  • //public or private, don't matter to me :)

JasperStar glanced around at the moor. It was still clearly devastated by the fire, but they were begining to rebuild their own camp, which was a good start. The moor could handle itself. JasperStar had remembered that StormGaze, their clawless new clan mate, had yet to receive some training from him and BearStorm. Well, the fire kind of pushed that off.. But still, StormGaze deserved to be trained. So he called "StormGaze, up for a training session? And BearStorm, would you like to help?" He waited for the two toms to join him.'

    Bearstorm   Jaggedsight

  • "Sure. Not sure I can help much with hunting, though", he meowed, his voice still hoarse from the smoke he had inhaled back in the fire. He was sure he could help out when it came to battle training, but hunting wasn't really his forte. But hey, he still had more experience than Stormgaze, so it probably didn't even matter too much.

  • JasperStar nodded, turning to Stormgaze. "We can practise battle training first if you like. Some fighting moves could be useful in hunting, and vice versa." He meowed, keeping in mind that the warrior had no front claws. That would make things more difficult, but there were plenty of moves where front claws weren't necessary.

"If you got strong back legs, you could power a good pounce, to bowl both prey and opponents over. Then you can use your teeth for prey, and perhaps your back claws or even front paws to make strong blows." He meowed, ideas already forming in his mind.

  • "The weakest blow can topple the strongest, if it hits the spot", the large warrior meowed with a faint smile, nodding in agreement. "If you are locked in close combat, and you get a clear opportunity... A hit here", he used his paw to point out his throat, "will hurt a lot, claws or no claws. Also, if you don't have the strength... Use your speed. a stronger warrior can't win if he can't hit you."

  • JasperStar listened to BearStorm, nodding at his suggestions. "Would you like to practise dodging blows, whilst looking for an opportunity to strike?" He asked, think that might be the best way to start. He wasn't sure how Stargaze should fight against though, he was fine with it either being himself or Beartstorm.

  • "Who do you want to start against?", the maine coon asked, tilting his head slightly as he spoke. He wasn't sure if it'd be a good idea to 'fight' the other, as he didn't really have a button that made him hold back. He'd have to be careful, and make sure he wouldn't get too enthusiastic. And besides, it wasn't his style to just attack at random, he was more of a counterattacker himself, be it without the dodging part. He had learned how to tak blows with minimal damage to lure someone in close, only to strike back with double the power. But if it meant helping Stormgaze, then why not?

  • "You two could start, and once you've landed a good blow on BearStorm, you could switch to me." He suggested, finding himself curious to see how the two would fight against each other. Jasperstar would be ready to step in if things got rough, but he wasn't expecting the mock fight to go anywhere near that far.

  • "You ready?" the maine coon asked curiously, flicking his tail as he waited for an answer. As soon as the answer was yes, Bearstorm would launch himself forward, aiming to ram his shoulder against the other's chest to push him back, or maybe even bowl him over. Normally, he would follow up with a different attack, but he would keep it at that for now. He didn't know what Stormgaze knew and didn't know, and he didn't want to make it too difficult either.

  • JasperStar watched as Bearstorm jumped forward. He might've been a little too eager, but Stormgaze would probably be fine, and he waited for the tom's retaliation.

  • The maine coon immediately rose to his hind paws, probably making him look incredibly intimidating considering his size. However, instead of attacking, he simply got down again, shaking his head slightly. "Too fast. You dodged well, but by attacking from that distance, I have all the time in the world to retaliate. In fact, you left yourself open. I could've ducked under your strike and you'd be in striking distance. If you want to attack from that distance and you are already in a fight and thus you don't have a chance to surprise them, try to change directions from time to time, make it impossible for your foe to know what you're planning next."

He waited for a second to let everything sink in. "Alright, ready for a second try?"

  • JasperStar watched the fight, how Stormgaze dodged nicely, and Bearstorm just as easily avoided his retaliation. He listened to Bearstorm's explanation, nodding and waiting to see if Stormgaze wanted to go again.

//not much for Jasper to do XP

  • He nodded, and once more launched himself forward. He was pretty much just copying his last move, so he could see if the male actually took the feedback into account. He certainly hoped he did, as it would make things a whole lot easier.

  • Much better, although he wondered if the guy was capable of getting a grip on his back without claws. Not that it mattered, he allowed the male to get on his back, before immediately jumping backwards, aiming to squish the male under his weight before rolling over to get back to his paws.
