Spandau sat alone, gazing at the empty clearing. There was not yet many members in his group, save for his loyal friend Noel. uncurling his tail from his paws, he pulled himself upward. Making sure to avoid Noel's den so as not to notify her he was gone, he scrambled up the steep pathway leading out of his ravine. continuing along the grassy trail, Spandau headed into the woodland.

Noel heard the tumbling of rocks and debris in the ravine, and knew instantly that her friend had left her vulnerable again. Flicking her tail in annoyance, she decided not to pursue him; probably off looking for she-cats again. Instead she turned back to the task at hand, ordering the various herbs she had gathered into neat piles ready for storage.

  • Shimmer yawned as she stretched, flinching as wounds along her shoulder and flanks pulled painfully. Even though her fur was covered with herb fragments and other things...more like branches, leaves, and blood. The silver shimmery she-cat slowly limped out of her makeshift den, scanning the area for cats. She had been on her own now for a while...she wasn't keen on being spotted but certian times called for measures needed. Shimmer limped to a water puddle and lowered her head to lap at the liquid...her tongue darting out to lick the delicious liquid.

  • Spandau followed his usual path through the dense woodland, scanning for any signs of nearby cats. He felt it was vital to recruit new members soon if his group was to flourish. Padding into a clearing, he noticed a she-cat on the far side of a small body of water. her fur was shimmering in the sunlight, and he approached slowly.

  • Her elegant ears flicked up and her head lifted, stunning turquoise orbs scanning and eventually landed on Spandau. Her fur lifted and she blinked, her caution weighing over curiosity as she backed away from the water. Her head tilting as she studied to tom. Her tail flicking behind her. She had a light limp yes, but her fur was also covered in cobwebs and dock, marigold, plus horsetail to stop infection. Her one eye with the flecks seemed to sparkle slightly, emerald chips of ice in her one eye though both turquoise based orbs seemed to not move from the tom.

  • spandau tilted his head to inspect the she-cat, still slowly edging toward her. "hello," he purred in a soothing voice. "i won't harm you. tell me your name?"

noel sat buck herself at the camp, pacing in irritation. It was just like Spandau to leave her with nothing to do and no idea where he'd gone.

  • Shimmer blinked, her gaze slipping to one side as she took another step back, though lulled by his soothing tone. Her gaze slid to his eyes and she paused, drawn in by his gaze as she fought the urge to say her name "S-Shimmer." she mewed softly, her body tensed to be able to fight if need be.

  • he was now close enough to touch her if he wanted. he flicked his tail playfully and purred smoothly at her, "a lovely name. what brings you to my territory?" he paused, awaiting her reply. It was then he noticed her wounds, and stepped closer to inspect them.

  • Shimmer had let down her guard slightly then he moved closer and she instantly backed away, her fur rising as her claws unsheathed, her eyes narrowing uneasily. "T-That would be my business alone...t-this was a territory? I-I'll leave right away...." She spoke cautiously as she took a wavering step back again, her limp making it akward for her as she eyed the tom.

  • sensing she was obviously on edge, he walked closer still. "don't worry about it. but those wounds look bad and i have herbs back at my camp." he was so close now, he could hear her nervous breathing. "I insist you come back with me."

  • Shimmer blinked her eyes, turquoise orbs uneasy...filled with caution but she weighed the options. She needed a new set of herbs placed on...maybe she could... her eyes flicked to the male and she studied him before giving a tiny tiny nod of approval "S-sure." She murmured softly, her body tensed ready to dart off of need be.

  • he brushed his tail gently over her cheek, then whisked it away very quickly. "this way!" he turned and walked brusquely back the way he came.

Noel had climbed to the top of the ravine, and was waiting there when Spandau arrived with his female companion. she stood upright, though a less than impressive height, with her claws out and dug into the soft earth.

  • Shimmer had flinched at the contact and limped alongside the tom, her eyes raising to see a she cat and she flinched backwards, her body unsteady before she fought for balance and stayed put. Her posture uneasy.

  • Spandau notice don't how uneasy the she-cat was, and reassured her that Noel was not a threat by greeting her.

"Noel, what're you doing up here?"

"looking for you." Noel was unimpressed and eyed the she-cat closely. "your latest prey?" it didn't take her long to notice the wounds on Shimmer, and stared at her with curiosity.

  • Nyra tipped her head as the smell of blood hit her nose. "Alais, do you smell that?" She meowed, tipping her head. "Yea, but I also smell Spandau with it. He'll probably sort it out." The she-cat let out a soft sigh. "Aren't you at least a little curious about what's going on?" She persisted. "Nope. Come on, Nyra, we need to hunt for the clan." Nyra flattened her ears in consent and followed the scent of a mouse.

Alais watched his sandy-furred sister stalk away and shook his head fondly. The tom always felt responsible for his kit-like sister, especially since her personality got her in trouble a few times when they were loners. "She needs to stop being so trusting." He muttered. "It makes her too manipulative..." He scented the air and followed the trail of a squirrel.

  • spandau ignored her, and instead pushed past her and padded down the steep track to camp. Noel started to follow and then turned back, calling down that she was going to find fresh herbs for Shimmer. Spandau led the young she-cat into the centre of camp. he tried to make her feel less vulnerable. "this is where my clan live. there's not many of us, and most are out hunting."

  • Spandau then led her into a clearing hollowed out of the high banks of the ravine. "this is the medicine den." he pawed together a large pile of moss, shaping it into a nest. "you should rest until noel returns with herbs."

  • Shimmer followed silently and nodded to the tom "O-okay, as l-long as you're p-positive it's no t-trouble being here. I-I can leave once she *yawn* places herbs on the wounds." she murmured as she collapsed in the nest, curling into a tight ball and closing her eyes.

  • Alais had managed to catch the squirrel and picked up a mouse from earlier. Nyra padded over with two more mice. "I think this is enough." Alais meowed, trotting back towards camp. The siblings carefully stepped down the path that lead from the top of the ravine and towards camp. Alais stepped inside, narrowing his eyes as he scented the strange cat again. I figured Spandau would send the cat on their way, but I guess not... He thought, depositing the prey on the fresh-kill pile with Nyra.
