  • The Forest

    ¤A Rouge and Loner RPG¤

    The forest if full of life and many creatures reside within it, from largest deer to the smallest mouse. Most creatures live here peacefully but occasionally there is some sort of scuffle, possibly even death. But over all life is what triumphs over this forest.

    The Territory

    The northern part of the great forest is full of dense evergreen trees with the forest ending at the rock wall that marks the beginning of the mountains and disappears past the clouds. With a small waterfall on the east side of the wall creating a small pool of water before trickling south to the rest of the forest. To the east past the waterfall and it's stream, are tall pines that start off thick and dwindle down to a scarce amount before a fence cuts it all off marking the beginning of a small two-legged village. To the west is large rolling fields with scattered clumps of trees and a deep rushing river coming from the north west flowing to the south east. If you follow the river south the terrain fills with more trees but not as thick as the north. The river breaks off into three different streams that dwindle south the center stream and the left stream end up connecting again creating a thin but long island. Not too far further south a great thunderpath sits marking the end of the forest and the start of unknown forests and territories.

    Rules

    - Be active and literate, as much as you can.

    - Don't make mary-sues. Don't powerplay, godmod, spotlight, or do any of that other obnoxious stuff people do. Play fair.

    - Be nice to people out of character. In character, you can be as rude as you want, but please don't cause needless drama just for the sake of causing drama. If it doesn't push forward a plot or add to character development, it's probably needless.

    - Keep your characters realistic. This includes appearance and behavior. While a cat doesn't need to be 100% realistic in appearance but keep it believable (for example, in real life you won't see a gray cat with black spots, but here it's fine). In behavior, try to keep them consistent, and make their reactions to things believable and consistent with their personality and experiences.

    - You must create an even gender of characters, so that things stay even and it makes it easier for everyone to find a mate.

    - Do not create any lone kit under the age of six moons old. I will not accept it. Sorry but those just really annoy me.

    - If you know you wont be active for more than two days please be sure to inform me through PM or post it in OOC on the thread.

    Current Season :: Beginning of Leaffall

    Time of Day :: Sunrise

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Falcon sat outside of his cave grooming his long fur coat as the sun made its way over the horizon. A cool morning breeze rushed off the rock face and ruffled the toms brown marbled fur. The colder than normal breeze told Falcon that Leaffall was officially here and he should start prepping for the upcoming Leafbare. Rising to his paws the tom set off heading south in search of prey.
    Nova was at the waters edge finishing up her morning hunt. The best time to fish was right before the sun rose and could cast her shadow into the river. She had already caught two fish and decided to go for three but on her third attempt she missed and became satisfied with two. Picking up the slippery creatures and confidently trotted beneath a young willow tree and settled in for breakfast.
  • Fox and Hawk bounded out of the den they called home, eager to explore and play. Feather followed close behind with Raven padding quietly beside her. "Kits, I'm heading to the river to fish. You stay here. Remember if you see or scent anything unusual, go back inside the den." Feather meowed, stretching.
    Hawk rolled his eyes. "If anything mean attacks us, I bet I could handle them," he boasted. Fox nudged him. "They'd eat you in one gulp!" She teased, trotting around him playfully. "Mom, can I come with you?" Fox asked, bouncing back towards Feather. Feather shook her head. "Not now, Fox. Maybe later though." Feather meowed, nuzzling the rambunctious kit. Feather turned and trotted towards the river, following the sound of the rushing water from the waterfall nearby.
  • As Falcon made his way southeast he found himself padding long the rivers edge not today from the waterfall. Hunting close to the water was always promising, prey needed to drink too. Crouching at the waters edge the large tom lapped up the clear crisp mountain water. Licking the left over drops from his whiskers Falcon then started to listen to the sounds of the forest to start his hunt.
  • Elliott blinked groggily in the early morning light, stepping out from his den and taking a moment to breathe in the fresh air. The crisp breeze carried tantalizing smells that roused him from his sleepy state. He figured it best to start hunting so his belly was full and warm.
    ~~~~~

    Delta yawned and stretched her limbs, preparing herself for the first hunt of the day. She contemplated looking near the river, and made her way in that direction. Her ears swiveled this way and that as she listened intently for the sounds of small prey scurrying among the undergrowth. The morning sun above her dappled the ground in golden light, and a slight chill in the breeze sent a shiver up her spine.

  • Feather padded over to the river and crouched down, lapping up some water. Feather glanced over her shoulder, water dripping from her whiskers as she heard a rustling nearby. Her green eyes narrowed before turning back towards the river. She watched the water move by quietly, carefully watching for the darker shadows of fish slipping past. Suddenly, she shot out a paw and hooked a fish from the water. When it landed on the ground, she pounced forward and sunk her teeth into it to kill it. She sat down again and returned her gaze towards the river.

    Fox stalked towards Raven, who was watching the clouds. She leapt forward with a loud squeal and tackled the smaller kit. "Hey! Don't do that!" Raven wailed in complaint, squirming out from under his sister. "And don't be so loud! Anyone could have heard that!" Fox rolled her eyes. "You weren't exactly quiet, Raven." She meowed, padding away to play with some leaves with Hawk.

  • Falcon had just heard a squirrel start chucking and was about to stalk in it direction when an alarmed squeal sounds from up river. It was definitely a kit squeal and the tom quickly made his way in it direction to investigate. The large male sniffed the air as he trotted up river but the wind was against him not helping him scent out what was ahead. As he shouldered his way through the bracken the brown and marbled tom found himself face to face with three little kits and a pretty grey tabby queen. Full of surprise not quite expecting this he froze for a moment before dipping his head respectfully to the queen. "Forgive my intrusion I heard a squeal and.. well.. I wasn't sure what to think. Just didn't want a lost kit roaming the woods, the forest is dangerous alone." The tom rambled on but once he realized that he was rambling he shut up and waited to see her reaction.

  • Feather glanced up from the river, seeing Falcon. Her whiskers twitched in amusement at his rambling and was about to reply when Raven broke in. "Fox tackled me! She knows I don't like it!" Raven complained. "I was just playing." Fox muttered, turning back to paw through the leaves, hoping to find a beetle to play with. There goes the 'see a stranger, run in the den' rule... Feather thought with amusement. Though the tom didn't really seem threatening. "Kits will be kits," Feather meowed to the tom. Hawk marched up to Falcon, eyes narrowed. "Who are you? Are you mean?" He meowed. "Hawk! That's not very nice!" Feather exclaimed.

  • After a while of walking, Delta caught sight of a mouse digging at the roots of an oak and quickly dropped low to the forest floor, her belly just inches away from the layer of dried leaves underneath her. It would be impossible to creep up silently on the mouse, so after a moment's hesitation she hastily pounced at the mouse.It slipped from her paws, but she quickly scooped it up and threw it into the air, stunning it long enough for her to sink her teeth into it and kill it quickly. As she chewed contentedly, the sound of cats meowing in the distance made her freeze. She could hear the sound of the river not far from her.

  • Falcon looked down at the kits when the spoke to him fully amused by them. "Well just glad no ones hurt", he said looking at Feather before Hawk came up to him. "No I am not mean.. not unless I have to be" he meowed giving the little tomkit a mischievous look before flashing his claws at him playfully before sheathing them back. "I'm Falcon by the way", the large tom meowed introducing himself.

    Nova finished her fish before long and stood. Wanting to explore for the day the shecat made her way across the river and into the forested area of the southern riverlands. The silver shecat moved casually but vigilant not wanting to come upon any predators.

  • Hawk bounded away, satisfied with the answer, to join Fox in the leaves. Feather padded over to the kits and sat down. "My name is Feather. You just heard Hawk, and Fox is the mischievous kit by the leaves. Raven is the one you heard squeal." She replied, curling her long tail over her paws. Raven waved his tail in hello before returning his gaze to the sky. Fox's ear twitched but she didn't break focus in her bug hunt.

  • Delta finished her mouse hurriedly, bounding away from the voices of the cats. She headed south back in the direction of her den, her tail streaming out behind her. She padded close to the river's edge for a while, admiring the pretty stones that littered its banks before she broke away and trailed deeper into the forest.

  • Falcon looked to the kits as she spoke their names and then back to Feather. "Well it's nice to meet you all, don't let me intrude I was just on my way for my morning hunt, he meowed taking an awkward step back forgetting the undergrowth the he had initially had to force his way through. Stopping he stepped to the side to change his direction. "If you'd like I could come back with some prey. I remember how hard it was for my mother to leave me and my siblings alone to go hunting", the brown tom kindly offered knowing the queen would want to always have one eye on her kits.

    As Nova made her way eastwards she watched as the birds chipped about her and two squirrels chase one another playfully around the trunk of an oak. The forest was so full of life and everything seemed so peaceful. But she knew it would soon end the moment leafbare came, however that was still a whole season away so she pushed it to the back of her mind.

  • Surprise flickered in Feather's leaf-green eyes for a second at that offer. She never expected anything like that, especially since she had just met Falcon. "I can't ask that of you, Falcon." She managed to say after a few moments. "We'll be fine." Fox bounded forward. "Maybe you could come back later?" She mewed, tipping her head. "Fox, I'm sure he has enough to do with out you bothering him." Feather purred.

  • Falcon dipped his head at her response respecting it and stepped away. "Well I have to come back through this way to get back to my den so we might cross paths again before the sun sets", the large brown marbled tom meowed. Flicking his tail in a friendly goodbye he then turned and bounded away heading south in hopes that that squirrel was still close by.

  • Feather waved her tail in reply and turned back towards the river, crouching down and watching carefully for the movement of fish. She lashed out a paw and hooked up another before it fell back into the river. Feather turned to the previous fish and split it evenly for the kits. Fox tucked in eagerly, purring contentedly. "I love fish!" She purred, licking her lips. "I prefer something fluffy. At least we can use the fur for our nest." Hawk complained, though he started to eat his own share. "You need to take what's given to you. In the wild, you can't be picky." Feather scolded. "Unless it's crowfood." Raven chipped in. Feather rolled her eyes and fixed her gaze on the river again.

  • As Falcon traveled south he finally caught scent of a squirrel and the large tom went into hunting mode. Moving stealthily through the forest he finally came into view of the squirrel. Waiting for the right moment he inched closer and closer and at the perfect time he bunched up his muscles and leapt for the small fluffy creature landing squarely ontop of it. With a quick crunch to the back of the neck he killed the grey squirrel and picked it up. Looking around him making sure that nothing was hunting him he made his way into a dense thicket before settling down to eat his catch.
