  • ooc // just so i remember/ur ref this thread is where paper and owl sneak into riverclans camp and they find pebbledpaws body in the camp and thats when this thread becomes open! :) Owlpaw101

There was an intense need to do something that wasn't running back and forth with moss in her jaws for jerky elders or hiding from Bumblefoots' concerned gaze. She'd managed to stay under the radar after stumbling across the makeshift Windclan camp at Riverclans' border, still reeling from her actions that had shocked herself. She'd been so caught up in her split second decision to roast Bumblefoot alive, that she had near forgotten the rest of her family.

Being so close to Riverclan was a strong reminder though, and she wanted to get her revenge on Pebbledpaw. She might as well take a sibling along for the ride as well.

Turning to the make-shift apprentice den, she searches for Owlpaw but is unable to find her sister. Night had settled on the river now, casting starlight everywhere and making it harder for the one-eyed apprentice to find her sister. Giving up, she calls out into the camp - "Owlpaw? Where are ya sis?" They were still at odds over Paperpaw fighting Blackpaw but she felt that had settled down for now, at least.

  • Owlpaw had been in the river of all places. Not drowning or anything, just standing chest-deep in the water watching little minnows dart about. She was, for the most part, over the Blackpaw debacle, and perked up when she heard her sister call her. Clambering onto the riverbank, Owlpaw unceremoniously shook her fur and bounded over to the other apprentice. "Here I am," she yawned, sitting down next to Paperpaw. "You need something?"

  • "Well well, look who's settling in." Paperpaw grins as her sister comes over with a dripping wet pelt. She spies a bit of algae from the river in Owlpaws' pelt and reaches over to try and brush it off, considering her question. She stays silent as Owlpaw yawns. "I was going to suggest we both go on a big adventure but if someones' a lil' too tired to do that..." She trails off teasingly, having to turn her head to keep Owlpaw in her sight.

  • A mischievous grin grew upon Owlpaw's face as her sister spoke. An adventure? That could be entertaining. "Sleep is for the weak," the apprentice replied, gently batting Paperpaw's paw away and licking at her wet fur. She could clean herself, thank you very much. Once she got most of the little green bits out of her pelt, Owlpaw looked up at the other and asked, "What kind of adventure are we talking about?"

// Sorry for the late reply, family thought it would be a good time for a spontaneous road trip

  • // dude is comoletely fine lmao!! im currently in a field with no signal with my fam as well so its no biggie lol

Returning her sisters grin, a hint of something dangerous sunk into Paperpaws amber eyes. She wasnt going to tell Owlpaw her true intentions - that she had to kill their cousin in order to continue her dark forest training. "I reckon we snoop around a bit in the Riverclan camp while they sleep like kits, find out some dirty information on them and the like." She purrs instead, her voice sounding warm and genuine.

  • For a moment, Owlpaw thought she saw a hint of malice in her sister's gaze. But it was gone the second Paperpaw started talking again, so Owlpaw decided it was probably nothing to worry about. "I'm all for snooping," she replied, voice wavering with excitement. The past moon had been nothing but stress; it would be good to do something fun for once! "Though we'll need a cover story, in case we get caught. Riverclan can't be that inept," Owlpaw mused with a chuckle. The molly stood up, giving her pelt one last shake, and looked out over the river, wondering what their course of action would be.

  • // thnks fo the bump zilla!!

"Ha! I dont think those fish brains would notice at all - every Windclanner smells like river and fish now its just gross." Her amber eyes flicker slightly to Owlpaw. Maybe this wasnt the time to bring up her hatred for loners and other clans ... especially with what she was planning. Covering up any and all emotion, Paperpaw tries to play her sister smoothly. "Maybe covering ourselves in that chalky soil would be the best idea huh? Make us blend in nicely?" She looks expectantly at Owlpaw, but perhaps her sister had abetter plan. "We'd be like a pair of walking rocks at night - totally no one will know we were even there!" Her tone was persuasive and even slightly pushing.

She didnt know why she wanted Owlpaw there. Maybe to have one last good memory with her sibling if the dark forest cats came to collect her life for not fulfilling her end of the deal. Maybe because she and Owl were the closest out of their siblings ... it was hard to know.

  • // No problem!

"You have a point," Owlpaw replied thoughtfully, giving her own pelt a disgruntled sniff. Yuck. "I suppose as long as we're careful..." She didn't have any reason to not trust her sister; maybe that was why she was so willing to dismiss the glint of something darker in Paperpaw's eye. "So, shall we go?"

  • Paperpaw felt a twinge of sick gle that this was going so smoothly. No hitches so far. Gesturing for Owlpaw to follow, she rolls in the chalky substance and heads for a small path Cougarstat had told her about in the Riverclan camp. Slipping sideways you could easily get through and appear to the side of the medicine den.

Eyes bright with true curiousity she grinned at Owlpaw. "Look at this place! Bunch of slackers dont even see us coming." She purrs, keeping her voice down. She spots the apprentice den a few steps away.... she looks at Owlpaw. Not yet. She wanted to enjoy this first.

"Up to you where first sis!" She says through a forced grin.

  • Owlpaw followed suit in rolling in the dirt and quietly slinking through Riverclan territory. She too was feeling that giddy excitement as she slipped into the camp behind her sister. "Heh, yeah, they probably won't ever realize that we've been here!" Owlpaw chirped in reply, scanning the camp for what to do first. They were here to 'find dirt' on Riverclan, so... "Maybe we should take a peek around the warriors den first. Doestar doesn't seem like the type to betray our alliance, so if anything was wrong, I'd suspect the warriors," she murmured, remembering to keep her voice low. The molly didn't really suspect anything, but she did enjoy having an excuse to snoop around. She had always wondered what the other clans were like.

  • Oh Owlpaw always having such faith ... outwardly Paperpaw agrees with a nod and skirts to the warriors den. The camp is near dead silnt so both sister-spies will have to stay quiet. Coming closer to the edge of the den she presses her ear - to hear ... purrs? Tongue licks?

Wrinkling her nose at the affectionate warriors she shuffles up and tunes into a much more interesting conversation.

"We cant do this much longer ... shes a mess of a leader." One sighs.

"We havent even given her a chance yet." Two sighs in reply.

"Shut yer traps over there!" Three growls agressively.

  • Following her sister along the edge of the camp, Owlpaw took special care to be silent. It wouldn't be entirely obvious, but Owlpaw could be frighteningly quiet when she wanted to be. Upon seeing Paperpaw's disgruntled look, Owlpaw sends her sister a silent chuckle and a wink before honing in to the other conversation. Were they talking about Doestar? Perhaps Owlpaw was wrong and there actually were dissenters within this clan. Shuffling closer, Owlpaw carefully stuck her head through the leaves of the den's wall to get a peek at the conversing warriors.

  • ooc // omg the idea of owl sticing her head into a den like that is so fUNNY

Paperpaw watches as Owlpaw gets more interested in the conversation the three were having. It was curious .... perhaps there were some nom belivers in Riverclan after all? She shook her head. Not her mission here.

"Im going to look for a better vantage spot." She murmurs, backing away as her sister was occupied. The darkness grew until it felt suffocating. She slips inside the apprentice den, intent.

    ---

It takes less than a few seconds. They had all been asleep. It was like shooting fish in a barrel. Heart racing manically she wipes her claws harshly on a scrap of cotton until the worst is off. She heads back to Owlpaw as if nothing had happened. "What else they been saying?"

  • Owlpaw hardly noticed as Paperpaw left, intrigued by the warriors' conversation. Giving a small grunt in acknowledgement, she pressed into the den a bit further. As her sister returned, Owlpaw tugged her head from the ferns and gazed at her with interest. "Not much, one of them just doesn't really think Doestar has enough guts and-" Owlpaw paused, eyes widening at the faint scent of blood. "Are... Are you alright?"
