  • ooc // lmao that training thread oops Zephyrbee ?! also did zeph loose all his vision in his eye or just a little? :0

Paperpaw was not adjusting well to having one eye. She'd keep forgetting it was gone and try aimlessly to blink open both her eyes in the morning before coming to the realization that it would likely never open again. But there were omens and warnings of attacks coming, even if Bumblefoot ignored them Paperpaw could still feel the tension in the air. Knowing such, she padded over to Zephyrbee - her mentor and semi-adoptive-dad-but-not-really had also lost an eye during the fire and the grey tabby sat down besides the workaholic warrior.

"I swear it's that blind elders lucky day - two young fresh eyes are out on the moors for the taking." She snorts, her voice slightly hoarse from all the smoke she'd inhaled and in a lower tone than usual due to the fact she still hadn't got her usual fire and prep back.

  • ☄ ----~ //all of it since it...essentially kinda...burned off.....cough

Zephyrbee chuckled lightly, "I doubt it'll be much use to them, what with it being two right eyes." he said, before looking sideways at the molly. He'd be lying if he said he found it any easier to deal with his new disability. He distracted himself by helping reconstruct the camp, or by helping Bumble sort his herbs (he honestly just did the cleaning. Bumble was such a mess sometimes) but once and a while, he'd go out into the territory and practice hunting and fighting with his new lack of sight. He wasn't anywhere as skilled as he was with two eyes, but he was getting there.

"How are you holding up?" he asked, his tone soft now. He didn't like losing an eye anymore than the next guy, but he couldn't imagine how painful it was to lose such an important part of yourself so young. It saddened him that she even had to. Once ore, he thought about how he had fled early after the fire because he'd gotten hurt like this. If he had stayed, he could have helped out more. Could have kept a better eye on everyone. Could have prevented Paperpaw from getting hurt - or suffering the next week on her own.

But then again, if he didn't get this injury, who knows what would have happened to Bumblefoot?

  • ooc // damn!! thanks for letting me kno tho!

and zeph cleaning up bumbles messes omds <3

Not being a scientist, Paperpaw had no idea if having two right eyes would mean a cat couldn't see. "It's like that saying when you have 'two-left paws' except you would have 'two-right' eyes." She snickers, thinking about how clumsy that cat would be and turning slightly so Zephyrbee is still in her line of vision. She tries to hide it but it's quite painful to look at her mentors' scarred face. How was she supposed to know the idiot would dive in straight after Bumblefoot!? Honestly she hadn't even noticed the two's relationship growing closer - and she certainly hadn't expected it to get to a point where Zeppy would scar himself for her dad. Love was weird and hopefully she'd never fall into it.

Zeppys' voice turned low and Paperpaw was a little frazzled that her mentor was trying to start an emotional dialouge with her. Uh, no thanks. Instead she decides to focus on the physical aspect of his words by 'mistaking' his words. "Barely," She snorts, pointing with her tail at her paws. "It's hard to walk in a straight line sometimes so 'holding myself up' is a challenge as well."
