  • CIVILIZE THE MIND BUT MAKE SAVAGE THE BODY / Brynhild Arcanium / She/her / Sunclan

Princess. Bryn hated the title but appreciated the honour it brought. She liked knowing her heritage meant something, she enjoyed knowing she had a place among ranks, but she hated the stereotypes associated with the very words. A young maiden graced with elegance, pristine beauty and fragility, many of her sisters had those traits but Bryn? No way. In her head she was no princess, she was a knight who aspired to be a queen and she was growing restless. Only four months old and she was growing at a shocking rate, she was already the size of a subadult domestic feline and the growing pains were only increasing as the days passed. There was no doubt that physically she was maturing at a much more rapid pace than her siblings, or anyone else she knew of. She was full of pent up energy, she was bored and absolutely miserable staying in camp. All had been checked out, all had been explored already and the tempting urge to exit camp was intensifying.

So many other clan members could come and go as they pleased - Levi for example. She hated being harsh, but the guy practically looked like a kitten due to his size and he probably weighed like one too. Why was he allowed outside the camp and not she? Maybe... Maybe she could change the rules a little, and even if she couldn't, maybe she could just leave really quickly and come back as if nothing ever happened, not caught and therefore never in trouble.

The best bet to do such a thing was at dusk where the sun was setting and the region all the more quiet, a perfect opportunity to take off without being noticed and as soon as Bryn saw a relatively unoccupied place she quickly scampered out of camp until the site was out of her view and finally she was within the true wild region that was Sunclan's territory. Just feeling herself cross the fictional line between camp and territory felt so incredibly rewarding, her heart pounded hard in her chest and her toes curled into the soil, a wide smile spreading across her maw as she looked around, kicking off into a gentle trot as she went off on a little stroll.

  • Diana was lucky that she hadn't been so restricted as a child, otherwise she was certain she would have gotten into as much mischief as the Arcanium children. They were an adventurous bunch, that was for sure; she had met many of them already through catching them outside, in places where they evidently weren't allowed to be. At this point, she found it more entertaining than anything else.

For better or worse, Diana failed to recognize the child for the royalty she was; up until now, she had associated them all with a more kitsune-esque appearance. This one was bulky and more felid, lacking the telltale wings she had come to know well as a sign of the Arcaniums' most recent litter. Either way, the idea of children roaming alone didn't sit well with her, especially outside of the capitol; what if she were to be attacked by a predator, or an enemy? She could slip and fall, or trip on a rock, or...

Diana pushed the thoughts aside as she trotted over to the girl. "Hello, dear. What're you doing out here alone? Shouldn't you be asleep?"

  • levi's mother had been quite restrictive with his freedom but unlike many children, levi hardly desired to rebel. he knew she was actually only trying to protect him due to their home being incredibly dangerous. the landfill had been a wasteland of sins and criminals, the foggy disgusting air carrying diseases and death. yet, leviathan would at times slip out to scavenge for food for his mother when she began growing sickly. it only ended up with him scavenging for food for himself after his mother's eyes no longer glowed with loving warmth. while brynhild was thriving and becoming a creature of immense power - levi's heart and mind had become shattered with his mother's death when he had been four months old. his body became bones and fur, hardly a child until he eventually came stumbling to sunclan as an orphan. suga had adopted him and now the child had grown. his skinny body was now a rippling muscular figure yet due to the undernourishment, his growth for height had been held back.

many had already taunted levi, even in his first day. squirt. shortie. stubby tail. shortstack. dwarf. gremlin. he heard them all yet it never ceased to cause the japanese bobtail to grow heated and spit out poisonous curse filled insults back. did no one understand the feeling of being patrionized and underestimated because they were small? he doubted since most creatures in sunclan were taller than him. yet, leviathan had proven himself enough to show he was more than he seemed. leading the raid that defeated bloodclan in a battle. dragging back prisoners which had included a traitor. was an ambassador for one of their allies. he had aided his clanmates in times of need and tried to show he cared yet it seemed fruitless since many still perceived him as some grumpy asshole. which was somewhat true. though, levi hardly gave a shit about what they thought of him as long as they didn't push his buttons.

he was returning from a patrol by the borders with his velvety ears twitching to every sound as he noticed it was growing dark. the male enjoyed working solo so it didn't bother him and it allowed him to become more guarded, his lean figure slightly tensed and ready to spring into action if anything happened. as he pushed through the territory to return to the warfare guild, the short prince halted at the sound of a voice which he recognized to be diana's. his metallic gray eyes caught sight of another figure which he realized was one of the new children of suga's. as he halted beside the taller figure of diana, his half-lidded glare snapped to look up at the child, a deadpanned indifferent expression lacing his youthful features. "do you even know the territory? if you get lost, i am not making a fucking search party." he commented flatly, his left ear twitching as he somewhat understood her desire to explore yet leviathan didn't want to waste time looking for lost children.

  • CIVILIZE THE MIND BUT MAKE SAVAGE THE BODY / Brynhild Arcanium / She/her / Sunclan

It did not take too much time of wandering until plans went far from what was expected. Bryn had expected to leave and wander in a short period of time, short enough to slip back into bed unnoticed and unsuspected. However, that changed when Diana's voice caught her attention and soon enough the Targaryen woman was standing within the young girl's field of view. Knowing she had been caught and that she was not going to go far from here, the felinoid catsune drew her quarters back to sit down, a sigh escaping from her maw as she faced the matured woman, her ears dropping as she heard the nickname 'dear'. Sure, it was natural for people to address children with little petnames but Bryn wasn't one to appreciate them much, especially by those who were not her parents

"I'm not tired."Came the child's simple yet straightforward response. She did not find any use in defending herself or explaining her actions, it was a waste of time to argue with adults. She was about to rise up again and walk off until a sibling of hers, Levi came forth and her violet eyes immediately locked upon the frame of the male. The way he spoke so flatly, curses lining his words like ornaments and facial expression as blank as an unmarked page did not settle well with Bryn, it made her slightly uneasy for this stillness felt demeaning in some way and if there was anything Bryn hated more than anything it was submission.

"I'm fucking learning." She knew very well the word was taboo, especially for children, but Levi was just asking for a taste of his own medicine and she delivered it. If anything, it was his fault. He was old enough to know kids picked up on what adults did, he was setting himself up and Bryn took her chance to smugly get a message across.

  • She cocked her head at Brynhild's reply, startled by her bluntness. For a moment she was silent, but then she found her voice. "Well either way, I don't think it's a very good idea to be out this late. It's not exactly safe for someone so young." Granted, the girl was far larger than most children her age, and could likely hold her own better than others of her skill level (or lack thereof), but she was evidently still a child.

Diana looked up when Levi arrived. She was in for another shock when he spoke to their clanmate in such a strange monotone voice, and then — "My lord, I apologize, but you shouldn't use that sort of language in front of a child," she protested hastily, looking rather flustered. Such profanity had been virtually nonexistent in her life; it was rather improper, in her opinion, and the Targaryens had always been a refined house. Elyse would never have allowed talk like that, certainly not around Diana.

Brynhild's reply was even more stress-inducing, and she returned her gaze to the girl with eyes nearly popping out of her head. "That is not how you should be addressing anyone, much less a goldenblood!" chastised the dame, growing somewhat frantic in an almost comical way.

  • STARS CAN'T SHINE WITHOUT DARKNESS

    Brightkit / Sunclan & new / Female [♀]

~The kitten stumbled over. She had been sick. Her mother figure, Caly, had left. She had no one to confide in. The young kit sat down looking either side of her before her emerald gaze settled on Brynhild. Her ears fell back. She never knew another young one would use that language. Brightkit felt comforted by Diana's presence, as she seemed to be the only one who was taking control here. her ears fell forwards yet again, as she strained to hear the conversation. All her senses seemed to be muddled ever since Caly left. She couldn't quit figure out who she was and her purpose. However, she cleared her throat quietly, and raised her chin slightly. "I think we should listen to Dania..." She said, her voice trailing off.

  • Bryn liked to bend the rules and Ang sort of admired the young Arcanium for that. Besides, weren't rules made to be broken? The kitsune wasn't quite sure how pleased Suga or Sarangerel would be when they found out their child had been trying to escape the safety of the city, the parents were rather overprotective of their children. Those traits equally smart and helicopter-esque - just let children be children and learn from their mistakes the kitsune would argue. Diana and Levi both apparently were more like the Royal heads in their concern for Bryn getting lost, although the pair expressed their concerns in very differing manners. If Angeldust was being perfectly honest with themselves they still thought Diana was a little too formal and polite and needed to loosen up still.

Coming over to Bryn and the trio that had formed around the princess Angeldust chuckled in clear amusement by Bryn's antics. "Bryn's got a point though." Angeldust's blue gaze settled on Diana's form as they addressed the female with their remark. "Besides," A dramatic pause was unnecessarily added as Ang turned to Leviathan's form while continuing to address Diana. "Levi brought it upon himself really." A mocking smile adorned the kitsune's face and directed towards the other Goldenblood.

The girl bound over and blinked. Was her sister in trouble? She did not like that. Ears pinning back, she would crouch near the others and tilt her head. Waiting to see what was going to happen to her.

    "Speech."

TELL THE GRAVEDIGGER THAT HE BETTER DIG TWO

  • his stoic expression hardly twitched at the curse that was returned, his fictional brows furrowing with a perplexed annoyance. he wrinkled his dark nose at the comment, a sharp exhale of a sigh escaping his lips at her rebellious nature. "in the dead of the fucking night? use your head for that and also try to not parrot everything someone says. think for yourself, brat." he snapped sharply, his stormy gray gaze drawing upwards to the face of brynhild. he knew how kids were yet he had hoped someone kept their individualism. if she cursed regularly like him, he would've have dismissed it as just some normal habit. but the young prince realized this was the only time he had heard the taller arcanium child curse and it caused him to wonder what was the intention of doing that. to sound tough? to bite back at him? it hardly caused any impression. instead, he just felt like she was another irksome child thinking they could do whatever they wished without there being any consequences.

at the comment of diana, the short obsidian japanese bobtail shrugged his broad shoulders in a nonchalant manner as he replied "if she is uncomfortable with the way i speak then she can head back home and not deal with me. she knows the way to that at least." the last comment held a stinging tone to also send her a message as the goldenblood's eyes flickered briefly towards suga's biological child. diana seemed very formal yet it never once bothered him, it seemed she held a calm civility that many lacked nowadays, besides she treated him with equal respect - a rarity to people who first met him and judged him by his looks as being some small pushover. the corners of his lips twitched as he noticed her getting flustered at the curse word that had come from brynhild yet when a familiar scent caught his attention, his half-lidded stare now turned towards the silhouette he recognized immediately as angeldust. leviathan remained silent, simply observing before hearing the cheeky response from the medic, knowing instantly that they were trying to probe at his temper. a look of clear annoyance burned on his face as the cravat wearing male rolled his silver gaze. "great to see you understand a kid's perspective. i'm not surprised by that at all." he responded without skipping a single beat for levi was known to always have some poisonous comment for angeldust. why? probably because he constantly thought of the nerdy kitsune yet no one needed to know that kind of information.

  • CIVILIZE THE MIND BUT MAKE SAVAGE THE BODY / Brynhild Arcanium / She/her / Sunclan

As Brynhild caught the slight flex of muscles within Levi's face, adding emotions to his blank expression a smirk began to tug at her bold lips - finally the guy actually showed that he was capable of feeling stuff, yeah sure, maybe annoyance wasn't a good emotion, but it was one to say the least and this felt like an achievement. His scold went by unnoticed, sure, the female heard him and his sour words but did she give a damn? No. There was nothing this guy could do to her, so instead her attention went to Diana who was offended by this language in a comedic fashion. She very well knew Levi had a high place within this hierarchy, but that in no way saved him from her attitude. She'd send a stifled laugh towards the female, but otherwise remaining silent in face of the stranger.

Okay. She had her pleasure of pissing off someone today. Now all this talking was getting annoying.

The final person to take the girl's attention was Angeldust and seeing that the girl was agreeing with her perspective the catsune sent yet another smug grin towards Levi in an almost challengingly manner. Her repetition of his foul mouthed words were not repeated due to an innate desire to fit in, but because she was smart enough to know what she was doing, but hell, she wasn't going to admit that. As the rising conversation around herself was starting to die down she let out a long audible sigh before finally speaking again. "So... Can I go now?" She was definitely going to have more argument in her if she was to be sent back immediately, but for now she supposed she'd have to ask the older individuals for permission to leave no matter how tedious it was.

Glancing back, she would wave her nine tails and smirk. Was she being independent? Maybe. But she was sure her sibling would like the support.

TELL THE GRAVEDIGGER THAT HE BETTER DIG TWO

  • The Arcanium head was admittedly slightly overprotective of his children, but for good reason. While he would usually want his children to thrive in their adventurous personalities, find themselves or whatever the fuck, they were in the midst of war, and the outer areas of the territory were not a safe place for four-moon-olds. He didn't enjoy keeping them closed off in the pyramid, and often times he would pretend he didn't see them sneaking out of the building, but Brynhild had caught her father at the wrong time. He had just returned from a hunt, and when his blood stained snout caught onto the scent of his daughter heading away from camp, he dashed to her location. Not only was it night, but outside of the city's main limits had been proven unsafe at the time. His paws brought him to his clan-mates' flanks in time to hear a bit of argument being thrown around, and while he gave swift attention to their comments towards each other with a lazy laugh, he was more focused on the Princess. "Bryn, you can come back to the pyramid with us to sleep. If it's that big of a deal, I'll take you out to see the territory tomorrow morning," The Commander said, tilting his head to the side in question.
