— this creature is a puzzle to figure out. their once pure persona has been tainted time and time again by deceit and death and unfulfilled promises, leading them down a road no one would have imagined upon first coming into contact with them. frisk is a gentle soul at heart, however, no matter how many times they have been cheated, and for the most part this is shown. what this reality lacks their fantasies make up for, and its not unusual to catch them with a waywarded expression on their face, eyes blurred as their mind twists around their thoughts, impractical or otherwise. they're your stereotypical daydreamer, lost in their own devices often but able to focus and get serious when the situation calls for it.

NIGHTMARE DISORDER, also known as 'dream anxiety disorder', is a sleep disorder characterized by frequent nightmares. the nightmares, which often portray the individual in a situation that jeopardizes their life or personal safety, usually occur during the REM stages of sleep. though these nightmares occur within many people, those with nightmare disorder experience them with a greater frequency.

— children are more apt to experience nightmares than teenagers and adults. young children normally have nightmares once or twice a week and will usually not develop a nightmare disorder unless they are under severe psychological stress. its more common for a child to be diagnosed with nightmare disorder since children usually experience many nightmares when they are young.

— during the nightmare, the sleeper may scream and yell out things. the victim is often awakened by these threatening, frightening dreams but might not immediately realize that they were in a dream.

— upon awakening, the sleeper is unusually alert and oriented within their surroundings, but may have an increased heart rate and symptoms of anxiety, like sweating. they may have trouble falling back to sleep for fear they will experience another nightmare.

— a person experiencing dream anxiety disorder would have trouble going through everyday tasks; the anxiety and lack of sleep caused by the fearful dreams would hinder the individual from completing everyday jobs efficiently.

note that when i write with frisk it is usually in second person and present tense because i find it a lot more appropriate for their character. currently, however, i'm writing in third person and present tense because it's difficult / weird for me to type meetings up in second person at first and it flows easier in third. i'll probably revert back to second person sometime soon, however.
