  • ❝ I'M OUTTA HERE ❞ for this particular gathering the participants are treated with a pretty view. waters of cobalt blue hang below the cliff drop. skies are a soft red, and a quiet promise is whispering in the puffy, pink-bottomed clouds, one that swears the scene is ideal for those humble folk. a picnic basket and blanket has been set beneath a tree, flowers of varying species and colors rooted into the sun-streaked scenery surrounding the area. the contents will hold what many expect; baked goods, plastic plates, cups, silverware, cetera.. and a note, one that is supposed to wish good luck and fortune to those here on this lovely evening. oh, if only the writing was eligible.

For once, Haiiro had bothered to clean himself up in preparation for his blind date, enlisting the help of family to make sure that his thick fur was free of mats and dirt. He had even cleaned the piercings across his nose of the grime that had begun to build up, the obsidian jewelry seeming to shine anew. Once upon a time, he might not have cared what he looked like to others, disheveled and unable to see his own appearance. If it didn't bother him, why should it matter? He supposed that even now, it didn't matter all that much. He was happy with himself because he could not see the flaws, could not see the scars that still showed pink or angry red where fur had refused to grow back, or the way that even his fluffy coat couldn't hide that his skin still clung to his ribs. Despite not being unhappy with an appearance he knew nothing about, Haiiro had wanted to make a good impression on whoever he was going to be on a date with. Unknown to him, his date was far from a stranger, although not quite a friend either. Inu was the thief that had tried to steal from him, only to find that the canine-like hybrid was more than willing to get rid of things from his home back in the Sanctum. Neither then nor now, Haiiro couldn't bring himself to be upset with the surprisingly kind and nervous person that Inu had turned out to be.

It seemed that Haiiro would be the first to arrive, feeling his way over to the picnic basket he had been informed was waiting for him. That was alright, as it gave him more time to prepare himself for an evening of human interaction. At least there was food there, although he still felt a twinge of guilt at eating what he knew he was still unable to replace. Tonight was a night for something, whether it be romance, friendship, or awkward conversations. He hoped for the second, feared the third, and perhaps longed for the first. Hope, hesitant and small, sparked in his clear blue eyes as he took a seat on the picnic blanket and awaited the arrival of his date.

Inu was still asking himself on how exactly he had ended up in this situation. Someone had given him the advice that meeting new people was a good thing and one of the best ones was like this, a blind meeting between two people. Of course he had been a fool to let himself get tricked and lured into this situation only to late realising what exactly this set up meant The Sanctuary had done. It was a blind date with a possibility of a romance to bloom out from one single evening. Romance. Just the idea of him being in any sort of relationship like that made his cheeks heat up and all of the suddenly he did not wanted to leave his little wooden house he had made in Hawkclan all by himself hoping the day not would come, to get that note.

Days had past without getting any invitation to this date and so he actually had thought he had survived from a extremely uncomfortable and awkward situation but so had not turned out to be the case otherwise he wouldn't be here right now, walking towards the direction the note had told him to go. Inu was very unexperienced with anything of this sort so had not exactly know what to do apperance like. He had taken a shower of course, made sure his bandana not was all to dirty and even had left it at home because well in case his date not would like bandanas... But that was pretty much all he had done along with to brush his fur of course but there was nothing that really stood out with him except from the eyes but that was not a good way really, not in his or Dimitri eyes. The eyes was something they both shared the same emotion for.

So in the end Inu had paid to much thought on this having spending hours on thinking on how he should look, but more importantly what they should talk about, what if the person not even liked him?. After what that dragon had said to him his confident had fallen down to the bottom, her cruel words still ringing in his ears. And why the hell are you supposed to even be, kid? You look like a reject science experiment." This words still hurt probably because it was not the first time someone had showed disapproval over his odd apperance. This thoughts contunie to follow him and so the closer he got the less excited he become and more anxious and nervouse until the thought strike him at last. I just want to go home and eat candy with Lii-chan instead.

And then he stept out from the bushes that took him to the final location of where his date already was seating and waiting. It took some extra steps to get there before enough courage had got build up to actually look up to see who it was and once it fall into place the canine stopt in suprise and eyes slightly widen. It was that guy he had tried to steal from that one time in The sanctum. " Uhm.. h-hello.. " he said with a slight pale face before returning back to look down on his paws with a tight tensed line across his lips. Deciding to face this hybrid though (still not knowing Haiiro was blind) took in a breathe before forcing the gaze back up to look at the white canine hybrid and now paid attention to how well groomed he was...actually he looked very handsome. Wait what??!!. Inu blush increased and instantly throw back the gaze towards the ground with embarassment and increased beating of his heart. Calm down, calm down, calm down!!.

He needed to get himself together.

//oh yeah this is also retro to his injures from the exiles!

  • Quite honestly, if Haiiro was to think about the days leading up to this date, he found that he had forgotten about it entirely until he was forcibly made aware of exactly what he had signed up for. The idea of a blind date was nerve wracking, the actual thing even more so, and yet he found himself almost looking forward to his evening once he arrived. There was hope in the way he held himself, wondering if he would be able to form a friendship out of this, or maybe even romance. A relationship seemed so very far away from where he was in life at the moment, like something that people like him didn't get to have. At barely a year old, Finch had been engaged to Fortinbras, but she had also been a very different person from him. With a small start, Haiiro realized that he had been able to think of his deceased friend without reliving her murder.

Having lost himself in thought as he waited for his date to show up, Haiiro was taken aback at a small, familiar voice greeting him uncomfortably. Although it took him a second to place the scent and name, the canine-like hybrid jolted in surprise at who exactly he was now on a date with. "Inu?" was his response, disbelief in his tone and expression. The complete and totally irony of the situation hit him like a blow, causing an amused smile to replace his look of shock. "Well, at least we're not complete strangers," Haiiro spoke up in good humor after a moment of silence, determined to make this night a good memory for both of them to look back on, unmarred by awkwardness.

For as long as he had been alive, Haiiro didn't believe he'd ever really been thought of as handsome. There had been Specklepaw, who had crushed on him (as well as a few other people, so he wasn't all too special), but her attraction had always been to his kindness towards her rather than his looks. Because he couldn't see himself, the canine-like hybrid had never really cared for his appearance, and had grown unkempt in the months he had been alive. To him, there had never been a point to keeping himself well-groomed, as the countless scars across his skin ruined him anyways. A vulture in a golden cage was still a vulture, and so there had never been a good enough reason for him to put all the necessary time into keeping his plush fur in good shape.

Fortunately for Inu, it seemed, Haiiro had found this date a good enough reason to clean himself up.

To hear his name get called out so suddenly made him jump a bit suprised over that Haiiro actually rememberd him even so his name. How exactly he should feel about that was probably to get worried because that meant his date knew the true face of himself, of the disgraceful things he did when no one else was looking. Suprisingly the canine hybrid had taken it suprisingly well though something that still had puzzled him even now. " Yeah i-it's me. " he mumbled forward the words to confirm rather awkwardly while feeling like running the other direction but doing so would be quite rude and in all honestly this guy didn't deserve a such treatment. Haiiro seemed like a nice person at least back then and so couldn't bring himself to throw that kindness down the dirt because of his cowardice.

Carefully glancing upwards again catch that smile which made the fur on his back start to rise and looked away just as quickly not down at his paws this time at least as his blush refused to go down. W-Why did he smile?, calm down Inu, take a deep breathe and stop being a such whimp before you make a fool of yourself. " N-No we aren't t-that's good. " he swollowed and had to agree on that was a good thing rather meeting someone he at least had seen before then a complete stranger. Starting to walk again to reach this few steps he needed to take to arrive by the blanket would slowly take a seat with a still avoided gaze and cleared his throat a bit and come across the idea that this was hard to believe. What was the chances this actually would happen?. Since that day Inu had thought about what Haiiro had said now and then a habit he had when meeting someone that stood out from the rest.

" So uhm, h-how have ya been d-doing?. " he asked with hesitant. Was that a good question to ask? or was he being to pushy?. The anixety was killing himself inside so out to save his own heart from a heart attack glanced down on the picnic basket curious over what might be inside of there already having catch this delicious smell that come inside of there. It smelled like pastries. The mismatched orbs widen just a tiny bit as now stared down on the basket as his candy addict kicked in and wondered what was inside, cheese cake?, pies?, chocolate?!. Inu swollowed tightly as his mouth started to watering and if he had been alone right now would have drooled and only seconds later having throw himself over this goods to devour all of this delicious flavors. Even Dimitri got briefly distracted since both of them shared the same love for candy something that was impossible for him to erase from himself. So he stared, longing for the goods inside the basket.

  • Haiiro let out a soft breath of relief as Inu confirmed that it was indeed him, thankful that he hadn't made some horrible mistake and begun talking to a complete stranger as if he knew them. There was no ill will behind his words, no hidden grudge against the other because of their initial meeting. Honestly, Haiiro had been offended at first, but didn't mind that opportunity to get rid of some things. Inu had seemed like a kind, genuine person despite the whole stealing thing, and so the canine-like hybrid had made an effort to look beyond his first impression. With Inu living in the same group as him now, it was becoming easier to replace that first idea with something more true.

As Inu spoke again, Haiiro tilted his head a bit curiously at just how nervous the other sounded around him. Then again, Inu almost always sounded nervous, and so he didn't believe that it was anything out of the ordinary. The very suggestion that perhaps the other hybrid was anxious due to certain feelings about Haiiro was far from his mind despite the general mood of the event. Someone being attracted to him in any way was beyond disbelief, impossible even. What was there to like about him?

"I've been doing pretty well," he answered, keeping his voice soft yet content. There was no need to elaborate yet, but perhaps he would talk about his life at a later point in their date. Their date. The canine-like creature felt a surge of some sort of emotion at the thought that he was on a date, and although it was a blind date, it wasn't with a stranger like he had expected it to be. Instead, it was with someone he had seen the potential of friendship in, and that somehow made it that much more thrilling. "How about you? I noticed that you moved in recently," Haiiro responded, reciprocating the question in what he hoped was a polite manner.

What was there to like about him?. Inu often asked the exact same thing not really having many how even liked him the only person he actully had was Lii-chan and a growing attachment to Mercy-san now. It was weird it almost felt like he was getting himself a family. Just a such idea felt so strange and very scary but he always wonder why this people sticked up with him since it for sure wasn't anything special about him. Inu was Inu, the stray dog thief how loved candy a little bit to much. So Inu didn't get it and neither would he ever think anyone would develop anything more for him then a simple friendship.Inu was not even trying to get himself friends to begin with he just didn't think being mean towards others would get him anywhere, it was so much easier to be nice just like Haiiro had said back then. The rest of the world did not seemed to agree though. Just because he was nice didn't meant he tried to be thier friend.

The basket with goods had for sure taken to much of the canine attention easily getting distracted when there were sweets involved. Haiiro voice was something he found impossible to ignore though and despite the words slipping out soft the ears was not easy to deceive knowing full well what 'pretty well' actually meant. Even Dimitri got a bit curious over this knowing the story between Sango and Finch but not the side characters around. It was not his place to comment on it though not one how wanted to pry to much into someone else private life for two reasons only. The first was because he had no such right the second one was that he always wanted to keep a line between himself and others not really wanting to get catch up in someone else life. The only one he could think about to want to help to release burders from thier chest was Lii-chan. He would be polite enough to pick back up his head to studie the other but offered a blind smile of hesitant. " That's g-good, no more t-thiefs coming on v-visits then. " he tried to joke but regreted it almost immediately. When he got nervouse his mouth started to say such stupied things sometimes. Just like his grins his mouth worked the same way to help to cooperate with a uncomfortable situation. This time around though it was not because he felt uncomfortable with Haiiro present just more nervouse then usual.

Trying to save himself from what he saw as a awkward situation would be quick to contunie speaking about the returned question he had got from his...uhm date. " Y-Yeah just for a s-short while though. I-i'm on a mission. " he told him and shifted the paws a bit unsure if he should explain further then that. Inu hadn't really got the chance to speak much about it to anyone and those who he had asked hadn't known much at all. " Aside from t-that i'm d-doing well. " he said and forced to sound positive but deep below he wasn't really fine not after what that sanctuary member had said. It was hard to move on from there. It was hard to even look himself in the mirror.
