    Nathan Spiegel

The day was like any other day for Nathan. A typical start of drinking black coffee and reading over documents in the living room of the shared apartment. The museum that he worked for would let him research and examine documents at home. It was a smart and innovative idea and kept him off the icy roads caked with snow. With the cold weather outside, the young man wear a sweatshirt of his alma mater along with a pair of boxers. Although the apartment was warm, most could still feel the winter chill permeating throughout the apartment.

    Lillian Gray

Today was an exciting day for Lillian, she was preparing for an interview that would completely help get her life officially back together... or at least farther out of the ditch that she dug for herself. She walked into the shared living room and smiled at Nathan. "So do I look like a secretary or just a waitress in a pants suit." She asked him feeling slightly self conscious and nervous about the whole thing. She wore a gray pants suit with a pink dress shirt visible under the jacket and she had gray highheels.

After her husband died Lillian had fallen into a deep depression and lost everything when she lost the love of her life. She started to drink like a fish all the time to dull the pain, she went to her math class that she taught drunk out of her mind which lead to her being fired. She spent so much time drinking she didn't pay rent so she was evicted. For two years she had nothing to her name, she was completely worthless until she met Nathan.

She was working as a waitress so she could have some money to pay for booze and gas. He came into her life suddenly and with out warning. Before she knew it he was helping her and got her into AA. Her they are now she was six month sober and putting her life back together slowly but surely.

    NAVY SAWYER

(ooc; idk how you want me to start?? so theres this lame post for now)

the past few years had been rough for navy. the war had been brutal, and the opposing side showed no mercy. he had been captured by a group of ruthless men, who had kept him long past the war's end. he had just managed to escape, after months of compliance and gaining their trust.

now, he was finally coming home.

he was on a train, in a car towards the back. he sat quietly with a cup of black coffee in his hand, a luxury he had missed. his mind drifted to his wife- lillian most likely believed him to be dead. he hoped she would still want him when he finally returned, though he was prepared to be turned away. after all, it's hard to re-embrace the past, so he'd told himself if she rejected him, he would find a small place in another city and try to start again. he was still young, he couldn't just give up his life yet. he turned to the window, watching the trees speed by with a sigh.

Nathan lifted his head to look at Lillian. A small smile formed as he looked at her outfit, admiring the woman who stood in front of him. As he tried to stand up from his position on the floor, he let out a small groan. He had not realized how long he had been sitting on the floor.

"Mmm... definitely secretary material." He winked and walked up to her, wrapping his arms around the young woman. "You'll do fine..." He gave her a confident smile. "and if they sexually harass you, tell them I'll kick their ass. Even if they're a woman, unless she's bigger than me. Then you're on your own." He joked, however the first part was less than joking.

As he pulled away, he kept his hands on her arms. "You know I'm proud of you, right?" There was a look in his eye that reflected his admiration. "Regardless of what happens today, I will be proud of you."

  • Lillian smiled when Nathan embraced her, she always felt so safe in his arms. It was weird that she always felt like she was home in his arms, even when she first might him. A small part of her still felt like she was betraying Wavy and guess she would always feel that way.

"I will make that my opening statement. My boyfriend will destroy you if you look at me wrong." She smiled up at him as she joked. She relunctly pulled out of his grasp needing to leave if she wanted to be on time for the interview. "You know I'm proud of me too. It's all because of you im not dead in a ditch. Now I really need to go. Please put some pants on at some point today you never know who is going to stop by. " She blew him a kiss as she went out the door.

She actually left an hour earlier than she need to. She was planning to stop at the park, the place Navy proposed to her. She always stopped there every so often to think things over and feel close to her departed husband. She toyed with the ring that dangled around the neck. When she wore the wedding ring for months after she was told Navy died, but people continually told her to take it off to hell move on. She could never bring her self to get rid of it so she put it on a chain.

When Lillian got to the park she sat at the same bench after pushing off the snow. She pulled her thick black jacket closer to her body as she offered a pray to her dearly departed.

Nathan gave a wink when she mentioned that would be her opening statement. He knew that Lillian deserved the job, but he also knew that many might judge her for her past. If anything, her aspirations for trying to get this job would show that she was trying to heal.

At the mention of putting on pants, Nathan chuckled and gave her a teasing smile. "That's only happened once, and Mrs. Goldberg seemed to enjoy it. If she wasn't over eighty and didn't call me by the wrong name, I could take it as a compliment." He joked. "Alright, alright. I'll keep that in mind." He waved her off as she left. When she went out the door, Nathan turned towards the documents on the coffee table and sighed. "Guess I should get back to it."

    NAVY SAWYER

navy had planned to visit the park where he had proposed to his beloved before finding a hotel for the night and beginning his search for her. he wasn't expecting to do anything except reminisce, maybe cry a bit, so you can imagine his shock when he saw a familiar head of dark hair. walking up behind the woman he had been missing for years, he spoke in a quiet, raspy voice.

"oh, my lillian. what a messy life we've been given."

  • Lillian had been sitting at the bench for a few minutes gathering her thoughts. She was about to get up to head to the interview when she heard a voice she had long thought she had forgotten. The timber of the voice that brought back thousands of memories swirling around her head.

She sucked in her breath as she stood up and slowly turned around. She was visibly shaking when the image was processed in her head. Navy was standing before her. Her Navy was only a few inches from her. The Navy that was dead. She took a shaky step back filled with conflicted emotions. "Your dead. You aren't here, im crazy, your dead, your dead." She said to him and to herself as closes her eyes shut. How else could she react when someone literally came back from the dead.

    NAVY SAWYER

navy smiled sadly. he stepped forward and gently placed his cold hand on lillian's arm. laughing a bit, he said "no my lillian, you aren't crazy. i'm here. very much alive, at that." he was a bit upset that they had told his wife that he was dead, as he clearly was not. however, instead of simmering in anger, he simply reveled in the happiness that consumed him at being reunited with his love.

  • Lillian flinched when Navy touched her arm. She stared at him filled with terror that this was all some kind of dream, that if she touched him he would disappear into a puddle of blood. That was the nightmare she had constantly when she was first told the news her husband was dead. She gently and slowly reached out her hand and touched his. It was solid and not dissolving into blood.

Lillian threw herself into Navy as she let out a heart wrenching sobb. She pulled him into a deep passionate kiss. God, she missed his touch and smell. "How are you alive. What happened?" She said with tears streaming down her face and laughing while sobbing

At this point Lillian was late for her interview, but her mind wasn't on that at all. She had completely forgot everything that was going on except for that moment. Her husband, Her Navy was alive.

    NAVY SAWYER

navy leaned deeply into the kiss. god, how he'd missed this. in hearing lillian's question, he flinched a bit. he had been through a traumatic time, and recounting the events would be a painful necessity. "i'd, uh, rather not talk about it here. could we go somewhere? maybe get some coffee or something?" really navy just wanted a moment to collect his thoughts, that and the people in the park around them were giving odd looks to the couple. his awkwardness and anxiety were starting to make a reappearance. to change the subject, he gestured to his empty coffee cup. "y'know, i always took a nice cup of hot coffee for granted until i went years without it." he smiled sadly. his brain was overloaded with emotion and it took everything in navy to not break down in the middle of the park. his eyes were watering, but he quickly wiped away any trace of tears.

  • Lillian nodded her head when Navy said he didn't wish to talk about . That filled her with rage, he was gone for years she deserved answers. She was going to press the issue until she noticed he was getting tense and the start of tears forming before he wiped them away. She didn't care at all that people were watching her and Navy, she just got her husband back they could stare all they wanted. "Yeah there's a coffee place that just opened around the corner. It has the best muffins." She said still awkwardly laughing. She had no idea how to react so she went into extreme akward mode.

Lillian grabbed his hand and started to lead the way. It was funny after all those years apart their hands still molded perfectly together. She felt a wave of sympathy for her love, he must have gone through hell, and not having coffee was probably the nicest thing about it.

Lillian diffently wasn't going to make it to the interview and it was safe to assume she wasn't getting the job. She was so obbsed with her husband back her brain hasn't connected the that she had a boyfriend and her husband was right in front of her.

    NAVY SAWYER

navy nodded- muffins sounded amazing. he grinned half-heartedly at the sound of his wife's laughter. when she grabbed his hand, he closed his eyes for a moment. it felt the same as he'd remembered, and it was truly comforting. opening his eyes, he followed lillian, feeling sympathy. she was probably under so much stress right now- her husband is missing, presumed dead, for years, then he just all of a sudden shows up at a park? it's almost unbelievable. that, after going through years of mourning and moving on, had to be melting her brain.

navy shook his head to rid it of these negative thoughts. instead, he focused on how much he loved coffee. this brought his mind back to the coffee shop. "so..." he started awkwardly, "what else has changed?" the way he worded it seemed to be referring to the city, but he was also curious as to what his wife had been doing. had she found someone new? she didn't wear any rings on her finger, which brought both relief and sadness to navy. he was sad to see the one he had given her no longer took its place on her left hand, but was glad another hadn't replaced it.

  • Is there a trick or something to make pictures continually appear before the post. Or do you need to keep adding it your self.)

After a short walk they were in the coffee shop and she was taking off her jacket, letting the warmth and smell of coffee embrace her. She laid her jacket down on the back of a near by chair. "Nothing that you wouldn't expect to change while living in the city." She responded with a laughter with how the conversation went. Discussing things like he just got back from a vacation or something. The ring around her neck gleaned in the light, standing out from her gray suit and pink shirt.

She was going to get coffee for them both when she thought about what else changed. "Crime went up and then down, then back to what it was. That restaurant we used to go to finally got closed down for health violations. I lost the apartment." She listed off ideally to Navy. She was thinking what she could tell him that happened to her over the past years since he has been gone. Then it clicked and came crashing down upon her. Nathan. "I need to go to the bathroom, be right back." She said while turning pale. She rushed to the bathroom and hid in one of the stalls.

This couldn't be happening to her. It all had to be a dream, everything that has happened to her was just a nightmare she had since Navy disappeared. She grabbed her phone and dialed Nathan. It wasn't real, it couldn't be. Unfortunately for her things couldn't get anymore real.

Nathan heard some light humming and vibration, located somewhere in his mountains of paperwork. He sifted through the piles until he finally located his cellphone. He squinted at the screen to see whom was calling. It was Lillian. Surely her interview wasn't over that quickly.

He arched an eyebrow and pressed the answer button on his cellphone's screen. He lifted the cellular device to his ear, hoping that everything was alright. "Hey, babe. Are you okay?" He knew that something might be wrong. Perhaps the interview was too much for her, maybe she wasn't ready. Nathan was starting to internally slap himself at that thought.
