    HallowClan

"Our purpose is what drives us to become better than what we are now. Go fourth and find your destiny."

    -Coughstar

The evening sun was beginning to rise in the moor, however, within the deep woods of the forest it was still night. The clan in the woods never really had specific dens to sleep in, but rather an area in a clearing where each rank generally sleeps. The leader Oakstar has awoke with the nonexistent sun and slid across camp like a prowling tiger, his paw steps hitting heavily on the ground. Recently the male was anxious. Many females were becoming Mothers, which terrified him. He thinks that dying of childbirth was the worst death ever. He sees it as the female dying because of love. He also sees it as, if a female gets pregnant before she finds her purpose and dies giving birth, she failed in her quest of life. So she was punished. His mate, Sunnystar, was pregnant. He HOPED that she would be alright. Her and all the rest of the Mothers.

    -Pebblepaw sleeping-

  • Soft green eyes opened as Briarfrost yawned and stretched. The young she-cat trotting out. Her limp noticable as she made her way towards her sister. She was a fighter and proud of it...but didn't mean she left her sister out of her life....though sometimes the duo was often apart. Her sister was out more often than she was... which annoyed the calico to no ends. Her muscles rippled as she sat down and waited for her sister to appear. IT amused her to note that her sister took forever to get up. Her green eyes appeared devoid of emotion unless she saw her sister, then the green orbs sparked to life with a bit of warmth as she stood up and greeted the Siamese with a gentle nuzzle to her sister. Her tail flicking. Luckily, even though she had been mouse brained enough to fracture her shoulder, she managed to fight just the same except for the limp she would always have.

Twilightmist yawned as she opened her stunning ice blue eyes. The hunter stretching before she trotted out of the den, her gaze landing on her sister and then Oakstar. she was abit more on the shy side as Briarfrost was the protective one, especially since their mother and father had passed. The hunter smiled shyly at her sister, nuzzling her and licking her ear fondly. Her eyes also appeared empty as they had resolved together to not speak or react since their parents died. The Siamese licked her long fur with a tongue, her eyes on one of her leaders and she glanced at her sister. She was astonished how much strength her sister had even after becomimng crippled.

  • ooc; throwing a track down for now, I will be deleting this and posting some time tonight hopefully (whenever my parents decide to tell me to get off of xbox)

  • A young russet-ginger kit lay next to a light grey tabby kit, asleep. Her ear twitched every now and then, the one with the bite hole in it. Suddenly, her sharp green eyes opened up and she softly sighed. I was so close to catching that mouse! She thought. Bouncing to her paws, Foxkit prodded her brother, Stormkit. "Wake up, Stormkit!" She mewed. Without waiting for a reply, she bounded away towards a small moss-ball she had left from the last night, pawing it out of the space she had put it in before waiting for her brother.

Stormkit blinked open light blue eyes, feeling the prod of his sister's paw. The calmer of the siblings got to his paws and stepping quietly out into the open, or at least the main part of "open". He glanced around and spotted Foxkit pawing at a moss-ball and sighed, feigning annoyance. Suddenly, he darted forward and batted the moss-ball away from his sibling with a purr, and soon they were racing around the camp.

  • Legendstreak~female~fighter

    Seleppaw~female~apprentice

Legendstreak padded into camp, two squirrels in her jaws. She gave a nodded of hello to Oakstar and placed them in the pile. She looked around camp, the day was new but she needed to get Seleppaw in the habit of waking early. Certainly not as early as her, she had been awake for quite a while and knew that the apprentice would never be able to handle that, but early enough that she didn't miss the morning! She slunk into the apprentice den and poked the apprentice in the side, "this is a warning." Her voice slid softly into the apprentice's ear. Her eyes opened a crack and she mumbled, "okay." Legend streak made her way back out of the den and sat down to watch the morning come about and see her clan mates wake.

  • Startlingly yellow eyes snapped open, thorn-sharp black claws sinking into dusky bark underfoot. The eyes flitted down to the camp floor, tracking a large cat as he prowled through the shadows. Nettlemask lifted her head, eyes unblinking as she watched him pace back and forth as she slowly woke up. She wasn't quite sure of what exactly had woken her, but it hadn't been a pleasant awakening as sudden as it had been. Her eyes finally slid away from the leader to rest on the two sisters. Briarfrost and Twilightmist were undeniably close, even when their duties often kept them from each other. For a fleeting moment, Nettlemask remembered a pale muzzle brushing her own, green eyes glowing with pride as her name was chanted. She shook the memories away. Her parents were dead, and that was that.

Snorting idly to herself, she abruptly stood and jumped down off the branch she slept on, landing a few tail-lengths from Oakstar. The fur on the back of the tortie's neck rose at his anxiety-ridden scent, and her yellow eyes flashed as she quickly glanced warily at him before slinking off to the side of the camp to crouch in the shadows. She didn't know why the tom was so worked up, but she decided it would be best to simply stay out of the way and see what happens.

Ice blue and leaf green eyes opened slowly, and elegant jaws parted in a wide yawn. Ferncreek smiled tiredly as she heard Foxkit and Stormkit playing, and she purred quietly at them in greeting before bending to lick the four kits nestled at her belly. As usual, that familiar ache settled in her heart when she looked at Amberkit, her eyes softening as she imagined a strong, tall warrior with amber eyes and a welcoming smile. Ambergaze would have loved them, she knew. He'd loved Foxkit and Stormkit, even though they weren't his own kits. The queen sighed and lay her head on the side of the nest, not wanting to move while the other kits still slept. Her eyes narrowed slightly with concern seeing the hole in Foxkit's ear. Indignation, annoyance, and worry battled within her and, as usual, annoyance and denial won out. Her kit was not weak! A kit at four moons old shouldn't be forced to swim, anyway. So what if Foxkit didn't reach the other side? She huffed and leaned forward, playfully nipping at the end of Stormkit's tail as it waved in front of her, careful to not prick the skin. Her kits were just perfectly fine, thank you. And no trial needed to prove it, either.

Slyheart sighed heavily from where she sat near the elders' den. Her father Elkheart had been restless early this morning, so she'd come to sit with him a while and talk about things. Mostly they talked about Redface, her mother and Elkheart's mate. Or sometimes Ambergaze and how it was such a shame he'd passed before getting to know his kits, and that they were both angry at him for taking Ferncreek as a mate so young. And sometimes they spoke of Nettlemask and how she shouldn't be in the clan with her rogue blood, though that was usually the old tom ranting and Slyheart just nodding, though she knew full well that Nettlemask was a good warrior. the thing they always agreed on were how great it was to have Cloudkit, Rushkit, Sunkit, Amberkit, Foxkit, and Stormkit in their lives. Elkheart loved his great grandchildren, and often doted on them as much as possible. Slyheart, while she would deny being soft at all, did the same thing.

But now Elkheart was asleep and Oakstar's constant pacing was setting the older warrior on edge. She huffed and stood up, shaking the moss from her tail before padding over to him. "Will you stop pacing back in forth? You're going to give me a crick in my neck," she grouched at him, though there was warmth in her voice despite her harsh words. The tom had been her apprentice once upon a time, and words will never describe how proud she was of him. In many ways, he was like her own son, and she often treated him as such. Many cats usually expected her to be punished with the amount of nagging she does at him, but the two cats have always had a strong bond. That and he always seemed so young to her, and many times she wondered if he'd ever stopped being her apprentice.

She sighed and sat down next to him, pale blue eyes narrowed as they often were. "Let me guess; it's about Sunnystar. She'll be fine, you know," she said softly, flicking him with the end of her tail. "Happy endings happen sometimes, you know."

A soft rustling came from the back of the medicine den, followed by a muffled curse. A small dainty cat slipped into the openness of the den, mottled jaws crammed with borge. Smokefern set the herbs down gently, not wanting to accidentally prick one with his sharp teeth. He nodded in satisfaction, a torn ear twitching as he heard his sister's voice. Both of the tom's ears were shredded, the left having a nick almost all the way down to his skull. He'd received a bite mark in both ears when he failed his first and third Trials while growing up, and an unlucky encounter with a rogue left them both torn to bits. He'd eventually passed his third Trials, but that had been after he asked to be a medicine cat instead of training as a hunter as he had been; turns out, he knows more about herbs than almost anyone else in any of the clans he'd met, and he still hadn't entirely mastered the hunter's crouch.

  • Feeling eyes on them, Briarfrost turned her head to stare down Nettlemask before she shook it off and brushed her tail across her sister's flank, letting her know they could head out to hunt as they usually did in the early time of day. Briarfrost had hardened her eyes into the empty, void look again as she padded to the camp entrance and slid out. Her paw steps quiet as she paused and glanced behind her, waiting for her sister before going on, letting her gaze soften and relax as her sister brushed her flank with hers. Thus calming the irate fighter. Her limp was more pronouced outside of camp as she let herself relax, keeping the tense one in camp though it was worse around mornings...the muscles and scar tissue stiffening as she padded alongside Twilightmist.

Twilightmist glanced coldly at Nettlemask then at Oakstar...her gaze slightly thawing before she shook it off and followed her sister outside of the camp, ignoring the looks the two cold she-cat often recieved. In all honesty it was their protective mechanism A way to make sure they were not hurt again. As she caught up to her sister, she noted the pronounced limp and sighed, brushing against the she-cat as she spoke "Briarfrost...your shoulder is bugging you again...maybe you should let Smokefern take a glance at it..." a swift look told her to not bother and she shrugged "I'll get you more moss and some comfrey later on when I go out on a patrol...or at least later...maybe sunhigh." Twilightmist murmured, giving her sister a gentle nudge. She was worried for Briarfrost but knew her sister just sucked it up...besides...it would loosen up as the day went on and the she-cat trained by herself as always.

  • Firewillow woke with a start, unable to receive a decent night's sleep. She sighed, clumsily shifting her weight to the side, and slowly rising to her paws. The ginger-furred she-cat yawned, while she was excited for her kits to arrive- she couldn't help but wish they'd come sooner to save her some sleep. Hauling herself out of the nursery, Firewillow peered over to the freshkill pile, mouth watering as she spotted a vole. She grasped it in her jaws and settled in, nibbling on the prey. Her gaze shifted across the clearing, ears twitching as she felt a presence behind her.

❣♦Sunnystar was sleeping peacefully in her nest beside Oakstar, well that was until he moved and began to walk around the camp. She sat up in the nest and watched him. She started to groom herself slowly, mostly licking repetitively over her her rapidly growing stomach. She pressed her nose to her stomach and closed her eyes. Her body seemed to be at peace, but that wasn't that case. Inside of Sunnystar's head, her thoughts were jumbled, running around, getting confused. There was one thought that always seemed to come back even when she tried to just push it away These are Thornclaw's Kits she thought repetatively. She opened her eyes and looked at Oakstar, she wanted to walk over to him and make sure he was doing well, but she also seemed to think he was finally at peace in the silent, sleeping camp.

❣♦Mudstep slept in her little nest, curled into an extremely tight ball. The medicine cat woke up abruptly, looking around the camp, her ears flicking widely and her fur standing up. The Siamese she-cat calmed down once she realized where she was, her fur flattening back down along her spine. She looked at Smokefern and gave the tom a nod in greeting before walking over to Sequoiapaw. "Sequoiapaw, Its time to wake" She said in a soft voice, which probably was extremely unheard by the sleeping tom.

--Opened one eye in a slit. She didn't want to wake up. Her First Trial was tonight. She didn't want to go. She skipped out on swimming training that the other Mothers desperately do to their kits so they won't fail. So instead she closed her eyes tightly. "Please Monyo, make today go away." She opened her eyes again and pouted when the day didn't change. "Maybe I can pretend to be asleep until I'm a warrior?" She thought aloud. That was one of her problems, musing her thoughts. She closed her eyes again and lay limp, trying to look like she was asleep.

  • Legendstreak~female~fighter

    Seleppaw~female~apprentice

Seleppaw trudged out of the apprentice's den sleepily and lay down next to Legendstreak. "Good," the warrior commented. "Now you can have some prey and join your mentor when they're ready for you." Sleep looked up at her, "how are you so awake?" The last of her words were punctuated with a yawn. "You get used to it," Legendstreak commented. She poked the Seleppaw on the head with a paw a groan coming from the apprentice. "Wake up. How about you play with the kits while you wait. It will wake you up." Seleppaw looked up, "you're going to make me do it aren't you?" Legend streak nodded, "now go." Sleep let out a last groan and padded into the nursery where the kits were. Legend streak had taught her many a thing and one of them was that warriors had to wake early to do their duty. She decided it couldn't hurt to teach a kit that. She walked up to CloudKit, who appeared to be asleep. She poked her gently in the side. "Hey, hey CloudKit! Wake up! Do you want to play? Isn't it your first trial today anyways?"

  • (OOC; sorry to make you wait Moondust )

"-time to wake," a voice lulled; it felt familiar.

Sequoiapaw's consciousness was reluctant to wake. His burgundy eyes dilated in the humid light. The tom exhaled sharply before embracing the uncouth of morning. Moon-eyed, but with a gentle expression, his mentor loomed over him. Her features were benign and crested in sun. Sequoiapaw's mouth curled into a loose smile.

"Mudstep- how are you?" the apprentice yawned and staggered onto his paws. The young tom took no notice of the wisps of moss clinging loosely to his flank.

  • Stormkit started as he felt something lightly nip his tail before he whisked it away. "Hey!" He purred, turning around to face the she-cat they'd always known as their mother, even if Ferncreek wasn't their true mother. Ever since their mother died and their father had disappeared, she had been the one to take care of him and his sister. Stormkit tipped his head curiously. "Any news on when our second trial will be?" He asked, though sadness flitted through his blue gaze for a second. Since Foxkit had failed her first trial, she would be an apprentice longer than him. Though they weren't going to train in the same field, he always had imagined them getting their warrior names together. It wasn't her fault that current caught her off-balance! No one could have predicted a rogue current in the river! He thought.

  • Slyheart sighed again, toughing the end of her short tail to Oakstar's flank. "Sometimes I think you're too much like my mother," she snorted. To one who didn't know Slyheart, the statement would have sounded rude. But one who did would know that above anything else, the older silver warrior loved her mother, practically worshiping the long-deceased hunter. "She was always worried about everything. I remember my father talking to her all night long to calm her mind, and it usually only worked for a moment." Realizing that she'd dropped her gaze to her paws, she lifted her head to look at the tom, pale blue eyes soft. "It's okay to worry, Oakstar. It truly is. Just don't let your worry of the future distract from your present." She leaned forward and briskly licked the tom between the eyes with a quiet, rusty purr before standing up. "Now, get something to eat before you wither away," she gripped, smirking a bit.

Smokefern glanced over at Mudstep as she woke, tail lifting as a 'good morning' when she nodded at him. The pale tabby tom stretched quietly as Sequoiapaw slowly woke up, Mudstep's soft voice almost lulling the medicine cat to sleep again. He shook himself quickly and slipped out of the den. He couldn't go to sleep; he needed to check on everyone. Pale grey/brown fur ruffled with the slight breeze before he made a bee-line towards a familiar tortoiseshell cat. "Hello, Sunnystar," he said softly, his voice once again startling to hear. With the scars scattered over his face and his ears torn, most expect him to sound gruff despite his small size. But his voice was musical and almost feminine, matching his pale hazel eyes. "Still having problems with the kicking?" He sat beside her politely, thin tail curling around small paws.

Ferncreek purred when Stormkit faced her, her eyes glowing with affection as her previous annoyance melted away. "I'm not sure," she replied softly, pulling a hind foot up to keep Rushkit close as he slept with the other three kits. "Your brothers and sister's first trials are today; maybe you'll have your second today as well." Her mottled ears twitched as she heard Cloudkit's muttering, and she turned with a fond smile towards the grey and white kit. Trying not to laugh at the little one's wont to talk to herself, she leaned forward to touch her nose to her ear-

And then nearly jumped out of her fur when Seleppaw came in like a lumbering badger. Ferncreek sighed in resignation as Amberkit's head shot up almost immediately, Sunkit's not far behind. So much for letting the kits sleep. "Seleppaw, please be a little quieter next time you come in to play," she reprimanded gently, pulling Rushkit's still sleeping form closer again. She licked the pale kit's soft cheek, gentle, but insistent, until the tom opened his dark brown eyes. "S'mornin'?" He asked quietly, words slurring like they did when the little kit was tired. Ferncreek nodded, leaning in close to his ear. "Yes, it is. Your trial is today; better wake up and get ready." At once Rushkit's eyes brightened and he hauled himself up to his paws, swaying only slightly. The queen chuckled when the pale cream tom launched himself in Stormkit and Foxkit's direction, clambering over his littermates in the process. "Trials'are today!" He said excitedly, only slurring a little now that he'd woken up.

(Rushkit is hard of hearing. Not completely deaf, but he's definitely got some issues with it ^^)

  • Briarfrost sighed fondly at her sister as she limped along. "If it is so bad I can't actually walk and my clan mates start to notice then and only then will I bug our medicine cat." she meowed firmly, her ears flicking up as she listened to a sound and glanced up a tree, finding a squirrel in the branches. She glanced at her sister, gesturing for her to climb it and get the prey as she limped to another area where she could smell mice. Her body...though a tad lopsided from her shoulder, fell into a perfect crouch as she stalked it and pounced...killing the two mice she found quickly with a nip to the spine. Her eyes meeting her sister as she slithered down form the tree and nodded once, grabbing her kills and padding back towards the camp, entering quietly and purring slightly as she listened to kits...her eyes almost immediately taking on the cold front as always.

Twilightmist sighed and shook her head lightly at her sister. "You better...or so help me, I'll ut poppy seeds in your fresh kill and drag him to you without your consent!" she muttered, her voice serious. This was the one time...when both were alone outside of camp she could tease and be a bit more of a sister. The she-cat glanced up and smirked, nodding to Briarfrost as she slipped quietly up the tree. Her paw steps quiet until she was close enough to crouch and lunge forward, killing the squirrel with a powerful bite to the neck before she slithered down easily. Her gaze met her sisters as they went to camp, her gaze instantly cold as they entered and she gave the squirrel to the queen in the nursery. Her body slipping out quickly before being noticed, her paws careful so as not to squish or injure and kits.

  • MaplePelt wntered camp, a mouse and a bird clamped in his jaws. The hunter dropped the pieces into the pile and looked to see his brother was still sleeping. A sigh escaped the tom as he padded toward his brother's nest and nudged him. His brother letting a low grumble release as he rolled onto his stomach to look at the tom. "What?"Appleclaw asked. "Wake up. Its morning."Maplepelt said, tail lashing as his brother blinked away sleep. Appleclaw got to his paws, stretching as he normally did each morning when he was awoken. He then followed after Maplepelt. "Hows prey?" Maplepelt gave a huff, "it's running."he responded earning a tsk from Appleclaw at the short answer.

  • Stormkit purred happily at Ferncreek's reply. "I hope so!" He purred, bouncing happily on his paws. He padded back over to Foxkit in time to see Rushkit launch himself towards the older kit and tell her about the kit's trial that day. "Yep," Stormkit meowed. "Hey, Foxkit! Ferncreek says that we might have our second trial today as well!" His sister glanced nervously over at Stormkit. "Isn't that the tree branch one?" She meowed, the tip of her fluffy tail twitching nervously. Foxkit glared down at her snow-white paws. "A strong wind will probably blow me off..." The kit muttered. "That was just bad luck, Foxkit!" Stormkit meowed, his eyes sympathetic.

  • unravelling from last night's sleep hollyface slowly got on her paws, tiredness still lingering on a bit for the molly. she looked down further into the den seeing which cats were still asleep. a grumble left the hunter as she looked out the den trying to tell how early or late it was, humming softly as she thought. "early," was softly muttered after she made up her made, that was fine the cat could sleep in. the sleek beaut walked out of the den, her eyes taking a moment to adjust to the sun beaming down on the camp. blinking a few time in a thought that they'd adjust quicker before looking at the cats who were already out and about, her eyes being pulled to the prey pile. good, cats are working she thought to herself as she moved closer to the pile to see of 'full' it really was.

  • Oakstar sighed ruggedly. "I fear she will be hurt. I never really wanted to have kits... but I am glad I'm going to be a dad." He said with a soft sob of happiness. He looked over at her. He shook his pelt and stood to stretch.

Cloudkit lied still for a moment, but when she was nudged again she let out a long high pitched groan. "Ffffffffffiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnneeeeeeee!" She sat up real quick and batted the apprentice in the face. "I was trying to sleep in."
