" And it's my whole heart
    Weighed and measured inside
    "

This is a private Dragon Age: Inquisition thread between me and -Requiem-.

    Plot:

Anastasia Trevelyan is the Herald of the Inquisition and is burdened by the anchor on her hand. Upon hearing that there is another with a similar situation as her, she sets out to find them to aid her and the Inquisition in their fight against Corypheus. They call him the Fade Wolf, and he has been said to hold a unique power. Whether these two will be able to team up to help take down Corypheus before it's too late? Only time will tell, and there isn't much of it left.

" And it's an old scar
    Trying to bleach it out

  • Ooc:

Thank you for making the thread dear! I'm going to post a small bio of the smol before anything gets started to give you an idea of who Zaos is!

  • Ooh~ He looks very interesting! I suppose I will do the same with Anastasia.

  • Ooc:

Ahh she is lovely! Also, i forgot to put Zaos' class! He is a mage as well! With that, i will start us off! I'll add in Cullen in the next post!

    Ic:

It was strange to hear of what tales have been spoken of him. How he sent forth spirits from the fade to do his bidding against red templars and monsters from the rift. How he gain the alias of 'The Fade Wolf' and how some even refer to him as another Herald of Andraste. That was one of the Shemlen gods' yes? Zaos could never keep thim in line. Only a few referred to him as that, but most kept it to 'Fade Wolf'. His real name was a mystery, and he preferred to keep it that way. The apostate did not need anyone knowing his true name and use that against him. The last thing he needed was to be found out before he could even do anything to help.

For now, the small elf had hidden himself deep inside the Kocari Wilds. Not many dared to travel there, and only those with a deep importance would travel this far in. He lived in a small hut, magic protecting him from daemons sent by Corypheus. That monster wanted him to create more soldiers for him, to summon all he could from the rift to aid him in his fight against the inquisitor. He figured word of his powers got around and the female shemlan would come looking for him soon enough. He would not mind helping her, seeing as she wanted to end the threat that horrible creature loomed over Thedas.

Yet here he was, keeping himself hidden away from the world instead of going out on his own and seeking the Inquisitor. Then again, if she needed his help, she would come to him. He honestly had no desire to get involved in the craziness of this mess, but would upon request. If it meant he could help change the world for better, he would always be in. Besides, it gave him something to do. He could learn more about his power over the fade, and see how he could use his power to give the Herald an advantage on the battle field.

  • The road from the small town of Haven to the Korcari Wilds was a long one, but one that the Inquisitor was willing to take. if it meant finding a possible ally that could help her defeat Corypheus. At least they had the mounts they were on to help them travel the distance. With her, Anastasia brought a few choice people to aid her in finding this so called "Fade Wolf," and they all rode behind her on their own mounts. A Tevinter mage she had befriended, named Dorian, rode a white Imperial Warmblood mare. Next to him, riding on a black Amaranthine Charger stallion, was a Nevarran woman with short black hair by the name of Cassandra. Finally, behind the two of them - and riding on the most unique of the mounts - was a dwarf by the name of Varric who was riding on a Greater Nuggalope boar. Some other people insisted on coming, and that included the advisors. Leliana was mounted on a chestnut blanket appaloosa Green Dales Feral mare, Josephine on a smokey black Orlesian Courser gelding, and Cullen on a blood bay Ferelden Forder stallion. Anastasia herself was mounted upon a grey Orlesian Courser mare which walked in the front of the group, leading them to where they all believed they would find the Fade Wolf.

The Korcari Wilds were in sight as the group passed through Ostagar, where the first battle of the last Blight was fought those many years ago. Anastasia remained silent, her mind rushing over itself in thought. She desperately hoped that they were headed to the right place. She had gotten her information from various sources, none of which she could say were very dependable, but she would take what she could get.

Dorian sat upon his horse, rather bored with the long travel that they had embarked on to find this "Fade Wolf." He wasn't sure he believed it, but truth be told he had heard and seen stranger things in his time, so he hoped that the Fade Wolf did have the powers they thought he did. The whole idea of bringing spirits and demons from the fade to aid the power wielder was fascinating to Dorian, and he was excited to meet their possible new ally to bombard him with questions.

  • Ic:

All was quiet in the Kocari wilds, but it came off as unsettling to the small mage who stowed himself away. He was currently on his way back to his hut, various herbs in a small basket dangling from his arm. Elfroot was the main herb to be found, but some deathroot could be seen sticking from the woven basket. He also had a few Spindleweed and Blood Lotus plants towards the bottom, but the Elfroot was visabally covering them. He needed to make some Health potions, Lyrium potions, Confusion Grenades, and Spirit Resisting Tonics. He often went out into the wilds to fight whatever was lurking around, calling upon the fade to send him helpers. He rarely used such a power, seeing as he could take down plenty of the Shades himself.

The brunette had on a cloak, his hood up and covering most of his face. Only his mouth could be seen. The long sleeves of the robe covered his hands, and his mark was concealed. He just looked of a normal passer by, which is what he wanted. Soon whispers filled his ears, making him stop in his place. The herald comes for you, Fade Wolf. What shall you do? Follow her path or keep out of it? They need you. The voices came with his connection to the fade. Though the often helped more than harmed. His head raised as he saw he was in front of his hut, quick to dissapear inside. Pulling the hood from his head, his green hues darted around his small space. His eyes landed on his staff, which held a small blade on the end. He ran low on mana more often than not, so he wanted to be prepared in case he needed to fight with out magic. He knew the inquisitor would arrive soon, and the voices were muttering about it too. He sushed them lightly, pulling the cloak from his body. He had a feeling he would not be needing it anytime soon.

    --

Cullen followed behind the group, wanting to make sure everyone was safe and far from harms way. He would hate to not have seen danger from behind, but his mind was beginning to press with questions. He would follow the Imquisitor into the jaws of death without question, but he was curious to know if they were heading the correct way. So, his heels dug ever so gently into the heels of his Forder Stallion, causing him to snort and speed up. Stopping by the female's side, the military advisor cleared his throat before speaking." Inquisitor, are you certain the Fade Wolf is close? I can send some troops ahead to seek him out. I just want tovmake sure this isn't a wild goode chase." He explained his concerns, hazel eyes peering gently at the female.

  • Anastasia shook her head. "There is only one way to be cure, Commander, and that is to check the Wilds. I know it's unsettling, but if it means putting an end to Corypheus and closing the Breach, then I believe a little wild goose won't cause much harm," she replied with a light smile. "Besides, I was beginning to freeze back in Haven." The group continued forward, still nothing in sight. But then, just beyond the brush and trees, Anastasia spotted it. A small hut amidst all this greenery. The only sign of any civilization within the Wilds that they had seen thus far. Anastasia stopped her mare and motioned for everyone else to do the same. It was possible that this was the hut of the Fade Wolf, or some hermit mage spouting riddles and nonsense again. She hoped it was not the latter.

The mage turned her horse to the side so that she could more easily face the group. "If we are to approach, I suggest we do a small group as to not be intimidating or threatening, as a large group of armed mages, warriors, and rogues might look like."

Dorian stopped his mare and sat back in the saddle. He spoke up after the Inquisitor finished her sentence. "I'd be glad to accompany you. I would like to meet this Fade Wolf. I have questions."

"We all have questions, Dorian. But I do not doubt your interest. I'd be glad to have you." Anastasia responded.

Dorian smiled. He was excited and curious to find out who this person might be. He moved his Imperial Warmblood up front near the Inquisitor and then a bit off to the side as if in waiting.

  • Ic:

The small evlen male stopped in his tracts as he heard commotion from outside his small hut, figuring it was the inquisitor and her group of allies. He thought for a moment, consitering wether if he should wait for them to approach, or walk out there to invite them in. No- he had been hiding for long enough. They had traveled all this way, so it was his tirn to take the first step. He cleared off three other seats, deciding to let the Inquisitor bring in two companions. That seemed to be all his little house could handle.

He put his robe back on before walking towards the door. The hood was pulled over his face again, not wanting to show it in the open quite yet. One never knows who is lurking about to report back to his enemy. The wooden door slowly opened, revealing the cloaked figure." Greetings, Inquisitor. Please, come inside. Two companions may accompany you." His voice was gentle and soft, as if spoken on a breeze. The door stayed open as the figure dissapeared, going bsck inside to stir his brewing health potions. His Confusion Grenades were almost ready as well. Though more pressing matters needed to be attended to first.

    --

Cullen was about to speak again, but he listened as the female explained a small group should go to confront whoever resided inside the small hut. He knew he would be going, seeing as he was most able to protect the Inquisitor if needed. His head shot up as a new voice entered the area, looking over to see a small cloaked figure. His hazel orbs looked back to the female at his side, not liking this situation." Let us be careful, Inquisitor. We do not know who he is." He reminded lightly, dismounting himself from his horse. He held out his hand to help the shorter female from her horse, offering an encouraging, slight smile.

  • Anastasia was a little taken aback on how this person knew who she was, but she supposed that if he were the Fade Wolf, he would have such connections to give him that information. She watched as the figure disappeared into the tiny hut before she turned to Cullen to hear what he had to say. The mage gave a small shrug and a short sigh through her nostrils, as if she was implying it was worth a shot. She dismounted her mare and tied her to a nearby tree, giving her a nice scratch before she face her companions. "Come on you two. Be on your guard, but don't be intimidating. We need this."

Dorian dismounted his horse as well, tying her to a tree close to the group. He pat her shoulder and walked back towards Anastasia and Cullen, hands on his hips. "Oh please, me? Intimidating? It's your precious Commander you'll have to worry about there." he chuckled.

  • Ic:

-Zaos is awaiting them inside the hut. I'll add him back in once these three are inside-

    --

Cullen couldn't help but scoff as Dorian mentioned him as the intimidating one, tying his stallion to the tree." Only when i see fit. I am not that intimidating otherwise." He reminded, walking back towards the Inquisitor's side. He nodded to the smaller female, taking lead and stepping inside the hut. He saw the cloaked figure standing over a boiling pot, the red liquid is what he assumed to be health potions. He caught sight of the staff, quite surprised to see a small knife on the end. What a unique fighting style he must have. A mage who fought up close would be a sight to see. Perhaps he could teach Dorian a few things through training. Maybe whip that scarcastic attitude into shape. Now he would definately pay coin to watch that. Deciding to keep his mouth shut, he took a seat at the table that held four chairs. He would let the Herold do the talking in this situation.

  • Anastasia walked in right behind Cullen and Dorian followed. Once inside, Dorian took a seat at the table. Anastasia was a little reluctant at first, but soon took a seat as well. The inside of the house was small, as could be inferred by it's exterior, but it had a homey feel. The familiar scent of elfroot and health poultice stirred in the air around them and there was a moment of silence. "So, I am assuming since you knew who I was, you are the one who they call the 'Fade Wolf?'" she asked, almost too eagerly. She wanted to do introductions, but she didn't want to give away too much if this was not who she thought it was.

Dorian sat silently as Anastasia spoke, knowing all too well that he was not the one to be the voice of the Inquisition. He eyed the figure curiously, who was still huddled underneath his robe. He couldn't but wonder what he looked like under the hood. Elf? Dwarf? Human? Neither? And he desperately hoped that this was who they were looking for, because Dorian didn't know if he could spend another couple weeks on horseback searching for someone who might not want to be found. It was exhausting. And besides, he was getting saddle sores.

  • Ic:

As soon as the door closed behind the three figures, the small elven male abandoned his position at the stove to turn towards the three. Reaching up, Zaos slowly pulled the hood away from his face and allowed it to fall down his back. His light blue eyes peered at the three, elven ears pointing out from his chocolate locks. The Vallaslin of Mythal adorn the top half of his face, pale skin showing them all the more. His head nodded slightly as the Inquisitor spoke of his alias, looking down at his hand." I am indeed the 'Fade Wolf'. I assume you have saught me out due to our similar situations, yes? I'll tell you now; i am more than willing to help the Inqusition defeat Corypheus. It's due time that monster is put to rest." He spoke softly, eyes grazing the three. The two men on either side of the inquisitor were interesting, but his eyes lingered on the tanned male, but he quickly looked back at the female.

    --

Cullen was not surprised to see that the 'Fade Wolf' was indeed an elf, but he looked a lot different from most Dalish elves. He seemed to look more human; well, besides the markings and ears. His hazel orbs drifted over to the Inquisitor, wondering how she would react to the other's words. He was surprised to see how quickly the other agreed to helping, but it wasn't as if he expected the elf to say no. After all, he had guessed Corypheus had come after him. Most likely to get more troops from the fade. So it was nice to hear they would have help. A kind of help that would assure them more forces anf numbers.

  • When the Fade Wolf looked at his hand, Anastasia looked down to her own, clutching it before she looked back up to the elf. She was surprised that the elf had agreed so quickly in helping them, with no terms or anything. She was happy, but she couldn't help but be a little suspicious. "I'm glad you see it that way," she replied. "Well, now that we are sure of who you are, I assume introductions are now in order. You already know me as the Inquisitor, but my name is Anastasia. This here to my right is Cullen, and to my left is Dorian."

Dorian nodded his head and offered a charming smile to the elf when the Inquisitor said his name. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Fade Wolf." he said. He figured the Fade Wolf would most likely have been an elf seeing as there was probably a connection to the Dread Wolf, but for some reason, this is not what he expected the Fade Wolf to look like. He seemed young, but clearly talented in his abilities. It was very intriguing to the mage.

  • Ic:

Zaos was glad that he was accepted without question, some obvious tension releasing from his shoulders. As the inquisitor intorduced the two men to her side, he bowed slightly in greeting." A pleasure to meet your aquaintence. My name in unimportant for now, so you may refer to me as you normally would. Now, i suppose we will make our way back towards Haven, yes? I do not have much, nor do i own a horse. So that may pose a slight problem." He explained, turning his back to check on his potions. He saw that the health potion was indeed ready? Grabbing a few glass viles. With expertise, he filled them and placed a cork in each bottle. He would most likely have to ride behind someone, and he hoped it was someone warm. He often got cold fast, so maybe he could press close and share body heat.

    --

Cullen found it a bit odd that the Fade Wold did not want to gice away his name, but he could understand why he did not want to. Corypheus could have a spy on them right now, and names could pose as issues later. So it was smart to go by an alias until it was known they were safe. He was also surprised to hear the elf did not own a horse, but that could be easily remidied. He could ride behind himself or Dorian. Knowing the flirtstious Tevinterian, he would graciously offer the spot situated either in front or behind him. It would not surprise him in the slightest.

  • Dorian was curious about what the Fade Wolf's real name could be. He understood the importance of keeping an alias when you were being hunted by such a monster as Corypheus. That's partly why Anastasia went by Inquisitor when they were in public. That and she was also an apostate who tried to keep herself rather hidden when templars were involved. That seemed to be another reason why the elf was keeping his name a secret. When the opportunity popped up, piped in quite quickly, but his charming personality made his sentence seem much less rushed. "I would gladly let you ride my mare. Although, you will have to sit behind me if that is not a problem."

Anastasia turned her gaze to Dorian for a moment, letting out a small chuckle under her breath. It was just like Dorian to be oh-so chivalrous. She looked back to the Fade Wolf, hoping he would agree and therefore come with them back to Haven - although she was quite curious to know how he knew that was where they were stationed. Probably those connections he probably has again.

  • Ooc:

The offer that came from the tanned male surprised the small elf, but he nodded his head after a moment." Thank you. I do bot mind being seated behind you." He said, a gentle smile gracing his pink lips. He knew that they would be leaving shortly, so he turned back to his workbench and began to pack. He pack Healing potions, as well as Lyrium potions for when he grew low on mana. He could tell that both the Inquisitor and Dorian were mages as well, so he packed anfew extra in case they needed them. His confusion grenades went in next, as well as whatever herbs he had left over. His bag was relatively small, so he attached it to his hip. His cloak hid it easily. Grabbing his staff, he placed in om his back before pulling his hood up again." Shall we leave?" He hummed lightly, stepping towards the door.

    --

Cullen called it. He hit the nail right on the head. Of course Dorian would offer. A breathy chuckle left his own lips as the Fade Wolf agreed, standing up." You may start to reconsider when he talks your ears off. Or questions you to death." He mused, stepping aside for the Inquisitor to reach the door first. He looked down at the seated female and smiled lightly, proud to be at her side. It truly was an honor, really. To fight beside the one who was going to save the world from Corypheus' evil grasp. Plus, he would fight until his last breath to keep her safe. Anastasia would neve get too injured with him around.

  • Dorian let out a gasped and clutched his chest. "Commander, I am hurt." he said, shaking his head. He looked the the elf. "Have no worries. I've been told I'm an interesting conversation holder." he smiled, standing from his seat. He had to say, he was excited to be with the Fade Wolf for the travel back. He really did have a ton of questions.

Anastasia chuckled at Cullen and Dorian's usual teasing and she stood from her chair. "Yes, we shall be going now. We've got no time to waste." she said, heading for the door. On her way past Cullen, she gave him a short elbow to the chest and she smiled. "Told you it wasn't a wild goose chase." she chuckled, happy that they found what they were looking for. It seemed to be seldom that things worked out, but the Inquisitor was glad this was one of them.

  • Ic:

A soft giggle left the small elf's throat at the teasing between the two, taking a step closer to Doian. The top of his head stopped just under the other's nose, showing he was quite a bit shorter than the shemlan in front of him." Then this ride should be an interesting one." He mused lightly, opening the door to his hut again. He saw a few others still stationed on horseback, offering them a light bow before stepping fully outside. He had a feeling he was going to be questioned by the mage quite a bit, but he hardly minded. It would keep his mind occupied of the lolming threat of Corypheus at bay.

    --

Cullen felt the elbow in his side and chuckled, lightly elbowing her back." I was not doubting you, inquisitor. I was doubting his existsnce. Though you were correct, this was no wild goose chase. Now we have a powerful ally who wants exactly what we do. We may have turned the tables on Corypheus now." He said softly, watching as the small male stepped from the hut. He moved to stand by the door, deciding to he the last out. That way he could ensure the safety of the Inquisitor. Just a habit he jas picked up, really.

  • "Oh, I don't doubt it." Dorian smiled and followed the Fade Wolf out of the hut. He directed the small elf over to his Imperial mare and he mounted quite quickly. He bent over and offered his arm to help his new acquaintance onto the large horse's back. His horse was quite the tall one, being about 17 hh and rather regal looking. Mounting was always a struggle on this mare for the shorter riders, and Dorian wanted to help the elf as much as he could.

Anastasia chuckled, but slightly stiffened at the mention of Corypheus. As dumb as it sounded, she hated thinking about him and what he was trying to do. It was still a little overwhelming to her. She walked out of the hut and towards her Orlesian Courser mare, whom she mounted quite easily due to a ton of practice - as her mare was rather tall as well. Once she was situated in the saddle, she turned her horse back on the path and looked to the group. "Everybody ready to head out then?" she asked, just to make sure they were set to leave.

  • Ic:

Zaos followed behind Dorian as he was lead to the rather large horse, finding the creature to be quite beautiful. It had a regal appearance, standing tall with her head held high. Quite a beauty. He took the other's hand as he attempted to mount himself on the horse's back, struggling slightly due to his short stature. He finally got up, stradying himself on the back. His hands were pressed oh so lightly into Dorian's shoulders, shuffling to get comfortable. Once he was situated, he nodded to the Inquisitor. His hands gripped the saddle behind him, his cloaked for still rather close to the male in front of him.

    --

Cullen saw the female tense, instantly regretting bringing up that monster. He was true; having the fade wolf most likely would set Corypheus back a few steps. As everyone left the hut, he closed the door behind him and made his way back over to his Ferelden Forder Stallion. He mounted with ease, seeing as he has been riding horses for many years. He saw the Fade Wolf struggle lightly due to the height of Dorian's mare, but he was glad the other got on relatively fast. They would need to get him his own horse when back at Haven. He looked over to Anastasia as she spoke of leaving, nodding his head gently. He was as ready as everyone else to get out of the Wilds.
