed him. It was perfect. He was sure his sister would like it. He pulled his paw from the pool, a tan, pointed shell in his grip. Now that they had plenty of whitish colored shells, he wanted to try and find some a bit more colorful. Just as he was about to add this newest seashell to the pile... it moved. Startled, the cub dropped it and let out a small squeak of surprise. Then, right before his eyes, a little crab crawled from the shell, with it still on its back. Thank goodness the thing hadn't been able to pinch him; Valemon remembered once when his nose had been grabbed by one when he was digging through the sand. It hurt a lot.

  • TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ — Kha placed his shell on the pile, the dark scaled dragon shuffling his wings behind him - the long span meant they sometimes dragged when he relaxed them and well, he didn't want them getting wet sand stuck in them.

Kha looked up as Val squeaked, craning his head to see what had startled the cub - oh a crab? there was a name for this kind he was sure but it slipped his mind for a moment, instead the dragon turned back to Val "we mistook his house for a shell seems" amused the dragon watched the crab scuttle off "we'd best be careful not to evict anyone else"

    //Its fine! no worries c:
